Memorial Day ~ David Archuleta Patriotic Medley

Posted by djafan on Monday, May 25, 2015

Memorial Day has come to mean the beginning of summer, a time for picnics and barbecues, and a holiday to gather around the family. That happiness and freedom, however, is a product of the real cause for the holiday: the sacrifice made by men and women who have fought and died for the freedoms and liberties Americans hold dear. Memorial Day is a time to remember that the American way of life is not cheap but rather has been purchased by the lives and blood of so many who have sacrificed for us to live free and happily now.

Never Forget

We Shall Never Forget (9-11 Tribute)

 Let the world always remember,
That fateful day in September,
And the ones who answered duties call,
Should be remembered by us all.

Who left the comfort of their home,
To face perils as yet unknown,
An embodiment of goodness on a day,
When men’s hearts had gone astray.

Sons and daughters like me and you,
Who never questioned what they had to do,
Who by example, were a source of hope,
And strength to others who could not cope.

Heroes that would not turn their back,
With determination that would not crack,
Who bound together in their ranks,
And asking not a word of thanks.

Men who bravely gave their lives,
Whose orphaned kids and widowed wives,
Can proudly look back on their dad,
Who gave this country all they had.

Actions taken without regret,
Heroisms we shall never forget,
The ones who paid the ultimate price,
Let’s never forget their sacrifice.

And never forget the ones no longer here,
Who fought for the freedoms we all hold dear,
And may their memory never wane,
Lest their sacrifices be in vain.

Alan W. Jankowski

Lord God of Hosts, be with us yet,
Lest we forget—lest we forget!

David Archuleta at Stadium of Fire Tonight!!!

Posted by djafan on Saturday, July 2, 2011

Stadium of Fire, the largest stadium fireworks show in America kicks off tonight with an archer shooting a flaming arrow into the night sky. This is a huge event that many of David’s fans will be coming from far and wide to attend. The show will feature over 1000 dancers and a fly-over from Hill Air Force Base.

It will be a spectacular evening of fireworks, patriotism and of course, music. The crowd at LaVell Edwards Stadium is estimated to number 50,000. Outside the stadium “we expect 250,000 people on every piece of green grass in Provo and Orem,” says Eric Rasband, UDOT’s traffic lead on the I-15 Core Project.

Watch the video below ↓  to see the preparations being made by law enforcement and UDOT for this massive onslaught of people.

This will be the largest stage ever constructed for this event, 150 feet wide and 40 feet high!

Emory Cook, communications manager for the Freedom Festival, said he doesn’t think Paisley and Archuleta know what to expect before they come to the stadium. “I think they don’t know what they are getting themselves into, how special this is, until they are here and experience the atmosphere,” Cook said.  “The show will be broadcast to over 1 million military personnel all over the world on the American Forces Network,” Cook said.

Considering the events of late, I don’t think we as David’s fans know what to expect either.  Every time we think he’s done everything he can, he gives us more. Tonight and all weekend long, we celebrate the country’s hard-won independence. As fans of David Archuleta, we celebrate another kind of independence that this event will showcase. His independence as an artist.

It’s good to be alive, spending time with family and friends, waiting up for videos again. Hope to see many of you in chat tonight as we fanticipate together the fireworks to come!
