davidarchie What a great show we had in Layton! Thanks for coming out my fellow Utahans! With it being the night before Father’s Day it was particularly special to have these 2 men at the show: my dad and my grandpa. These 2 men have certainly shaped me and have been mentors to me throughout my life. Happy Father’s Day Dad and Grandpa! And Happy Father’s Day to all you fathers out there! #layton#Utah#fathersday#father#dad#grandpa#tour

The gates open at 6:30 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m. Tickets for Friday’s performance can be purchased at smithstix.com.
Archuleta found his fame at age 16 when he was the runner-up on the seventh season of “American Idol.
Archuleta didn’t always have plans to become a music artist. Throughout his childhood, he wanted to be zookeeper, a dentist and even a social worker. Even though he kept changing his mind, he always knew that he wanted to connect to people in some way.
Obviously, Archuleta didn’t become a zookeeper or a social worker, but he was able to find a special way of interacting with others.
“Music is way to connect with people,” Archuleta said. “I’ve always wanted to connect with people, to tell stories and hear peoples stories, and I get to do that through writing songs.”
Last month, Archuleta released his latest EP, Orion. The Orion EP has four new songs that were inspired by events in his life that left an impression on him.
“This new music is basically written from my journey of the last several years of my life,” Archuleta said. “From becoming an artist and performing on ‘American Idol’ to touring and making albums to then doing a complete 180 turn by going to South America to be a missionary, I have this new perspective on life and I’ve written about it.”
Archuleta plans to release one more EP before he releases a full album later this year. By releasing two EPs, he is able to get a feel for how his fans will react to his new music.
“I want my fans to like the music, but I also want to see how they feel about the story and message,” Archuleta said. “I am trying to get a feel of how people will respond and react.”
When Archuleta isn’t touring and writing music, he admits to sometimes wasting too much time watching videos on YouTube like Studio C. He also loves to find new restaurants on Yelp and try them out with friends and family.
Since his run on “Idol,” Archuleta has released seven of his own albums including an appearance as a guest star on The Mormon Tabernacle Choir’s holiday album, “David Archuleta — Glad Christmas Tidings.”
“I seriously love food,” Archuleta said.
Archuleta is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and likes to show his fans all facets of his life from spiritual moments he has throughout the day to which new restaurant he recently tried out.
“My religion helps shape how I live my life and it helps give me so much fulfillment and happiness so I had to learn how to be open about all aspects of my life,” Archuleta said.
At his performance, Archuleta will perform a number of his older songs that fans will know along with some of his newer music. He will also throw in a few cover songs from famous artists throughout the last few decades.
“I want people to feel good when they listen to my music,” Archuleta said. “But I also want them to feel like they can connect to something deeper, like a deeper version of themselves and a deeper part of life. That’s really the purpose of this new music being released.”
David Archuleta is coming back to Idaho for a concert, featuring Nathan Pacheco.
They will be performing in Pocatello at the Portneuf Health Trust Amphitheatre on Friday, June 16 at 8 p.m.
On Wednesday, two days before the concert in Pocatello, he was enjoying his day off by traveling and resting at truck stops. For weeks, he said he has been practicing his songs on a daily basis with very few breaks.
Archuleta’s newest EP, Orion, was released on May 19, according to davidarchuleta.com. He said he plans to perform some well-known songs from his previous projects and old albums, songs from his new EP and a new song which has not been released yet.
“The song I’ll be singing that I haven’t released yet is a preview of what is yet to be released,” Archuleta said.
He said he is releasing his next EP within a month or so, then he is releasing an album later this year.
Archuleta said he wants to come closer to God through his tour, so he likes to start every concert and writing session with a prayer.
“I remember one time a (songwriter said) that with the twenty years (he’s) been in the business, (he’s) never started a writing session with a prayer,” Archuleta said. “He said that was special.”
He then asked the writer if he wanted to say a prayer to end the session. He said the writer said he did not think he knew how to pray. Archuleta said he told him to say what was in his heart.
“He bowed his head, and he just started talking to God and thanking Him,” Archuleta said. “Afterwards, he was like, ‘I have goosebumps.’”
One of Archuleta’s greatest motivations for creating his new music has been the experiences he has had over the past seven years of his life.
Archuleta said, “After coming back from my mission in Chile, I had such a new perspective on everything.”
Orion, in specific, is a showcase of the perspective he has gained over the years.
He said these new songs are full of things he wants people to know. He has hopes that his songs will inspire people to stay strong because there have been times when he has felt not good enough or not known how to move forward.
Archuleta said he thinks those at BYU-Idaho may feel like they are not good enough and that his songs from Orion will help students to remember their worth. Sometimes students feel pressured to be perfect and that they cannot show any weakness because Christ said to be perfect.
“Christ said to be whole, to be complete,” Archuleta said. “He didn’t say that you can’t be flawed.”
Archuleta said he is coming to Pocatello because he has been there before and enjoyed connecting with audience members of the southeastern Idaho region.
“I want people to leave feeling better and lighter—feeling better about themselves and feeling motivated to keep moving forward in life,” Archuleta said.
Archuleta’s first single “Crush,” debuted at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart the week the singe released. Archuleta’s first album, “David Archuleta,” went gold, and sold more than 750,000 copies in the U.S. and more than 900,000 copies worldwide.

A couple of video clips from Shelley from The Bing Crosby Theatre last night!
“This” from SnowAngelz at Spokane VIP! Read the rest here!
He fielded some interesting VIP questions…
1. About the new music that’s coming (my Q…feel free to thank me later 😎) … He said he is very excited about
the next EP, which will have a retro “groovy” soulful vibe… PEOPLE, I AM BEYOND EXCITED ABOUT THIS!!!!!He also said that the album will featu
re all the EP songs PLUS… I repeat… PLUS additional songs. (I was nodding and smiling and giv
ing him so many thumbs up during his answer that I’m sure I pulled a muscle).
He said he has 16 songs
he wants to release over these EPs and album. *cartwheels*
2. A lovely young lady from Idaho told him she loved Numb and wanted to know the story behind it, so he shared that.
3. A fine gentleman asked about his future goals and he
talked about how he’d live to have kids, have a family.
4. One lady gave him tissues because he was stuffy from allergies then had to ask for them back when his MLP made her cry.
5. He was asked how they travel on tour and apparently all 11 of them get cozy in one tour bus
with bunks. He stretched out his back saying the bunks weren’t 100% comfy.
6. Who would he most like to collaborate with? Tori Kelly. He loves how she can share her spirituality in pop music and stay true to who she is.
7. His fave songs to perform? Lately, Running and Higher Ground.
8. Why Say Me was pulled from the set list? Because the crowd wasn’t “vibing to it” and neither was he. 😭 we told him we love it, however.
9. Fave Ben Rector song? He asked the others if they knew Ben’s music but they didn’t so he sang a bit of Brand New and they recognized that (be still my ❤️)… his faves: Note To Self, Wildfire and I Like You.
10. Biggest challenges? Believing in himself… something he continues to struggle with.
11. Do you have a girlfriend? (NOT my Q, I swear!) He said no… “Single… but probably not for lon
g” 😂😂😂😂😂
You guyyyyys…. this guy is so worthy of all our support, ALL of it, I actually wish I had more to give… you all know this but just had to say it out loud.
And the concert was icing on a very rich, amazing cake. Gorgeous jewel box of a venue. Very enthusiastic crowd… not Portland-level hysteria but a lot of love thrown David’s way.
The acoustics on the ballads were incredible… every tender nuance warm and crystal clear. I’m Ready, Heaven, Scars, Forevermore, Broken, He Lives in You, were the highlights for me…def check out Shelley’s vids…I know she took them because Ref & I were blessed to sit between her and the lovely Tina… apparently the lady behind us said she was quite entertained by us all all night, lol. hmm.. lol me thinks David is being cagey.. now one thing that sounds great is the soulful retro groovy songs coming our way!

***LYRICS***
I am knocking standing at your door
Somewhere new I’ve never been before
Take me in and it feels like home
It’s getting late and I don’t want to go
Something simple in the way this feels
Like love is something pure and real
It’s getting late and I have to leave
But tonight your memory is holding me
I’m wide awake with
All these feelings inside
Keeping me up all night
All these feelings inside
I’m wide awake with
All these feelings inside
Keeping me up all night
Pictures that cross my mind
They’re keeping me up all night
They’re keeping me up all night
They’re keeping me up all night
Keeping me up all night
See my heart and there’s an answered prayer
Feel the magic in the midnight air
Breathe it in I want to pass it on
The strength of finding somewhere you belong
I’m wide awake with
All these feelings inside
Keeping me up all night
All these feelings inside
I’m wide awake with
All these feelings inside
Keeping me up all night
Pictures that cross my mind
They’re keeping me up all night
They’re keeping me up all night
They’re keeping me up all night
Keeping me up all night
Here so small but I am safe and sound
Where I stand it feels like solid ground
No where else that I’d rather be
No greater gift than what you’ve given me
All these feelings inside
Keeping me up all night
All these feelings inside
I’m wide awake with
All these feelings inside
Keeping me up all night
Pictures that cross my mind
They’re keeping me up all night
They’re keeping me up all night
They’re keeping me up all night
Keeping me up all night
Ohhh
They’re keeping me up all night, keeping me up all night
The American Idol alum, 26, premiered his latest song, “Up All Night,” on Tuesday, one month ahead of the release of his new EP, Orion.
“‘Up All Night’ came from when I was having a really rough month trying to see how I could make a statement and prove myself and was getting nowhere,” Archuleta shares with PEOPLE.
The singer retreated into nature for some songwriting inspiration.
“A family living in rural Tennessee invited me over to go fishing at their pond. None of the kids even had smartphones at the time. They took me in and when I got home I realized I felt whole again,” Archuleta reveals. “I was so confused with what happened that I couldn’t sleep. I had to get out what I was feeling so I went to the keyboard and recorded the verse and chorus with some lyrics that night.”
Archuleta’s retrospective lyrics represent the mix of self-reflection and pop melodies that fans can look forward to hearing on his new EP.
“Orion is the first in a series of EP’s that I have been working on since returning from a two year mission in Chile,” he tells PEOPLE. “I’ve co-written all of the songs, and they they tell the journey of where I have been and where I am heading.”
“Up All Night” follows-up the EP’s lead single, “Numb,” which premiered last November. Earlier this month, Archuleta debuted the artwork for Orion on social media, also sharing that the album would be available on May 19.
Isabeau Miller shares about Up All Night!
isabeaumiller There are no words to say how exciting it is to watch people around the world react to art you helped bring into the world. Thank you, @davidarchie for the honor of allowing us to help tell your story and heart. @jskenney for taking the bones of the song and making it epic. And of course my love @shaunbalin for being the one who brings all inspiration to life. #upallnight#davidarchuleta#twoinc#jamiekenney#newmusicfriday
And some background on the writing of Up All Night!
And then there’s David Archuleta. I remember the first time we met, he’d come from church, and a wonderful friend of ours, who we’d written with a few times said she’d met him at church and had invited him to write with us. “Sure,” I thought, knowing how Nashville is, and that David would almost definitely be a no-show. But he showed. And we wrote. At first, it was awkward and clunky- like any first date might be (writing date that is)- and before we knew it, we had a verse and chorus. And I looked in his eyes. “You hate this, don’t you?” I said to the near stranger, who was quiet, even when he sang, even though he was a pop star around the world. He looked at me wide eyed, not wanting to say he did, but I knew he did. “We’re throwing it out.” I said. And we did. We started a new song. We finished the new song. And it was good. At the end of the day, he asked me how I knew, and I said, “I just watched you. I just tried to see what you were feeling.” I think that was the day that cemented our friendship, and songs just followed, because, when your friends with a lot on your hearts, and you create, it feels like it’s a disservice to your calling to not allow the songs in. But every time we wrote with David, I wondered if he felt what I hoped he’d felt: Heard. I never felt like it was my job to write with David, because, remember- I’m not “enough” or anything- certainly not a writer- to qualify as one. I felt it was my job to facilitate his ability to write. One of the songs we wrote is being released- tomorrow- as a single from his EP, and people are hearing it. I’ve watched on Twitter as people quote lines that fell out of my mouth, or David’s heart, or Shaun’s playing, and I think “Oh my God…this is the power of art.” But I’m not writer enough for this… I’m not writer enough to get a publishing deal in Nashville, and if I’m not writer enough for that, I’m not writer enough for this… Read here!
So much stuff! I love love Up All Night and so does everyone I have shared it with! And to top it all off David graces us with a facebook live vlog!!!! 19 wonderful minutes 🙂
davidarchie ~ Some of you may have noticed that I took a few weeks off from social media. 😬 It was extremely helpful and allowed me to get a better understanding of myself and where I am at in life. It’s so easy to get caught up in thinking about whether every moment in my life would be pleasing to everyone. Sometimes I get caught up to see if I am having enough interesting moments and witty remarks that will catch enough attention from people. I start rating my self-worth and how good my life is based on if someone chooses to look at my picture and like it or not who after 1 1/2 seconds most likely moves onto thinking about something else and looking at other photos and comments. I feel like I get caught up and obsessed with seeing if they approve or not the moment with comments and believe their comments and likes suddenly determine whether my life is great or not for where I am or what I am doing in the photo. It interferes with me being in the moment and enjoying where I’m at both physically and with my mindset, because I feel like I have to keep finding moments that will get enough people to look and “like.”
I may try to take more time without the temptation of social media and seeing how many likes I can get from a thought, picture, or video, and I would encourage you all to do the same and see what things you can learn about yourself that you may have forgotten while trying to get others’ approval. I will make sure to post more though and find the balance of sharing without caring too much. Haha. I guess it is a pull and tug that we all face throughout our lifetimes—not worrying what others think about us and letting that form our identity while having the courage to share what we learn and who we are. Know that a new song will be coming out in just a short time, and I’m so excited to share it with you! I will keep you all posted. 👍🏼 #dog#time #socialmediabreak
