At ten years old, he won the children's division of the Utah Talent Competition leading to other television singing appearances.[6] When he was twelve years old, Archuleta became the Junior Vocal Champion on Star Search 2.[6] In 2007, at sixteen years old, he became one of the youngest contestants on the seventh season of American Idol.[7] In May 2008 he finished as the runner-up, receiving 44 percent of over 97 million votes.

David Archuleta is treating us to some lovely instastory singing. He mentions that there isn’t so much pressure singing for us this way, I’ll take that voice anyway he wishes lol.
And it sounds like his Christmas Album is coming along. I can’t wait!
I’m sending him requests via the instastory so hopefully he’ll do this weekly 🙂
As soon as he walked out onstage at Daryl’s House in Pawling last Saturday night, I knew he wasn’t the same David Archuleta that I left at Westbury seven years earlier. After not seeing him for a long stretch of time, the change in his stage presence was remarkable; I could not take my eyes off of him. The Livestream doesn’t do him justice.
Experience shows; he’s now like a well-oiled machine. His confidence level has risen and there’s now a subtle sophistication about him. Unlike other singers, David doesn’t just sing; he performs each song, with it’s own set of dance moves, particular to that song. And yet at the same time; he’s humble. An interesting combination of traits in one person; confidence, experience, sophistication and humility; a humility that only comes from within. Male or female, the audience loves him and gave him a standing ovation several times during the evening.
The small, sold-out venue gave way to an intimate performance, allowing David to lock eyes with audience members, as he delivered the messages of each song. At one point, he sang the last verse of “Crush”to a young girl in the front row, corner. When he walked away I glanced at her. She was overwhelmed, almost in tears. There was a bunch of older fans in the audience, too. We caught every change up in melody or lyric and every dance move and we responded with applause.
David’s talent is so diverse that he’s able to have a setlist comprised of different genres including ballads, rock, jazz, spiritual, Latin, pop and even songs from movie soundtracks. The medley of tunes he sang from “The Great Showman” movie was awesome!

My other new favorites are “Nunca Pense” – his Latin dance moves are killer and I love how his band provided boy-band type dancing backup…

I also loved the new finger-snapping in one of my early favorites “Invincible”.

“Thunder” was a powerful performance, too! And seeing him sing “Spotlight Down” before my eyes was a treasure. So many favorites!
It was a perk getting to see Marlie from The David Chronicles and SnowAngelz, Deb and Refnaf again! DJbell is such a hoot online and in person. For the fans, it was like no time had passed. ❤
I have no idea if David is interested in having a role on Broadway but from my perspective, he looks ready. I can visualize him onstage in the play, “Dear Evan Hansen”. Anyone else?
Some things never change, especially the euphoric feeling you get when one of David’s shows is over. As I left the venue, that familiar feeling washed over me, reminding me that David Archuleta is truly one of the blessings in my life.

It’s here!
David’s and Nathan Pacheco’s duet of the cover of Ed Sheeran’s romantic ballad, “Perfect”! What a sweet surprise!
Usually you can’t get me to stop talking about how much I like one of David new songs or performances. This time, I’m at a loss for words. I’ve loved “Perfect” ever since I first heard Ed Sheeran sing it on YouTube a few months ago. My first thought back then was I wish David would sing it because the best romantic song sung by the voice of the best singer in all the land is the recipe for pure magic.
“American Idol” season seven runner-up David Archuleta and Madilyn Paige of “The Voice”
season six explore the delicate intricacies of relationships with the release of a new video for the duet, “Seasons.” A gorgeous ballad from Archuleta’s 2017 release “Postcards in the Sky,” “Seasons” is a “relationship song,” Archuleta tells Variety.
Directed by Dusty Barker, the two Utah natives never face each other, but share the same story from different points of view. While Archuleta is bathed in the shadows of dark blue light, Paige is seen from a sunnier perspective — a directorial decision that perfectly underscores the theme of the song.
“It was one of the first songs written for this project, and I felt like the woman in the relationship is the hopeful one while the guy is really negative,” says Archuleta. “It seems like a lot of times it’s harder for guys to stay committed to something whereas women usually are the ones who keep pulling through to the end.”
Co-written with Stephanie Mabey and Dustin Christensen, Arhuleta paints a picture using the imagery of all four seasons set against a piano arrangement that leaves enough room for both singers to convey fear and hope simultaneously.
“When the seasons change in our lives it’s harder to stay motivated to say you know we had a beautiful time in our life. We had a beautiful spring and summer, but now the fall is coming, and I don’t want to go to your winter again,” he says. “But the woman is able to endure longer, and Madeline’s voice is saying you know what? Winter is coming, and it’s hard, but spring comes after that, and if we stick through it we will be able to see the blooming of our lives again, and I know if we hang in there it’s going to be ok.”
Archuleta says he thought Paige would be a perfect vocal match to join him on record after he came across her performances from “The Voice,” including her season six chair-turning performance of “Titanium.”
“I just loved how she was this vulnerable — you know first impressions — small girl and fragile. Then I heard her sing this delicate version of ‘Titanium,’ and it really left an impression on me,” he says.
Intrigued, he looked up additional performances and then found a duet online, which sparked an idea to invite her to sing on his album. Says Archuleta: “She is a hopeful voice and that is her thing — she likes to help people know that they’re valuable because she deals with a lot of self-consciousness and issues and not feeling good enough, which is quite a theme today. And I love how she overcame it and was able to say I want to empower other people to help them know that they’re worth it. I thought what better voice for ‘Seasons’ where the message is this is worth it. This can work.”
Paige says that working with Archuleta felt natural. Both are from the same state, and both competed on national television shows. “We both know what it’s like to feel that pressure, and that competition,” she says. “It’s a whole other world.”
The two only met last year, but forged a friendship and toured together, with Paige opening for Archuleta in November, a night that he recalls included a standing ovation and a roaring crowd, both of which impressed him. The feeling is mutual. Says Paige: “I have so much respect for him and look up to him a lot. I’ve looked up to him since ‘Idol’ because he did that a few years before I did ‘The Voice.’ So he’s definitely been an example to me. He was the talk of the town, for sure, and to do a collaboration and feel like we’re supporting each other…it’s nice.”
Both artists aren’t slowing down in 2018. Paige is in the process of writing songs, while Archuleta is readying three projects—including a Latin project and another Christmas album. Plus, live shows, including a stop at Daryl Hall’s club, Daryl’s House, in Pawing, New York on March 3.
“I don’t know where I’m going next,” he laughs. “Ever since ‘American Idol,’ I have no idea where I’m going to go, but, I’ve enjoyed it. I’m always up for an adventure.”

David Archuleta has been a busy busy guy this last month. From concerts in Peru and Canada and things in between, so hard to keep up! Make sure you’re following David on instagram his instagram stories are epic! Who would have thought we’d find ourselves in the midst of all this a few years back!!! David seems to have come to terms with all his selves and they’re melding nicely 🙂
It looks like David will be taking some time for himself but come February through April he’ll be back on the road. Here is the list of concerts and links to purchase tickets as of now. Will be updating as new information becomes available. I’ve purchased tickets for Arizona and hoping for a performance anywhere in Southern California.
