The next leg of the tour started tonight at the Mesa Arts Center in Mesa, AZ.Β Our own djafan is there enjoying the show! Wonder where she is sitting.

Watching David sing I Can Only Imagine was the high point of my entire trip to Arizona. When he finished singing my first thought was “I need that song”. How great that when I came to The Voice there was the perfect video gift from Shelley. As I watched the video I was surprised to see Nick and Desmond on stage with David. It had been one of those performances where you only see David. To find Abrra had added it to the candy jar was awesome.
Grateful to Benjamin Moore.
Fen, for some reason it makes me smile to think of you diving into the “new stuff”. Waiting to see your response.

I’m thinking Amor Prohibido might appear on David’s Spanish album.
I want to tell you my version of an incident in Mesa. David is onstage with his band, the venue is packed, it is the middle of a beautiful, professional concert. Suddenly a woman in the middle of the audience hollers at David. Between English and Spanish it is established that she is the aunt of 2 missionaries David knew in Chile. Then the aunt asks if she can have a hug. We watch David’s quirky mind process this request. In what world would a fan be allowed to interrupt a concert? David’s world, of course. Auntie hustled herself down to the stage and David comes to the very edge. There is a 4 foot drop to the floor, with no access. Lady stands on tippy toes and David leans as far down as possible. Lady grabs
David and he almost falls in our laps. I can’t say I was hoping he wouldn’t. After the dust settled, David announced “That lady gives strong hugs!” and the music continued.
Jan I loved your “embedded in our memories” comment. We do have lovely memories with David as the main character.

Abrra, that’s a great picture for the puzzle. That’s just how beautiful it was there in the red rock canyon. Aside from the great amount of wind, it was an absolutely beautiful evening spent with David and the Band. Dang it! They are so good. That’s why I keep going back. β₯ I was sitting next to a young girl, probably 13 years old, who was soooo excited she just couldn’t contain herself. I could tell, before the concert started, that she had some concerns sitting next to an ‘old man and lady’. How awful could that possibly be to be sitting next to some great-grandparents at a David Archuleta concert?! I leaned over and looked right at her, and with a smile told her, “We’re old, but we are both David Fans, so you can scream and clap and dance all you want! It’s not gonna bother us!” She giggled and her older sister smiled and said “Thanks”. The younger girl had a great time with David!
David only gets better with each passing day. He’s become a true professional. And yet, he’s not a professional that you can’t relate to. Basically, his everyday life is just like the one that any of the rest of us would go through. His alarm goes off, he puts his pants on one leg at a time, he feels the ups and downs of physical and emotional situations, and he has to deal with them. Just like we do. And he lets us know that. I appreciate that. I love the fact that this young man that I admire so much is like me and he tells me that.
Yes, I’m glad to have been there. To have been inspired, once again, by David. He said some pretty intense things in his lead up to ‘I Can Only Imagine’. Words that gave me some strong stuff to ponder on. David has lived a lot of years in his short 27 years. He’s learned more than I have in my 67 years. I thank him for his insights that help me to work on situations in mine.
We had gone, on Thursday, to Monticello to see our daughter and her family (and to get our hair cuts). Monticello is on the extreme eastern border of Utah. We then traveled on Friday to St. George, which is on the extreme western border of Utah. There isn’t a direct route straight across from one side to the other, so we went in and out of Arizona and Utah 3 or 4 times before we landed in our hotel room. Oh, to have been a bird on that trip! It was an extremely long drive (ride for me), but I did see things in this beautiful state that I had NEVER seen before. One of those things was a 3+ mile hill that is at an 8% grade. Ron geared the car down (to avoid overheating the brakes) and down we went. Now, I’m a really wimpy person when it comes to steep, scary hills, that drop off one side, and that’s what this hill was. I can say I’ve done that and won’t ever need to do that again!!!
There are red, black, and gray rock formations that are incredible across those desert stretches. I wish you could all see them. Dja probably has in her travels to the state.
Tuacahn is a beautiful place to witness David Archuleta!! β₯β₯

David has a way of making everyone comfortable he is so down to earth. I think that is what everyone loves about him. No one feels beneath him…just a good ol’ boy. Someone you would want to hang out with and have fun.
Your trip to Monticello sounded like a “trip” all right. Quite a road trip for sure. When I was out there I got to see things that I never heard of before. Dayzee was so great showing all the good places. Just a lot more good memories. Thank you David and all his fans…they are the best.

There is some heavy stuff expressed or shall I say confessed in that post. It reads like something one of the sisters said on her IG. Nothing like the strong, spoken with conviction, attitude he showed in the I’m Alive video.

I agree with you 100%, Abrra. I felt like he was in a confessional when I was reading that. And right, he’s not unique in the things he was writing (telling) about. It’s just so strange that he put out there on social media. So unlike David and his ‘privacy act’. I’m not dissing on him about being private, either. I think more people need to be more private. Those are spoof emails. You should wave your mouse cursor over the address and you will be able to see who sent it. We do not do any emailing from this site. In fact, I can’t even get the system to send me copies of a post when someone comments.
Make sure you have an ad blocker extension on all your browsers . Pop up ads are the most common way for creeps to steal info. I once got a bad link from clicking on something innocent on Facebook. I get fake emails that show the name of people in my address book, but it’s just a link for something silly. I wave over the address and put it directly into spam folder.

I went to Yakima and Richland to see David. I lived in that area in 1944 and had not been back since, so I was curious. I had planned to go by myself, but at the last minute my granddaughter joined me. I could get her a ticket for Yakima, but Richland was sold out. David’s venue in Yakima was originally a church and had beautiful stained glass windows and a large stained glass dome up top. The stage was so shallow there was hardly any room for the drum set and David. Between the stage and the seating was a large tile-floored area, maybe 10 feet deep. The host invited us to ” take pics, videos and come down to the front and dance”. We all looked at each other. Mosh pit!! David looked a little uneasy with the group of fans crowding the stage, but after a suggestion that we not smother each other he put up with us. There were several young girls—maybe 8 to 12 years old—in the front. They were hanging on every word from David about how to be a beautiful person. There were fans I had not seen for years, probably 30 people I would label a “David friend of mine”.
Monday night my granddaughter dropped me off at Richland High and I went in by myself. No worries, I was sure I would know lots of people. Haha. I knew 6 people: the four on stage, Kari behind the stage and Emily at the merch table. When David asked who was there from the tri-city area everyone raised their hand. It seemed everyone knew everyone else but I didn’t know anyone. I figured they must all be wonderful people because they were David fans, right? Right! Made new friends and hope to see them again next time David goes to Richland. The lady next to me asked how to go about sponsoring some Holt kids. We went to see Emily after the show and this lady found 3 children to sponsor. I asked guitarist Nick for a playlist from the stage floor and I gave it to a teenage girl. No one there had thought of snatching one of those. She was delighted with her souvenir. I found someone to give me a ride to my hotel and we got to talk about David for half an hour. So much fun

I first heard David sing I Can Only Imagine at the Arizona concert this spring. He said was thinking about it that morning and decided he wanted to sing it for us. And so he would. Many of us were in tears when he finished. Then he went to Texas and I went home. I was hoping to be able to add this song to my music, and was delighted to find Abrra had added it to her fabulous jar.
A few days later we were at Tuacahn. We arrived at the venue in the afternoon and as soon as I was out of my car I could hear David singing that song. I hurried up the hill to hear him rehearse. He worked on that song for hours. That night he once again sang the song and once again we were filled with emotions. The next night I found they had closed off the area where David was practicing with the band. I could hear short pieces of I Can Only Imagine being sung over and over. That night with only Nick and Desmond with him on stage I listened to him sing that perfected performance. As the applause began to erupt, he picked up his stool and headed for the rear of the stage. With his back to us he was moving a few things around and talking to the band. At that time the entire audience was on their feet for a standing ovation. He continued to mess with stuff and I was afraid he would not see our appreciation. Finally he turned around, looked surprised and softly said “Thank you”. The love in that audience was overflowing. It meant a lot to me because I felt David had worked hard to make it so beautiful.

I felt inadequate to describe the performance but felt prompted to make the effort to share my gratitude for David’s gifts. I have been thinking about how David has impacted my life for ten years and still have no idea how he does it.

Dayzee, it’s because he is a ‘trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent’ person. Oh, and in scouts we like to add ‘and hungry’ to that. No, seriously, he lives those ideals and that makes him the kind of person that he is. And being that kind of person impacts us, under the radar so we never see it but we feel the reverberations. β₯
And yes, if he had sung no other song than “I Can Only Imagine”, I would have come away satisfied and wondering what just hit me. It was beautiful and from the depths of his soul. I felt it. β₯

Dayzee and Tawna, I agree with you both. And I hope I will get to hear him sing it live one day. As I watched the finales of American Idol and The Voice, it was entertaining but I always seem to compare them to David and they don’t hold a candle to him! Even the stars that sang…David beats them all!

Dayzee, I don’t know how he does it either and Tawna, I was hashing over all the descritive words and come up with another one that I like. We all know the X Factor but David has the IT Factor. Describes him to a T! π Maybe it isn’t new to some but it is to me. β₯

I took my daughter-in-law to the Friday night show at Tuacahn this year. It was her first time to see the live David although she has always been a supporter and loved his music. It was great fun to take her and she was a terrific David show companion. About the middle of the performance she told me she had no idea David was so intelligent. When it was over, she said it was wonderful but she was too emotional to put words together. The next morning she sent me this text:
“Real.
That’s the word I was trying to find to describe D.A.
He’s real
No pretense, nothing artificial. Real!”
Hey Tawna! BYU tickets?

However, I would need you to get us tickets, as we’ll be traveling on July 16th and I won’t have the laptop with me. Colbie Calliet!!! and David Archuleta!!! A-maze-ing!!!
And yes, your DIL nailed it … REAL!!!

Dayzee, your d-i-l came up with another great descriptive word for David. We have come up with up with so many of them and then someone comes up with another good one. π
Glad you all get to go to another good one. I seen Colbie here in KC a few years ago and she is great. Then to see her with David would be the best!

Abs, thanks for posting all the great photos of David and the very colorful puzzle. Those side pieces sure wanted to hide! π
I read he was in Hawaii at a wedding where he was playing ball. He has been a busy bee this week. My photos on my phone consist of family and David! My family knows that he is part of ours! π Photo wise anyway. π
Guess I get to go to the Arlington concert. Just bought me and my granddaughters tickets! π Now waiting for a good flight to Dallas. As luck would have it, my son and family will be in San Antonio that weekend. π¦
Have a great week everyone!

Yay, Jan!!!! Is it luck or the stars aligning that it’s all working out for you to get to Arlington. Either way, I’m so glad you can get there!! π
Abrra, thank you for your diligence with providing us with Sunday puzzles (and sometimes Saturday puzzles because you wake up thinking it’s Sunday.. haha π ). I haven’t been able to do today’s yet …. and insistent headache that won’t let me focus long (it’s starting to wind down).
Have a good week all!! β₯β₯

I was riding in my daughter’s car when I noticed she was singing along to Alessia Cara’s Scars. I told her the song was one of my favorites. She said it had been around a long time and she never much noticed it, but she had heard someone else sing it lately and it made her think about the lyrics and now she loved it. Huh. I said “That was David at Tuacahn.” “Oh yeah, it was.”

Tawna, don’t know if it’s the stars or luck, but it sure is work when things don’t want to fall in to place. π Especially when my son lives an hour away and he and family will be out of town that particular week end so won’t even get to see them. Now I have to fight the airlines to get a cheaper price. π lol
I have contacted a few fans from down there and will get to see them again. That is part of the concert experience….to meet up with the fans. π

By the way, have our flight booked, so it’s in the bag! π Yea!! And hoping one of his Christmas concerts is closer, like right here in KC. He had a fabulous one here about 6 or 7 yrs ago. Time sure flies!

So, Abrra, that’s a challenging puzzle!! Pretty though. Thank you!!
Way to go, Jan! Glad you got your flights taken care of. I’m so stupid on the flight issues that I just find something and go with it. I’m sure we could have booked a cheaper one for our summer vacation, but I don’t know how to play the game so I just took what I could find on that day. I did notice that right after I booked our flights, the same airline and the same flight number raised the seats next to us by several dollars. What a racket. Yes, Abrra, I’m getting on a plane. Just one way though from Philadelphia to SLC. It’s the TSA stuff that stresses me the most. Oh well, it will all be fine…. I keep getting told. π

It helps that I took a travel agent course and it is still nerve wracking. It is a racket alright!
Did anyone see the Pyramid tonight? They were going for the big money and the clue was “famous David’s” and the girl named Cook and Archuleta! Yea! I was fist pumping and cheering to hear his name affiliated on national tv! π

Some BTS video from the new song out by Peter Hollens and David.
New video out today. Peter Hollens and David sing a duet of Loch Lomond. Very pretty Scottish song.

Peter Hollens & David Archuleta’s Loch Lomond Lyrics
By yon bonnie banks and by yon bonnie braes,
Where the sun shines bright on Loch Lomond,
Where me and my true love will never meet again,
On the bonnie, bonnie banks of Loch Lomond.
O you take the high road, and I’ll take the low road,
And I’ll be in Scotland afore ye,
But me and my true love will never meet again,
On the bonnie, bonnie banks of Loch Lomond.
‘Twas there that we parted, in yon shady glen,
On the steep, steep side of Ben Lomond,
Where in soft purple hue, the hieland hills we view,
And the moon coming out in the gloaming.
O you take the high road, and I’ll take the low road,
And I’ll be in Scotland afore ye,
But me and my true love will never meet again,
On the bonnie, bonnie banks of Loch Lomond.
The wee birdies sing and the wildflowers spring,
And in sunshine the waters are sleeping.
But the broken heart it kens, nae second spring again,
Though the woeful may cease from their grieving.
O you take the high road, and I’ll take the low road,
And I’ll be in Scotland afore ye,
But me and my true love will never meet again,
On the bonnie, bonnie banks of Loch Lomond.

A very nice video with David and Peter (looks like they got the horse to mind its business). Their harmonies are amazing. It’s a good thing I enjoy listening to David and Peter, and that the tune is pretty on this song, because the lyrics are really depressing. However, I did order a copy of the single. I may, at some time, go back and order the entire album, or a few of the singles from it. Boy, ‘House of the Rising Sun’ is definitely not the same (even in the same building) as when The Animals did it back in the 60’s. But then, nothing is quite like it was back in the 60’s. π

Yesterday i was so excited for new David music. Went to find Peter’s music list and there was Loch Lomond. Made a quick purchase. When I played it on my phone there was no David. What? Took a closer look and found it was a 2016 version with Peter and his friends. Didn’t take me long to get that straightened out.
Getting ready for the Sandy show tonight. My friend will drive and park. I feel pampered. Anticipation of David’s shows make me too nervous to drive.
Jan, so tickled you have everything in place for Texas Yay for you!

Dayzee …. I noticed the ‘extra’ Loch Lomond. Actually, there are two on Peter’s latest album. One with David and the other with probably he, himself, and him doing all of the parts.
Have a ton of fun and excitement tonight (I know you will). π

Wow, if that isn’t a whole lot of smooth honey coming out of the the Archuleta mouth! Even the humming was awesome! π Looks like they had a lot of fun making the video too. Haven’t bought the album but I will. They done sooooo good on that song even if it is a sad one.
Yea, Dayzee, I know you had fun tonight…I am jealous…lol π And I am happy that things are in order for the my trip. I keep wanting to start packing and it’s 6 weeks away! π Will probably be hot, but we are having super hot weather here in KC now. It is summer after all! π
House of the Rising Sun is on the album? I wouldn’t think it would be as good as The Animals, Tawna, but like you said nothing is like it was in the 60’s.

I got Peter Hollens cd and love the Loch Lomond with David. It is so good, but the one without David sounds so plain. Some of the songs I like and some of them I don’t. David, I love. I just can’t get used to another singer…David has me spoiled! π Can’t wait for his new Christmas album. β₯
