Kristin, My grandmother used to ask me, “look at my hand, I have four fingers and a thumb, do any of them resemble each other?” I’d say no, of course. She would respond ” that’s how our children are, all mine but not one alike” Very true. So I apply it to many areas of my life. For instance here, we are all David fans but none of us are alike in our fangirling and nothing wrong with that 🙂 All are welcomed to share their unique voices we may agree or we may not but we still love that one guy we’re all fans of.
And thank you for bring that tweet over. So scary, hope all turns out well. Prayers to all involved.

Dja, appreciate the thought and that is so true. I definitely was a sheltered child XP thus why my final two years of college were kind of a culture shock LOL but hey we respected everyone’s thoughts and opinions as best we could. I said what I did because of being, sadly, one of the few young fans still around all this time. I know there are others on Twitter or instagram and even Facebook, but comment wise I feel like a fish out of water XP Plus, I’m only 23 but I am pretty serious…and mellow. The only time I ever fangirled was for the Jonas Brothers. That’s why I joke I think I skipped a phase because that never happened any other time. Excited and enthusiastic? Oh yeah absolutely ask my friends and they’ll tell ya lol. Who knows, maybe that’ll change when I finally see David but those screams will be those of “it’s about freaking time!!!”
Yes, at the end of the day, we still love this goofball that likes to try our patience and kill us off with a smile like the cat eating the canary when your back is turned. Should see me when he winks in posts I like to teasingly shake my fist at him (in my head) cos I don’t like winking men lol!!!

Today I had some work done on my car. I handed my keys to the mechanic, a tough old bird. He gave me a big smile. “Oh, that’s David Archuleta. I’ve been following him. He’s a real neat kid.”
Sorry to hear Jon’s daughter is missing. Frightening.

Hi all! I’m trying to cool off a bit from being too obsessive about David. I’ve been going to other concerts, listening to other artists. It’s been fun but of course, I still love David and his music.
I saw a quote “The secret of happiness is to admire without desiring” by Carl Sandburg. I think that’s a good one. I have an obsessive personality so it’s easy for me to cross the line from enthusiastic to obsessive. Before you all picture Kathy Bates in “Misery”, I’d like you to know that I’m a vegan who feels guilty about killing ants. I would never bother David in person outside of concert events.
I just need to cool off a bit in my brain. Have any of you experienced that?
I feel very badly about Jon’s daughter. I hope she is just lost and will be found soon.

Going to Branson, MO. for a week but I’m taking my lap top so I will be keeping up. Heck I keep up with you on my phone but for a week the laptop will be better. 🙂

No need to apologize for what you want to say here. Most of us were trying to back off some when David was on Am Idol because we felt the same way you do now. You have very common feelings when discovering a new artistic sensation. It can become brain overload.
If you want proof of what I am saying, go back in our archives and read the comments. Some even felt a bit of relief when he turned 18 because he was no longer a “child”. We just love the person/artist he was and still is. Nothing wrong about it.

I too have been attending non-David events. I enjoy them and spending time with family who aren’t David-nuts, but it is just not the same. For one thing, when I am purchasing tickets online, my fingers do not shake. I don’t have to watch for the beginning sale date and get up early and check out the seller site to be sure I get my tickets. I am not making long drives, not making hotel reservations. Not checking out the venue to see where to park, where my seats are. The intensity is not there.
And good luck with the cooling off thingy. I will see you at Tuacahn, right? I will wear that gift from SB, the black wrist band. Just because I love it.

Jan, I see you are dragging David with you to Branson. If it weren’t for David would you even have a laptop? I remember when I first got on this David train I used to take a photo of David with me when I traveled. I would tape it to the motel room mirror. That was before I had a phone full of pictures.

As wonderful and touching other artists may be, I feel the same as you, there is something so special and unique about David’s singing to me.
Yes!, I will be at Tuacahn and it’s less than 2 weeks away!! All these little kids are coming at me with sniffles and I am arming myself with Airborne tablets and lots of sleep.
Lol, I love the thought of Jan going out and buying a laptop just for David stuff!
I’m glad to have such kind group of David loving people!

Jenny, PLEASE don’t apologize for what you said you were fine!! I always get that feeling too whenever I comment somewhere and sometimes post a follow-up comment saying I don’t mean to be harsh or say sorry myself etc etc. Heck, that’s why when the Christmas tour came out and I felt as I did that I commented here. Dja, Abrra and everyone here do great work, are kind as can be and so sweet and encouraging :). It made such a difference.
I haven’t been attending non-David events exactly, more planning things, with the exception of an awards ceremony at my alma mater for my former major adviser and professor who received a distinguished teaching award this year. She so deserved it and it was so great to catch up with her since graduation! I mostly been giving David’s music a break, because of my emotions and it just felt better to distance myself. That’s why I’ve been debating when he tours again to disappear for a while so if I have a rough day, I don’t accidentally lash out at someone who’s having fun at one of his shows because when I saw excited fans, it made me jealous and pretty…bitter. Resentful. Not gonna lie guys, I could have handled it better. God got the brunt of my pain and anger though, David…I try my best not to. I also have been dealing with sadness, too. My mom keeps noticing how sad I’ve been lately and so do my friends. I’m just glad when I need to vent or talk with someone, I can always come here. It feels like layers to me: all of these feelings lately: first was the disappointment and defeat, then the rage and anger, and now I’m on sadness. I just hope joy and hope is at the bottom and can be found again. But at least, in my heart, I have gotten over it and don’t feel heaviness or coldness anymore, that was awful. Very, very awful. With National Novel Writing Month coming up in November I plan to participate this year since I have time. Also, a webinar I participated in last night helped me feel better regarding my blog so I will be focusing on that too. Plus reading I have some books that need to be read here lol!! Will keep job searching, keep writing, and just give myself time to feel hopeful again. Thing is, I’m a lot stronger than people think, and I somehow find my way back. It just takes more time for me. I don’t see it as a cooling off; but more time to recenter and remember why I still care and love this goofball whose winking in tweets drives me nuts LOL
Jan, I went to Branson with family over 10 years ago. Was nice, but not one of our fav places. Was still worth the visit though!! (I would be careful about posting where you’re going and how long because you don’t want someone breaking in to your house when you’re gone.)

This makes me smile because it really is iconic. David A displaying his dry wit and David C smirking with delight at most things that came out of David A’s mouth. I always enjoyed seeing them together. There is true brother love going on. David C was the straight man and David A was the unknowing foil.

I had a dream last night that David was in briefly and talking to me, then his Abulita gave me a hug, and then Amber was my BFF. It had something to do with a concert, but was so screwy that when I woke up I was in that ‘what was that all about’ kind of stupor. That’s what I get for sleeping in.
I love that clip of D&D. Cuteness overload with those two. I wonder if they still stay in touch much?
It boggles my brain, that Tuacahn is just a couple of weeks away and David is still playing with his new music. Does he finish things up just before he walks onto the stage?! Seriously, how does he work?! What makes him tick?! That’s what we love about this man …. his mystery that is sprinkled with mischief! ♥♥
I certainly hope there are some good videos that happen from Tuacahn to introduce us to these surprises that we’ve been waiting for. The end of November can’t come soon enough for me to see him!

I think David will release new music before Tuacahn. Recording and producing I’m sure is time consuming, especially for a perfectionist like David. I’m sure he’s rehearsed the songs w the band already.

Love the puzzle Abs! I was really upset earlier when my laptop wanted to act up and wouldn’t work right. Couldn’t even get into this sight on my daughter’s computer to do the the puzzle. I thought, oh well, have to do 2 next week. Then I thought I would try one more time and a miracle….I got in. 🙂 Sometimes the internet doesn’t want to get along with me down here! 🙂
Oh wow, Abs, that is my all time favorite of the 2 David’s. It is so funny! 🙂 Laughing with David, not at him. Never liked the Little Boy Faunterloy look on him though.
Kristin, Branson isn’t for anyone, I guess. It’s what ever floats your boat. 🙂 It’s only a few hours from home and it’s a good place to get away and has tons of music venues. Hope I don’t have to worry about my house as my kids are a few houses away and I have home security. They get my mail and check on it every day. Also, my granddaughter runs a daycare right next door. 🙂 I don’t think anyone on here knows where I live, I sure wouldn’t broadcast It on FB though. 🙂

Dayzee, I can do everything on my phone but the puzzle…too small. And I love those puzzles! Yes my phone is full of David’s photos, probably have more of him than my grandkids….shhhh! haha 🙂 I see my kids all the time and seeing David is only in photo shots, so I save the special ones.
