I saw a note from Kari that they were working on VIPs for the Sandy and Orem shows, but had lost hope as the dates were almost here. Then an email came saying that David had added another show! I got all excited, but found it was the Saturday night Sandy show. I often get notices of new shows that I already have tickets for so I just deleted and went to bed. 
After midnight, half asleep, I thought “VIP”! I was pretty sure I had seen VIP on that notice. Fired up the computer and went to David Archuleta, went on to Tickets, and there was Sandy VIP on the list. Could not remember how long ago that email came. Was devastated to think I might be too late. Gave it a shot and the next thing I knew I had a ticket for my first VIP since pre-mission. No sleeping for me after that.
Having never been to that venue, I arrived for the 6:00 pm M&G at 2:30. Always my biggest fear at a new place is not being able to park. I was lucky. The parking lot was almost empty. However, I was not the first to get in line. Kari came out and gave us paper to write questions for David.
When 5 o’clock came Kari and Amber ushered us in and we saw an empty stage from the first row seats. The band came out immediately and played some music and talked about the heat. David soon joined us and gave us greetings. His face lit up and he had a big smile as he waved at a newcomer. The band all joined in with the waving. David shared with us that they were waving at Brady’s baby girl. David sang 2 songs and answered some o
f the questions written by fans.
We stood in line by the back door of the stage and went inside in groups of 3 or 4 for picture taking. We handed our cellphones to Kari and then came the magical moment of standing next to David. There is an overwhelming feeling that everything in this space is good. David’s aura is an extreme comfort. There is no looking on the dark side with David.
The Monday night M&G in Orem was even better. Shelley of video fame had told me she wouldn’t be able to go, but it was not a surprise to see her arrive with her granddaughter a
nd camera. There were only 13 of us. One fellow had come from Boston. Great to have Tawna and Ron. Such a shame that it was so hot. So hot that we all had to squeeze into a small room with David and the band and Bri practically sitting on our laps. The drummer was next to me and I could see his hands in constant motion. Sometimes with sticks, sometimes just his hands playing a beat.
“Mirrors” was the first song and Bri joined in for that and then excused herself. Really liked her. David sang “Who I Am” and again answered fan questions and added a “Happy Birthday” song.
We all hung out with the band while waiting our turn for pics with David. My friend had quite a crush on Chad and he posed for pictures with her. We were the last ones to take pics with David. He was in a tiny area, standing in front of a cinderblock wall. An unglamorous setting, but shake a little David dust on there and it becomes marble and gold. A dark little corner, but David was glowing.
I thanked him for giving me all these friends I met at VIPs. He said, “Yes. We have lots of good people.”

Dayzee, you are truly the bright spot in my flower garden!! I love being at David events with you because you are so calm. Oh, I know, you’re a bubbling mess inside (that’s a compliment), but on the outside you just smile and joke around. You keep me thinking straight! 🙂 Don’t change that!!
Yes, it was unfortunate that the weather, in Utah, was so unseasonably hot thru that time period. At least we didn’t have humidity to accompany the heat. But, it’s Utah!! It was so fun to get to mingle with the band in those close quarters. Hey, we can actually say we were breathing David’s air .. not just the same air! 🙂
David moves with a well-oiled machine, I must say. Kari knows her job and she does it over-the-top well!! If she gets flustered, you’d never see it. Amber seems to be a very good under-study to Kari. What a pleasant girl she is. And, she definitely loves her brother! ♥ It’s so obvious that everyone in David’s battalion consider him the man in charge. He is definitely in control of the operation, but what a joy he must be to work with. So pleasant and sincere. His smiles are not pasted on, they are the r.e.a.l deal. He just never seems to be in a hurry to get to the next spot, even though you know he’s on a time schedule. And that, in a nutshell, is why I love David Archuleta. He’s not mine to own, but he allows me to own the energy, the happiness, and the spirit of loving that he shares with me — with all of us. Who could ask for more?! ♥♥

FYI, I get the similar feeling from you that I felt around David – relaxed, genuine kindness. Thoughtfulness and reserve that filter out judgment and negativity.

I always love your posts and comments, Dayzee. I know they are from the heart, with the feeling that I have enjoyed when I have been with you and Tawna and Dja and all the rest that love David! He has the light that he talks about wanting in a girl! 🙂 His joy expands to every moment with the fans and I love the feeling I get when listening to David sing..and talk! Don’t know if I will ever get to see another VIP…they are so far and few between. So glad you guys got to go and Tawna, with 13 crammed in a small space I would say you all were just about breathing the same air! 🙂
Don’t think I’ll be able to come out to Tuachan this year. Hate to miss it because it was awesome last year, but right now it’s not in the cards. Unless my boat comes in..lol

This was so much fun for me to relive the Meet n Greets. I felt so happy to be able to attend two of those awesome times. Cloud walking before and after. Great to see those Shelley videos again. Yes, Dja, that is me telling David he is going to Safford when he couldn’t come up with the name of the Arizona city. And then he mentioned I knew a lot. The word “stalker” came to my mind and I was hoping I would not be accused. Relieved when he went on to something else. My defense is that every one in that room must have known where he was going.
Tawna, I thought YOU were the calm one. Haha You were leaning on me and I was leaning on you. That’s what friends are for, right?
Jenny, it was so good to spend time with you at the luncheon. Hope we can do that again. Tuacahn?
Jan, surely we will be going places together some time. We’ve had too much fun chasing David. I’m hoping for Nashville.
TaterZen, when I think of David in Idaho I always think of you enabling the fans to get together. Those are such precious times. Because as David said, “We have lots of good people”. That was a room full of truly nice folks. My favorite people to hang out with are David people.
The friend I went to the Orem M&G is from Thailand and has an exotic name. David told her that was a pretty name. I asked her yesterday why she never mentioned that, because if he had said that to me I would have been bragging to her. She looked confused. “He said that?” Haha. Another case of too-close-to-David coma.

When I go to concerts I call folks by their real name. Djafan calls me Abrra, even on the phone! I think she loves Abrra. Bebe always calls me by me real name. I do the same for her.
At this point, those non fans who didn’t know that I am a fan, will never know. I only share with people who are interested enough to ask me what he is up to lately.
Last week I played He Showed Me How for my client. She loved it so much she wanted to buy it on iTunes. Long story short, she spent a hour on the phone with Apple because her password didn’t work. She did get it resolved and bought the song. She isn’t a fan, but she knows a great song (and singer) when she hears it.

I didn’t see you at Orem either but I was busy tending to my squirmy younger son. I felt guilty – I hope it didn’t cause distraction for David because we were pretty close to stage.he enjoyed first 30 min of David’s portion – Orem show had at least an hour wait before David started playing if I remember correctly!

Those hugs are to die for! I am so fortunate to be in the “hug club”! Got one at my first VIP! Don’t remember if it was a one or two armed one though. Who thinks of things like that at a time like that. 🙂 My sister was with me, I’ll ask her if she remembers. 🙂

Poor Kari. When I flew out to SLC via Las Vegas in March, I had a similar thing happen to me and was a few hours late for Dayzee to pick me up. Felt so bad for her since she is a morning person and it was 11pm when I landed. They gave me 4 different gates to go to for the connecting flight before I found out the right one and naturally missed my flight. Thankful there was another one going out that night.
Dja, still waiting patiently for something to happen. 🙂 The excitement will be over the top when he does announce something. “I get all tingly just thinking about it!” 🙂 Where have I heard that before??? 🙂

Looking at the Alex Boye huggie pics I was thinking of Tawna who does not put her arm around David even when standing next to him for a photo. Haha. I am taking lessons from Alex. Don’t know if I could survive a two-arm hug, but maybe I could try for a longer time frame. Looks like Alex hugs last 10 minutes. Or more. I see he had himself a long term hug, then changed his outfit and hugged again. Wow.

Packing up my stuff today. Going to Las Vegas to tend the cat for a couple of weeks while my son travels. My son and his wife are both left-handed and last time it was difficult opening the cat food with their odd left-handed can opener. They have promised me pop-tops now.

That song sounds like a lot of fun. Perhaps one where David tells us we can get out of our seats and jump around. I was at Tuacahn picturing in my mind what we might be doing in November. Oh boy!
It is so hot here in Vegas and I think back to how freezing cold we were last November at Tuacahn. We had our winter parkas and blankets and scarves but we were still soooo cold. Until David appeared on the stage. Then we felt fine but we all worried about David & company being uncomfortable. Hot or cold, I am looking forward to 3 evenings with David.
I appreciate the puzzles Abrra. They are part of the framework that keeps my life in order. If it’s Sunday, there must be a David puzzle.

Hubby and I went to a concert in the park this past Monday where the Truman Brothers played. It was so much fun. They are a very talented duo, and it was fun to see Chad Truman working with his brother Ben. Ben is kind of the spokesperson, and he mentioned how he has to really keep on his toes to keep up with his talented, keyboard playing, younger brother whose been playing for David Archuleta on his tour.. woot, woot! He also mentioned how they are scheduling their time together around David’s upcoming concerts … woot, woot! Loved it! Loved them! If you get a chance, check them out. 🙂

Today I was paying at a cash register and the clerk looked into my purse and her eyes grew big. “Who is that handsome fellow?” She was reaching into my purse to retrieve my famous keychain. Can you believe it? “He is really handsome” she said as she flipped the pic to the other side for another view of David. Now I am usually happy when someone says nice things about David, but getting into my purse? My first reaction was wanting to tell her to get her hands off MY David, but I quickly forgave her. How could she resist? When I told her it was David Archuleta she looked mystified. Perhaps she is looking him up on her computer tonight.

Oh my gosh, Dayzee. I would have been giving her an odd look as she was reaching in my purse too! But, he has a way of drawing people to him no matter where he is at! 🙂 Once the receptionist at the dr’s office asked me who was that on my phone case and I told her David Archuleta, the best singer ever. She just said that’s who I thought it was. 🙂

SMH that kids can’t use Google or are they simply too lazy?
As I am scrolling I am noticing lately that porn tweets are showing up tagging his Twitter name and his real name. I am reporting them to Twitter and blocking them. Not going to elaborate on the content, but I don’t advise clicking one. It’s almost a sacrilege to use his name like this. I am sure other celebrities suffer the same abuse of their name, but somehow it feels worse seeing his name shamed in such a way.

Oh boy! “finishing up songs” he says. Not writing, not working on, but “finishing” Yayy At the Sandy meet n greet someone asked David if he would sing just a line from one of his new songs. He gave us that mischievous grin and sang a line from Numb.
Just a thought about the woman who put her hand in my purse to reach David. We have always seen people reaching out to touch David. This was like an extension of that impulse.
