Hope you all have an incredible and safe fourth of July from everyone here at The Voice. David blessed us with a beautiful rendition of “God Bless America” at his recent concerts and nothing is better than David Archuleta singing patriotic songs. Β The audio in this one is beautiful.

Thank you, Dja for the awesome videos. As I said before, David now owns God Bless the USA! It’s beautiful from his clear voice and heartfelt patriotic pride in the USA!
I, too, wish you all a very safe and happy 4th of July, whether you celebrate big, or like me keep it simple. β₯β₯

David checks in with a song. π Coincidence?
Below the video on his channel is reads:

On this 4th of July I decided to post a video from a show from last month in Rexburg, Idaho of the song God Bless the U.S.A.. I’m grateful to live in a land where so many milestones have been set for this world’s generation. Grateful that the men who founded this country prioritized establishing it on God, Liberty, and Religious Freedom. Thank you to all those who have fought for the rights we have today!
I put mp3 and mp4 in Abrra’s Candy Jar.

Catching up here after a hectic week with family coming to visit for the holiday. They all leave today to return to work tomorrow. Seems funny they come for the 4th, but they won’t be here for the 4th.
Yayyy!! I got my wish for David singing patriotic songs. I was at Rexburg and watching him sing God Bless the USA was awesome, but the videos are necessary for me to remember just how great he was. No one can inspire me like David. Had to open up my Kleenex box. And Jan brought us one of my favorites. Always loved that rendition with the beautiful and unique display of the flag by the marines. And My Country Tis of Thee was amazing with the pics of the returning soldiers on the jumbo screen and David adding lines from America the Beautiful. After watching David in his red, white and blue I dug out my July shirt. This has made my day. Thank you all.
Tawna, hope your neck is doing well.

Thank you for these newest videos and the additions to the candy jar! Thank you BYU-I for letting David have this video so we could have it. Thank you David for the very poignant words on the IG video. They really are beautiful.
Thanks, friends, my neck is progressing each day. I thank God for the miracle of modern medicine and a surgeon that took care of some pains that have gone on for years. (now it’s just the surgical pain that I’m feeling) I’m one of those who won’t be a prescription drug user/addict …. I can’t tolerate them, so it’s me and Tylenol against the pain. *things ARE gonna get better π
Remembering Jen Leigh Barry today. β₯β₯ What a horribly hard and trying year Christian and Sean have had.

What a surprising gift from David. I didn’t get the coincidence mention by Abrra but hmmmmm …. could it be? Who knows lol.
A little numbers here from God Bless The USA.
Instagram 20.9k
Facebook 90k
Youtube 7,568k
Total in a day 118,468k
These numbers, the timeline and to just throw out a video out got me thinking that if these numbers are possible without any publicity or promo of any type, when the planned music comes out with these things in place it will go very well. And of course he has us π

βAmerican Idolβ Star David Archuleta Sings βGod Bless The U.S.A.β For July 4th (VIDEO)
True to form, David delivers a rich vocal that really shows off his range. This is without even getting into how emotional this gets. Seriously, I had goosebumps towards the end of this. Hell, I donβt even particularly like this song all that much, but David really brought it to life for me as more than just a patriotic song. I absolutely loved this.

βAMERICAN IDOLβ SEASON 7 FINALIST DAVID ARCHULETA COMES BACK WITH A COVER FOR THE 4TH OF JULY
Though American Idol had finished the entire series from its last idol Trent Harmon. The persuasion to stop, however, did not cut hopes for fans. Some bear witness to the continuous career of idols that had shared their inspiring journey in the competition. For Season 7 finalist David Archuleta, the stage is still open. He had recently introduced a cover song he dedicated for the 4th of July.

His own rendition of God Bless the U.S.A by Lee Greenwood had moved a lot of followers. His compelling, heartfelt and soulful rendition gives proper respect to the Independence day.

David Archuleta had this to mention:
βIm grateful to live in a land where so many milestones have been set for this worldβs generation. Grateful that the men who founded this country prioritized establishing it on God, Liberty, and Religious Freedom. Thank you to all those who have fought for the rights we have today!β, sources DavidArchuleta.
The cover song was taken from last monthβs performance at Hart Auditorium in Rexburg, Idaho. Archuleta only got the chance to post the video on the day itself, Ricky.org reports.
But with the great music coming from the artist, itβs only a matter of time until fans ask the question. When will the 25-year old David Archuleta release another album?
A resounding βyesβ is what sources say. It appears that the artist has been working on the right blend of songs and music for a comeback. The artists intends to have it released for the public this 2016.
With this exciting update, expect that the American Idol will change his image from sweet to the mature. The growing artist started his journey when he was 16 years old and heβs still undergoing a lot of changes for the better. Fans are surely waiting to see more of him in the future and hopes that this new buzz will open doors for him.

I’m going to post something I normally don’t … maybe some of you can go and leave a nice comment? π
This from MJ’s.
Incipit β’ a day ago
“I am able to get as overtly patriotic as the next person on the 4th of July, I usually reflect on the three Presidents who died, two within hours of each other, on this date, and the question, “How stands the Union?” and what it signified to them.
But I wish Archie had picked a different song than this one. Kind of a remake, a knock off of a better constructed song, “God Bless Americaβ β βFrom the mountains/To the prairies/To the oceans white with foamβ is replaced with βFrom the lakes of Minnesota/To the hills of Tennessee/Across the plains of Texas/From sea to shining sea.β …and the shining seas are a direct lift from ” America the Beautiful”.
It doesn’t have much scope for his vocals, and it’s a song that’s been used as a list of talking points by too many jingoistic opportunists for me to enjoy it very much. JMO.
Al Incipit β’ 15 hours ago
“I thought it was pretty terrible. And I’m a big Archie fan. I don’t understand what was going on with his Vibrato? Why would he change it? This, if my count is correct, is about the fourth iteration of his voice since we saw him blast onto the national scene. He seems to try to reinvent his voice with each and every turn, but why? With something so perfect, why do you mess with it? Quite disturbing actually. For there seems to be an identity crisis.”

I don’t particularly like that song, but I really enjoyed David’s performance of it.
I thought it was beautiful and heart felt.
He does have a little quiver in his voice that’s more pronounced sometimes than others, I don’t know whether that’s intentional or not. That never bothers me.
I didn’t notice it in his recent concerts ( I heard him at Tuacahn, Queencreek, Chapman, Sandy and Orem) – I wasn’t at Rexburg. His voice was absolutely beautiful.
What I love most about david is the emotion he puts into the music. That’s what music is all about, right? But I guess I’m preaching to the choir here.
A little vibrato equals identity crisis? Gees, going overboard much?
Many many more people loved it than not, can’t please everyone!
Okay, gotta go. Little more me and less David, lol. Let’s see how long that lasts.

The first time I heard this song was when my second child was in Elementary school and they sang it for a Patriotic program. I really liked the song because the kids were so into it, and loved it, and were so proud of themselves (mama burst some buttons and shed a tear that day). Then when I really paid attention to the lyrics when I heard Lee Greenwood sing it, they caught hold with me and I still had a liking for the song. Then I heard Lee Greenwood sing it live, and it killed it for me. Honestly it did, and it was at a Boy Scout encampment! I did still like the song for it’s meaning, but never really enjoyed listening to it. Now, I re-like hearing it sung when David sings it. He put a new heart into it. It’s kind of back at the Elementary school level where the kids sang it with passion. I have no idea about the ins and outs of music theory and all of that, but I do know that I enjoy David’s theories on music. He’s not out there to give us a technically perfect performance of any of the songs. Remember when he told Dean Kaelin, during AI, that he had just wanted the audience to feel what he felt in one of the songs – I don’t even remember which song it was. He’s out there to give us his feelings, his story, his spirit. So, if it sounds like he’s doing different things (he probably is) then let it continue. I just kinda don’t think he’s into an identity crises. I just kinda think he has different tunes movin’ to a different beat and it’s great. π JMO
And no, Dja, I’m not going to go and try to be nice over there at MJ’s. That’s just screaming for a rebuttal and it’s not coming from me. I’ll just let that hornet’s nest remain calm.

When I was young every time a Perry Como song came on the radio I would prepare myself for my father’s rant. His big complaint was that when Perry Como sang every song sounded the same. I knew many people liked Perry Como and that was when I figured out “music is selective” as Dja pointed out. When David came along I was sorry my dad was not still with us, because I was sure he would have loved the many facets of David. How many times will David “reinvent his voice”? Lots of times I hope, because I love them all.
This complaint reminded me of when the first video of David singing O Holy Night appeared. Some poor fellow complained that David took too long between the two syllables of di—vine at the very end. The rest of us were gobsmacked. I thought is was sad that the only thing that fellow took away from that performance was the too-long split of a word.
The gift of that video was the best thing to happen to me. David must love us to give us this wondrous music.
Jenny, good luck with that “less of David” idea. I just know it never works for me.

I’m allergic to Zyrtec too…and that is for allergies! π I sure could have used Dr. David and his music but it was 2 yrs before he was on AI!
16..Dja, don’t understand either! David’s music is never horrible! He even said one time that “you can’t please them all, there is always someone that hates you, no matter what you do”! I just go with the flow…he sings, I listen! π
17…the only quiver I hear in his voice is when he is real emotional and is trying not to cry. Even tho he does sometimes and that’s alright, cause he makes us emotional and cry too!

(Still gone. Miss you guys!)
Glad your neck is healing, Tawna! Dayzee, that has to be one of your best rants!! I love it and I miss you. ^_^
Goofy-guy (my name for grumpy poster person) has most likely listened to only one song from DA in the last three years or so and this was it. Silly.
Needs to eat his DA Cheerios. ^_^
My sister-in-lawβs favorite musician is BB King. She has been valiantly fighting MS for 30 years plus and can no longer move anything but her head. She is bright and so marvelously cheerful, yet in almost constant pain. Sheβs having some memory problems so I try to always take things she loves. So I take music.
I have a blue-tooth Sony speaker I lay on her tummy, then I turn on the BB King. The look on her face is worth it.
So the last week or so, we have branched out into other music and I decided to take the leap and play DA, something about as foreign to her tastes as you could get. I played Angel from his last album. I played be still my soul, and the Prayer with Nathan.
Tears. I am grateful.
That is all.
Bless everyone.

You heard correctly. Thank you for expressing your opinion. My opinion is that he felt in the moment that he wanted to add a special thank you in the spirit of patriotism. The song is about at patriotic as it gets.
Is it any wonder why David shuns away from fame? His every word is dissected and often criticized. I am sure the “Troops” he thanked, did fight for his right to say what he feels in his heart while on stage.

I looked back at my post and it sounds sadder than I meant it to. My sister-in-law listened to the “prayer” then said (in effect), that young man was blessed with a great gift. She has really enjoyed the pieces I have played for her. She cries, but they are good tears.
I am grateful that DA was brave enough to share his gift. Sharing his gift means being true to himself. And yes Angel, it is the harder road. But it is absolutely the easier one as well. ^_^
With DA, what you see and hear – is what you get. And that is a miracle.
I can decide for myself if the product of his path is worthy of my attention. I know that whatever he offers has been considered, weighed, chosen for multiple reasons, and offered from a full, honest, and generous heart.
Would that I might strive to do the same. ^_^
