David James Archuleta (born December 28, 1990) is an American singer-songwriter and actor. At ten years old, he won the children's division of the Utah Talent Competition leading to other television singing appearances.[6] When he was twelve years old, Archuleta became the Junior Vocal Champion on Star Search 2.[6] In 2007, at sixteen years old, he became one of the youngest contestants on the seventh season of American Idol.[7] In May 2008 he finished as the runner-up, receiving 44 percent of over 97 million votes.
We hope this Season brings you joy and warmth as you reflect on all of the blessings in life. Looking forward with you, to what’s ahead in 2016!!Β Wishing you a holiday full of love and joy with your loved ones. And the gift of The Prayer to us all.
Wishing the Merriest of Christmases to all my friends here at The Voice. You are often in my thoughts. ^_^
May the New Year bring joy to you and to those you love. β€
May the sweet sounds of The Voice bind, heal, comfort, and inspire you as you gather together now, and plan for future times and challenges. You are good people! Thank you for just being who you are!!
Dear DA: Thanks for hanging in there. Thanks for sheltering your heart until it gained the legs to stand before us once again and proclaim its Voice.
A warm Merry Christmas wish to everyone here. I look forward to my visit/s here each day! β₯β₯
Bluesky said it best….. “Dear DA: Thanks for hanging in there. Thanks for sheltering your heart until it gained the legs to stand before us once again and proclaim its Voice. I am very grateful to you this Christmas.” I love this statement!!
To all the wonderful admins and fans at The Voice, may your Christmas be the merriest ever and may the New Year bring you happiness, good health, success in all you do, and lots of love.
May it also bring many DA sightings, songs and smiles! David, you are a blessing in all our lives!
Love to all of you and hoping to see some of you at the Arizona concert in March. Happy Holidays!!!
What a great Christmas and birthday for David, being listed 3 times in the top 100 in Billboard! And hanging in there, The Prayer just isn’t going anywhere and I love that.
I’m still hoping that David will appear on American Idol this final year. He is one of the main parts! The best part as far as I’m concerned! π Glad for the recognition from Michael Orland!
By the way, they are doing another David trend on his birthday, Mon. Dec 28th. It’s Happy Birthday David Archuleta. That would be awesome for it to trend on his 25th birthday!
Wishing all my David fan friends a very Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year! Excited to see what is in store for David in 2016!
Love the puzzle, Abs…thanks so much! Just waiting for all the family. Made 3 dozen enchiladas while listening to David’s Christmas songs. We always have Spanish food and play bingo in the afternoon. Getting hungry! π
Tawna….It’s only 39* here, but no snow. Maybe getting what you are by Monday. But we don’t have those beautiful mountains! π

David Archuleta sings Silent Night flawlessly impromptu invitation by his vocal coach Dean Kaelin who accompanied him so perfectly.
Dec. 23, 2015 Midvale, Utah
Late but heartfelt Christmas greetings! Although in our Catholic faith, the season celebration continues on through January 6, so I’m not really late. π
Though I don’t post often, I visit often and have been keeping up with David’s continued success and growth. Wow. He just keeps reaching new levels in his art. The Prayer, what an artistic and professional achievement.
I look forward to more in David’s wonderful future. But sometimes my heart looks back, and yes, yearns for the David we had before. Right now at this very moment as I write this, he’s on my tv screen singing the cat and mouse song from the Christmas special with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Our local Catholic channel is showing the program. Like I said, our Christmas celebration goes on.
David’s rich ,deeper, soothing voice makes me smile. Watching him and hearing that voice gives me such a feeling of endearment.
Although David moves onwards to new and stellar events, we’ll always have everything he’s given us.
God bless him and all of us. Love you all. β€
Gayle #23…. I really, really like what you wrote. This sentence particularly stands out to me… “Although David moves onwards to new and stellar events, weβll always have everything heβs given us.”
We are so blessed, in so many ways, to have the voice and the soul of David Archuleta a part of our lives.
Oh, and that Silent Night…. beautiful, as usual. But, to know that it was an impromptu, completely un-rehearsed, no time for much vocal warm-up (I think David has learned how to do some of it on the fly) performance, puts it at another level. β₯β₯
Hello everyone. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas spent with family and in your own ways!! Also a happy belated birthday to the wonderful Abrra!!
Been QUITE A BIT since I’ve left a comment here, or anywhere, really. Had a very eventful and difficult semester that included a job I LOVE (writing is involved of course haha), some tough classes due to workload, losing my confidence as a writer, David…well, what happened with him affected me a little bit for a time and a lot of other matters which have finally begun to settle down. I’ve been lurking whenever I needed or took a break so I’m glad everyone has been well. But, I also didn’t comment because of my emotional state the last few months and was afraid of lashing out at someone by mistake for those who were able to see David during his recent shows. SMART move on his part though with those warm up shows they really did some good for him. Takes time to find yourself again after a life changing experience, ESPECIALLY when it’s your passion or livelihood and trying to figure out who you are now since you began *similar experience I had with my writing as I struggled with self-doubt and my confidence*. He is honestly the happiest I’ve seen him π and I’m sure has made us all happy and thankful for him feeling at ease and peace with his career and with his life.
Regarding The Prayer…that was literally right on time as it came out with classes winding down and preparing for finals. Played it non stop and took away my stress and anxiety in 2 SECONDS. Recommended it to friends if they got stressed and listening to that song helped a friend of mine who was feeling overwhelmed. Even wiped away tears after π The fellas did a lot of good they certainly did π David and Nathan did SUPERB and it was so wonderful to see the responses from everyone on the video and the success on iTunes. So proud and happy for both.
I wanna share something that happened a couple days before The Prayer was released. As I was leaving church one Saturday *schedule change that weekend* and going back to campus, two girls my age *maybe a year or two younger*, walked past me blasting a song from their phone and I suddenly heard “saw you from the distance” and literally stopped walking thinking I was hearing things. But, I was not. The two girls were listening to Touch My Hand π To be perfectly frank, there IS an audience, I truly believe, for David for people my age. The right song just needs to stir up some excitement and good vibes to get people gravitating to him haha. But, after that sudden encounter was when The Prayer was released…so to me, God was hinting good things to come π and that things WILL work out with David. So praying and hoping 2016 will FINALLY, finally be my year.
As Gayle said, I too miss some things David used to do, such as the video blogs for example because that’s how I really got to know him more and gain more respect for him. But you know what? The unexpected twists and curves that has been following this man I haven’t seen yet haha have been interesting. Be interesting to see what happens in 2016 in terms of music and whatever else he’s got planned in that ninja way of his!! But, I’m just glad David is happy π Also, I am convinced the man is trying to kill me with that voice of his XP The Prayer proves it along with those Christmas songs from the Christmas shows!! Anyway, jeez my comments get too long bah writer thing LOL hope everyone is well and has a hopefully relaxing end of 2015 and fresh start to 2016!!
27, Kristen…
I loved every word and sentence of your comment. Loved it. ^_^
I am so glad to be updated just a bit on your doings. All my best to you. Every good wish.
