Happy Thanksgiving from The Voice to You ~ David Archuleta

Posted by bebereader on Wednesday, November 25, 2015

72p0c0.jpg pocoelsypicture edit:  Pocoelsy

As fans of the greatest singer in the land, who truly is “The Voice”, this Thanksgiving finds us with a lot to be thankful for. Although he never left our hearts, David is now back in his game and recently, lucky fans had the chance to see him in concert! David has brought so much joy into our lives. As if that wasn’t enough, he inspires us to be the best version of ourselves, to live life to the fullest and to fulfill our dreams.

On Thanksgiving Day, as we get together with family and friends, while enjoying a delicious meal, like at the first Thanksgiving when Native Americans and New Englanders came together to share a meal, we can count our blessings, big and small.

The happiest of Thanksgivings to you, our dear posters and readers and many blessings to you on this holiday.

The Night of Thanksgiving

by Lauren

found online

T’was the night of Thanksgiving,
But I just couldn’t sleep.
I tried counting backwards,
I tried counting sheep.
The leftovers beckoned,
The dark meat and white.
But I fought the temptation,
With all of my might.
Tossing and turning,
with anticipation.
The thought of a snack
became infatuation.
So I raced to the kitchen,
Flung open the door,
And gazed at the fridge,
Full of goodies galore.
I gobbled up turkey,
And buttered potatoes,
Pickles and carrots,
Beans and tomatoes.
I felt myself swelling,
So plump and so round.
‘til all of a sudden,
I rose off the ground.
I crashed through the ceiling,
Floating into the sky,
With a mouthful of pudding,
And a handful of pie.
But I managed to yell
As I soared past the trees
Happy eating to all,
Pass the cranberries, please!!
May your stuffing be tasty
May your turkey be plump.
May your potatoes and gravy
Have nary a lump.
May your yams be delicious,
May your pies take the prize
And May your Thanksgiving dinner
Stay off of your thighs!

Wishing everyone a good holiday with family and friends and good food and good music. Although it seems like I’ve been missing. it’s all an illusion. LOL I am always here, working mostly ‘in the back room” since my family life has gotten busier in the last several months, making it hard for me to keep up with commenting and conversation.

We will be bringing everyone’s Thanksgiving comment over here from the last thread.

So…. for those of you getting ready for Thanksgiving….. here are some fellows playing “football” (soccer). What I think is hilarious is that it is only the guys playing. The ladies are probably in charge of the food. ^_^

    Have a “Happy Thanksgiving!!”

Finally picked up my tickets to Layton today. It was my third attempt. First time was Veterans Day. Having been a government employee I should have known every government office closes for every holiday. Second time I was told the office had not yet processed the tickets, but my name was on the list. Third time today, I approached the door and read “closed” sign on the door. A plastic clock face said someone would return at 9:00. I checked my watch. 12:45. Hmmmm. Another sign said they would close at 1:00 today in prep of Thanksgiving. Checked my watch again. 12:46. Tried the door. Open, but dark inside. A fine fellow came from somewhere in the back of the building and YAYYY! my tickets were placed in my hands.

Appreciate the Happy Thanksgivings from Bluesky, Tawna and MT. Hope you all have a great day. I certainly intend to have me a full tummy and lots of fun conversations.

So now we are all jealous of the toll booth lady. Haha. She looks pretty happy to me. And he looks……..well, you know.

Bluesky, your thoughts are always so beautifully written from the heart.Thank you for sharing.

It’s been 2 weeks since Midland, and seeing David for the first time in 4 years and I am still collecting my thoughts and how to share them..It was wonderful to see him LIVE again, and as it worked out, being there, and being lifted up and totally consumed by his beautiful voice, live, in song, was exactly what my heart needed.♥

Have a wonderful day with your loved ones tomorrow! Love ya’ll 🙂

25…David being nice to every one! Yep, that’s David!

26…Sure wish David’s album would sell like that…it’ll be great when it’s released!

27…I hear you Dja! It’s the same way with me. Can’t seem to stop and smell the roses with so much going on. And now my son and family are here. Maybe over the week end I can stop and catch my breath. 🙂

Bluesky, those turkeys are adorable playing kickball. 🙂 Who would of thought!

Dayzee, so glad for you that you finally got those elusive tickets! 🙂 …..and I’m still jealous! 🙂 hehe But glad that he sold out in 15 minutes! whoo hoo!

Sky, it’s been almost 3 weeks since I seen David in almost 4 yrs and I just go around with this smug little feeling that I feel when I’m thinking “he is really back and staying in music”! Lucky us!

Want to wish you all a happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. Have a blessed day!

Good to hear from you Bebe. I have missed you. Thanks for the Thanksgiving poetry. I’m hoping the last lines work for me. ” And May your Thanksgiving dinner
    Stay off of your thighs!”

It is easy to understand why so many who have finally seen David after 4 years (or more) are still floating in that river of emotions we drown in after a David performance. Hoping you will soon be able to get your thoughts onto your keyboards.

I am most thankful for all you nice people who keep this site going. The admins, contributors and readers. It was so great to spend time seeing David, traveling with Jan, gathering with fans in St. George and lunching with others in Salt Lake. All things fade quickly without the sharing. So thanks to everyone here who continues to feed our hearts. I wish you all a happy holiday.

Bebereader, I also want to thank you for the post and for the poem! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!
One year we did a “Night Before Christmas” poem contest for our Family Christmas gathering. It was hilarious!

Abrra – I (with others here) am so glad to see Daniel. He is one I have held in my thoughts almost every time I have visited here over the last several years. I am so very glad to see him – the paragraph from his sister is all I could hope it would be. Just makes my day. ^_^

I love the love – so happy for them all.

Dera DA – I am really looking forward to seeing you in Dec. And I will see you with a lighter heart and enjoy your new-found freedom even more. You don’t need to know why. As you give love and spirit to us through your music, we give love and spirit back through our good wishes and appreciation.

A new (he’s finally home and better ((in unimaginable ways!)) than before1) Christmas all around. ^_^

Thanks for bringing over the cute poem, Bebe. Thankful for all the people that has kept this site going even in the lean times. Good to see Daniel posing with the siblings. They are quite a loving family and happy that they chose to share once in awhile. Amber is such a cutie!

My family has all went home and I am thankful they made it safely since there are lots of rain and ice here in the midwest.

Gosh it’s hard to believe that it was 3 weeks ago tonight that I seen David in concert. When I think how close it was that he almost quit music, I feel so thankful that he didn’t! 🙂

Dayzee, things do seem to fade without sharing and I keep blabbing how much fun I had. Sometimes I think I talk or say too much. But I am thankful for the great times we have had.

Been back a week and there has been so much going on here it’s hard to catch my breath. This week end seems like a great time to slow down with all the rainy ice. 🙂

Oh, and that icy rain you’re getting. My son and part of his family are driving home, to Utah, from Chicago thru it! Yes, this momma is a little stressed! 😦

Yes, I have turned the Christmas music on. 🙂 It’s time for it. Of course, I sneak a DA Christmas song in here and there throughout the year. 😉

I made hotel reservations today for my sister and our husbands for the Layton concert. This will be the first time we have attended a David concert together. I think it may be her first full on David Christmas concert. She went to last year’s Celebration of Christ, and was in awe of his Christmas voice. I hope she is prepared to be blown away with this concert. There is just nothing to compare to David singing Christmas music at his own concert! She will be having lower back surgery four days later, so hopefully the concert will give her some beautiful things to think about during her recovery.

Bluesky… maybe we need to send in the Search and Rescue team to find Djafan. 😀

And his music will soothe her pain, for sure. I had a procedure Tues, an upper GI and had my esophagus stretched and David was great sounding. Even it being done 2 days before Thanksgiving, I could eat turkey…with which I am thankful!! 🙂

I about had a panic attack….couldn’t find my David CFTH album and I knew it was right there…and there it was!! 🙂 Sounds really good!

Does David connect with his long time fans either smiling at or giving a wave to? Was hoping that Dja would tell us what it is like as a fan from the beginning although the M&Gs were crazy for everyone including him. I know how wonderful his voice is, some things don’t change. He has years to go and stages change for certain. I have extra DVDs of his MOTAB concert and can send them along to Abrra to give out if she wishes. Even Christmas wrapped.

Admin Abrra edit: Send them along! I am sure I can find a home for them at hospitals and libraries. Thanks so much 🙂

SB, I can tell you when my granddaughter Julie and I were on the front row in Idaho Falls David came to the front of the stage, raised his eyebrows and gave us a little grin. Julie said, “Oh he remembers you.” As I looked at old pics from concerts long ago I noticed Julie was by my side many times. I think it was her he remembered. I don’t think he can see many people from the stage when the spotlight is on him, but surely he knows many of us have been there from the beginning. Do doubt he feels the joy he brings to us.

Have been at Unplugged watching videos of old Christmas performances. Wow! I am so excited for this year’s appearances. Wondering what he will sing. Wondering what he will wear. Knowing it will be awesome. How exciting for Tawna to have her sister join her.

Thanks to Abrra for the Sunday puzzle. Best way to start a new week.

SB, that is so nice to give out the dvd’s. Now is the best time to do it for sure.

    #27..OMGosh! No other words!

Dayzee, I’m sure there was a connection of some kind. He has a great memory and Julie is a real cutie! And with as many times that you have seen him “up close”, I’m sure he remembers you too. I’m wondering the same things about the concert and I’m not even going! 🙂

Bluesky, you are a great writer with just the right words! I just seem to blab along on what’s on my mind, which a lot of times doesn’t come out right! 🙂

    Abrra, another good puzzle! Thanks!

Okay, I’ve seen that short clip in #27 before, but I just got smacked between the eyes seeing it again! Whoever the person is that snagged it is lucky to have it in their possession!

SB, I’m pretty sure that David recognizes and smiles to the ‘originals’ that he notices and remembers. I’ve seen him give little waves and smiles at times, but like Dayzee said, it’s generally to the first couple of rows. After that, between the spotlights and his constant movement he probably doesn’t see a whole lot of detail.

Dja, we can, and will, wait. You take all the time you need to do your thoughts the justice that you want to give them. 🙂

Dja, thanks for bringing that video at #46. Love the beginning where he just seems to be a part of the background, then steps forward with the spotlight and takes over the stage. Then around 2:30 he starts flying and soars all the way to the finish. And nice to have that big screen at the top, even if it is still too tiny.

Duets are not my thing. That promise of a “The Prayer” video doesn’t excite me because it would just make me work hard to block off the other voice while trying to absorb the wonder of David’s vocal charisma.
I just want to listen to David sing, solo. So I am looking forward to any videos that might come out of the Christmas concerts. I sincerely hope that some kind fans would record some of the songs and upload them for those of us not fortunate enough to be able to attend.
