Happy Thanksgiving from The Voice to You ~ David Archuleta

Posted by bebereader on Wednesday, November 25, 2015

As fans of the greatest singer in the land, who truly is “The Voice”, this Thanksgiving finds us with a lot to be thankful for. Although he never left our hearts, David is now back in his game and recently, lucky fans had the chance to see him in concert! David has brought so much joy into our lives. As if that wasn’t enough, he inspires us to be the best version of ourselves, to live life to the fullest and to fulfill our dreams.

On Thanksgiving Day, as we get together with family and friends, while enjoying a delicious meal, like at the first Thanksgiving when Native Americans and New Englanders came together to share a meal, we can count our blessings, big and small.

The happiest of Thanksgivings to you, our dear posters and readers and many blessings to you on this holiday.

The Night of Thanksgiving

by Lauren

found online

T’was the night of Thanksgiving,
But I just couldn’t sleep.
I tried counting backwards,
I tried counting sheep.
The leftovers beckoned,
The dark meat and white.
But I fought the temptation,
With all of my might.
Tossing and turning,
with anticipation.
The thought of a snack
became infatuation.
So I raced to the kitchen,
Flung open the door,
And gazed at the fridge,
Full of goodies galore.
I gobbled up turkey,
And buttered potatoes,
Pickles and carrots,
Beans and tomatoes.
I felt myself swelling,
So plump and so round.
‘til all of a sudden,
I rose off the ground.
I crashed through the ceiling,
Floating into the sky,
With a mouthful of pudding,
And a handful of pie.
But I managed to yell
As I soared past the trees
Happy eating to all,
Pass the cranberries, please!!
May your stuffing be tasty
May your turkey be plump.
May your potatoes and gravy
Have nary a lump.
May your yams be delicious,
May your pies take the prize
And May your Thanksgiving dinner
Stay off of your thighs!

David Archuleta ~ On Another Topic by Bluesky

Posted by djafan on Tuesday, November 17, 2015

Peace-image

When I started seeing the #PrayForParis tweets I wondered what had happened, why the hashtag?  I googled it and found out that a horrific act against France had taken place.  It brought back memories of the terror we experienced here and that other countries face every day.  I then got a notification of David’s Instagram post and it comforted me.

I’m always impressed with David’s words, his genuine compassion and care for others as I am with Bluesky’s thoughtful comment that had to be shared.

On another topic—

When I think of the happenings in the world, the huge sadness, the grief, the chaos, the anger, and for some – the despair, I am tempted to think, “What difference does a song make? What difference does one person make? What difference can kindness make? Are we to be overwhelmed by darkness, pain, misery, discouragement? Is goodness too simple an answer?”

When I feel those temptations crawling towards my heart, I do my best to remind my self that light is always stronger than darkness, and that the action of one kind deed can be more meaningful than many contending voices. One by one, united by a strength greater than our own and faith in the only things that outlast time: truth and love, we become more than we know. We do more than we could ever do alone.

DA is one who shares, searches for, and testifies of that kind of light and hope. Sometimes it takes courage to be a person of faith. But when that faith (whatever it may be) is grounded in and reaches for the best in all of us, then – believe in it. Believe. Hold hands. Join hearts.

Like DA – we can have the courage to “sing”.

Sounds like a gorgeous theater!

Tuacahn Amphitheater

The Tuacahn Amphitheater is a 1920-seat open-air amphitheater. It consists of three sections of sdownload (1)eating (Left, Right,
Center) with 32 rows A (front) – FF (rear). All seats have backs and arms, but are not cushioned. Entrance to the amphitheater is from the rear, requiring all patrons to descend the stairs toward their seats. Patrons with limited mobility are encouraged to sit near the top (rear) of the amphitheater. There is extra leg room on row O which is sometimes used during the productions when actors walk through the audience. Wheelchair accessible seating is available on the back row (FF) only. The stage has a concrete subfloor with a concrete pass-under tunnel to get from stage left to stage right out of view of the audience. The rear of the stage is open to expose the desertscape and red rock cliffs behind the stage which contains lighting, sound, pyrotechnical, and water effects installations. The area behind the stage is a mixture of natural stone and naturally colored concrete. This concrete riverbed was installed during initial construction to facilitate a massive 55,000 gallon flood of water that comes from the back of the canyon and across the stage toward the audience. Though conceptualized and custom-built for the “Utah!” production, this special effect and other water effects have been featured in numerous productions at Tuacahn.

I’ll be heading out Friday morning to Saint George.  I’m not a natural video taker lol but I’ll scope things out and see what’s doable :)))  I’m sudownloadper excited and this week is taking for ever!!!  Through the kindness of others I will be taking several grandkids who had wanted to attend and now are.  David fans are incredible.  Thank you.

Gladys is also on her way to the states to see David Archuleta in concert for the first time!  I can’t wait to meet her and others, and those I haven’t seen in some time.  It’s going to be great!
