David Archuleta in Concert ~ Luz De Las Naciones October 22, 23, & 24

Posted by djafan on Friday, October 23, 2015

LUZ

credit @lisamelm

Luz De Las Naciones event rehearsal was a success from all accounts on social media. For the next two nights there will be thousands of participants and an audience of thousands taking part in this huge Spanish event, it’s like a Spanish version of Motab! Hoping for video and a DVD of the event would be great for the fans, I’ll buy 🙂

And David is doing promo!

VideosInUtah also posted a great picture.

Kari treated us to a live broadcast of an interview in Spanish via periscope.  And the great Suttygal uploaded to youtube for our viewing pleasure.

I love that David is David in any language.

Translation by Jessica Boman:
Announcer: “It’s a song from the church, right?” David: “Yes, from Meet the Mormons, that’s the name of the movie. They asked me to record it while I was in Chile, in fact. So when I recorded it I still had on my missionary plaque, and I had my companion there, he was with me. In fact, we are going to sing this song, because I recently recorded it in Spanish. And, well, I’m going to sing…” Announcer: “What do you remember of Chile, David? What do you remember about your mission companions?” David: “Well, I learned a lot from them. Like I told you before, I’m someone who finds my privacy very important. But when you’re in the mission, you’re always with a companion, all of the time. And I had to learn how to function with someone there with me all the time, and how to work together and to be a team and be one in purpose together with God. I learned a lot. And it was difficult, because in order to be one with someone and to work and always be with someone you have to show who you really are, with all of your weaknesses along with your abilities. There are times when you don’t get along very well, 100%. But at the same time, I loved how we learned how to ask for forgiveness and all of those things. I believe it’s a good training for marriage! ”

David then took to social media to invite anyone who could attend this epic event.  I love that he doesn’t write exactly the same thing in all.

Beautiful pics of David at rehearsal. Looking forward to some more of that. Thanks to all who bring us these glimpses into David’s day.

the song “Color Esperanza” was written by Argentine Coti Sorokin, and is also sung by an Argentine, Diego Torres. He had the opportunity to sing to Pope John Paul II on May 3, 2003, when the Pope visited Spain.

#22 That was totally adorable, awkward and all kinds of win rolled into one. I totally LOLed and loved it! He should have whipped out a handkerchief and twirled it just like how the dancers did. And danced! instead of just standing there. But it was lovely, even though I didn’t understand anything.

Now I want video of Color Esperanza.

Thank you to all the wonderful fans who videoed and to all of you for bringing the vids here.

Listening to David command the stage and audience in an all huge Spanish event tells me he is ready for the Latin market. His singing of those traditional songs is just perfection. As ready as I am for him to bust out I’m more than ok for him to do it his way.

Not to say that his singing in English falls behind, he is a master. Muldur posted Pride from Idaho a couple of days ago, wow. No one sings like this.

54 Djafan… you can say that again. Wow. After all that time home and we wondered if he would sing to us again. (!!!)
Now, he is going all the time, almost non-stop. I know it may be just for this time, for this fall. But Kari has intimated that his time is very full.

My time is full and I wonder if I am getting half as much done as he is. I love how he sings: His Hands, in spanish. Thank you, DA for just being you. Thank you for caring as much as you do.

Your compassion for others may look a little different, a little reserved compared to how it seemed before. But your heart is in evidence, full, weeping, singing, clinging to your sleeve – for anyone with eyes, ears, and soul to see.

I love how in that photo of DA and Jazzy we can see the look in DAs’ eyes. The roles are reversed now. She looks excited and so happy. He looks a little wistful. He should. Your time to wait, DA. <3<3<3

And yes, Fenfan.. the "sway" piece. I thought the same thing when the fellow came out to sing it. He did a great job. ALL the musicians were really good, really, really good. I enjoyed the evening a lot. In the pic above, the fellow in the white suit was, I believe the one who sang "sway".

Loosely – DA says that it was a pleasure to speak and perform in Spanish, the language of his mother and family. That there were upwards of 1,000 people who performed in the presentation. That the presentation was to support and honor the youth living in these days, especially the latin youth. He hopes that all who participated and all who attended enjoyed the concert/program.

The guy with the shaved head said that it was to celebrate the culture here in this state (Utah). Especially that many of the latin culture are religious and it was a chance not only to celebrate the many latin cultures, but also to present a little of what the LDS feel about their Savior. The girl afterwards said that it is great to have a chance to do things that share the spirit, where all can feel it in many ways.

Again… that is a VERY loose translation, but you get the idea. ^_^

Fenfan, I just rewatched the interview with the David moving head. I didn’t notice first time around but I think your repeat watching is what has you spinning lol

Since I didn’t see his hands waving around maybe his head was doing the speaking with his mouth to compensate of the lack of hand movement. What you think?

Bluesky, good translation 🙂 And we have every ethnicity of food being sold from food trucks 🙂

Thank you Bluesky for the translation. Ha, glad you agree David should have sung “Sway”. I didn’t know there was a Spanish version – should have known, since it has a Latin beat.

Yes, Tawna they were speaking very fast. That combined with all the head and body movement and my repeat watching made me spin!

Dja – did you notice how he was also swaying, besides the head movement? Hahaha I should stop watching that vid! But then, there are those eyes!

Jazzy left today. The tears and David’s words.

My mom and sister shared one more embrace before my sister Jazzy leaves for her 18-month mission in Houston, Texas. Man, it's hard to say goodbye to someone you love so much! A lot of emotions felt being sad to have her gone, but so happy that she has this desire to serve The Lord. I look up to my little sister so much. She has a way with understanding people regardless of their history or differences, and making them feel comfortable. She has a way of helping people find why they matter and are important in their own individual way. She gets the power of Christ's gospel has to change because she has lived it. I just love this gal. I will miss her but I know she will serve with her heart to the people deep in the heart of Texas and in our mother's tongue of Spanish! I can't wait to speak fluently with you, mi hermanita. We'll be praying for you Hermana Archuleta! #missionary #Christ #lds #mormon #Texas #sister #littlesister #family #goodbyes
