Nathan Pacheco and David Archuleta in Concert Miami,FLA 10/16

Nathan Pacheco excitedly announced that David Archuleta would be his guest singer at his next concert on October 16th at the Adrianne Arsht Center in Miami. Nathan Pacheco posted this video on twitter to make the announcent.
I’m really excited about this performance for David. The opportunities this exposure gives him are limitless. We David Archuleta fans know his performances will be incredible and the duet with Nathan Pacheco singing The Prayer will be epic. Nathan said there will be video so I’m sure we’ll be anxiously waiting for it.
This is the write up from the venue.
Nathan Pacheco is an American-Brazilian classically trained tenor born in Virginia with a passion for reaching out and uplifting people through music. In addition to being a television and recording artist, Nathan completed his debut solo tour in 2013. He has been featured globally in live performances, including touring the United States, Canada, and Mexico with Yanni; performing with Latin singing sensation Olga Tañon; touring England, Scotland, and Wales with Katherine Jenkins and the National Symphony Orchestra; performing for Prince Charles in conjunction with the British Forces Foundation and the USO; and performing with the San Diego Symphony. In 2012, PBS aired the special “Introducing Nathan Pacheco” and “Christmas with Nathan Pacheco”. He has been featured on multiple Yanni recordings, including the latest album Inspirato, where Nathan was featured alongside Plácido Domingo, Renée Fleming, and other opera stars.
Nathan’s debut album was released in 2012 by Disney Pearl. Shortly after release, it registered as one of the top ordered classical/crossover discs on iTunes and Amazon. His second album Nathan Pacheco II was released earlier this year.
Ticket prices range from $53.22 to $534.72. I estimate without counting seats that about 2/3 of the seats have sold. Hoping many Archie’s are able to go. Come on Florida fans!
Nathan Pacheco has done several interviews promoting this concert with the Spanish media and mentions David’s guest appearance on several. I’m posting this one that was translated and links to the others.
Interview:
I had the great pleasure of talking on the phone with Nathan Pacheco, who is going to perform this Friday October 16 in the Miami’s Adrianne Arsht Center, in a concert that represents an important leap forward in his career.
“This concert is probably going to be the largest I have done in my life, I’m starting a new stage in my career and in this concert I’m singing many new songs for the very first time”, the tenor, who made his world debut in 2012, during an special program presented by public network PBS, and who has worked with artists like Yanni.
“There are new arrangements from an incredible composer and producer, and I’m going to sing with a big orchestra, as well as with my main music band, and also we are going to have a choir… We are planning everything so it’s going to be a huge concert.”
Nathan, who was born in the United States and is of Brazilian descent, not only has the great gift of being able to communicate universally with his music, but he speaks and composes in four different languages, among them Spanish, in which we had our conversation.
“I love different cultures and one of the reasons why I like to learn different languages is because I can feel connected with people of each culture, nd this is the reason why I love to sing, because a we know, music has no borders, and through the music we can feel connected”.
My main question was why choosing Miami for such an important concert when it is not precisely for a Latin genre? And he answered me the following:
“I think that Miami is the gateway to the world. There are so many people from many different cultures and we want to launch a World Tour, so we think Miami is the perfect city tho do this,” he told me.
“I am more than excited for this concert, because it is going to be something very special for me, in which I can sing in Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and English, and we are going to tape everything, and maybe broadcast it some day”.
And well, even though I don’t know if I’m going to be able to go, since my life at this moment is beyond complicated between family and work, if you are in Miami and you can escape to the Adrianne Arsht Center, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.
And if you want to buy tickets, click here.
Would love interviews with David like these. I’ve tweeted and messaged them suggesting they interview David, hoping.

Nathan Pacheco is an amazing lyricist. the words he has used to put lyrics to some of Yannis’ most famous melodies are… simply inspiring and lovely and tender and …. really good!
And he knows and works with some world renowned composers. Oh. my. gosh. This is such a great opportunity for DA to meet some talented people in other genres than he already has, erm… met. (bad sentence, but you know what I mean. *_*)
Please, anyone that can go… I think you will be so glad that you did!!
Nathan completely financed his last CD by using a gofundme page. I think it was something like 30-40 thousand $$ in a few weeks. He is independent, he wants to record concerts. He is singing in many languages….. (accckkkk!!!)
Please, DA —- get some really good ideas from him.
You two are going to be completely insane.

Thank you for the Miami concert info Djafan! I won’t be going but it’s nice to have the deets.
The Nunca Pense video is lovely in Portuguese. I spent lots of time as a teen working with folks from Portugal.
I studied the video and time stamp 2:04 made me smile. David appears to be running away from the surf. I don’t recall that scene in the previous video. I assume they had to re-shoot some of the close up singing parts. I like the editing on this video much better. The pace is slower so it seems like a bit more David.
One thing I know about David, he is full of surprises!

Dja, thanks for your post…it also makes me excited for the future for David. Super photo of him at the top; he is maturing so much. The photos of the Concert Hall are gorgeous. It’s a great opportunity for David to show off his many talents, and yes, Bluesky, get some good ideas. Also excited about a possible video of the concert. These two guys are going to “wow” the audience!
I love Nunca Pense!

Wow! Would you take a look at that venue!!! That’s great news, Dja, about the ticket sales! This is one of those concerts that, even though it’s not David’s own concert, it certainly will expose him to a different climate on the planet of music. I’m so excited for him and wish him the very best for this huge event! ♥♥ Thank you for bringing this information to us.
It’s interesting with the Nunca Pense video… when did this get done?!! Not knowing the two languages, nor the differences in them, I couldn’t tell any difference other than a few different scenes. It wouldn’t surprise me one bit to see David become multi-lingual. I can just really see it happening. Especially since it seems more comfortable and easier (for whatever reason) to sing in a Spanish type language. I’d love to know the reason behind that.

Tawna.. What I think is this: every video has a lot of footage that they may or may not use. He originally sang and recorded the whole thing in Spanish.
Now he sings it in Portuguese. I think they just “dubbed in” the new words, using the old footage. There are enough sounds that are the same, that it would not be too hard to do. And they could just use a little bit of footage here and there that they already had, but was not in the first video, that could take place of footage or words that would not fit.
I think they did a very good job! I like it a lot. Love the song. Love that he loves to sing it.
Love that he ‘dances’ to it when he sings.
Love is kinda the key word here. ^_^
Also…
Dear DA – Please do not be nervous singing with Dear Nathan. Please sing as freely and as wonderfully as if you were at the BYU or in Idaho or in Layton…… or with your family.
Please, just sing your enormous, mighty, marvelous heart out. Do it!!!! Nathan will do all he can to support you. Don’t let yourself think for one minute that you might not measure up. It is going to be amazing.
Above all: have a blast!!!!

Okay, I get it that Zelda is a priority. (actually, I think it is because you want to spend as much time as possible with your sister….. AND Zelda – !!) And I get it that you are feeling “heyyyyyy” about the concert tonight.
What I think you do not understand (still! *_*) is this: the impact of your voice.
You think you can just waltz into Miami, saunter up onto that stage, sing a few songs as a “guest” with your new buddy Nathan…. and NOBODY WILL NOTICE!!
*sigh*
(Whatchagonna do with him?)
Dear DA – aint. gonna. happen.

You know it, man.
Leo has composed and arranged for Josh Groban and for Tom Hanks for his new series. If any of you listened/watched the video of Nathan singing “Sonera”, that song was arranged by Leo Z.
“Leo Z is a Bologna, Italy born producer, who has worked studio magic for Josh Groban and Anrea Bocelli.”
I like how 7 hours ago he is saying: “Honored to be playing with an incredible band in a dream-like theatre with The Only and Possible Tall Angel From Virginia .” (well, he is right on that…. Nathan IS from Virginia…but….)
Then six hours later he says: “We have two Angels in Miami singing together tonight. The Skies will dance. Harmonically.”
That is what I wanted to hear.
I will be watching for those fireworks. Ramp it up, Leo! ^_^

Huge thanks to both Robin and Nathan Pacheco for sharing!
It’s wonderful to get video of the Prayer, but Robin’s audio/video has all of the songs so both videos are greatly appreciated. David and Nathan are great vocalists, each in their own way, and have different voices and singing styles, yet at times their voices blended so well I couldn’t tell one from the other. Beautiful duet!

Dja…. I’m hoping there are some concerts in the works around the country! I’m thinking (that can be scarey 🙂 ), that maybe his agency is having to move into next year for different states, where they kind of got a late start on this year’s venues and booking dates. jmo
I certainly love this newest promo photo that is being used. ♥

What a delightful pic of the Archuleta siblings.
You lucky ducks who get to go to West Texas! That special invitation from David makes me wishing I could go. But I see Pocatello! Yayy! New tickets for my depleted folder. And Layton. Life is good!

Yea, Dayzee, me too. But I’d already made plans to be out there and it was too much jetting around to make them both! 🙂 The dates were too close. My problem is that I want to go to all of his concerts and that is totally impossible! 🙂
Dja, I agree, I’ve got part of my packing done… 🙂 Keep holding back on packing everything because I forget what I’ve packed when I do it too early. 🙂
Love the sibling photo! Very good looking kids.

Was checking the weather in St George for the next month and clicked on Concerts. There is this singer that’s having a concert on the 6th and 7th of Nov. He must be pretty good since both concerts have o tickets left to buy! 🙂

I’ve hiked ‘Y’ mountain, and trust me it ain’t easy! I did it many moons ago when I was working at a daycare center and we took the older kids on this hike. I was a nervous wreck by the time we got back to the bottom. I could just envision one of the kids rolling down the mountain…. and there would be no stopping until they hit the bottom. I’ve never done it since. There are people who run it daily, or even just hike it. It’s the really big mountain that faces BYU and there is a big, white Y on it. They light it during Homecoming week. It was lit when David was there. There is probably a picture of it on Google somewhere.
It’s really something else how close David is to his sisters, and they aren’t afraid to put it out there. I love it!

The “Y” mountain is very interesting. I agree, Abs, every time I thought it was coming to the end, it turned the corner and kept going. Whew!
Tawna, hiking with kids would be nerve wracking and I bet you had to carry lots of water for that long of hike. That would make you sweat even more! 🙂

Sky I am so excited that you are going to see David in Texas. Can’t wait to be reading your view of that event.
Fen, O Ven is at the top of my list for Christmas, So good to be planning Christmas music. David has given us so many great Christmas gifts. Looking forward to the 2015 season.
Nice to see David and Jazzy enjoying mountain hiking. I have never hiked with a bunch of youngsters. My hat is off to you Tawna. It’s all I can do to keep myself on the trails. And usually I have someone else carrying my water bottles. That’s why I had children.
Abrra, thanks for my first “virtual” hike. I don’t know how I kept up that pace. No wheezing.
Two weeks from tomorrow! Whoopee! I’ll leave 11/2 for Vegas to visit family and pick up Jan. So just 11 days until the journey begins. Butterflies are rampant Many thanks to Djafan for getting Jan and I on the lunch list. 🙂

From Janel at FOD who found this translation Thanks !!!!!
Janel aka Nellie says:
October 22, 2015 at 5:03 pm
Translation of the partial interview shared on periscope by Kari:
Announcer: “It’s a song from the church, right?” David: “Yes, from Meet the Mormons, that’s the name of the movie. They asked me to record it while I was in Chile, in fact. So when I recorded it I still had on my missionary plaque, and I had my companion there, he was with me. In fact, we are going to sing this song, because I recently recorded it in Spanish. And, well, I’m going to sing…” Announcer: “What do you remember of Chile, David? What do you remember about your mission companions?” David: “Well, I learned a lot from them. Like I told you before, I’m someone who finds my privacy very important. But when you’re in the mission, you’re always with a companion, all of the time. And I had to learn how to function with someone there with me all the time, and how to work together and to be a team and be one in purpose together with God. I learned a lot. And it was difficult, because in order to be one with someone and to work and always be with someone you have to show who you really are, with all of your weaknesses along with your abilities. There are times when you don’t get along very well, 100%. But at the same time, I loved how we learned how to ask for forgiveness and all of those things. I believe it’s a good training for marriage! ”

If I could be in two places at once, I would be at the conference center listening to DA sing in spanish. ^_^
