Nathan Pacheco and David Archuleta in Concert Miami,FLA 10/16

Posted by djafan on Wednesday, October 14, 2015

credit DA OS and also on DA’s Facebook

Nathan Pacheco excitedly announced that David Archuleta would be his guest singer at his next concert on October 16th at the Adrianne Arsht Center in Miami.  Nathan Pacheco posted this video on twitter to make the announcent.

I’m really excited about this performance for David.  The opportunities this exposure gives him are limitless.  We David Archuleta fans know his performances will be incredible and the duet with Nathan Pacheco singing The Prayer will be epic.  Nathan said there will be video so I’m sure we’ll be anxiously waiting for it.

This is the write up from the venue.

Nathan Pacheco is an American-Brazilian classically trained tenor born in Virginia with a passion for reaching out and uplifting people through music. In addition to being a television and recording artist, Nathan completed his debut solo tour in 2013. He has been featured globally in live performances, including touring the United States, Canada, and Mexico with Yanni; performing with Latin singing sensation Olga Tañon; touring England, Scotland, and Wales with Katherine Jenkins and the National Symphony Orchestra; performing for Prince Charles in conjunction with the British Forces Foundation and the USO; and performing with the San Diego Symphony. In 2012, PBS aired the special “Introducing Nathan Pacheco” and “Christmas with Nathan Pacheco”. He has been featured on multiple Yanni recordings, including the latest album Inspirato, where Nathan was featured alongside Plácido Domingo, Renée Fleming, and other opera stars.

Nathan’s debut album was released in 2012 by Disney Pearl. Shortly after release, it registered as one of the top ordered classical/crossover discs on iTunes and Amazon. His second album Nathan Pacheco II was released earlier this year.

Ticket prices range from $53.22 to $534.72.  I estimate without counting seats that about 2/3 of the seats have sold. Hoping many Archie’s are able to go.  Come on Florida fans!

Nathan Pacheco has done several interviews promoting this concert with the Spanish media and mentions David’s guest appearance on several.  I’m posting this one that was translated and links to the others.

I had the great pleasure of talking on the phone with Nathan Pacheco, who is going to perform this Friday October 16 in the Miami’s Adrianne Arsht Center, in a concert that represents an important leap forward in his career.

“This concert is probably going to be the largest I have done in my life, I’m starting a new stage in my career and in this concert I’m singing many new songs for the very first time”, the tenor, who made his world debut in 2012, during an special program presented by public network PBS, and who has worked with artists like Yanni.

“There are new arrangements from an incredible composer and producer, and I’m going to sing with a big orchestra, as well as with my main music band, and also we are going to have a choir… We are planning everything so it’s going to be a huge concert.”

Nathan, who was born in the United States and is of Brazilian descent, not only has the great gift of being able to communicate universally with his music, but he speaks and composes in four different languages, among them Spanish, in which we had our conversation.

“I love different cultures and one of the reasons why I like to learn different languages is because I can feel connected with people of each culture, nd this is the reason why I love to sing, because a we know, music has no borders, and through the music we can feel connected”.

My main question was why choosing Miami for such an important concert when it is not precisely  for a Latin genre? And he answered me the following:

“I think that Miami is the gateway to the world. There are so many people from many different cultures and we want to launch a World Tour, so we think Miami is the perfect city tho do this,” he told me.

“I am more than excited for this concert, because it is going to be something very special for me, in which I can sing in Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and English, and we are going to tape everything, and maybe broadcast it some day”.

And well, even though I don’t know if I’m going to be able to go, since my life at this moment is beyond complicated between family and work, if you are in Miami and you can escape to the Adrianne Arsht Center, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

Would love interviews with David like these.  I’ve tweeted and messaged them suggesting they interview David, hoping.

Nathan Pacheco is an amazing lyricist. the words he has used to put lyrics to some of Yannis’ most famous melodies are… simply inspiring and lovely and tender and …. really good!

And he knows and works with some world renowned composers. Oh. my. gosh. This is such a great opportunity for DA to meet some talented people in other genres than he already has, erm… met. (bad sentence, but you know what I mean. *_*)

Please, anyone that can go… I think you will be so glad that you did!!

Nathan completely financed his last CD by using a gofundme page. I think it was something like 30-40 thousand $$ in a few weeks. He is independent, he wants to record concerts. He is singing in many languages….. (accckkkk!!!)

Please, DA —- get some really good ideas from him.

You two are going to be completely insane.

    (just saying…)

Thank you for the Miami concert info Djafan! I won’t be going but it’s nice to have the deets.

The Nunca Pense video is lovely in Portuguese. I spent lots of time as a teen working with folks from Portugal.
I studied the video and time stamp 2:04 made me smile. David appears to be running away from the surf. I don’t recall that scene in the previous video. I assume they had to re-shoot some of the close up singing parts. I like the editing on this video much better. The pace is slower so it seems like a bit more David.

One thing I know about David, he is full of surprises!

  5. MT said

Thanks for the info Dja! What a gorgeous venue! I can’t wait to see the videos from David’s performance with Nathan Pacheco. Those two voices on the same song is going to be something else.

#1 – Wow, David continues to surprise me with his ability to sing so beautifully in so many languages. Unbelievable!

  6. jans11 said

Dja, thanks for your post…it also makes me excited for the future for David. Super photo of him at the top; he is maturing so much. The photos of the Concert Hall are gorgeous. It’s a great opportunity for David to show off his many talents, and yes, Bluesky, get some good ideas. Also excited about a possible video of the concert. These two guys are going to “wow” the audience!

    I love Nunca Pense!

    Signed the cards. ♥

  7. tawna21 said

Wow! Would you take a look at that venue!!! That’s great news, Dja, about the ticket sales! This is one of those concerts that, even though it’s not David’s own concert, it certainly will expose him to a different climate on the planet of music. I’m so excited for him and wish him the very best for this huge event! ♥♥ Thank you for bringing this information to us.

It’s interesting with the Nunca Pense video… when did this get done?!! Not knowing the two languages, nor the differences in them, I couldn’t tell any difference other than a few different scenes. It wouldn’t surprise me one bit to see David become multi-lingual. I can just really see it happening. Especially since it seems more comfortable and easier (for whatever reason) to sing in a Spanish type language. I’d love to know the reason behind that.

  9. tawna21 said

That’s probably what it is Abrra.

  10. bluesky4home said

Tawna.. What I think is this: every video has a lot of footage that they may or may not use. He originally sang and recorded the whole thing in Spanish.
Now he sings it in Portuguese. I think they just “dubbed in” the new words, using the old footage. There are enough sounds that are the same, that it would not be too hard to do. And they could just use a little bit of footage here and there that they already had, but was not in the first video, that could take place of footage or words that would not fit.

I think they did a very good job! I like it a lot. Love the song. Love that he loves to sing it.
Love that he ‘dances’ to it when he sings.

Love is kinda the key word here. ^_^

Dear DA – Please do not be nervous singing with Dear Nathan. Please sing as freely and as wonderfully as if you were at the BYU or in Idaho or in Layton…… or with your family.

Please, just sing your enormous, mighty, marvelous heart out. Do it!!!! Nathan will do all he can to support you. Don’t let yourself think for one minute that you might not measure up. It is going to be amazing.

    Above all: have a blast!!!!

  11. bluesky4home said

(Think of it this way, DA: for once you don’t have to worry about holding back. ^_^)

  12. bluesky4home said

Besides, they’re both left-handed. Must mean something. ^_^

Okay.. I am going to quit now.

(does this mean that bluesky thinks DA should not sing pop? or country? or blues? Naw. I just think he should sing it all. All. of. it. Anything his little pea-pickin’ heart desires. That thought makes me really happy. ^^^___^^^)

  21. Abrra said

    And his Instagram post

Is that the guy who could barely stand on ice skates?

Classic Fun Center seems to have every kind of activity.

They are spending time together before she leaves, how sweet 🙂

  22. tawna21 said

I was thinking the same thing, Abrra….. he can skate, sing (on key), and video at the same time…. pretty tricky guy!! 😀

  23. bluesky4home said

Oh, Abrra… I knew about Gladys, and Jans. And of course the Utah peeps. But I was not sure if any of you three Admins were able to make it out. I am so very happy for you!

I know it will be wonderful. Soak it all in. Have just an AMAZING time. I know you will.

(give Gladys a hug for me?)

I am hoping (please, please. *_*) that DA’s family in Miami might take a few pics that they would share? I am sure some of them will be attending the concert?
Pretty sure video won’t be coming. But I can still hope. ^_^

That skating rink video is all kinds of win. It is the kind of thing that makes DJs and Marketers all around the world say: “Who IS this guy?”

  24. djafan said

Bluesky, yes please let there be video!

    Rehearsing probably 🙂

I’m supposing that with all of the butterflies going on in tummies of the fans, there are none left over for David’s tummy. Not only do we have his back, but we have his butterflies in the tummy taken care of too! 🙂

  26. bluesky4home said

Oh, Tawna… I hope so, too!

Oh – to be his touring mouse right now. (guess I would need a really small tux. *_*)

Great view from Kari’s the ocean. Don’t know how David could be in Miami and SLC at the same time. I didn’t know anything about a Zelda show, so you got me! 🙂

    It’s announcing David’s 2 Christmas concerts!

I also read where a fan was asking Kari if she could mail gifts to David and Kari told her to take it to the St George concert if she wanted! With his birthday and Christmas coming up that comes in handy!

  34. Abrra said

I think that sometimes Kari goes to the city/venue ahead of him to coordinate details about his lodging and rehearsals etc with the other artist’s team. He just has to fly in today.

David seems quite relaxed about the whole thing happening tonight. 🙂

Zelda music concert? I need to check that out lol Great pictures of him. There was a twitter buzz about his presence at the concert.

Listening these in preparation and hoping for some videos!!!

  38. djafan said

I have no ideas on what songs he’ll be tearing up the stage with like Nathan said. But would love to hear this.

  39. Does anyone know how we – who were present at the Layton concert on Sat – redeem our chances for half price for the Dec. show?
I would really love to know. And Go!!!

  40. djafan said

Mary Dee has captured all the languages David has sang. I say the 9th counts lol

  41. Abrra said

  42. tawna21 said

Jans, awesome find about the Christmas concert!!! Bluesky, we have to wait for an email from the DAC….. drumming fingers on the desk while waiting!

The Zelda symphony looks like it may have been at Abravanel Hall in SLC.

This Sunday is his sister’s mission farewell, so he most likely will be back in Utah for that. He never rests. Although sitting through a symphony was probably very relaxing to him.

Then next week is “Luz de las Naciones”. Whew! It’s a wild ride!!

  43. tawna21 said

And now we can rest easy… he’s in Miami.

The other day I seen where Gracie is opening for David in St. George. Haven’t seen any more about it so not sure.

Boy, David sure is racking up the air miles! 🙂 Should be getting some free trips by now! 🙂

Even if there are no videos, I hope someone tweets his set list.
Yes DJA, I hope he sings Bring Him Home.
Or maybe he will surprise us all by singing something totally unexpected and out of his comfort zone, whatever that is.
How about Music of the Night??? haha I was just watching Phantom of the Opera on youtube.

    Dear DA

Okay, I get it that Zelda is a priority. (actually, I think it is because you want to spend as much time as possible with your sister….. AND Zelda – !!) And I get it that you are feeling “heyyyyyy” about the concert tonight.

What I think you do not understand (still! *_*) is this: the impact of your voice.
You think you can just waltz into Miami, saunter up onto that stage, sing a few songs as a “guest” with your new buddy Nathan…. and NOBODY WILL NOTICE!!

    (Whatchagonna do with him?)

Dear DA – aint. gonna. happen.
So get your buns in gear and start warming up. I expect to see (and hear) the fireworks from the east coast all the way over to the Rocky Mountains.

    Just sayin’

    Leo, Leo, Leo, Leo……

    You know it, man.

Leo has composed and arranged for Josh Groban and for Tom Hanks for his new series. If any of you listened/watched the video of Nathan singing “Sonera”, that song was arranged by Leo Z.

“Leo Z is a Bologna, Italy born producer, who has worked studio magic for Josh Groban and Anrea Bocelli.”

I like how 7 hours ago he is saying: “Honored to be playing with an incredible band in a dream-like theatre with The Only and Possible Tall Angel From Virginia .” (well, he is right on that…. Nathan IS from Virginia…but….)

Then six hours later he says: “We have two Angels in Miami singing together tonight. The Skies will dance. Harmonically.”

That is what I wanted to hear.

I will be watching for those fireworks. Ramp it up, Leo! ^_^

This was certainly a great gig for David to be involved in. We know once people in production, composing, experience D’s amazing vocals.. who knows, these days, what opportunities may come. That venue is so beautiful, the sound of David’s voice must have been incredible.eeep! can’t wait to hear The Prayer duet…have goosebumps already.

Oh, Abrra!!! I am in heaven. Thank you so much for getting the pics, etc. here. I love the one with them in the hallway, the comments by others, the ending of the prayer. Look how Nathan “gives” to DA, he is SUCH a class act! I simply could not be happier that these two fellows are friends, and now colleagues.

I hope there may be one or two other colabs in their futures.

(since they both live in N. now, could you imagine a late night session at some eating establishment? probs not gonna happen…. but what fun!)

  71. djafan said

Did you hear that? That voice? Him? David? Oh Abrra nope he doesnt dissapoint!

I’m in heaven🎶I’m in heaven🎶 Bluesky that was so classy of Nathan to give him that lasf note! Robin said David held just enough to let him shine, I want the whole thing! Nathan said there would be video. And David could sing whatever he wants because that voice and talent can’t be duplicated.

  72. Dayzee said

There you have it. From the raucous skating rink Pokemon to the posh surroundings of the Arsht Center and The Prayer. Only David.

  73. moelita said

That snippet of The Prayer is beautiful. David is doing the lower part , right? His tone is just beautiful and their voices together were sublime. David is so versitile. Really ,how many singers are out there who can sing any style of music with such ease and not just do an adequate job but slay each style? David is so special he deserves to be recognized for the brilliant artist he is.

  74. skydancer1x said

    more, another snippet!

    See? Whatchagonna do?!!!

Nathan, Nathan, Nathan. You are just such a gentleman. You know that you never sing alone. Hope is your companion and joy is the magic in your blood and voice.

I absolutely love what I hear, and I know that I am going to LOVE the video. (THANK YOU, NATHAN!!!)
    I just…… want……. more. (small voice)
There is something to be said for “You can never get enough of a good thing!” ^_^

What would my musical world be like if they sang together just often enough that each knew instinctively where/how the other was and only had thoughts for the hearts listening? I think… maybe I would have to beam to another place.

  76. Abrra said

A clip from Kari. It’s the same section we heard, just a different view.

  77. tawna21 said

I am speechless! Thank you for the pics and videos. They are just what we needed to confirm our suspicions that David could do it…. not that we doubted 😉 , but confirmation is always a good thing.

I can just picture Kari, standing backstage, with a huge grin on her face and bursting at the seams with pride for this man that she has helped to get to where he is today! It gives me goosebumps to think of what this actually sounded like live, in the auditorium with it’s acoustics. Wow!!

    79. There are no words in existence to describe the beauty of that duet performance of The Prayer. I’m absolutely speechless! David, you are a world-class wonder!

  84. tawna21 said

Luverly!!!!! Thank you dja for getting it here, and thank you to Robin for getting this piece of history recorded!!

  85. Abrra said

I made an mp3 of RobinFOD’s audio of David singing in Miami for the Candy Jar.

  86. tawna21 said

Abrra…. you know us too well!!! Thank you!!!!

  87. djafan said

That was beyond beautiful! Crush and MKOP were unexpected choices but they sounded fresh. Great choice to go acoustic with them, his voice soared! And to switch to the prayer??? Who does that? David of course👍
Here’s the longer Facebook link. Going in for more 😆

Huge thanks to both Robin and Nathan Pacheco for sharing!

It’s wonderful to get video of the Prayer, but Robin’s audio/video has all of the songs so both videos are greatly appreciated. David and Nathan are great vocalists, each in their own way, and have different voices and singing styles, yet at times their voices blended so well I couldn’t tell one from the other. Beautiful duet!

I thought Crush sounded faster than normal. Or am I imagining things? I like what he did at the end of MKOP. A really interesting twist. Very nice. 🙂

  89. jans11 said

Thanks for the videos! Stunning is the word! David is something else…he outdoes himself every time! So talented.

    #19days! 🙂

  91. Dayzee said

Nice puzzle. Pastel David. TY Abrra.

I had such high expectations for The Prayer, and still I had no idea how extraordinary it would be. He always outdoes my imaginations. No wonder we behave like such idiots, following that pied piper around like the children of Hamelin

Love the puzzle, Abs! So colorful!

More concerts! Hoping for a west coast, the southern part 🙂

  101. tawna21 said

Dja…. I’m hoping there are some concerts in the works around the country! I’m thinking (that can be scarey 🙂 ), that maybe his agency is having to move into next year for different states, where they kind of got a late start on this year’s venues and booking dates. jmo

I certainly love this newest promo photo that is being used. ♥

What a delightful pic of the Archuleta siblings.

You lucky ducks who get to go to West Texas! That special invitation from David makes me wishing I could go. But I see Pocatello! Yayy! New tickets for my depleted folder. And Layton. Life is good!

  106. jans11 said

Yea, Dayzee, me too. But I’d already made plans to be out there and it was too much jetting around to make them both! 🙂 The dates were too close. My problem is that I want to go to all of his concerts and that is totally impossible! 🙂

Dja, I agree, I’ve got part of my packing done… 🙂 Keep holding back on packing everything because I forget what I’ve packed when I do it too early. 🙂

Love the sibling photo! Very good looking kids.

  107. jans11 said

I signed both cards the other day. Thanks, Dja.

For those of us who have no clue what the Y is, I looked it up.

I broke a sweat just watching the video 😉

  119. tawna21 said

I’ve hiked ‘Y’ mountain, and trust me it ain’t easy! I did it many moons ago when I was working at a daycare center and we took the older kids on this hike. I was a nervous wreck by the time we got back to the bottom. I could just envision one of the kids rolling down the mountain…. and there would be no stopping until they hit the bottom. I’ve never done it since. There are people who run it daily, or even just hike it. It’s the really big mountain that faces BYU and there is a big, white Y on it. They light it during Homecoming week. It was lit when David was there. There is probably a picture of it on Google somewhere.

It’s really something else how close David is to his sisters, and they aren’t afraid to put it out there. I love it!

  120. tawna21 said

Here’s just a little bit about the mountain….

  121. jans11 said

The “Y” mountain is very interesting. I agree, Abs, every time I thought it was coming to the end, it turned the corner and kept going. Whew!

Tawna, hiking with kids would be nerve wracking and I bet you had to carry lots of water for that long of hike. That would make you sweat even more! 🙂

  122. tawna21 said

Jans, oh yeah! Lots of water.. and… sack lunches. I don’t know whose idea it was but it was a tough day on the leaders. 😉 The kids had a blast!

  123. Dayzee said

Sky I am so excited that you are going to see David in Texas. Can’t wait to be reading your view of that event.

Fen, O Ven is at the top of my list for Christmas, So good to be planning Christmas music. David has given us so many great Christmas gifts. Looking forward to the 2015 season.

Nice to see David and Jazzy enjoying mountain hiking. I have never hiked with a bunch of youngsters. My hat is off to you Tawna. It’s all I can do to keep myself on the trails. And usually I have someone else carrying my water bottles. That’s why I had children.

Abrra, thanks for my first “virtual” hike. I don’t know how I kept up that pace. No wheezing.

Two weeks from tomorrow! Whoopee! I’ll leave 11/2 for Vegas to visit family and pick up Jan. So just 11 days until the journey begins. Butterflies are rampant Many thanks to Djafan for getting Jan and I on the lunch list. 🙂

From Janel at FOD who found this translation Thanks !!!!!

    Janel aka Nellie says:
    October 22, 2015 at 5:03 pm

Translation of the partial interview shared on periscope by Kari:
Announcer: “It’s a song from the church, right?” David: “Yes, from Meet the Mormons, that’s the name of the movie. They asked me to record it while I was in Chile, in fact. So when I recorded it I still had on my missionary plaque, and I had my companion there, he was with me. In fact, we are going to sing this song, because I recently recorded it in Spanish. And, well, I’m going to sing…” Announcer: “What do you remember of Chile, David? What do you remember about your mission companions?” David: “Well, I learned a lot from them. Like I told you before, I’m someone who finds my privacy very important. But when you’re in the mission, you’re always with a companion, all of the time. And I had to learn how to function with someone there with me all the time, and how to work together and to be a team and be one in purpose together with God. I learned a lot. And it was difficult, because in order to be one with someone and to work and always be with someone you have to show who you really are, with all of your weaknesses along with your abilities. There are times when you don’t get along very well, 100%. But at the same time, I loved how we learned how to ask for forgiveness and all of those things. I believe it’s a good training for marriage! ”
