Love all the pictures and videos from Australia. David is just a beautiful soul inside and out. His voice is still fantastic and I love what he said before he sang “Beautiful”. The video of it is on the front page of FOD. I just checked and realized it hadn’t been posted here yet. Run over to FOD and check it out. So good. David is back!!!! Thanks to Shanny we have videos!

Thank you to everyone who posted videos and pictures….Sky, Bluesky, Abs, Dja! Been so busy with family lately that I haven’t had much time to check in. So sorry!
With these live performances, it’s like David has never left. No matter how much time passes or where he goes or what he does, his voice is the one that pierces my soul like nobody else’s. “When you’ve got it, you’ve got it.” That’s what Simon said when he first met David. Simon got that right.
It’s uplifting to notice how David is received even miles and miles away from home. Who knew that he had fans everywhere? It seems like they appear out of nowhere but they were really there all along ready and waiting to come out.. And you can tell from the tweets which ones met him for the first time and which have been fans for years. But when you blend them all together, the one thing they have in common is the love they feel for him.
Yes Betsy, he should sing live all the time!
And as Grammy awards go, David won Best Singer a long time ago in my book!
Special thanks go to Shanny for her wonderful videos! So glad she finally got the chance to meet David! She waited a long time and as a long time fan, I can just feel her happiness!!!

Oh my goodness, I feel like I have been brought back to life again!!! There is just nothing like David singing live! Bridge over Troubled Water is so beautiful! When things were so quiet we just had to get on with our own lives and carry on but having him singing live again is like a breath of fresh air! I’ve missed this so much! Thanks so much to Shanny for the videos!

Dayzee, #48. Wowzers is right on! I finally got home from a weekend away, and can now listen and view everything in a better way. I’m truly feasting on yesterday’s happenings!!

Gladys, I know what you mean…but it’s creeping up and will be here before we know it. I hope to be able to meet you there. To those who were wondering if David could swim, he is an Eagle Scout. One of the requirements is a swimming lifesaving merit badge. According to National Geographic, that badge is one of the top five hardest badges to earn.

I remember when it was all new. I remember when each movement and phrase would be raved about in detail, for weeks on end, complete with commentary.
In some ways, it is “new again”, though like in my own commentary after the performance I went to I called him: bigger, better, bolder…which I still believe by the way!!!!
But our reaction is different. Quieter. Hushed somehow. Maybe we are all (not just DA) moving at a more leisurely pace. Maybe we are treading lightly, hoping it will last, that it is real, hoarding breadcrumbs against….we do not know what.
I feel it will be in many ways a new journey. And that when he ascends the stage for real, with just us and him once again… no other cause but music (not that DA will ever come separate from the full package that comprises who he is), it will be a new realization for all of us. Him included.
Here’s to that new day. ^_^

I’m still raving about the new nuances in these last performances, just maybe not here as much as I sometimes feel alone, I’m not sure why, or maybe I can guess why but choose not to go there. You can see from the mgrs that are posted others are also raving but on twitter mostly. My spazzing continues sometimes I do disappear for a day or two when real life gets a hold of me lol.
I’ve listened to the playlists countless times. They’re on repeat in the background all day at work. That voice to me is so special and his person has only elevated in my eyes.
So I look forward to those days you speak of so beautifully when he will blow us all away! I believe he will be as amazed as us.

Djafan…. My thoughts exactly. I am so grateful for you and the other Admins for making our continued connections possible.
Yes, my “ooooohs” and “awwwwws” are also somewhat private.
If I had to “pin the tail on ‘the moment’ ” in each one of these vids, I could pin at least a dozen per song. With my eyes closed. In the dark. With both ears plugged.
The “full body” hand gestures. The “spine to torso to fingertip to head flip” sound integration. The “where have you been all my life?” deeper, soulfully fulfilling resonance. (It is said that MJ used chemicals to protect his “sound” so that his voice would mostly be the same over time. DA is just growing into his sound. New discoveries await.)
The abandon to personal interpretation (which has always been his trademark, but now – with his more open relationship to himself – is enhanced) that always leads to a new place.
The skills. Always DA is true to his craft, and is searching to be/do better and better than before.
Just…don’t get me started.
Evidently, I have observed more than I knew I observed. I think in a way, that is the same for all of us.

Bluesky, Yes yes yes!! I showed my 78 year mother the videos and she was ooohing and aaaahing. He looks more mature and confident in his movements was he comment. And the voice well she just went on and on haha. They’re used to me doing all the spazzing so it’s great when I hear my reactions from someone else.
The haircut is different. It had some lift I hadn’t seen. He just has this aura about him, did I hear that from someone before? lol

Bluesky and Dja, I wholeheartedly agree with you both. My take on things with me is I have stepped back a bit because 1) he isn’t back to regular concerts yet and 2) when he told us in his vlog that he wasn’t happy doing things before I know that I feel I want to keep an arms length from him so in my eyes not bother him. ie writing or sending him cards like I did when he was on his mission. If I knew then what I know now, I wonder if I would have sent so many to him. This is hard to explain because I know what he meant when he told us that, but what puzzles me is that he always looked happy. Every time I watch an old video, I can’t help but ask myself “he isn’t happy with that big smile on his face”?
He just wants to do things his way and when he wants to. That’s fine, but like you I can’t wait for it to be him, us and his music! I just know he will blow us away. I’ve seen it in bits and pieces so far. But I want the whole shebang all at once!! 🙂
Another thing is that I think he made that video because of reading things on the fan sites and therefore I don’t like to say anything negative about him because it’s fine with me the way he is doing things….his way. Just miss the old days….but time marches on….and here it is 4 yrs later and I’m counting the days to see him live again! He does have that “it” factor and it keeps getting better! 🙂
Yep his hair is growing out…the question is will he keep it that way now or go get it cut short again! (shhhh) 🙂

Just wanted to send my “two cents” in about the Australia performance.
It is so great to hear him live again. He selected great songs, especially for those who have never heard him sing before. The song that struck me the strongest was one that I played the least on the Begin album, Angels. In all the songs, but for me in this one in particular, I could just feel David’s heart and determination to “get across” his message of hope. I felt the pain he feels for others and his confidence in the comfort of angels that he believes is there for everyone. As so many times before, he had me in tears for his humanity, as well as the beauty of that voice.
I really can’t hear differences in his voice from past years. He has always sounded perfect to me. I do feel a sense of peace and confidence that seems stronger than before.
I am so excited for some new music! Thank you everyone hear for being here.

Jans, I believe he was happy in those pictures but he had his down and sad times co-mingled as most of us do in our lives, ups and downs. He was so young and away from his family, the homesickness alone must have been crazy. I see a young confident, self-assured man in these songs and in his speaking, while still maintaining his unique self that still shines through. I miss those old times but I have to admit this pace is more manageable haha. My life was nuts!

How do I begin this… Well, hello! Anyone remember me? I know I’ve been absent for a (too) long time, and I feel kinda guilty about it. I just sort of lost my “connection” to David when he left for his mission. I felt like there was nothing to hold on to, you know? I have, however, continued to listen to his music, and I’m STILL playing it for my senior-citizens at my gym 😉 I’ve been waiting for David to resurface with something, ANYTHING, to help me build a “relationship” with him again. But I’m still waiting. Oh well, since he asked me to “wait, wait, wait, don’t go”, I’m going to go against ALL my natural tendencies and be patient.
Anyway, the reason I’m writing this is a really selfish one, to be honest. It has come to my attention that traveling to the US isn’t as expensive as it was before. And I’m finally planning a trip to America FOR REAL. So, here comes the selfish part: I’d like to know if the offer still stands about accommodating me if I visit you guys? I know it’s been years, but I still remember all of your lovely, warm hearts and all the lengthy conversations we had. And I certainly haven’t changed (I dunno if it’s a good or a bad thing)! So… anyone up for it?

Bluesky, I bought just one ticket and have no idea why. Haha. Now I am stuck going all by myself. When that “buy tickets” sign comes up my brain gets addled. Tawna got me a ticket for the one night, so she is stuck with me for that. Idaho Falls I bought 2 tickets for both nights and really don’t know who will sit in the other seat. Hoping to find someone who can get away for 2 days and nights. It always works out though. At least we have tickets.
2000 extra seats for BYU. WooHoo!
Bridge Over Troubled Waters is my favorite from Australia. Looks like I am the only one. Can’t wait for more favorites to appear. 🙂

Nope Dayzee, you’re not alone. BOTW is my favorite from AU also. “…sail on silver girl”, puts me right under that bridge over troubled water every time. Most often, I replay that part several times.
And, don’t you even think I’m ‘stuck’ with you at BYU! It will be awesome!! (Ron’s pretty quiet and unobtrusive at these events – he even holds my purse for me at times) 🙂 We should make sure to meet with Bluesky before or after and eat or talk or just give hugs and compare smiles/grins!
