RIP JENNIFER LEIGH BARRY
We want to give our condolences to the Barry family and friends for their loss. Jen was a kind and genuine person. I had the opportunity to meet her and spend some time chatting with her at the Sounds of David event. She was full of life, warm and friendly, so easy to talk to. But most of all you can see her spirit through her work. The links below are filled with Jen’s quotes, pictures and thoughts. Not only of David but all things of beauty through her eyes. What a great loss. The last time I saw Jennifer was in the lobby of the hotel across the street from Abravanel Hall waiting for the performance where David would announce his mission plans. Jan & I were waiting for HeidiJoy and Carol and there was Jen with her camera paraphernalia. It was fun to share our excitement. At the Meet & Greet Jennifer was having such a good time and there was much respect between David and Jennifer. Her graphic talents were amazing and David was one of her favorite subjects. Heartfelt condolences to those she has left behind. She was truly a gifted person who shared. As Tawna said, a beautiful person.

Started tearing up after seeing David’s tweet…such kind words to comfort us during this time.
It’s hard to really find words to say about this loss…wish I had an opportunity to have met this wonderful woman, but I knew about her photos of David, and they were incredible. Very gifted and beautiful. I remember a few years ago when you could donate $21 in honor of David’s 21st birthday for a charity of your choice and she sent you some of her David pictures. I’ll definitely cherish even more those two photos I received from her, and they came on a day when I was down and sick. Always gave me a smile when I looked at them since then. Such a talented woman.
Trying very hard not to spit venom towards the drunk driver…a senseless tragedy that could have been averted, that’s all I can say.
*sighs*
Prayers for all involved, especially the family she left behind. God Bless her family during this difficult time, and this fanbase for each life Jennifer Barry touched through words, photos, hugs and more. Hugs and prayers for all who loved her.
We’ll get through this together.

She was a huge part of David’s career over the years as a well known artist herself capturing and portraying the many special moments.
Her passing leaves an empty place.

So very sad to hear this news. Jen Barry stirred the imagination and heart with all she did for the fans. I can only imagine what a wondrous person she has been for her family. May they be upheld, blessed, comforted and sustained during this difficult time and in all the years to come. Light like hers can never truly go out.

I just can’t describe my heart and the instant aching I felt when I got David’s tweet about Jennifer. I immediately went to the first time I met her at one of David’s concerts in SLC. I had followed her and knew all about her famous photography from the fan sites. I even had a few pictures of hers from some of the fan parties where they passed some out. So when a group of us were waiting for the show to start and visiting together along the front rows, Geri (gemstone) looked right behind me and asked if I had met Jennifer yet. I turned around and exclaimed loudly, “Jennifer Barry!!” I immediately started to cry (like I am right now remembering the moment) and just hugged her. I had loved her and appreciated her so much from a far and now I am meeting her and it was a true joy. I am so saddened by this that there are hardly words to even express. My David friends mean so very much to me and I will forever be grateful that you are all a part of my heart and life. I offer my love and support to her loving husband and son and to each of you at this sad, sad time. ♥

I just found out about Jen’s passing from Davids tweet and my heart just broke. I’m having a hard time believing that she will no longer be with us. She was always so giving of her talent and friendship. My prayers go out to her dear husband, son, family and friends that are feeling her loss. May they find comfort and support in each other. RIP Jen, you have touched the lives of so many and are truly loved.

On David’s website there is a video titled My Kind of Christmas Tour 2011 that shows Jennifer taking pictures of David. She is on from 4:50, right in the middle of the screen with her camera. I know this was a special night for her and I was glad to see her included in that documentary.
Djafan, I appreciate your efforts in putting this article together, and every one who helped us remember Jen. The more I think of her, the more I realize how much she contributed.

This thing is still hanging on so bad with me. It’s still seems like it’s not true. Just a horrible nightmare that I can wake up from. Things happen in life that just doesn’t seem fair. The year after I got out of beauty school, a gal that I had met and become good friends with was killed instantly along with her husband and mother when a truck came across the hiway and hit them. Just terrible. Even though that was in 1963, I still think of her quite often. Love hurts a lot sometimes.
27..this sounds interesting for David. I have been hoping for some more concert dates in other states….maybe someday. Dayzee, another goodie for you to attend? 🙂

Checked the video and I had seen it before and love it. It sure brought back a lot of memories. On the top back left is Heidijoy and we were standing next to her. We were all up front because we were to give David the certificate showing what the Golden Archies do every year. Which is donating 50 of David’s latest albums and cash to the Children’s hospital there in SLC. The certificate lists all the donors names and states and what they donated. David always loves it. One year he signed all the albums. 🙂
The video itself just shows just how big a star he is and it gives the viewer a good inside look of his concert.

The video is a 14 minute documentary of VIP and concert but it wants to bring over the full concert. Maybe Abrra can bring it over, not the full one. It’s ok and no big deal but it is good video of Jen to see.

Dayzee #28, thank you for reminding me of this video. This is the one that also shows my hubby, daughter and my younger granddaughter and grandson during the VIP. It was a great night. Yes, Abrra that’s the one.
I remember Jen with her big camera. I’ve always envied people that know how to use those small cameras with the ginormus lenses. And boy, did she know how to use it! It will be so strange at the upcoming concerts to know that we won’t have any jenleighbarry photos. We are all going to have to find a new ‘normal’, but her sweet family, all of them, have got a challenge at finding it that I can’t even imagine. Where would one start?

Spent yesterday running errands with David singing in my car. What used to be a chore has become a favorite kind of day. Went to Layton to pick up tickets at Will Call. I had purchased 3 sets of tickets online and one set would not print, so I got to see David’s picture in the Davis County Arts Council. An all-round good day.

Just not able to get past Jenn Barry yet. I loved her joy, her passion, and her tenacity. It is so hard to imagine this fall without her. I am going to believe that she gets wings to come and watch, to be there and rejoice as only she can. i will be listening for her joy in my heart. May her presence reverberate within the hearts of her family forever!
Don’t any of the rest of you get the idea that you can somehow skip showing up! Be it here or there, I listen for your “voices”.

Bluesky, I was thinking the same thing about it being hard to imagine this fall without her. It’s funny how people take things for granted until it isn’t there anymore. With people, we grieve because we have loved. She will be missed greatly. I am looking forward to meeting some that I haven’t met yet, including you. I will never get the idea to skip showing up! 🙂
It is odd that some of us hope we are still around to attend concerts and we turn around and a young person’s time is up. I remember when we gathered the family for a 5 generation photo because my grandma was in her late 90’s and we knew she woudn’t be here much longer. Well, 2 people, her son, my dad and my daughter both were gone before she was. She lived to be 102, no one knows when their time is up. Just live the best you can one day at a time.

I’ve had family members coming and going all summer so far and I swear I love them more each time I see them. ♥ They fill up my heart and make it sing. We should always stop and take the time to appreciate each moment of joy that comes our way.
