David James Archuleta (born December 28, 1990) is an American singer-songwriter and actor. At ten years old, he won the children's division of the Utah Talent Competition leading to other television singing appearances.[6] When he was twelve years old, Archuleta became the Junior Vocal Champion on Star Search 2.[6] In 2007, at sixteen years old, he became one of the youngest contestants on the seventh season of American Idol.[7] In May 2008 he finished as the runner-up, receiving 44 percent of over 97 million votes.
We at The Voice want to wish David and all his fans a wonderful safe Fourth of July! And it isn’t a celebration without the best singer of patriotic songs singing for us. Here are some of my favorites. Enjoy!
Now it’s your turn, put your favorites in the comments!
What are you doing? BBQing? Going to see live fireworks? Watching them on TV? Whatever your plans are, we wish you a relaxing weekend.
I will be home, hopefully having a BBQ dinner and watching fireworks on TV. Not a fan of seeing them in person.
Thought I’d share this since I found it interesting from Steven Robinson’s IG. If you remember, he was the drummer in David’s last band. It includes footage of David’s shows.
Hope everyone will have a wonderful 4th of July weekend!! Been a while since leaving a comment, been busy with a great internship for the summer and catching up on good books :D! David’s Patriotic performances always make things a little brighter too 🙂 Anyway, I didn’t get to say this on the previous thread but thank you to Abrra, Bebe, dja and the wonderful people who continue to keep this site running and for the great posts here. This place has always been one of optimism and understanding, and always welcoming 🙂 Love you guys. Still praying and hoping regarding David and that next album of his. Not losing hope!
This was posted by TOfan today, and she commented that he is singing it like a love song….. I agree with her. (Once he got Mark on track)
This was the “it’s not a David concert” in Gilbert, AZ. The one where I was headed back East for vacation and missed the concert. Until the concert was over, I felt like an unfaithful fan for awhile. I got over it and really enjoyed the vacation!
Bebe, what an awesome IG from Steven J. Robinson. He was good as a drummer, I thought.
Tomorrow night at the Stadium of Fire, Journey is the featured group. They will be performing with a new drummer… hope it works out for them.
They really should bring David back for another appearance. They’d have another sell-out!!
Tawna, I was at the “it’s not a David concert”! 🙂 So many good memories. Met a lot of good fans from here, including Dayzee and Dja. I think the big highlight was moving the chairs forward about 10 feet when David came on! 🙂 We wanted to get as close as possible! 🙂 If you weren’t on vacation, I would have met you about a year earlier! This makes me want to see him in concert again even more!
#hehastheitfactor #cutedimples #cutesmile
I also want to thank all the moderators that are keeping this site going during this drought! #howdryiam! 🙂
Have a fun and safe holiday weekend everyone! Happy 4th!
Jans, a drought is right! Unfortunately, we can’t blame this drought on the heat (and Utah is HOT!) going across the nation! This drought is caused from a lack of new music by a guy (and he is HAWT!) that has an incredible voice that is our lemonade! I’m willing to suffer through! 🙂
Yesterday I was thinking about all the money I spent during my trips to Chile, and in my future expenses when I travel to Las Vegas, which is very close to St.George. After much thinking I come to a conclusion, I told myself, are not expenses are investments.
I’m investing in my happiness. David is that, butterflies in the stomach, anticipation, expectations. I think not ask much of life, just a little bit of happiness.
David gives me that, happiness.
Well, Tawna, the David drought is the only drought I’m going through. Although it is summer here in KC, it is still raining off and on which is not normal clear up and into July. Even some tornadoes on the MO side the other night. Rain makes weeds and we are sick of it!! Probably next month we’ll be praying for rain! 🙂 Oh, to be able to quench my thirst for that Hawt guy with his “lemonade”! 🙂
Glad to see you, Kristin!
Gladys, I wholeheartedly agree with you. All the travels to see David is the best traveling I’ve done! I’ve always said that David’s singing makes me happy, so why take it away!
He is an investment of wonderful memories!
Bebe, love the sparkly flags. Steve reminiscing of David and the archuband. That was my favorite band. It’d be great if David called on them😀
Tawna, I was at that not a David concert and wow just wow. I mean who sings like that??? Lol
Jan’s, that’s a good one. I remember us all waiting for his appearance and he blew it out of the park!
Kristin, thank you! Sometimes we get quite due to busy home lives but we so appreciate you guys hanging in with us because it’s coming 😁😳😂
Gladys, I love what you said. Love and happiness are greater than money. And David brings me happiness too, loads of it😆
I can’t wait to see you and all the Archie fans in Saint George!!!
This is the absolute pinnacle of my 4th of July celebration, right here with David. Dja has brought out the ultimate proof that David is the greatest singer of patriotic songs. My favorite is Jan’s, the tennis US Open. What a great spectacle that was. Well done. And of course, David was the key. Tawna’s Constitution Fair God Bless America always makes me smile watching David at the beginning wondering what Mark is playing on the keyboard. Gladys, I feel so fortunate that I was able to be in the audience for some of these performances. I never regret money and effort spent to share time with David and his fans. I only regret the times i missed.
As I watch these beautiful videos one thing comes to my mind. We all need that fellow to be on a stage.
I will spend the afternoon and evening with family, barbecues and fireworks. A great day put in perspective by the voice of David.
Bebe, so grateful you posted Steven’s blog. So nice to see he felt “hugely blessed” to be in the David camp. And thank you for the sparkly Fourth of July artwork.
I just played the patriotic videos Djafan posted up top along with the few clips that were just posted and all I can say is that no other voice compares to The Voice of David Archuleta. A voice like his comes along once in a lifetime. And that’s why we’re all here.
Fenfan#22 You’re back! You’ve been missed! {{{{{{ hugs }}}}
I am in shock!!!! I’m so sad about the loss of JenLeighBarry!! And to make it even more horrible, it was a drunk driver who took this beautiful person from us. Rest in peace, Jennifer. And God bless her family!
What a great loss. The last time I saw Jennifer was in the lobby of the hotel across the street from Abravanel Hall waiting for the performance where David would announce his mission plans. Jan & I were waiting for HeidiJoy and Carol and there was Jen with her camera paraphernalia. It was fun to share our excitement. At the Meet & Greet Jennifer was having such a good time and there was much respect between David and Jennifer. Her graphic talents were amazing and David was one of her favorite subjects. Heartfelt condolences to those she has left behind. She was truly a gifted person who shared. As Tawna said, a beautiful person.
Started tearing up after seeing David’s tweet…such kind words to comfort us during this time.
It’s hard to really find words to say about this loss…wish I had an opportunity to have met this wonderful woman, but I knew about her photos of David, and they were incredible. Very gifted and beautiful. I remember a few years ago when you could donate $21 in honor of David’s 21st birthday for a charity of your choice and she sent you some of her David pictures. I’ll definitely cherish even more those two photos I received from her, and they came on a day when I was down and sick. Always gave me a smile when I looked at them since then. Such a talented woman.
Trying very hard not to spit venom towards the drunk driver…a senseless tragedy that could have been averted, that’s all I can say.
*sighs*
Prayers for all involved, especially the family she left behind. God Bless her family during this difficult time, and this fanbase for each life Jennifer Barry touched through words, photos, hugs and more. Hugs and prayers for all who loved her.
Such sad news about Jennifer Barry, that she was taken way too soon by such a senseless tragedy. May God Bless her and those she left behind. She will be missed.
What terrible news! I will miss her fantastic photos of David. So glad to have met her even for just a short time. This is so hard to take right now. Unbelievable! RIP Jen.
I’m still in disbelief. Twitter has been filled with words of sadness and prayers. The outpouring of love from fans all over the world and David’s tweet warm my soul.
So very sad to hear this news. Jen Barry stirred the imagination and heart with all she did for the fans. I can only imagine what a wondrous person she has been for her family. May they be upheld, blessed, comforted and sustained during this difficult time and in all the years to come. Light like hers can never truly go out.
I just can’t describe my heart and the instant aching I felt when I got David’s tweet about Jennifer. I immediately went to the first time I met her at one of David’s concerts in SLC. I had followed her and knew all about her famous photography from the fan sites. I even had a few pictures of hers from some of the fan parties where they passed some out. So when a group of us were waiting for the show to start and visiting together along the front rows, Geri (gemstone) looked right behind me and asked if I had met Jennifer yet. I turned around and exclaimed loudly, “Jennifer Barry!!” I immediately started to cry (like I am right now remembering the moment) and just hugged her. I had loved her and appreciated her so much from a far and now I am meeting her and it was a true joy. I am so saddened by this that there are hardly words to even express. My David friends mean so very much to me and I will forever be grateful that you are all a part of my heart and life. I offer my love and support to her loving husband and son and to each of you at this sad, sad time. ♥
I just found out about Jen’s passing from Davids tweet and my heart just broke. I’m having a hard time believing that she will no longer be with us. She was always so giving of her talent and friendship. My prayers go out to her dear husband, son, family and friends that are feeling her loss. May they find comfort and support in each other. RIP Jen, you have touched the lives of so many and are truly loved.
Rest in peace, Jen. I never met you, but from what everyone has said, you were so very kind and generous.
I am completely heartbroken for her husband, child, friends and family. It isn’t fair.
I didn’t know that she was the one who took my very favorite picture of David in Portland. The Archugaze one.
The horse pictures, the baseball pictures, all of it – so talented.

The news about Jennifer Leigh Barry is tragic.. It is so sad when a young family has lost the mother.
She was a huge part of David’s career over the years as a well known artist herself capturing and portraying the many special moments.
