Memorial Day has come to mean the beginning of summer, a time for picnics and barbecues, and a holiday to gather around the family. That happiness and freedom, however, is a product of the real cause for the holiday: the sacrifice made by men and women who have fought and died for the freedoms and liberties Americans hold dear. Memorial Day is a time to remember that the American way of life is not cheap but rather has been purchased by the lives and blood of so many who have sacrificed for us to live free and happily now.

That’s interesting to read. But I guess we shouldn’t be surprised. It explains why I always pop in one of David’s CDs and put on something upbeat when I’m having a bad day. Listening to his voice makes me feel better. 🙂

Hope you are all having a great day! Thank you Dja for this poignant post. I’ve been listening to ‘Bring Him Home’ quite a bit lately. It has just been a favorite the last few days. Could be because I have a new grave to visit and ponder at this year. It was with a proud and thankful, yet heavy heart, that was beating in my chest, when I placed a flag on my Dad’s grave on Friday. I took it out early so it could fly a little longer.
