This old picture of David and his mother, Lupe has become a classic. It’s posted here in honor of both Mother’s Day and the seventh anniversary of his trip back home to Murray, Utah during his stint on American Idol. No matter how far, I hope David is able to spend Mother’s Day with his Mom this year.

Happy Mother’s Day!
A while back I wrote a comment about waking up at 3 AM with the sensation of a cat curled up near my head and purring loudly. It was my beloved “Baby” who had passed away a year before. It was March 19, 2011. This was my mom’s 101st birthday anniversary. I remember speaking to the cat as if he was going to get up and snuggle with me. Feeling that he was REALLY there was so intense, I knew it had to be a strong spirit who brought him to me. When the purring stopped after a few moments, I thanked my mother for letting us visit for a bit. Sometimes you just KNOW when something is so special, that it has to come from another place.
It’s the small things that get you. Nothing too important that your life is changed forever, but maybe made a bit happier.
About a month ago I was searching through all my recipes in a folder and a small tin box for a Spinach Pasta Salad recipe that I really like. I even emailed a friend to ask if she still had a copy that I had given her. No luck! So I gave up on the idea.
The other day I opened a kitchen drawer and there it was! My recipe card for Spinach Pasta Salad! it was hanging out in that drawer like it was just waiting to be discovered. I have no idea how I could have missed it when I was hunting for it.
Then a few days later it came to me. I got a big smile on my face and said “Thanks Mom!”
You can call me crazy but these events do happen to me and there is no reasonable explanation why I get what I need when I need it, other than love from the other side.
Someday I’ll talk about the anonymous checks I got in the mail for the last 2 weeks. 😉 They are a real mystery.

Happy Mother’s day to all. I have a similar story Abrra, a little while after my mom had passed I bought her a beautiful mum and put it on her grave , as I was leaving a piece of paper in the plant caught my eye. I picked it up and read these words, the name of this mum is Helen,that was my mom’s name, I thought wow!

Abrra.. I love that story of your mom. I know she is watching over you. When we look for them, there are so many signs that we are loved from the other side. My mom was in her last weeks the night I went to the AI concert and saw DA live for the first time. She was and is a true angel.
I wrote this poem years ago. I share it now for Mothers everywhere who may wonder if they are alone.

Happy Mother’s Day to everyone! Rain, celebration, now rain again! 🙂 That’s the way today has went but all in all a great day. Had about 20 family here and now all is peaceful again! Nothing like family and food!
Loved your stories about your moms Abs and Potluck. I have a similar story, but it involves my husband. All the kids had picked out which rings they wanted from their dad and all of them took them from the drawer they were in. When my oldest daughter went to get her choice, it was gone. She looked, I looked, to no avail. She just knew that one of the other kids took it and I told her no, because they just wouldn’t do that. One day I got this little voice telling me to go look in that drawer again. I did and over in the far, left corner was a tiny piece of paper. I lifted it up and there was the ring. We couldn’t believe it! Must of been Bob telling to go look one more time.
So sweet of David on how he remembers his mama! He has the best heart. ♥

David’s wish for his Mom is very special. I have always liked and respected his relationship with his Madre! I hope all the Mom’s here at The Voice are enjoying their special day! I was able to spend my day with my first Grandbaby, family and my own loving mother too! Feeling very blessed this year! ❤

Happy Mother’s Day to all as this day winds down. I spent a good part of the morning with my Mom at the rehab facility where she is currently staying. I took her a new robe and was able to curl her hair for her. My dear hubby, bless his beautiful heart, took her an orchid corsage. I am simply amazed at how he has taken such a personal interest in my mom’s care since dad passed away last summer. ♥ ♥
I have a little plaque that sits on my fireplace… “Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love our lost ones shines down to let us know they are with us.” I believe this is really possible.

I’m a little late but I hope all of you were able to spend the holiday with those special people who are such an important part of your lives. We were lucky enough to have 4 generations represented for our celebration. As Angel said, I’m feeling blessed.

Hum. Seems like Denise de Kalafe has been around for a while. It makes me wonder: is this just a song DA already knew from years ago? Or… is he studying Spanish music more now… and… is he writing more Spanish music?

Bluesky, I thought the same things lol He did grow up with all things Spanish so maybe that’s way he is so comfortable and natural in that. Good for us 🙂

“How did you know?” says me.
“We’ve had several calls. Lots of calls. All regarding David Archuleta.”

Dayzee.. You must have spoken to the same lady at the IF Arts Council that I did. A very nice lady, and not at all in a hurry to come to the end of a phone conversation… very willing to explain everything in detail.

I think you will like it. I used rainbow corkscrew pasta on other occasions. That would make it Rainbow Pasta Salad, but don’t look for any pot of gold, ok? 😉

With some coming from as far as Denmark, Australia, Argentina, and rumor has it some from the Filippine’s, not to mention California, Colorado, Michigan, etc… So it’s not just because it’s Utah or a close by state. I believe in my gut that more are coming 🙂
