This guy, I can’t tell you the love and respect I have for him and his absolutely incredible talent which can only be surpassed by his character. Maybe he wins the #bestpersonIknow hashtag award. I’ve known him for years now since our Idol days, and have watched him grow from a shy teenage heart throb into such a great dude with such a solid sense of himself, God and all that is important in life. Since the return of his mission we’ve seen each other for a quick minute but have talked several times. Every one wants a piece of him, I knew people were beating down his door with requests and opportunities to lend his golden pipes so I was apprehensive at first to even ask him to do this, as a friend I try not to ask for anything 🙂 But given the nature of the project I figured it was worth asking, so I picked up the phone and gave him a call and told him about the cause. With in a few days he responded with an enthusiastic yes! Such great news! It just so happened that we would both be in Nashville at the same time, this in itself is a miracle.
So he came to Daniel Tashian’s studio on a Friday and the three of us wrote and recorded “Cherry Lane”, one of the happiest songs of the whole record…. stylistically it probably leans a bit more my direction with it’s throw back vibe, but the soothing sound of his voice on this call and answer chorus is what makes it completely magical. You don’t understand, his pitch perfect tone is at such a world class level, and it’s baffling, and yeah, nerve racking to even have my voice on the same track. Seriously, I get a tear whenever I hear him sing. Who doesn’t?! Anywho, “Cherry Lane” is a song for us grown ups, it was that first street I grew up on, it represents a simpler happy time and place when we’d “rather stay outside and play than stare down at the phone all day”. It’s emotional too though, David’s voice beckoning “we could go back, we could go back to where we were”. Thanks David for being a part of this. Also, funny side note, I was so excited that I called my parents from Nashville to tell them about the song the next day, and my mom said “oh honey, the street was actually called “cheery lynn”…. haha, ah well, cherry lane/ cheery lynn, tomato /tomahto close enough 😉

“Never Grow Up” Charity Album : Links to this worthy cause are bolded.
I am supporting O.U.R. in their mission to save children from slavery by getting all of you involved in a charity album!
O.U.R., comprised largely of former NAVY Seals, Special Agents and members of the CIA, sets up and engages in missions with the purpose of rescuing kidnapped children from sexual slavery throughout the world. In October, one such mission resulted in 55 children being freed from sex slavery in Colombia. Another recent undercover mission into Haiti was documented thoroughly here to give supporters a sense of how much planning one of these missions takes.
Each mission costs roughly $20,000, so White’s goal of $25,000 in pledges will result in $20,000 being donated to help pay for one mission, with the rest of the pledges being used to cover production and shipping costs. I really like the song. And David is a master at adding magic to all he touches, beautiful tone he’s using here. This is a worthy cause Brooke is doing this for and great friend that David is agreed to participate.

But hey! it’s still David’s voice we are hearing, and it’s in fine tune (like it wouldn’t be!). I love what Brooke has to say about him. Seriously though, it’s a really pretty song. I’ve always liked Brooke. She’s a sweetie and she has a lovely voice. But like others have said, a little more David would have been nice. And as someone also said, and I agree, it’s Brooke’s CD and it’s for a really good cause so it’s all good.
At least he’s singing solo at the end. Naturally, as a David fan, that’s my favorite part. 🙂
And I loved the write-up Brooke did for David! Very gracious of her to acknowledge him the way she did. Big kudos to her for that. I even liked the little bit she added about the song title. haha That was cute.

Golly, with all these tidbits, instead of slacking off, it makes the idea of a CD all his own almost…… Well you know when you go to a good restaurant and the appetizers are so fun that you almost fill up before the meal gets there? Not happening. Dear DA, it just makes us more hungry. And almost impossible to "imagine" how good it is going to be.

Hoping to be able to visit here more often after the next few days. Been busy with 2 ladies from church buying and wrapping gifts for 25 needy kids. Still got more to do on Sat. night when we get together to finish up. Also, been baking and making candy. Hectic, but fun!

I was a wrist grabber once. A low point in my years of being a fan. I did not mean to, did not plan to, but found I had grabbed David’s wrist as he was trying to sign something. EeeeK! For just a moment I was the recipient of that Archuglare. When he looked up and saw I was a harmless old lady I saw instant forgiveness and a big smile. He is so gracious even when we are idiots.

I just got a notice in my email from Pledge Music. They say that Brookes CD has raised 99% of its goal. Wow. Two days ago they were still at 60%. I really believe that part of that last push is due to some fans of DA out there (through the Voice and FOD and all the others as well).
I am moved to tears. Just thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting this.
This makes my Christmas joyous.

David and his group will be traveling so it’s time again for Silverfox’s prayer.
Dear Lord,
Please take care of David.
Watch over him, protect him from all harm.
Cloak him with your love and give him the strength to endure all that is thrown in his path.
Give David the courage and guidance to say no to those who ask for more than he can reasonably give.
Surround David with loving and supportive people who love him unconditionally as we, his devoted Archangels do.
Separate David from those who have agendas other than for his well being.
Give him rest when he feels weary.
Give him stamina to sustain his hectic pace.
Give him assurance when he feels doubt.
Give him joy when he feels sad and never allow David to feel alone or lonely.
Give us the wisdom to always do right by David.
Help us support David so that it’s always in his best interest.

So is it just me? The second link in #116 takes me to the Church website, but I can’t find anything regarding David…. yes, it doesn’t take much to confuse me. 😉
These photos are definitely easy on the eyes. I’m guessing that there are no videos because the devotionals were held in churches. Sad day. 😦
