I have been missing him. Especially when just yesterday, I came across an envelope from the past I’d forgotten I even had. It contained several bookmarks made by a fan from the year 2010. Each bookmark was a monthly calendar with a tweet from David. I don’t recall who made them, but there was a note from Abrra with the words, “You can trim the rest – Enjoy!” Here they are, in all their grand random gloriousness.
January @DavidArchie I say “Hi I’m lost I just need to turn around.” Guy says, “David Archuleta is lost?” Should that really be surprising?”
February @DavidArchie “Are you who I think you are?” I say maybe… “Ricky Archuleta. You’re Ricky Archuleta, right?” I say no sorry. She walks off lol.
March @DavidArchie I can’t fall asleep. Still not used to the time change I guess. So I decided to handwash a shirt. 🙂 It makes you appreciate it.
April @DavidArchie My left eye’s red again. That little stinker.
May @DavidArchie Bah! Bad internet connections! I have a blog to get up internet! Work with me here please! @DavidArchie Kinda awkward but I found a good connection in front of someone else’s door!
June @DavidArchie Yeah so idk about having 40 different shirts heh.. How about 2 weeks worth? At least it’s not the shiny suit every night again. hahaha
July @DavidArchie Lady comes up to me and says, “excuse me, but has anyone told you you look a lot like David Archuleta?” I say oh a few times. Haha
August @DavidArchie Oh man, I’m not handling hot salsa as well as I thought I was going to.
September @DavidArchie bah, cursed catchy melody ideas in my head that don’t stay long enough for me to get them out! Why can’t they stick around a bit more?
October @DavidArchie Oh my heck, there are cats outside fighting and they’re really loud! Hush cats people are trying to sleep! You shouldn’t fight anyway.
November @DavidArchie Wow that was one useless piece of information. What has twitter done to me? Lol.
December @DavidArchie Well now I have something from 12 years ago on my to-do list. Make homemade green eggs and ham.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the man he brought back. I’m just glad to see this guy here came back with him.

Yep…I’ve got those bookmarks too and I use them all the time! 🙂 He is so hipster..haha. Love his sense of humor and yes, Fenfen, those eyelashes are the 1st thing I noticed…after the mustache….yea Mr. Charley Chaplin!!!! 🙂

I will accept the longer hair up top for now. Yes, I have noticed (as have we all). Just trying to keep it on the DL since you always notice our noticing. We will pretend not to be interested….sort of.

I am not noticing the hair at all, longer or otherwise. I am not looking anywhere above the eyebrows so as to avoid noticing anything at the top of his head. Not even glancing to the side to take any notice of what’s next to the ear.
i think all the hairdressers in Utah should go on holiday to take advantage of the last days of summer.

This is like my little grandson coming to me in his camouflage clothes and telling me that I can’t see him because he is in his camos. 😉 Nope David, I doubt the waitress noticed. I’m thinking she probably saw those eyebrows and eyelashes AND that infamous smile and you were so busted!!

His tweets were so comical! Laughed as I read. He’s got that tongue in cheek dry wit. And I’m almost sure he’s mocking us with “Am I hipster enough now?” as in “I know you don’t like my hair.” haha Oops I mentioned his hair. Sorry, Fen and bluesky.
He came back from his mission very mature but there are still remnants of the old days. I don’t think they will ever go away. Heck, I still like to play skeeball at the quarter machines and win silly prizes.
So David was in a Vietnamese restaurant. He’s adventurous with food.
Wonder what he ate?

To add to that, I would give up reading his tweets, knowing who he just smiled at, knowing what he thought of his last meal, feeling happy he visited his sisters, reading about where he plans to be in September, reading about what recording studio he spent time in…all of that any anything more forever, in exchange for watching him come out on stage, his stage, during a thunderous applause.

I still laugh everytime I see the tweet about Ricky Archuleta. I’ve thought for a while now that he would be great playing the part of Ricky Ricardo in a remake of I Love Lucy. He could really belt out Babaloo. Not sure if I spelled that right. But, you know what I mean. Especially now that his Spanish is up to par, and I’m sure he can speak English with a convincing accent. Now if we can just find a Lucy to go with it.

It looks like they phased out backpacks in favor of shoulder bags during his mission, so he apparently already had a leg up on that one.

Excellent comment. Another question might be, could we ever forget him. Not on your life. Once you’re hooked, it’s for good. He could retire from singing completely (Heaven forbid) and we’d still be listening to his CDs, watching videos on youtube and searching google, twitter, facebook and any other means of information, looking for any scrap of hope that he’s going to sing again. And, it doesn’t matter what he sings. I’ll listen to anything and be grateful. If he wants to sing nothing but hymns from now on, that’s fine with me. I happen to love hymns, but even if I didn’t, hearing him sing them is a spiritual experience for anyone. Yep, we’re goners.

Tonight at dinner I explained to my whole table how I’ve always loved David Archuleta and if he could just meet me I was sure we’d fall in love.
