I am looking forward to both chats on Tuesday because it will be an opportunity to hear first hand about David’s time in Chile. Hearing about of his daily struggles and triumphs only helps to understand where his head is now that he has returned. I see this chat as part of the process of him letting go or passing the torch to the next generation of missionaries. He can know that he did everything possible to complete his mission by showing others the meaning of sacrifice.

    David tweeted twice this morning!:

I’m grateful that there’s music like A Great Big World that plays on the radio.

    and

Have to record in the studio this morning. My heart hurts a little that I can’t watch Chile play today, but I’ll be checking in. #CHI !!

    Recording in the studio??!!!!
This makes me soo happy at the thought of new music coming our way, in that voice that is irresistible.

I decided to check out A Great Big World, at David’s subtle recommendation. Seems I’ve been living in a bubble for the last six years, only listening to David’s music. But when you find the best, why look further? However, if David recommends a song or an artist, it must be good.

At first listen, I liked this song by A Great Big World!
    It’s called “Already Home”.

Yay for recording studios! Thanks Bebe for bringing those over.

Abrra, I concur and may I add that that is a great picture of David. I too will be watching both the Spanish and English live chats. I’m looking forward to not only hearing what kinds of questions are asked and what his answers will be but how he handles himself now in that type of setting, good practice for the future. And of course to hear him SING! I’m hoping some of his tweets are hints at to what he may have been rehearsing, I know I know it’s a huge stretch but a lady can dream 🙂

Thanks for the info! I am still on the fence about watching but may watch the Spanish chat.

    Abrra,
“I see this chat as part of the process of him letting go or passing the torch to the next generation of missionaries.” < I hadn't thought about that.

    Bebe,
Thanks for bringing the tweets and pics. Love the picture of him in studio RECORDING. Yay for recording!!! Hearing that certainly makes this fan happy. 😀 I wonder how many of the songs he's written he is recording? haha All of them, I hope!

Can you ever have too much David Archuleta music? I don't think so. 😀

This is my favorite song, Say Something, by the artist David mentioned in his tweet. It’s hauntingly beautiful. I’d love a duet by David and a female vocalist of his choice. 🙂

Djafan I hope you will take notes during the Spanish chat if he speaks of his music. Some of the questions may relate to the time when he decided to leave his career for his mission and I’d like to know more about his thought process on that subject.

Kari tweeted about travel. I hope its to meet with David for a career strategy session. Maybe that’s why he is recording today.

MT who would ever know if you watched or not? Go for it girlfriend 🙂

Sounds like he’s keeping busy this Monday! RECORDING is music to my ears!

Really like A Great Big World. David has steered me to a lot of good music that I never knew was out there. Goes to show that a lot of the stuff that’s on the radio is NOT the good music! 🙂 Except country…that’s what I mainly listen to on the radio, a lot better than some of the pop..otherwise it’s all David!

Looking closely at the picture of David in the studio. A few things I noticed …

A LARGE TV on the ceiling/wall.
Another large screen on the left wall? Is it another TV?
    Really BIG speakers!
    Christmas lights!
Christmas tree and a snowman on top of the monitor.
    Huge Red spotlight! (mood lighting?)
And ummm … are those Bobble-heads?
Those don’t look like standard wall finishes. Are those sound-proof walls?

Really nice studio! I wonder if it’s David’s studio or someone else’s? Obviously there is someone else there because David couldn’t take a picture of the back of himself. Or could he?

Just checking things out. So happy to see him recording. Thanks for the picture, David!! 😀

I wonder if you have thought of writing a hymn, or maybe you’ve already done? Thanks, I’m Gladys of Argentina.

I had never done, but would be interesting, I thought about it, in fact I try once, but is difficult. I’m just developing my skills, to compose songs, even with pop songs, is a bit difficult for me, since I get the mission I’ve been writing a lot. I’m feeling more comfortable with that, I do not feel a lot of pressure from other people. Writing this out very easily, it’s fun, but maybe someday I’ll try again to write a hymn.

I think the biggest thing I got from listening tonight, (I just heard the English) is that he now understands his life is his own; that decisions are his to make (with the help of God) and he has found the confidence to do just that.
It was interesting hearing him talk about, and analyze, his “pre-mission” interest in dating. 🙂

    Hey Guys!
Saw the Spanish version of David’s live chat and I must say his Spanish is pretty good.
He did struggle some to get the words and thought out correctly but all in all he did great.
There were really good questions especially regarding the future which he mentioned that he is writing songs in Spanish and English, plans to put out an album and do concerts. When? That he didn’t know. He is taking his time because he wants to share all he has learned and experienced these past 2 years.
He feels more confident in himself and more focus on what he feels is right for him.
One thing that made me laugh was how much he loved the FOOD.

He seems so happy and definitely devoted to his faith and church.
Well going to see the English version… Take care everyone!

Someone asked if was going to write a book about his experiences, and I think he said he was thinking about it, because it was such a profound experience. Did anyone else get that?

He said he was happy. He said he loves to sing and his voice is a gift God wants him to use. He said he wrote in his journals every day and that some days were easier than others to write. He said he feels the spirit. FODers who speak Spanish, did I get the translation in the same ballpark as the actual meaning? LOL

Don’t tell me that I have to yell at Senora Ackerman, who taught me Spanish for 3 years in high school.

    Thanks FOD ladies!

I am so proud of this humble, courageous young man right now. I know I will watch these chats many times. So much honesty and heart, right there on his sleeve, in his eyes, his voice, his answers. It was so powerful to witness that and so very rare. No ego, no attempt to impress or persuade, just real emotion and a desire to understand himself and be understood. I teared up so many times because he is so much of the real deal you can feel the honesty and heart right through the screen. I love Nearer My God to Thee too, Fen. We sang it this past Sunday and I remember thinking what beautiful words the song has…and then David sang it tonight and breathed the words right into my heart.

Congratulations Gladys. Great question and answer!

Wow!! David was powerful tonight. He really was outspoken and honest about himself and his beliefs. I see him as a mature man who now looks like a man. I think if he grew his hair longer he might look younger??? Anyway, I am getting more used to the short hair. I also see him more of a business man who people will respect and do business with. I also see a man who is ready for a family of his own. I watched the Spanish interview and even though I get understand most of it, I enjoyed watching David’s animated face and hands. I also got excited when the first question came from our Gladys!!! You go girl!! Before the interviews started, I made it known on Facebook, that no one was to call me or come to my house during the interviews. I still got two calls but I quickly answered and told them to call back after 10:30 pm. They were my daughters so they understood. I thought that the interviews went well and David’s singing was beautiful, as usual. I am happy!!!

He becomes more animated in his expression and gestures. Can’t wait to see him do some Spanish songs onstage. Did you hear him say, aye yay yay? Ricky Archuleta, haha.

I need a translation of that Spanish chat andale. I think someone asked if he could dance the tango? Or was that just wishful hearing on my part. It cracked him up, whatever it was.

I should be asleep right now but I’m so, I don’t even know the words right now. I’ve watched both and I’m affected. Gladys said it best “I am amazed of his spirituality, I know, but it makes me think how little I think of God. I must say that I am selfish, I have to start thinking about others and not focus so much on my.”

Angelica, I’ll go with your theory because he sure lights up like a neon light in Spanish. I didn’t hear anyone ask him about his future plans but they did ask in Spanish chat, people, music is coming.

Angelica, yes I heard the aye yay yay a la Ricky Archuleta. haha Heard it a few times tonight, matter of fact.

Hope someone can translate the Spanish version. For those who don’t understand the language, it seems there were career- oriented questions that we need to hear the answers to.

I am waiting for the YouTube’s to be uploaded to the LDS Channel. I can isolate the songs and make mp3’s from those videos. I tried to capture video last night but there were times when the plug in crashed and froze the screen. I decided to let it go and wait for YouTube video. I can work with those a lot easier.

Oh Fen, I thought you said Nearer My God to Thee was your favorite hymn he sang and now I see it was I Need Thee Every Hour. I love that one too. I don’t know why Nearer My God to Thee struck me with such force at church when it is such an old hymn and I suppose I just went through the motions all these years, not really appreciating the words. I found this tonight and until we get the songs separated that David sang, (and the mp3s Abrra makes/hint) I am posting this. So beautiful.

Fen, I know it is often a funeral song. I guess that’s why I’ve never really listened to the words. I remember a Pogo cartoon in the newspaper when I was around 12. One of the characters got stuck in quicksand up to his neck and was calmly singing the refrain when another character came along and saved him. Why did the memory of that silly cartoon stay with me all these years when other things were forgotten almost as soon as they happened? Life is weird.

As for not letting you chat, I suspect your mouse cursor was “blinking” in the chat for Unplugged and you didn’t realize it. If you clicked the chat line in saragirl, you could chat there.

Nice to be back on the computer after spending a few days in the wilderness. I attended a funeral in a tiny Utah town.. It was a beautiful service for a wonderful lady. No phone service there, no computer. Can’t beat spending hours in the car with just David and me though. Those enormous red rocks under a blue sky make a great backdrop. I will be in Las Vegas tending a cat and 4 fishes for the next 2 weeks. Plenty of room if anyone would like to come and visit.

Chat was great last night. It was my first opportunity to see the Face to Face. David opened his heart and let us see what a remarkable person he is. His emotions and tears were so genuine.. I am impressed that his fans are so devoted to him they would watch and listen to him speaking a language they did not understand. He is just captivating and able to relate his feelings without the need for words. It was good to have Donna and Gladys helping us out with the translation. The music he included was perfect. Left me wanting more. And more.

Jan, missed you last night. Doesn’t seem like a fan gathering without you.
