I am looking forward to both chats on Tuesday because it will be an opportunity to hear first hand about David’s time in Chile. Hearing about of his daily struggles and triumphs only helps to understand where his head is now that he has returned. I see this chat as part of the process of him letting go or passing the torch to the next generation of missionaries. He can know that he did everything possible to complete his mission by showing others the meaning of sacrifice.

    David tweeted twice this morning!:

    David Archuleta @DavidArchie · 28m

I’m grateful that there’s music like A Great Big World that plays on the radio.

    David Archuleta @DavidArchie · 10m

Have to record in the studio this morning. My heart hurts a little that I can’t watch Chile play today, but I’ll be checking in. #CHI !!

  3. bebereader said

    Recording in the studio??!!!!
This makes me soo happy at the thought of new music coming our way, in that voice that is irresistible.

I decided to check out A Great Big World, at David’s subtle recommendation. Seems I’ve been living in a bubble for the last six years, only listening to David’s music. But when you find the best, why look further? However, if David recommends a song or an artist, it must be good.

At first listen, I liked this song by A Great Big World!
    It’s called “Already Home”.

Multitasking maybe just a little here in the studio…. Gotta show some support though. Chile vs. Netherlands! #Chile #worldcup2014

Yay for recording studios! Thanks Bebe for bringing those over.

Abrra, I concur and may I add that that is a great picture of David. I too will be watching both the Spanish and English live chats. I’m looking forward to not only hearing what kinds of questions are asked and what his answers will be but how he handles himself now in that type of setting, good practice for the future. And of course to hear him SING! I’m hoping some of his tweets are hints at to what he may have been rehearsing, I know I know it’s a huge stretch but a lady can dream 🙂

Thanks for the info! I am still on the fence about watching but may watch the Spanish chat.

“I see this chat as part of the process of him letting go or passing the torch to the next generation of missionaries.” < I hadn't thought about that.

Thanks for bringing the tweets and pics. Love the picture of him in studio RECORDING. Yay for recording!!! Hearing that certainly makes this fan happy. 😀 I wonder how many of the songs he's written he is recording? haha All of them, I hope!

Can you ever have too much David Archuleta music? I don't think so. 😀

  7. Abrra said

#4 Interesting and fun decorations in the studio- bobble head dolls and colored guitar lights!

This is my favorite song, Say Something, by the artist David mentioned in his tweet. It’s hauntingly beautiful. I’d love a duet by David and a female vocalist of his choice. 🙂

Djafan I hope you will take notes during the Spanish chat if he speaks of his music. Some of the questions may relate to the time when he decided to leave his career for his mission and I’d like to know more about his thought process on that subject.

Kari tweeted about travel. I hope its to meet with David for a career strategy session. Maybe that’s why he is recording today.

MT who would ever know if you watched or not? Go for it girlfriend 🙂

  8. jans11 said

I am hoping to watch both the Spanish and English version. Never enough of the Archuleta no matter what language! Thanks, Djafan for the blue link to make it easier to connect to. 🙂

Sounds like he’s keeping busy this Monday! RECORDING is music to my ears!

Really like A Great Big World. David has steered me to a lot of good music that I never knew was out there. Goes to show that a lot of the stuff that’s on the radio is NOT the good music! 🙂 Except country…that’s what I mainly listen to on the radio, a lot better than some of the pop..otherwise it’s all David!

  9. MT said

Looking closely at the picture of David in the studio. A few things I noticed …

A LARGE TV on the ceiling/wall.
Another large screen on the left wall? Is it another TV?
    Really BIG speakers!
    Christmas lights!
Christmas tree and a snowman on top of the monitor.
    Huge Red spotlight! (mood lighting?)
And ummm … are those Bobble-heads?
Those don’t look like standard wall finishes. Are those sound-proof walls?

Really nice studio! I wonder if it’s David’s studio or someone else’s? Obviously there is someone else there because David couldn’t take a picture of the back of himself. Or could he?

Just checking things out. So happy to see him recording. Thanks for the picture, David!! 😀

  10. MT said

Oh, I just thought about something. I’ll bet those little statue/bobble-head things are gifts from fans!!! Awwww, sweet. 🙂

  38. fenfan said

    He sang my favourite hymn.

  39. gladys1961 said

I wonder if you have thought of writing a hymn, or maybe you’ve already done? Thanks, I’m Gladys of Argentina.

I had never done, but would be interesting, I thought about it, in fact I try once, but is difficult. I’m just developing my skills, to compose songs, even with pop songs, is a bit difficult for me, since I get the mission I’ve been writing a lot. I’m feeling more comfortable with that, I do not feel a lot of pressure from other people. Writing this out very easily, it’s fun, but maybe someday I’ll try again to write a hymn.

  40. tawna21 said

fenfan, what is your favorite hymn that he sang?

Loved it too Marlie. I felt like I was listening to a family member, that young man has become so familiar to me. I so appreciate how open and honest (and kind) he is. If you are a David fan, you should watch. Oh, and the singing was not too shabby either. So wonderful to hear him again.

Skydancer, it was a marvelous night.

David is still David, but oh my, he is so confident of who David is now. His soul is beautiful!!! ♥ ♥

  46. Poof said

I think the biggest thing I got from listening tonight, (I just heard the English) is that he now understands his life is his own; that decisions are his to make (with the help of God) and he has found the confidence to do just that.
It was interesting hearing him talk about, and analyze, his “pre-mission” interest in dating. 🙂

    Hey Guys!
Saw the Spanish version of David’s live chat and I must say his Spanish is pretty good.
He did struggle some to get the words and thought out correctly but all in all he did great.
There were really good questions especially regarding the future which he mentioned that he is writing songs in Spanish and English, plans to put out an album and do concerts. When? That he didn’t know. He is taking his time because he wants to share all he has learned and experienced these past 2 years.
He feels more confident in himself and more focus on what he feels is right for him.
One thing that made me laugh was how much he loved the FOOD.

He seems so happy and definitely devoted to his faith and church.
Well going to see the English version… Take care everyone!

    Rapport says:
    June 24, 2014 at 7:53 pm

Someone asked if was going to write a book about his experiences, and I think he said he was thinking about it, because it was such a profound experience. Did anyone else get that?

He said he was happy. He said he loves to sing and his voice is a gift God wants him to use. He said he wrote in his journals every day and that some days were easier than others to write. He said he feels the spirit. FODers who speak Spanish, did I get the translation in the same ballpark as the actual meaning? LOL

Don’t tell me that I have to yell at Senora Ackerman, who taught me Spanish for 3 years in high school.

    Thanks FOD ladies!

I am so proud of this humble, courageous young man right now. I know I will watch these chats many times. So much honesty and heart, right there on his sleeve, in his eyes, his voice, his answers. It was so powerful to witness that and so very rare. No ego, no attempt to impress or persuade, just real emotion and a desire to understand himself and be understood. I teared up so many times because he is so much of the real deal you can feel the honesty and heart right through the screen. I love Nearer My God to Thee too, Fen. We sang it this past Sunday and I remember thinking what beautiful words the song has…and then David sang it tonight and breathed the words right into my heart.

Congratulations Gladys. Great question and answer!

  50. Suzy-Q said

Wow!! David was powerful tonight. He really was outspoken and honest about himself and his beliefs. I see him as a mature man who now looks like a man. I think if he grew his hair longer he might look younger??? Anyway, I am getting more used to the short hair. I also see him more of a business man who people will respect and do business with. I also see a man who is ready for a family of his own. I watched the Spanish interview and even though I get understand most of it, I enjoyed watching David’s animated face and hands. I also got excited when the first question came from our Gladys!!! You go girl!! Before the interviews started, I made it known on Facebook, that no one was to call me or come to my house during the interviews. I still got two calls but I quickly answered and told them to call back after 10:30 pm. They were my daughters so they understood. I thought that the interviews went well and David’s singing was beautiful, as usual. I am happy!!!

  51. jans11 said

I loved everything about both versions even tho I couldn’t understand the Spanish. It was just so good to watch David in his element. His laugh is the best! 🙂 And to hear him sing again….absolutely ♥ ! Some of his answers explained more in depth a lot of what he said in his last vlog. He is a beautiful person, inside and out. The old saying is “pretty is as pretty does” so he is gorgeous! I wish him the best of everything in his upcoming future! Loved his hair and new belt! 🙂

  52. Angelica said

Suzy Q, I got a call right before the chat started from a good friend in another town who knows how much I love David. When I told her I couldn’t talk right then, she laughed and said she knew because that was why she called. Her daughter in another state told her and she wanted to make sure I didn’t miss David. As if, lol.

  54. bebereader said

So glad I caught both the Spanish and English chats. I loved seeing how animated David is in expressing himself. He laughed a lot and was a joy to watch, even if I only understood a small portion of the language.

I think learning Spanish helped David’s English. His sentences in English are fluent now with his words flowing easily without any hesitation. A big accomplishment! He’s a huge inspiration to people of all ages and faiths. Still proud to call myself a forever fan.

  55. gladys1961 said

I like to think that when they said my name, david smiled because he reminded me, (or maybe he remembered my chocolates) a girl can have dreams, right?

I am amazed of his spirituality, I know, but it makes me think how little I think of God. I must say that I am selfish, I have to start thinking about others and not focus so much on my.

  56. djafan said

    Hola mis amigas!

First, Gladys, wow, did you see David recognize “Gladys from Argentina” loved it.

I loved loved David being comfortable in his own skin that he acknowledges isn’t perfect but he’s ok with that. I haven’t watched the English chat but the not only did his Spanish blew me away. The way he expressed himself, his mannerisms, and most of all he had to say. My already over the top admiration just multiplied. I believe with all my heart David is going to be noticed.

Going to check out the English chat.

David is writing in English and Spanish, he will be making appearances and having concerts. He’s not sure when but it’s being worked on.

Bebe, he is so different in English than he is in Spanish when he performs and it was evident even in the chats. Like some ancestral Honduran spirit takes possession of him a little bit. He becomes more animated in his expression and gestures. Can’t wait to see him do some Spanish songs onstage. Did you hear him say, aye yay yay? Ricky Archuleta, haha.

I need a translation of that Spanish chat andale. I think someone asked if he could dance the tango? Or was that just wishful hearing on my part. It cracked him up, whatever it was.

  60. djafan said

I should be asleep right now but I’m so, I don’t even know the words right now. I’ve watched both and I’m affected. Gladys said it best “I am amazed of his spirituality, I know, but it makes me think how little I think of God. I must say that I am selfish, I have to start thinking about others and not focus so much on my.”

Angelica, I’ll go with your theory because he sure lights up like a neon light in Spanish. I didn’t hear anyone ask him about his future plans but they did ask in Spanish chat, people, music is coming.

  61. bebereader said

Me too djafan! I slept for two hours and then popped up again. Found this tweet from Kari to David:

@kariontour @DavidArchie so proud of you! Your spirit and honesty inspires me! 5 hours ago

Angelica, yes I heard the aye yay yay a la Ricky Archuleta. haha Heard it a few times tonight, matter of fact.

Hope someone can translate the Spanish version. For those who don’t understand the language, it seems there were career- oriented questions that we need to hear the answers to.

  62. fenfan said

i just finished watching the Spanish version. I heard the aye yay yay! And I heard Gladys from Argentina! So glad he answered your question, Gladys. He was smiling. I think he knew it was you.

I am waiting for the YouTube’s to be uploaded to the LDS Channel. I can isolate the songs and make mp3’s from those videos. I tried to capture video last night but there were times when the plug in crashed and froze the screen. I decided to let it go and wait for YouTube video. I can work with those a lot easier.

Oh, and one more thing…. I really liked David’s comments last night (in the English session) where he was referring to himself as a celebrity (David Archuleta), he has accepted that role and learned how to deal with it!!

  72. djafan said

Betsy, ditto to what you said. Crying with you, he surely gets it.

Gladys, I have a plan, talk to you soon 🙂

  73. Angelica said

Oh Fen, I thought you said Nearer My God to Thee was your favorite hymn he sang and now I see it was I Need Thee Every Hour. I love that one too. I don’t know why Nearer My God to Thee struck me with such force at church when it is such an old hymn and I suppose I just went through the motions all these years, not really appreciating the words. I found this tonight and until we get the songs separated that David sang, (and the mp3s Abrra makes/hint) I am posting this. So beautiful.

  74. Abrra said

I have recorded all 6 songs from the videos. I need the 3 titles ( in the order he sang them) for Spanish songs. I can’t label the mp3’s to upload until I have correct titles.

Can anyone help with the Spanish song titles?

Here is a link to the Candy Jar folder for English songs:

EDIT: ALL songs are now in this folder.

  75. sarahsmom said

delurking to give you the titles.
I do not speak spanish so I hope the titles translated correctly. I am a child of God(Soy un hijo de Dios), Near My God To Thee (cerca de Ti Señor-Nearer) ,The Spirit Of God (El Espiritu de Dios)

  76. Abrra said

Thank you Sarahsmom! They are all done now! Use the same link in #74 for all songs.

And thanks to Angelica for the English titles. Sorry to keep you up late.

  77. fenfan said

Thank you so much Abrra for uploading all those songs.
I downloaded all of them. But I found that both copies of Called to Serve are the same – in English.
Hope we can get I Need Thee Every Hour later.
Yes Angelica, I was referring to I Need Thee Every Hour. I like Nearer My God to Thee as well, although I often think of it as a funeral song.
Btw I Need Thee Every Hour is at 39:00min of the English chat. Yes, I have replayed that bit once or twice or thrice or…

Also, I have an MP3 of the entire interview in English. here:
    FaceToFace Chat David Archuleta.mp3
    Audio (.MP3)

    Spanish interview here:
    FaceToFace Chat (SPANISH) David Archuleta.mp3

Sorry for the confusion. I won’t go into it but having to keep track of all the songs in 2 languages was a challenge 🙂

  79. gladys1961 said

I’ve trancripto half of the interview, I sent it to djafan. Tonight I finished the entire interview.
Sometimes I’m amazed at myself for the things I do for David.
But seeing his smile to hear my name, it makes me forget the fatigue that I can feel. It’s my pleasure.

  80. Abrra said

That is so awesome! This man keeps us busy and wares us out! I love doing what I can for the fans, too.

  81. Angelica said

Thank you Gladys! Thank you Abrra!

Fen, I know it is often a funeral song. I guess that’s why I’ve never really listened to the words. I remember a Pogo cartoon in the newspaper when I was around 12. One of the characters got stuck in quicksand up to his neck and was calmly singing the refrain when another character came along and saved him. Why did the memory of that silly cartoon stay with me all these years when other things were forgotten almost as soon as they happened? Life is weird.

Thank you so much, Abrra, for the downloads ♥

Looks like more progress for David’s music. Stephanie Mabey was in the same studio that David used the other day.

stephaniemabey @biancamerkley Yes 🙂 Today was backing vocals for @davidarchie. I will be recording some new solo stuff soon though! I am also finishing a duo project called Gusto that I’m excited about. Lots of stuff in the works 🙂

Fun night in chat. We started in Unplugged then moved the party over to saragirl channel to watch the Face To Face chats. Thanks to Gladys and Donna for helping with the Spanish chat translation.

    Here is the Sunday puzzle!

I read on the puzzle site that you should be able to do the puzzles on iPad. I thought you said you had one? It might work out better then with the laptop mouse pad thingy.

  98. jans11 said

Tried to get on but when I went to the saragirl link I was getting the sound from unplugged and the chat from saragirl and it wouldn’t let me chat. Some kind of mixup, so I quit trying. 😦

Going to do the puzzle…thanks, Abrra!

  99. jans11 said

Nice one, Abrra! Double nice! 🙂

  100. Abrra said

Jan I saw that you were in both rooms and I did type in both rooms for you to close out Unplugged or you would have a problem. If that happens again, check all your browser tabs and you will find the one you need to close.
As for not letting you chat, I suspect your mouse cursor was “blinking” in the chat for Unplugged and you didn’t realize it. If you clicked the chat line in saragirl, you could chat there.

    Glad you like the puzzle!

Nice to be back on the computer after spending a few days in the wilderness. I attended a funeral in a tiny Utah town.. It was a beautiful service for a wonderful lady. No phone service there, no computer. Can’t beat spending hours in the car with just David and me though. Those enormous red rocks under a blue sky make a great backdrop. I will be in Las Vegas tending a cat and 4 fishes for the next 2 weeks. Plenty of room if anyone would like to come and visit.

Chat was great last night. It was my first opportunity to see the Face to Face. David opened his heart and let us see what a remarkable person he is. His emotions and tears were so genuine.. I am impressed that his fans are so devoted to him they would watch and listen to him speaking a language they did not understand. He is just captivating and able to relate his feelings without the need for words. It was good to have Donna and Gladys helping us out with the translation. The music he included was perfect. Left me wanting more. And more.

Jan, missed you last night. Doesn’t seem like a fan gathering without you.

Great puzzle Abrra. You always find a picture with something interesting to me. And they are always lovely.

All these David sightings are giving me some big smiles! 🙂

Another picture of David at the Art Fair with Mietra and other friends. Not sure about the black socks with shorts though lol.

  106. Abrra said

One of the girls in #103 has similar sox. His sox match his shoes. He is big on coordination. It might be a trend in Utah among youth 🙂 It’s so nice to see him out having fun with friends.

I haven’t disappeared. Been busy transcribing David’s English chat for you to read. I couldn’t even go to chat last night for that reason. That man can sure talk! LOL It should be coming to you soon.

  109. djafan said

Wow love all the sightings! Thank you Abrra and Grammyj for the great pictures. The black socks are very common down in Socal lol It’s the fashion.

    What a handsome man!

I haven’t disappeared either! Spanish to English and yes that man can talk! lol

  110. tawna21 said

    great puzzel, Abrra…. thanks!

  111. bebereader said

Clearly I haven’t seen men wearing black socks with shorts here in NY yet because our summer weather has just begun. But I will keep my eyes open for this latest fashion trend.

And here I was thinking that David had no white socks because of the clothes he gave away, when the truth is that he actually is in tune with the latest fashion trends. Who knew? 😉

  112. Angelica said

Well, at least he’s starting to get with the fashion trends again. I’m not gonna complain about the black socks when there are others walking around with their pants below their behinds. smh to eternity on that fad. I do love that tie in the pic of him giving someone a ride home from church. Looks like the soft chewy caramels by Lancaster. I keep seeing the ads on TV and telling myself I need to try them. Expensive though! photo 31LuNf7XpFL.jpg

And those eyes! Like glittering jewels inset in onyx.

  113. Dayzee said

Angelica, you are such a foodie 🙂 You have much in common with our mutual friend. I did try those caramels. My favorites are still the ones I find at Deseret Book, whatever those are.

Sorry I missed the SLC Arts Festival. Sigh. Great to find so many sightings pictured here. Could use some more. Keep them coming.

Thanks to Dja and Bebe for giving up their time to bring us goodies. Waiting patiently, as always
