Hallo, hallo, hallo, hallo, hallo! What? Been taking a bit of a breather and reading P.G. Wodehouse’s humorous novels to relax and restore my sanity from a month of just. one. damn. thing. after. another. It began with a summons to jury duty for District Court for the entire month (never had to serve). Tornado ripped through my yard and uprooted several nearby trees (I slept like a baby through the entire thing). Husband left me (staying with his 91 year old mom who broke her hip and lives 80 miles away). Suspected of cancer (found not guilty by surgery). Uneventful recovery from surgery, excepting a one-way, rather spirited discussion with the commode that was so compelling it lasted well into the wee hours. I recall earlier that day hearing the nurse from recovery, as she wheeled my bed back to my waiting husband that she had given me Morphine, Dilaudid, Zophran, Valium, blah…blah…blah…” and she is STILL AWAKE AND TALKING TO ME!” She seemed to take it as an insult to her euthanasia skills. More nerve than a bad tooth, which incidentally, and you will laugh when I tell you, I developed the very next morning from an abscessed rear molar that had to be pulled after a week of excruciating pain. I don’t like to complain but really, that is a bit thick for one month to pile on. Well, April showers, bring May flowers and at long last, all is well at La Casa de Angelica. In fact, for the first time in a long time, I feel like this.
David is home. David is happy. David is dancing. 
and sending food tweets.
And apparently thoroughly enjoying being a chick magnet. Why, his first words when disembarking from the plane to meet his family were, “Wow, you’re the first women I’ve given a hug to in two years.” Where was his head? If P. G. Wodehouse’s Bertie Wooster had put that question to Jeeves, he would have replied, ‘Well Sir, “In the Spring a young man’s fancy lightly turns to thoughts of love.” and I rather doubt the right honorable David Archuleta, RM, will prove the exception.’

Any one of those difficulties would have been quite enough for a mere mortal. You have weathered the storm and come out stronger than ever. I am so happy to have you back!

Going back to the previous thread for a second… Bluesky’s #51 comment brought me the thoughts that I needed to have. It will come, give it time. Then the quote by Theodore Roethke, that you put up top, cemented it for me. I can do this. I can be patient. I can do those things in my life that need to be done while I wait for ‘breaking news’ in the world of David Archuleta.

Wow, Angelica, you have been through some month! Glad you are doing better now. I’m waiting patiently and will continue to do so.
I’ve been so busy with caring for my mom and having family in for what looks like their last visits with her, that I haven’t been able to enjoy David’s homecoming and first month home like I’d have liked to, but I’ve been trying to keep up with things the best I can.
Abrra, that lemonade looks so good. I must be thirsty!
Had a short dream about David last night, or I should say early this morning. I was talking to some friends, not sure who they were or where we were in the dream, and all the sudden I heard this familiar voice say, “this is a song for all my senior fans”. I heard him say senior fans and I had to giggle. Then I heard this amazing voice singing, You Are My Song. I turned around to see were it was coming from and I woke up! Dang it!!!
Don’t know the meaning behind it but I will take any dream where I hear his beautiful voice, and YAMS is a great choice as a dedication for us “seniors”, right? I Must really be missing him. 😦

Glad you have a sense of humor to keep you going. 🙂 Always enjoy reading your posts. ♥ David is enjoying his return and it makes me happy to see him happy and things moving along his way..maybe the song “My Way” should be his song. 🙂 He has an immovable tenacity about him that makes him a strong person no matter what he thinks.

I’m glad to see that David is making the rounds enjoying friends and food. He must have really missed his family and friends. But knowing he’s a foodie, I’ll bet he also missed all his favorite foods as well. It looks like he’s making up for lost time in every way he can.

I’m just speeding through getting any news of David while at my son’s wedding. Thursday night dinner with just family at Poogan’s Porch in Charleston, Rehearsal dinner last night at Magnolia’s, and the wedding this evening at Legere-Waring House Plantation. I’m having such a blast – even so I will miss being at chat tonight 🙂

I know for sure that he is just as mentally, physically, and spiritually involved as ever he he as been.
At this particular time, he has the chance to assess all that has gone before and muse on how to build what may come. This break – a two year mission, which seems a strange life to most of us – was for him the first bit of normality he had had in his life for a long time. The pressures surrounding him could not have been more opposite.
What a way to gain perspective.
And DA, who has always been introspective, and a long-term planner, a person who definitely cares as much about the way things are done as the fact that they get done, has to be considering the grand view of the life he is choosing and it’s consequences – here and now, as well as for the future.
While he had to get great fun and helpful insight from his new “You Tube” friend, he also had to be reminded of the lack of privacy that is an inherent part of the entertainment industry.
So…..
Dear DA,
I love and trust you. You are coming back to us, to a life that in some ways is at odds with your nature and yet completely essential to it.
I wouldn’t want it any other way than on your own terms.

At least we might finally get to see him dance. That tweet, “dancing like you’ve never seen me” is right. We have yet to see him really turn it loose! Oh to have been a fly on his wall at the time.
Speaking of flies, I see he is still attracting the females like flies wherever he goes. That belt looks similar in style to the belt in the gif walking on stage on the top right side bar. Next to the “this here beauty” spaghetti. Thanks djafan for pointing out that well-turned phrase. He cracks me up.

The Elders came by today and cleaned out under my deck. Was so nice of them…but it was the service thing that David was talking about. 🙂 They informed me tho that they might be transferred on May 1. 😦 But they would still come by and see me! 🙂

The David tweets are sending me over the edge! Who says “this here beauty”? Well David of course lol. He seems to have a new way with words. And this “dancing like you’ve never seen me”? haha well I wnat to see it like yesterday! That Happy song has such a dancy beat. I want David to do a cover of this song and do the dance like never before!
I am so excited and grateful that he is tweeting almost daily continuing his relationship with us 🙂 Letting us in on the transition in his own way. Eating out, visiting friends, going to church, giving us quotes, going to comedy clubs, writing and finishing songs and in Spanish no less. These are exciting times and I’m so glad to be on this journey. Can’t wait to hear David’s lyrics and melodies in espanol 🙂

I am glad that my puzzle selections are fun for those who do them. I try to pick something that is interesting and may keep you guessing until the end.
It’s starting to feel like old times again with David talking about music. That’s my favorite topic, with HAIR!!! being a close second, of course. It’s nice to see him out and about on his own with no handlers tagging along. It makes the pictures more “real” where in the past so many were posed with celebs rather than “just folks”. I am all about the pictures as everyone knows by now. Feels great to be able to share them here.

34, top picture, is one of my favorites of David. So pure and serenely happy!
I live in Kansas City and we had a lot of storms, hail and tornado warnings, but thank God none hit us or close around! Prayers to those that were hit and lost everything.
