When I first saw David on American Idol back in 2008 I was immediately drawn to him because of his angelic singing voice. But there was something else that drew me in, something powerful yet hard to define at the time. He was so captivating for a boy of 17. And very endearing. It was refreshing to see a young person with manners and so much integrity. His character, good nature, million dollar smile, infectious laugh and the way he showed grace under pressure together with the sound of his voice all contributed to my never missing a night of Season 7.
More than five years have passed since his Idol audition. I watched as he grew and changed. His personality unfolded before our eyes. He blossomed into a handsome young man whose inner beauty shines through. Edith nailed it when she said, “I’ve admired you not only for your singing but for your person.”
By now, his voice and his beauty play equal parts in why I’m his fan for life. Each enhances the other. He is just as beautiful as his voice and I’ve grown to respect him for all that he is and all that he is yet to become.

I remember seeing him for the first time, when he auditioned. I turned to my daughter and said “there’s your winner, right there” Soft spoken,polite,clean cut, really cute, clean cut young man with an “oh wow!” beautiful smile,and he can sing!!

True words, Bebe!! The voice and beauty of this boy turned man simply cannot be measured. I’m pretty sure David Archuleta will be one of the timeless voices in the world of music. Aaaannd, his distinguishing good looks will not be forgotten either. 🙂

Thanks to his dedicated fanbase, many of these tracks were shared online, catching the eye of the label Entertainment One, who decided to compile them into a proper album: “No Matter How Far.”
“The album’s lead single, string-laced sentimental ballad “Don’t Run Away,” is one of two selections (along with “Heart Falls Out”) that has not previously been released in any format. With help from British producers The Nexus (David Sneddon and James Bauer-Mein), the incomplete demo was polished into one of Archuleta’s finest moments.”

David Archulta has been away on a Mormon mission in Chile since March of last year, but it hasn’t stopped his people from releasing new material from the American Idol season 7 runner up.
Billboard is hosting a listening party of the singer’s latest album, No Matter How Far, a compilation of unreleased tracks.
Two tracks are brand new, including the sweet ballad, “Don’t Run Away,” and “Heart Falls Out.”
No Matter How Far is set to be released on March 26 and can be pre-ordered on iTunes.

Listening to Billboard now. I agree with you, Dja, the flow of the songs highlight and compliment each other so beautifully. In my opinion, this is his most cohesive, finished album to date.
I’m surprised and I didn’t expect to be. I can’t find more words right now.

I finally got to listen to the Billboard Livestream, with headphones; it makes all the difference. You get to hear every background vocal and they’re all David; it’s incredible. The instrumentation is beautiful on this album. And whoever did the mixing should be praised. I love that they started it with NEBTD and ended with Forevermore! I just love this album.

Bebe you have written an article on my favorite topic. Beautiful David. The first two years I really tried not to mention that David was beautiful. It did not seem to be an appropriate adjective for a teen boy. There was handsome, nice looking, awesome, soooo cute etc. Then I was looking at his picture ( probably courtesy of Abrra ) and I thought, “That is just beautiful”. I made a conscious decision that beautiful was the best description for David and I would stop seeking synonyms. Beautiful voice, beautiful soul, beautiful thoughts, beautiful deeds, beautiful attitude, beautiful ideals, beautiful face. But the neck is macho.

He is ssoooo great in every way. I wish he would do an album of all the songs he sang on American Idol but with the entire song instead of those short versions. I really loved every song he did on Idol and including his Idol tour songs. They suited him perfectly. Could Kari get on that?????/!!!!!

For me it has always been about the voice. David’s emotion and connection when he sings keeps me riveted. A bonus is that he is also a beautiful person. That is what makes me stay a fan as much as the music.
How about some scream caps? I was watching an interview and the camera just lingered on him. What was I supposed to do?

Djafan #7 It always amazes me how much control David has over his voice in live concert jumping around, swinging his arms…and hitting every note with perfect pitch. Sliding up to those falsetto notes and then dropping down to the low, rich tones of “You… Are… So…….Beautiful….yeah” Gah, I think I’m in love 🙂

Ok, I have calmed down now. (Probably because I haven’t listened to HFO yet this morning. LOL) I reread your article and you are so right! (I started to quote you, then realized I was about to quote the whole thing.)
When I first fell in love with David’s voice, that was all it was. I even remember telling someone about a year or so ago, “I’m not a fan because he’s cute! I’m a fan of his voice, the music, that’s it!” And I meant every word.
In the beginning, and for a very long time he was just a cutie, he was charming, but it was absolutely ALL about “The Voice.” But as time went on and I learned more about him, his kindness, his giving nature, my fanship started evolving. Then, over the last year or so he got so handsome!
The evolution of David from a cutie pie with an amazing voice to this handsome man of such wonderful character whose voice just continutes to get better and better … just keeps solidifying my ODD. LOL He is a beautiful soul and a beautiful man with a more than beautiful voice. It is all of that … and more … that keeps me here.
Your last line says it all:

Finally had a chance to listen to the complete album on Billboard, dja you are so right! The songs have a great flow and really compliment each other. It really is a great album. Later tonight I’ll have a chance to listen to the voice through my headphones, can’t wait, my end of the week reward. Instead of movie night, listening to D with popcorn. And wine.
And I looooooove Heart Falls Out, it has quickly become one of my favorites of all of his songs!
