Happy St. Patrick’s Day From David Archuleta!

Sort of. OK, it’s from 2011, but he’s still adorable with his issued computer and awkward, random, green commentary.

Aaaannd, the green shirt in top pic is from his magically delicious concert at the Scout Bar, Beaumont, TX, March 11, 2009. Below is my recap, published originally on The David Chronicles.
Beaumont, Not a Bad Place to Be
I’m back from Beaumont. I have spent the better part of two days sleeping off the effects. First, let me just say that at the two AI concerts I attended, I had to use binoculars. For the Tulsa show, I was actually in the nose bleed section. But Beaumont, Beaumont, Beaumont! It was so intimate, and David was thrilled to have it that way. He feeds off the energy of his fans, and the closer they are, the stronger the connection. Anyway, by some act of God, I found myself front row against the railing and center stage!!!!!!! When Lesley Roy’s set was done, they cleared the stage and placed David’s mic stand right in front of me and so close I could have easily reached out and grasped it in my hand. Then they put his keyboard next to that, and it was so close I could have laid my hand on it. I was thankful to have the railing to hold onto while all this was taking place. Someone taped down his list of songs on the floor next to the mic so close I could read it. YEDL was scribbled in after the medley! My favorite song on the album!
So cue the intro and here he comes with the biggest grin singing TMH. I was suddenly seized with a terror of reaching out my hand for fear he wouldn’t touch it. Isn’t that pathetic? But I tentatively raised my hand and he grasped it so firmly and squeezed so hard! I reflexively and joyously squeezed his right back.
What else can I say? His voice up close and live was such an intensely beautiful, uplifting, exhilarating experience. I could witness on his face every nuance of emotion he put into each song and it was utterly glorious to behold. How can anyone be that breathtakingly gorgeous? Up close, the Phenom is almost TMTH. He was sweating so much that at one point when he was at the keyboard, back lit by the stage lights, the sweat was pouring off him in an unremitting shower of glittering rain. When it was over, I tried to walk away and stumbled into a man in the crowd. I apologized and tried to walk again, but staggered and had to stop a minute and then take baby steps to get my equilibrium back. Never has a performance…a performer, affected me in such a powerful way. He is like a drug. He is a magical, euphoria inducing, intensely mood-enhancing, high. Like I said at the start, I have spent two days sleeping it off. What remains is a case of ODD that has escalated to epic proportions.
That’s not a bad place to be.

And I always loved that medley. ♥

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Angelica,
His vlogs are what I truly miss! Seeing his smiley face, emoting, talking to us, just being him. I think what I need is a dose, no, four doses of that each day to get through the next year. He is a natural high!
Reading concert recaps from the early days is a trip! His voice was beautiful back then but it’s evident that his voice has gotten much richer with time. And let’s not forget that these are still the early days in his career! Your recap was such an enjoyable read!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!! Sitting here with a big Grin on my face after watching that Vlog 🙂 Being almost 100 % Irish, I always was tickled when David made such an effort to wear green, especially knowing this was not his culture. Love the concert recap and Medley Angelica !!! Top ‘o the Mornin to you!! Gotta go find some green to wear 🙂

I enjoy these recaps so much. It matters not when they happened. The thrill will never die! The connection made will last forevermore 🙂
“But I tentatively raised my hand and he grasped it so firmly and squeezed so hard! I reflexively and joyously squeezed his right back.”
Loved sleepy, morning voiced David in his blog and the medley is wonderful. I hope he does another medley in the future. It’s a great, compact way to give fans a sample of the songs they have requested.
I am bringing over a picture from the last thread, but without the text.

Happy Irish Day to you all!! My mother was a Kelly and the Irish relatives were always the most fun for me when I was growing up. There were many stories told at Kelly family reunions without the constraints of any truthfulness. I never knew what was fact or fiction, but they were immensely entertaining. I remember how surprised and delighted I was when David wished us a “Happy St. Patrick’s Day”.
Like Angelica, I was seated high in the back at my first AI show. Even so, he reached out and grabbed me by the heart and it was the end of my b.d. (Before David) life. I have been able to be very close to David at many subsequent concerts and it is truly a life altering experience. I give kudos to all who try to describe it, for I cannot.
Friday as I drove to work David was on my stereo saying, “This song is called The First Noel” and I found myself unable to let go of that song as he finished. Each time I was pushing replay as the song ended. My head was telling me how silly I was to be entranced by a Christmas song in March. How silly that I was once again sitting in a parking lot unable to turn off my car. Somehow sitting in a car with David can remove any unpleasantness in your life and just take you to a place so wonderful you want to stay forever.

As far as I know, I have no Irish blood. If any, it would be a wee bit! I am mostly English and Dutch, but my husband had Irish in him so my kids have some too.
Dayzee, I hear you, loud and clear! I also catch myself playing a song over and over. And, I can’t turn him off til he has finished the song, either in the car or at home. 🙂
Happy St. Patricks Day everyone! I said it on chat last night, but in case any one missed it!! 🙂 Was fun again last night. So much fun to watch David in concert with all the fans! ♥

Aaaaah Beaumont, he was a hot tamale that night, on fire! **sigh** I love recapping the recaps – maybe it will make the next 12 months move a little faster. (We are within spitting distance of the 1 yr countdown, yeeeehaw!)
Dayzee, I have been stuck on The First Noel too – the album version – for a week now. And PatAPan…♫Willy bring your little drum, Robin get your fife and come♫……I take detours, the long way, the scenic route, whatever it takes… having to force myself to turn the key and get out of my car. I want to stay in that place, that place you described.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all ! From what I read, he was a missionary. How appropriate. 🙂
From wikipedia:
“In 432, he again said that he was called back to Ireland, though as a bishop, to Christianise the Irish from their native polytheism. Irish folklore tells that one of his teaching methods included using the shamrock to explain the Christian doctrine of the Trinity to the Irish people.”

I don’t like my leprechaun name, Stumpy McSmelly, so I tired my maiden name and got Stumpy McMuffin. That’s just as bad. Oh well.
Yes Angelica, he is like a drug and I’m addicted. Please don’t try to cure me. I like myself just the way I am.
I wish I had traveled those four hours to the east of me and attended the Beaumont show with all the awesome friends I now have. I was shy and didn’t know any of them at that point in time. I attended the show the next day in San Antonio with my then 16 yr old daughter. It was awesome, but kind of tame compared to what I’ve heard about Beaumont.

I’ll try Abrra. I seem to be occupied helping my husband get his photos edited for publication on many nights these days.
I’m happy that I can finally post on here. Had to go through a lot of hoops and create another account, again.

Angelica, what a nice walk down memory lane, I never tire of it 🙂
Missed chat “again” lol With a large family there is always something being celebrated and unexpected accidents. Was at nephew bday and 12 year grandson hit head, 10 stitches later he’s fine, but he sure gave us a scare.
Making corned beef, potatoes and cabbage for the first time! So we’ll see what the reaction is lol

I’m not Irish but I love all things Irish like shamrocks, the color green, Leprechauns, Irish names, Irish blessings, Irish accents and Irish food. My corned beef came out excellent today! Heck I just may be a little bit Irish!

Green David at the top looks mighty fine! He should wear green every day.
Love the recap, Angelica. I once had the same privilege of watching David sing up close and it was breathtaking. I was standing so close I could have touched his shoes or grabbed his legs. And there was no barrier to stop me, only my own inhibition and the little bit of sanity I clung to as he slayed me with his gorgeous voice.
Btw my leprechaun name is Greenie O’Rainbow and my fav singer is Bunyon O’Blaze. Can you imagine screaming “Bunyon, Bunyon, Bunyon, I love you Bunyon O’Blaze” at his comeback concert next year?
