The Ultimate Setlist ~ David Archuleta

It is not an easy feat for a young artist to come up with a sophomore album. Yet David has produced a total of seven albums in five years. To quote Simon Cowell, “When you’ve got it, you’ve got it.” Back from his mission with a plethora of songs in his repertoire, he will have a leviathan task on his hands making up his setlist for when he starts touring again.
So let’s help him out. I’ve compiled a list of songs from his albums, plus songs and covers he has done at concerts and appearances. Some songs he hasn’t even sung yet but we can dream, can’t we?
Here is your assignment, should you wish to accept it:
Use the ballot below to select 25 songs you would like to hear David sing on his next tour. You can make suggestions for other songs, too. We will tally the ballots and come up with the 25 songs that make it to the Ultimate Setlist for the Homecoming Tour! You never know who may wander over here to read our list and take note of our choices. 😉

Me too. I have a few favorites I’d love him to sing. YEDL is one. 🙂 I never got the chance to see him sing it live.
I chose only original David songs. He has so many great ones that I want to hear. Although I have to admit I might like to see/hear him sing that Keith Urban country song, Somebody Like You. 😉

Fun poll!…but, yes, so hard to choose! What an awesome reminder of all the great music David has given us in such a short time. What lucky fans we are. He has grown and matured in so many ways over the past 5 years, but I am still blown away with the inherent musical ability he had even back in the early days of AI. I was also listening to his first album the other day and was reminded of his incredible ability to communicate emotion even back then on a rushed album with songs written by other people. Truly a musical genius!

By the way, I apologize for the misspelling on the Adele song. It should be “Someone Like You” instead of “Somebody Like You”. Thanks for the quick fix, Angelica. 🙂

What I would choose is a setlist that would probably exhaust David. First a couple of songs from the Crush album, then some songs from TOSOD, 4 or 5 from Forevermore, 4 or 5 in Spanish. Finally I want to hear him sing Unchained Melody and Smoke Gets In Your Eyes.

WOW! Bebe you did a great job. I picked heavily from the more recent CD releases, a few Spanish and some that he has never released on CD (that I know of) such as Nature Boy, Man in the Mirror, and When You Say You Love Me. I also picked some spiritual songs. Angels in the Alleyway. I have always likes The Most Beautiful Part Is and would love hearing post-mission David, with his deeper manly acoustic voice, sing with Steve Feteke (sp) on guitar.

I want to hear him sing live ..like every song lol to narrow it down to 25 will take some times to decide haha, 25 set list for home comming concert !!! haha I think D will be exhausted as well as us!! we’d be scream out head off for him from start to the end of the concert, we should have 3 intermissions where D’d come down and chat and eat+drink with us before continue the concert !! This is an amazing list of songs! Wow! It was difficult to choose only 25. It will be a daunting task to make a setlist for his homecoming concert. Can he do a 2-hr concert please? I know it’s too much to ask, but … Aaarggghhh!!! They’re all so awesome! I want to hear all the new ones and there are old ones which are so powerful that I want to hear them again live. At the top of my list is Broken, followed by must-haves You Are My Song, Tell Me, Forevermore, Contigo En La Distancia, When You Say You Love Me, The Prayer, and Pride which I feel will be a great concert ender. The rest of my choices are: WYA, Someone Like You, Senseless, NEBTD, Look Around, Heart Falls Out, DRA, DSH, DGU, BOTW, E&M, EWTRTW, EH, Falling, Beautiful, Heaven and Be Still My Soul.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh Bebe! I love this post! There’s something about fun polls that I love. Like – a test that nobody grades lol.
I chose mostly songs from Begin.
A few others.
Good Place, obviously. I’ve always loved it and can now say it’s my favorite all time song by him. I was lucky to hear him sing it in Verona, mistakes and all. It was more real to me that way than anything could’ve been.
Abs, I’ve always loved The Most Beautiful Part is. Add that to the dream list.
And hey, while we’re at it, lets just imagine up a 3 day concert where he can split up the list and sing most of them. 🙂
By the time we got to Woodstock, we were half a million strong
and everywhere was a song and a celebration.

Interesting set list poll Bebe. The oldies are coming on strong. They are better than most people’s songs that make them millions. Oh the memories of ZG and Barriers (favourites of the band. They actually chose. Barriers as their favourite a few years ago).

I finally got my 25 songs in in, only to see I was just halfway down the list lol ! I know he will make his comeback really special no matter what he sings, but I would give anything, o hear him sing Adele’s hit song.Just that snippet he sang, while playing the piano….skjhfshkhfhkhf!! If he does that one, I am not respondsible for my actions.(or reaction’s)

Sky, I had the same problem as you! I wasn’t done when I got to 25! I know I want to hear him sing “Someone Like You”! I would like to hear him sing “Seven Spanish Angels” by Willie Nelson and “Spanish Eyes”, “Unchained Melody” and “Hawaiian Wedding Song” by Elvis, just to name a few! 🙂

I know that I listen to BEGIN daily, such as every night. He adds to my relaxation when stressed. He sings directly to you, you get to hear a pure voice. Each song on the album has its message that can get you by. It is not the love songs I appreciate, but the songs that are a part of his life, his views, ideals, realizations and his encouragement. He knew everyone would be facing real life everyday and it is far from a perfect world. That is his greatest gift.

What’s hard about this??? I just picked 18 … or was it 19 for Day 1. Now I can pick 25 more for Day 2 … right? Then there’s 25 for Day 3. Got to let him sleep in between concerts. Okay that might be a bit hard on David and the band. I see some other people are in on that 3 day concert idea. 😀 Anyway “some” of my others: Celebrate Me Home (Kenny Loggins–since we want to celebrate David home); Maybe I’m Amazed; Imagine (whole song–wish he’d record it); Billy Jean (ever since we heard he did it in a warm-up … who doesn’t want to hear it???); Shop Around (the song that first “hooked” me); Spanish song; Spanish song may or may not be written by David and may or may not be in both Spanish and English; new orignal song written by David we haven’t heard of yet; new song written by David we haven’t heard of yet; …….. okay, pretty sure I’m over 25 now. This is fun but impossible to narrow down. In the poll I tried to pick my favorites from each of his cds (except Christmas, since this is a pop/adult contemporary concert) and songs that have not been performed yet.

Wow, Bebe, that was fun but hard!!!!!! I was only half way down the list and had already picked 25 so had to start again! I have always wanted him to sing When you say you love me again. Missed the AI tour so haven’t seen it live. I love the way he sings that song! But I must say, I agree with Ray too, know I will be happy no matter what he sings …as long as we can just hear his gorgeous voice and see his gorgeous self “live” again! 🙂

I’ve been listening to Forevermore every night, too, since I discovered it about two weeks into my David Era! That would have been somewhere around the beginning of January, and I know I’ve upped the YouTube count for it by about 1000 by now! Then, I added Rainbow remix. I don’t just listen–I watch! So I see Wholesome David and Flirty David almost every night. Sorta great, huh? Every morning, I listen to whatever is playing in my head at the moment. I actually am starting to know what lines go with what songs!

It’s amazing how many fans still want David to sing “When You Say You Love Me”. It’s still talked about on blogs, comments on youtube and right here on Saturday nights in The Voice Unplugged. That song must have had a strong impact on fans! I didn’t go to the AI Tour either and am really aching to hear David sing it one day, but I doubt he ever will.

I went wedding dress shopping today with my two daughters. Our youngest is the last one to get married. It only took three hours and a dress was chosen which was truly amazing that we didn’t have to travel further to Montreal!
With the last dress came “Somewhere Only We Know” all through the store of beautiful brides. Well it wasn’t David, but it made me think it was. The bell was rung like at the New York stock exchange and everyone clapped when she finalky said ‘this is the dress’. Quite the ritual.
A long day but very memorable…

I love just going thru that list of David songs. Like a trip down memory lane as I remember the times I have listened to David sing them. I had not realized there were so many. And then I noticed there were no Christmas songs included. So I guess you are hoping there will be a performance (or fifty) before Christmas 2015.
SB, isn’t it funny how we get excited just hearing a song somehow related to David, even tho it is not David currently singing it? Hearing that song while bridal dress shopping with your daughters sounds like an awesome day to me.

Use a different browser such as Chrome.
If you are using Firefox or IE,
Disable anti virus ( re enable after you vote).
Disable all add ons ( you can turn them back on after you vote) and restart your browser.
Clear cookies and set your firewall to the lowest setting ( turn it back up after voting).
Polls can be seen as a threat ( but they are not, as we know) by some anti virus programs. They are set to be ultra sensitive in some cases and it’s annoying. 😉
