This Sugar Crush Ain’t Going Away ~ David Archuleta ~ Vote!

iPhone, therefore iAm. Think about it.* My iPhone has become such an integral part of my existence that the very thought of losing it sends me into a panic. Take the other day at work. I’m just sitting there, happily gabbing with my friend Sherry, when suddenly I realize my phone is not on my desk or in my pocket! Having just concluded a meeting with my boss, I rush down the 50 foot corridor to his office, burst inside and anxiously demand if he’s seen my phone. “It’s in your hand.” “It’s not on my desk or in my pocket and….what?” “It’s in your hand.” Removing the phone from my ear, I stare at it in shock and awe, as though a live grenade has suddenly appeared in my hand, and a second later, it explodes with shrieks of laughter. “I gotta go, Sherry.” Now it’s my boss’s turn. He collapses into his chair and slaps the desk, laughing like a baby tickled into hilarity or the way porky pig laughs at daffy duck. I waddle back down the hall to my office with him holding onto the door for support and gasping after me, “Thank you. Thank you very, very much!” Dethpicable.
Well, let them laugh. I can’t help it. I love my phone. I get my mail, access social media, the internet, listen to music 🙂 watch movies, read books, jot down notes, record where I parked my car, take pictures and videos, check the weather, look up addresses, get restaurant and movie reviews, read the news or the scriptures, and text my friends. Sometimes I even use it to make calls.
And there are games. Addictive games. Be guided by me. Do not download Candy Crush Saga. I made it through 28 levels, loving the rush of the sugar crush more and more with each level completed. To fail over and over and then to see those words quietly appear on the screen___Sugar Crush. Then to watch all the red, green, yellow, orange and purple candy explode and fall downward in a torrent of sugar crystals. What a rush! What a rush! And I ALWAYS have to yell the words out loud whenever it happens. “Sugar Crush!!!” Like Honey Boo Boo Child, it makes me holla. Finally one day I arrived at level 29 and spent the next three weeks trying to achieve sugar crush. I accepted these repeated failures with my usual maturity and grace. 
At last I succeeded and two days later, sugar crushed on levels 30, 31, 32 and 33 in just two hours! Not being a smoker, I savored the occasion instead with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream. And this. What better way to celebrate a sugar crush than with a sugar rush? Feel free to copy and share. Divine! That’s another thing about this game that is so enticing. With even the slightest competent move, a man’s deep voice encourages you with, “Divine!” “Sweet!” “Tasty!” “Delicious!” Abrra has lost her mind playing the game. She has given up all semblance of struggle and now self-indulgently plays level 7 over and over and over, just for the cheap thrill of a quick and easy sugar crush. Sad.
Here, in a series of texts sent to me by my concert buddy and monthly Archulunch partner Biz, is documented proof of the addictive properties of the game. There are a million stories in the Candy Crush Saga. This, is just one of them.
I know David wanted us to develop ourselves while he’s away working on the person he can’t wait to bring back to us. I had such big plans for these 2 years. I meant to go outside, honest. The only exercise I did for the DA2014 Fitness Club on twitter was to push the follow tab. I was going to learn Spanish. I downloaded several Spanish language apps but that’s as far as I got.
Now a whole year has passed and what have I achieved? Level 45 so far. I hope to achieve level 65 before he returns, which by all reports is virtually impossible. Then I’ll work on scoring level G, rows 1-10 for that other crush I’m so obsessed with.

And just what is wrong with playing my favorite level 7 over and over for a month? I am a winner!!!
I am up really because I decided to update the Candy Crush app after seeing that they have added 30 new levels and some new “special” candies. The update only went 2/3 of the way then stopped. This made my game inaccessable. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!
I discovered that iTunes ver 11 is bugged and will not update apps normally. I searched the net and got the solution! In the iTunes program go to the top left and click File>Device>Transfer purchases. This will update all your apps that need it.
Ya me! Now its time to hop into bed and play a few dozen rounds of my favorite obsession. MMMMMMMMMUUHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!

I am coming out of lurkdom because I am completely addicted to this game and can so relate.. I have been since before Christmas and, now, most of my entire family is addicted as well. That helps because we can give each other lives – to lose, over and over again. I, too , was stuck on level 29 for about 4 days and now am stuck on 34. However, that is on my phone. I started the game on my computer and, after many trials and tribulations, have gotten to level 163. Alas, I have been stuck on this level for almost 3 weeks and it doesn’t look good for passing it – hence, the reason I started it up on my phone. Thanks for talking about this. It helps to know my family isn’t the only one with addiction tendencies. LOL

HINT: You can ‘gain” lives by changing the time forward on your phone. When your lives run out, the game it controlled by the clock as to when it regenerates new lives. You can always set it back to “normal” if you use it for an alarm.
I play the same level over and over because I win about 90% of the time and therefore I don’t lose lives. Its perpetual play for me. I have a nice full screen and many moves. See the screen shot in #2.

You’re funny! It reminds me during childhood of my Mom screaming at us kids and blaming us for taking her slipper which by the way she was holding in her hand at the time.
What has technology done to us?! LOL! Since I do a lot of my stuff (internet surfing, listening to music, shopping, banking, FBing, tweeting, voting for Archie, emailing, texting, gaming, etc.) on my iphone, I feel naked without it. It’s basically a one-stop shop! Once I discovered iphone, my life was never the same again. Not sure though if it’s for the better or worse.
With all these talks about addiction to Candy Crush, I’m afraid to even try it. Why start another addiction? LOL! I think I’ll just stick to being addicted to David’s music for now… 🙂

Angelica~you never fail to make me laugh! Abrra, you too are guilty! I have never played any game but Tetris. I got severly addicted and it lasted for over 2 years. Of course, you know this was pre ODD. Once David entered my life, I dropped Tetris like a hot potato! I’m not sure if I am capable of just trying Candy Crush. I will let you know!

This is hilarious because I just got home from vacation and had about 20 Candy Crush requests to ignore on FB. (sorry lol) I refuse, I just know I’ll get addicted. I went through that with Mah Jong. I won’t go into that addiction. It was bad. 🙂
But yaaaaay for snippets! I just listened to HFO, and it’s really different! He sounds so good. I like it. Going back in. I can never resist a snippet. I always think I can, but nah. It’s never happened. I last about 2 minutes. No self control at all.

Hearts Fall Out – it’s different….I love the beat and the layers of David’s voice. Have to hear the whole song already. I have no patience to wait when it comes to David’s music. That little snippet was a big tease!

I think David is extremely empathetic, and can really see and feel the world from a variety of points of view. I think he truly feels others pain and that is one reason he is so actively involved in helping others. Perhaps helping, eases the pain that gets transplanted into his own heart. Pure speculation. Makes me love him even more. Yes, it should make him an amazing actor.

I heard the judges on AI tell the singers they needed to make a connection with their audience. I thought be careful of becoming connected to an artist for it can turn your world upside down.
Luckily the artist I became connected to is very giving and only affects my world in a good way. David is a master at that connecting thing.

Was playing some Candy Crush last night on my pc. My old 3G Iphone won’t let me download the lastest version. But am due for a phone upgrade at the end of this month. Woot Woot! The end of March has lots of goodies!

I heard NEBTD long ago, but I woke up with it in my head and love it more than I ever did.
My vacation is over, but in my mind I’m still on that island. This song extended it, I think. 🙂

And I do the same thing. I go through phases with different songs. A few months ago, I was obsessed with listening to Running & Barriers and I’ve heard them tons of times. I think it depends on my mood, and of course sometimes it’s what’s new. I tend to listen to the same song on repeat most days.
(haha Just a bit of OCD, or ODD, in there somewhere? Maybe?)

Well I did warn you. I finally made it past level 45 and 46 and am now tackling 47. Anyone try my Cheesecake Sopapilla recipe? It was given to me only a couple of weeks ago and I’ve already made it twice. My husband says it’s now his favorite dessert. Easy and so good! And of course absolutely no fat grams or calories.
