Silverfox, thank you for this beautiful prayer. You’ve said all that needs to be said. Thank you and all the admins for this special place where we can all come and communicate our thoughts and feeling with each other. It will be such a help to get through this period of time together.
To David,
May his loving spirit be with you always to guide you in all you do for the next to years and after. We will be here waiting with open arms and loving hearts.
When David first travelled to far away places, Silverfox composed a travel prayer and we slept better knowing that the prayer had gone out for him. You see sometimes David had a way of jogging too far in a foreign country he was in, or driving by himself and not knowing where he was then tweeting to us about it.
We will keep you in our hearts David until you are once again back home.
Oh man, Silverfox, you have created a masterpiece with the prayer and the words to David. They are beautiful. Thank you. I hope they can be posted regularly to help ease our hearts thru the next 2 years.
“There are no words which can adequately thank you for all you have done for us and for how much you mean to us.” No truer words have been spoken. I think we all feel like everything or anything we have done or said just can’t convey all the pure love that we have in our hearts for him. At least it’s that way for me. ♥♥
I’ve had a few emotional moments today, as I know most of us have. I heard a comment tonight while at a mortuary (I’m not relating David’s leaving to death at all). My friend’s father passed away, and her husband told me that she is like Alice in Wonderland–one minute a happy pill, the next a crying pill. That’s been me today. I’m so hopeful that we will get a short ‘catch you guys later’ video from David tonight. That probably seems selfish, but I just think one more visual/audio might help. Maybe, maybe not. **sigh**
It’s almost time for the candle to be lit for real, and for kitty to find her perch. I love this place. {{hugs to all}}
Here’s something that was just on my FB… hope it happens really soon. 🙂

@AndreaFOD @DavidArchie @kariontour – don’t worry, we’re working on the english translated dvd already.
Silverfox, thank you so much for your prayer which says all I want to say for David. I have been on the verge of tears since David’s announcement, happy for him and convinced it is a glorious thing for him, but so heartbroken for me. I am old as the hills and two years can bring lots of things unanticipated–something I don’t dwell on, but think about more as I get a little older.
Your prayer has just unlocked the floodgates.
It is so beautiful and I have loved it each time you have posted your prayer for David on the website for us fans. Each time it has been at an important point in his career and as I think back over each posted prayer it is like a review of our journey by his side. Now you have posted this prayer, so beautiful, so meaningful, at this special time in his life which means so much to him and is such a huge step for him. It is a time when we all need the assurance that he will be under God’s protection, that his hopes for this mission will be fulfilled and that he will return to music. Again as it has so many times before, your beautiful prayer marks this milestone, this milestone, THIS MILESTONE like no other.
Sentinel Cat is getting a good night’s sleep preparing for the biggest duty yet! She has sent in her favorite foods and snacks and nearly everything is in place…and yes she has a pay increase for this line of duty…some minds have been lost along the way.
Thank you Silverfox for your beautiful prayer. You’ve said what I believe all who come here feel for our beautiful boy. I am so thankful for theVoice, for all the admins and for everyone who posts here. I am going to continue to come here for comfort and to give comfort.
Thank you Silverfox I read your prayer and message to David earlier and was brought to tears and had to leave for awhile. I’ve always appreciated your prayers over the years and they always helped when David traveled. Now we have quite a BIG TRIP with lots of miles and lots of days to pray for. I hear David will get a blessing tonight from someone in the church too, which is custom I’m told.
David has been such a busy young man and I admire him so. I hope he can rest somewhere along the way. I’m hoping he can squeeze a few minutes in for a Vlog and that we’ll get some info from him or his Official site re:twitter etc. I know Kari will be with us during the two years and beyond which she confirmed when I asked and I was glad to hear that. I know she’ll be in charge of mail, and any business issues.
Wishing you blessings and Oh yes Overtime for the CAT!!!
This song is considered the ‘anthem’ of the MTC. It’s an amazing sound to be in the room with the missionaries singing this. They know with all their soul that they have been called to serve the Lord. Wouldn’t it be awesome to hear David sing this?
I love your prayer, Silverfox. You are in tune with the Spirit when you write such loving and sincere words. You know his fans well and what we are all feeling at this time. I don’t think that it could have been expressed more eloquently than by you. When we read your words we can feel the respect you have for David. I will copy and read this prayer often just like I have the first prayer you wrote a few years back. Thank you for expressing our thoughts on paper. You are loved by many!
Silverfox – I’ve been thinking about you the past several days as I haven’t seen you post in a while. I’ve missed your heartfelt comments and beautiful prayer. Thank you so much for posting this mission prayer today. It is so comforting. It touched my aching heart and gave me peace on this difficult day.
Silverfox, you’ve expressed everything in your prayer so beautifully. The words in your note are in our hearts, too. THANK YOU!!
I hope this link works……it was such a blessing to be in the Conference Center and hear the choir sing “God Be With You Till We Meet Again” to David & Michael York. Can’t help wondering if, during that moment, David was thinking about going on a mission some day…..just watch his eyes! When he made his mission announcement, I was sitting about 10 feet from him. Immediately I felt such joy for him and was dealing pretty well, until this past Friday (dang it…..I even cried when Margaret hugged Teresa in NA). I visit here several times a day and sense that we’ve all been shedding many tears. Another hymn I’ve sung for yrs has been “Bless Be the Tie That Binds”….thinking about it these past few days, it’s never meant more to me than right now….I feel that this remarkable child of God, who is about to embark on a part of his life’s journey, that he’s no doubt wanted since he was a small child, has united us all in such an unexplainable love for one another. We will get thru these 2 years together and may the good Lord keep David safe until we all do meet again.
Silverfox, that is such a beautiful prayer. I will miss David so much, but know he would not feel like a whole person if he did not follow his heart and go on his mission. He will feel us all praying for him.
Silverfox…just perfect. The title alone says everything in my heart. The picture…perfect as well. There’s something about it that takes my breath away tonight. Every word echoes what I feel inside.
It’s hard to put into words such tender emotions…about someone I’ve never even met…and yet, someone whose humble character and beautiful voice have continuously reminded me over the past 4 years of God’s love, that kindness is not dead, that there is much joy in the simple things, that life is an adventure worth living with all its ups and downs, and that following your heart brings true happiness.
I hope you don’t mind if I share something a little personal that’s on my mind tonight. I remember a night 2 and a half years ago, packing and unpacking my son’s suitcase, as he slept in the hotel bed across the room. We had prepared for months for this, and spoke about it for years, but the tightness in my chest at the thought of not seeing him for 2 years was overwhelming and I could not sleep. I sat down and wrote him a note telling him how much I loved him, how proud I was of him, and how I believed in him…and how I knew that God loved him and would watch over him until we would see each other again. I tucked it in his suitcase for him to hopefully find in the MTC the following day…hoping it might help him through those first few uncertain hours in a new place. I never heard anything more about that little note…until the night he got off the plane 2 years later. He pulled that worn little note out of his scriptures, and said with tears in his eyes, “I carried it with me every day, Mom.”
it hurts my heart, but I’ll be here tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow, but now I’m sad.
Recently I finished speaking with the girls, here in Argentina is 2:49 a.m. and I’m alone at the computer, emma sleeps at my side.
I have a pain throughout the body and I am very sad.
Now I realize my immense love for David.
I love you david and will pray for you every day.
thanks for changing my life.
Thank you for the beautiful, (inspired) prayer to send David off on his mission. It is so comforting to feel the love within it and know we are all one in these sentiments. You have expressed exactly what is in our hearts.
We will always be here for you David. Never underestimate our love and your influence for good in this world. You are truly a gift from above. Thank you for working so hard right up to the time you leave to convey as much music as you possibly can to your fans. As always, you exceed our expectations. God bless you for everything you have done for us, every kind thought or word, every song, every smile. We’ll write to you!
Thank you. I have been trying not to cry – but reading your beautiful prayer opened the floodgates –
Be safe dear David!
My daily weather forecast for you: There shall be showers of blessings all over you every morning;
a downpour of love all around you by mid-afternoon and occasional flashes of laughter and joy by early evening; and continuous sweet dreams by midnight.
Take care, God bless!
We have never met even though I see him everyday. We have never spoken even though I hear him speak and listen to him sing everyday. We don’t know each other even though I know a lot about him. I don’t really understand why he pulls at my heartstrings. But he does.
I have never said this nor written this anywhere. But I am ready to do it now:
I LOVE YOU DAVID ARCHULETA.
Godspeed, David. Go with my heart. Be sure to come back with it in 2 years. I’ll need it back in good shape so I can keep it beating for you as you conquer the world with your voice! I’ll be here waiting for #DA2014.
Wondering if anyone else has butterflies in their stomachs today?
I know I do. Feel like I’m on the elevator ride with David…
only his feet are [firmly] back on the ground!
*raises hand* Feeling the butterflies too, Bluebar. I’m trying to remind myself that “it’s the butterflies that keep you feeling so alive!”
Needing a little “Pooh” this morning:
“If ever there is a tomorrow when we’re not together… there is something you must always remember. you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we’re apart… I’ll always be with you.”
― A.A. Milne
We’re always with you, David. Be safe. Be strong. Let your spirit sparkle! “God be with you till we meet again.”
SF – thank you for the beautiful prayer! You are always in my thoughts. I can’t say it enough – I am so thankful to have all of you in my life, and together we will wait for #DA2014.
Happy birthday Djafan!! I appreciate all you do to keep David’s name out there. It is always nice to see you around the Internet promoting David Archuleta.
Hoping you’ll have a wonderful day with friends and family.
God Bless You always.
#15 Tawna21 Thanks for the song from the Missionaries. Impressive. I’m always amazed at the amount of young men that go on these missions.
#23 TxNancy Thanks for the Til We Meet Again tribute from Motab. Wonderful memories. I also like to think of that being over a year ago and how fast that time has gone.
#25 Kaycee That is a beautiful story of the note you put in your son’s suitcase and how meaningful and helpful it was for him. Ah! the memory of him showing it to you when he came home brought tears to my eyes. How special. Thanks for sharing that with us today.
“We have never met even though I see him everyday. We have never spoken even though I hear him speak and listen to him sing everyday. We don’t know each other even though I know a lot about him. I don’t really understand why he pulls at my heartstrings. But he does.

Beautiful prayer, Silverfox. Thank you. I would like to request that it is archived in a place where it can be easily accessed? I read it aloud and found it so calming.
To everyone, big hugs and thanks for your posts. It helps to share as a community now and I appreciate that everyone is dong so. I’m not crying today but I know I’ll have my times, too. Tears are healing.
In a couple of weeks when the bracelets have arrived and with a little help from Angelica, I will have a short article with a pic of the new bracelets and I hope to publish David’s prayer once again…
I have chosen some really nice fonts and colors…

“He pulled that worn little note out of his scriptures, and said with tears in his eyes, “I carried it with me every day, Mom.” ”
….I bet he was not the only one crying, after that?♥
Except for the butterflies in the tummy, I find myself in a brain-numb state today. One of those, I need to do something like pull weeds, paint, wash the car something physical that doesn’t require using my brain.not a day to balance my checkbook or do my taxes if you know what I mean
mucho thanks to Abrra♥ for inviting us all to chat last night. Being together live and in the moment to share our thoughts is awesome therapy while watching David sing and perform.thanks Abs,for all you do
,,,ok,think I will go work in the garden and maybe pick up something special to plant today.:))
Sky, I love the thought of planting something special, when our ground thaws…The immense impact he has on our spirits and souls is overwhelming in itself.
OK, I was holding it together pretty well until I came here today. I’m listening to an hour of only David on wise Radio and reading this prayer and then the comments and my tears have now started.
Silverfox, Your powerful gift of intercession is truly a blessing. Thank you for sharing it with all of us.
#25 Kaycee- Your story of your son is what has finally sent me over the edge. I immediately thought of the upcoming day in Sept when my son will be shipping out for Navy boot camp and now the tears won’t stop. Thank you for sharing this with us and giving me a thought for my own personal “surprise” for my son.
Your prayer is just what we need today. Your wisdom, your way with words, and your insight are so valuable to this fanbase.
Djafan,
Happy Belated Birthday! (dja’s birthday was actually
yesterday 3/27.) Thank you for all you do for David and for the fans. And thank you for being such a good friend.♥
A good time was had by all in chat last night. We plan to use The Voice Unplugged more often and will announce on here when we do. It really helped last night to talk about what was on our minds. Nobody understands us better than we do ourselves.
SF — A most beautiful prayer — I know I’ll return to it many times over the next two years.
SB — Love your choice of words for the bracelet — just perfect!
So many emotions today — I have four children and my two boys have the same birthday (9 years apart), today, March 28th. My firstborn son passed away two and a half years ago (pancreatic cancer) so my tears are flowing as I remember him in my heart. My thoughts and prayers are with my granddaughter who is undergoing surgery at this moment (gall bladder). And, of course, our David is leaving on his mission — how can I say how much he and his music have helped me get through the last few years (the passing of my husband as well as my son). I am ever so thankful to God that He gave us David. Vaya con Dios, indeed, David — continue to spread your love and your voice wherever you go.
Amen to your prayer! Silverfox, you have a gift of putting words to what you want to say to God. Sometimes when I pray, I cannot put actual words to what my heart tries to say. But I know God knows my groans and answer those prayers. This site is full of people with good heart who loves David very much.
Sky, love the idea of planting something special and watching it grow and flourish with a smile on my face thinking about how David is doing the same. Great Idea!!
SB, Looking forward to the new bracelets. Love the saying, it’s perfect!
Djafan, so it’s your birthday today. Happy Birthday! I bet this is one you will remember since you’re sharing it with another momentous occasion.
Bebe, had fun in chat last night. Will have to get there more often and a bit earlier.
So our countdown begins. {{{{HUGS}}}} to everyone!
Silverfox-Thanks for the beautiful prayer which says so well what we are all thinking.
Steno-Many hugs sent your way today in particular.
DJA-Happy Birthday!!
Bebe-I stared for the longest time at the cake you posted for DJA because yesterday I baked a chocolate cake for my son and put those same candles on it. I kept thinking, “What’s my cake doing in the comments?” I think I better take Sky’s example and go wash our donkey or something. Obviously, not all the cylinders are firing in my brain today.
Sky-Bless you for the suggestion of planting something today. That is exactly what I am going to do!
I find I am relieved that today is finally here–sort of like getting something you have been dreading over and done with.
Best wishes to you all today and always!
xaris who still doesn’t have her little blue vest back…
@WISE_RADIO did an hour long feature on David this morning in honor of his leaving for his mission. They played 16 songs back to back starting with Love Don’t Hate and ending with Imagine! It was amazing and I cried all the way through it listening to David’s beautiful voice!! They will do the same feature tonight at 10 pm ET. Listen online: http://www.llive365.com/stations/shynner
You have no idea how much your prayer soothes my heart and soul. Your sincerity and love for David jump out with every word. Thank you for sharing your prayer with us for this young man, David Archuleta, who has stolen our hearts ♥
I will put a link on the sidebar for easy access to the prayer when the thread changes. I know I’ll be reciting it daily for 730 days.
Sandybeaches,
I’ve been seeing those think of me words all over David fan land. The bracelet will be loved.
Steno, (((((hugs))))
Gladys,
Tenemos que apoyarnos una a la otra durante su ausencia. We need to lean on one another during his absence.
Kaycee,
Thank you for sharing with us 🙂
Fenfan, welcome to the “I love you David club” I followed David since his audition on AI and never said I love you until about a year later at my first David concert during his solo tour. It was a mosh pit general admission. I was in the 5th deep from the stage standing like sardines feeling the electric frenzy in the air. When David bolted out I heard a grown woman’s voice yelling “I love you David” at the top of her lungs with everyone else. I freaked when I realized it was me! hahaha I haven’t stopped since 🙂
Thank you for the bday wishes. I had chocolate cake 🙂
Thanks for the thoughtful prayer. It’s a keeper here at The Voice for sure.
New blog! We have added his blog to the article at the top of the page.
It’s not Goodbye

Just one more vlog from home for a while before I leave on my mission. It has been an emotional week with family and friends. Just wanted to thank all of you for the support you have giving me for the last 4 years. Will see you all in 2 years.
SB – love the saying for the bracelets – can’t wait.

Being together last night in chat was great – sorry I dropped out so suddenly. My computer must have wanted to get some rest b/c it gave me a problem so I had to shut down:(.
sky – what a great idea to plant something!
I agree with others who have said they are glad this day has arrived – at least we can begin the countdown now.
I could not help from crying watching his video blog !David is so caring and giving and i will miss him so very much and god be with him and watch over him ! Bring him back safe to us !! Love you David Archuleta !!!!
I apologize for the question, but David said he would come to South America? I listen well?
The tears that blurred my vision and my sadness, I think I understood that.
Someone can confirm? Thank you.
SF, The prayer for David is so beautiful. Thank you for sharing with us all.
And thanks to the Admins for Chat last night. It was a great evening sharing with others who are going through the same thing and I really needed that. {{Love you all. ♥}}
Dja … Happy Birthday!! Wishing you happy times full of love and laughter today and every day, all year long!
Awww … David’s vlog. ♥ What more can I say? ♥ Be safe, David, and may you find light and love and joy on your journey. (and music on your P days) Our love and prayers travel with you.
Oh Anna! You got me with Billy Gilman. He is from my area , so I have followed his career for many years. He has a big heart like David and does so much for others. Thanks for posting his song.
David with Billy Gilman backstage at the MDA telethon 2010.
Billy has been with MDA for 11 years, for six years as MDA National Youth Chairman, Billy spearheaded the efforts of thousands of teenagers and young adults who help the Association’s lifesaving mission.
Thank you Silverfox for sharing the prayer for David as he begins his next phase of his lifework’s journey. The words expressed your heartfelt and honest feelings and wishes, that I (like many others) was feeling. It provides comfort & belief for me.
Also hope you shared your letter that followed with David. For me, it reminds me to (try to) be like David. As you said ” There are no words which can adequately thank you for all you have done for us and for how much you mean to us.” It’s become more of a daily ritual – to try to do what (I believe) he would do. That is what I will miss (besides the voice) – the quotes, his humility, his honesty, his kindness, his courage and his inspiration.
Oh my, David’s vlog was a very special farewell to us and he was getting dang close to tears (we were already there). Then, that song by Billy Gilman started mine flowing again. I’ve always been a fan of Billy’s as well. In fact, until David’s Christmas CD, I couldn’t start Christmas without Billy’s.
Update — my granddaughter is home and doing well after her laproscopic surgery this afternoon.
David Archuleta begins 2-year missionary service
By Josh Furlong
SALT LAKE CITY — Three months after announcing he was planning on serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, pop-singer David Archuleta has entered the Missionary Training Center.
Archuleta, who made the announcement before an encore performance on Dec. 19 at Abravanel Hall in Salt Lake City, began his two-year missionary service Wednesday, entering the MTC in Provo.
While the exact details of his mission are unknown, Archuleta released a video on YouTube Wednesday to his fans, informing them he would be serving somewhere in South America. A family friend of the Archuleta family said he will be serving in one of the missions in Chile, but the family intends to keep his mission a private matter.
“It’s a decision everyone knows about, but it’s a very personal thing. I wanted to keep it that way, so I hope you guys respect that,” Archuleta said. “I’ve been able to bring you guys on this journey so far, but I hope that you guys will respect that this will be more of a personal thing; that I’m trying to focus on something else now, not my career, not trying to do music.”
Archuleta thanked his many fans for their support over the years, saying numerous times that he appreciates everything that has been done for him along his singing career.
“I wouldn’t be here without all of you guys, doing what you do,” Archuleta said. “It just meant a lot to have been able to bring you guys — it’s more like you have brought me on this journey — and I appreciate being able to share everything I’ve learned and experience — with you guys — because of you guys.”
Archuleta said it has been an emotional week leading up to the beginning of his missionary experience, but was ready to focus on his religion and his experience with his Heavenly Father.
“I’m going to be trying my best to focus on the people over there and more one-on-one experience,” he said. “It’s going to be a big sacrifice, but I’m doing this to be able to have more of that one-on-one time with my Heavenly Father — with God. I hope that you guys will respect that it’s time for me to work on my relationship with him and the time that I need to give him.”
While Archuleta is serving his mission, he said his road manager will be running his Twitter account, informing his fans of all the recent updates in his life. Archuleta also mentioned new songs that will be released while he is gone.
Archuleta’s parting words to his fans were: “I will see you all in two years. God bless. Take care.”
Taking a short break but unable to watch David’s vlog until later …sigh. Read all the comments & just wanted to thank everyone as what you’ve all shared has been therapeutic & comforting.
Dear Silverfox; Thank you for your beautiful prayer which is so timely & echoes what we all feel. Somehow it gives me peace & encouragement to make it through today & the days to come.
Kaycee; Still wiping away the tears when I think about what you shared. It makes me think about how David has received many notes & sentiments of love & support. I hope that he too will carry those notes in his heart wherever he goes, giving him encouragement through each day until he safely returns.
Dear Djafan! Wishing a beautiful friend a wonderful belated birthday filled with
many blessings ahead! All that you do is special and very much appreciated!
Steno; Hugs to you.
SB; Thank you for all the work you’ve put into your bracelet project … email me on how I can help you with the cost.
Gladys; Excited to hear about your Spanish translation of COS … David will be so proud!
Shawna; Thinking of you today …
Proud to be part of the I Love You David Archuleta fandom!
¡Feliz Cumpleaños! Hope you are able to celebrate on this bittersweet day! Wishing to the very best!
David’s vlog is more than I was hoping for and every kind of SPECIAL! He just gives & gives, working & recording up to the last minute for us. All he is asking in return is that we respect that his focus will be on his task at hand for the next two years and he hopes we understand. Oh David!
So yes, we will be here because he is worth the wait and whatever David is able to share with us will be appreciated but not expected. I hope David’s transition will be as easy and worry-free as possible for him.
Vaya Con Dios, Querido David!
To The Voice Admins, thank you for showcasing this special Prayer for David which I did not expect and which made it easy for all who wished to share in the message to do so. I’m happy the words were a source of comfort for those who were having a difficult time (like I was and still am) as David begins his new journey and new life for the next two years. There will be some tough days when David will be terribly missed more than usual & I hope the Prayer for David will continue to be a source of comfort.
Abrra- Any picture of David is gorgeous. I just like this one especially right now. I like looking in those eyes straight on. I can do it from my computer; real life . . . well that would be another story.
Thanks, now I can at least just scroll up and there he is. 🙂
I don’t even know where to start–you all have such wonderful comments…..
Silverfox–Thank you so much for the beautiful prayer, it is printed out ready to be framed -so I can set it on my dresser…
SB–Thank you for your work on the bracelets–I will e-mail you back tonite…
Sky–What a great idea to plant something to mark this day–it can grow and sprout anew–like David will be doing.
Dja- ♪♪Happy Birthday to you!♪♪ 😛
Steno—All my love to you –today and always.
Gladys–David will be closer to you than any of us–hope that basement you’ll be locked in has electricity so you can still translate his book!! 😉
Anna –# 79–that just plain done me in—Thank you!!!
Abs # 74—that about did me in too!! and Thanks for chat last nite–and whoopie tonite too!!!!
These two are quite a bit older in this video–but they are two of my first idols- cause when I grew up I was going to be a cowgirl and yodel. 🙄
I warned everybody last nite –that this song had been running around in my brain—call it cheesy–sappy– and silly–but–that describes me pretty well–so here goes—-please forgive me!!!
David’s vlog was perfect in every way. After all he has done for us these past four years and his constant selflessness, his request for privacy during his mission touched my heart. He will be in my prayers each day while he is on his personal journey. He is such a blessing.
I just want to say: I think that this is a miracle. To see that picture above in #92, to see him there with his family, doing this thing that is so separate from everything and everywhere he would “normally” be. Do you know how crazy this is?! How completely off. the. charts?
“Look world! I just bipped and bopped and turned up somewhere else!” – “I just zigged and zagged and now you see me … and now you don’t. Well… you do but you don’t. … Sort of.
And let me tell you world (Says Mr. DA), I am a little scared of the whole thing. And I never wanted anything more. And… and… and… YOU are a big reason why this whole, strange, weird, crazy ((bluesky here: “I think I hear a song coming on!”)) thing is even possible. Not that I would not have done it anyway. But actually, you and I know that we have created this miracle together. Your miracle and mine. You say that I have given you a gift and you cannot explain the sound of my voice in your heart and I will never know how much it means to you. Well, guess what?
You have given me something in return. Your support. And many of you will never know or have any idea what it means to me. –
So, in a way, you are part of the miracle of me having my dream. Thank you, fans.”
Oh, I think DA knows this very well. This is what I hear when he speaks.
You are a bit of a miracle yourself, Mr. DA.
Yes, it is crazy. And I think I have no choice but to happily follow you into that perfectly crazy land where such miracles can and do happen. Thank you for believing not only in your dream, but in us as well.
Waited all morning with my phone at work and began to think he was going to leave without saying goodbye! So relieved (oh me of little faith) to see that text message at last. Watched the vlog hours later when got off work. No tears yet. Maybe it will hit me down the road but for now I just feel relief that he is one day closer to coming home. Gonna go fill in the dates on my phone app to count down the days.
I guess he is in his bunk with lights out by now. Good luck and God bless you too, David!
Oh, the Places You’ll Go!
by Dr. Seuss
Congratulations!
Today is your day.
You’re off to Great Places!
You’re off and away!
You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes
You can steer yourself
any direction you choose.
You’re on your own. And you know what you know.
And YOU are the guy who’ll decide where to go.
You’ll look up and down streets. Look ’em over with care.
About some you will say, “I don’t choose to go there.”
With your head full of brains and your shoes full of feet,
you’re too smart to go down any not-so-good street.
And you may not find any
you’ll want to go down.
In that case, of course,
you’ll head straight out of town.
It’s opener there
in the wide open air.
Out there things can happen
and frequently do
to people as brainy
and footsy as you.
And when things start to happen,
don’t worry. Don’t stew.
Just go right along.
You’ll start happening too.
OH!
THE PLACES YOU’LL GO!
You’ll be on your way up!
You’ll be seeing great sights!
You’ll join the high fliers
who soar to high heights.
You won’t lag behind, because you’ll have the speed.
You’ll pass the whole gang and you’ll soon take the lead.
Wherever you fly, you’ll be the best of the best.
Wherever you go, you will top all the rest.
Except when you don’t
Because, sometimes, you won’t.
I’m sorry to say so
but, sadly, it’s true
and Hang-ups
can happen to you.
You can get all hung up
in a prickle-ly perch.
And your gang will fly on.
You’ll be left in a Lurch.
You’ll come down from the Lurch
with an unpleasant bump.
And the chances are, then,
that you’ll be in a Slump.
And when you’re in a Slump,
you’re not in for much fun.
Un-slumping yourself
is not easily done.
You will come to a place where the streets are not marked.
Some windows are lighted. But mostly they’re darked.
A place you could sprain both your elbow and chin!
Do you dare to stay out? Do you dare to go in?
How much can you lose? How much can you win?
And IF you go in, should you turn left or right…
or right-and-three-quarters? Or, maybe, not quite?
Or go around back and sneak in from behind?
Simple it’s not, I’m afraid you will find,
for a mind-maker-upper to make up his mind.
You can get so confused
that you’ll start in to race
down long wiggled roads at a break-necking pace
and grind on for miles across weirdish wild space,
headed, I fear, toward a most useless place.
The Waiting Place…
…for people just waiting.
Waiting for a train to go
or a bus to come, or a plane to go
or the mail to come, or the rain to go
or the phone to ring, or the snow to snow
or waiting around for a Yes or a No
or waiting for their hair to grow.
Everyone is just waiting.
Waiting for the fish to bite
or waiting for wind to fly a kite
or waiting around for Friday night
or waiting, perhaps, for their Uncle Jake
or a pot to boil, or a Better Break
or a string of pearls, or a pair of pants
or a wig with curls, or Another Chance.
Everyone is just waiting.
NO!
That’s not for you!
Somehow you’ll escape
all that waiting and staying.
You’ll find the bright places
where Boom Bands are playing.
With banner flip-flapping,
once more you’ll ride high!
Ready for anything under the sky.
Ready because you’re that kind of a guy!
Oh, the places you’ll go! There is fun to be done!
There are points to be scored. there are games to be won.
And the magical things you can do with that ball
will make you the winning-est winner of all.
Fame! You’ll be famous as famous can be,
with the whole wide world watching you win on TV.
Except when they don’t.
Because, sometimes, they won’t.
I’m afraid that some times
you’ll play lonely games too.
Games you can’t win
’cause you’ll play against you.
All Alone!
Whether you like it or not,
Alone will be something
you’ll be quite a lot.
And when you’re alone, there’s a very good chance
you’ll meet things that scare you right out of your pants.
There are some, down the road between hither and yon,
that can scare you so much you won’t want to go on.
But on you will go
though the weather be foul
On you will go
though your enemies prowl
On you will go
though the Hakken-Kraks howl
Onward up many
a frightening creek,
though your arms may get sore
and your sneakers may leak.
On and on you will hike
and I know you’ll hike far
and face up to your problems
whatever they are.
You’ll get mixed up, of course,
as you already know.
You’ll get mixed up
with many strange birds as you go.
So be sure when you step.
Step with care and great tact
and remember that Life’s
a Great Balancing Act.
Just never forget to be dexterous and deft.
And never mix up your right foot with your left.
And will you succeed?
Yes! You will, indeed!
(98 and 3/4 percent guaranteed.)
KID, YOU’LL MOVE MOUNTAINS!
So…
be your name Buxbaum or Bixby or Bray
or Mordecai Ali Van Allen O’Shea,
you’re off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting.
So…get on your way!
Someone came into our lives,
someone we weren’t expecting,
But there he was and now,
before you know it like the Spring,
That has followed Winter,
he is gone,
And as Summer soon approaches,
you wonder just how long,
It will be until you see,
his lovely face again,
And pray that God will keep him,
safe in his arms ‘til then,
We love him and the beauty,
of his voice and of his spirit,
When we listen to his singing,
we praise God each time we hear it,
For He gave him the gift,
that he’s passed along to us,
With his spirit he has shown us,
what it means to follow Jesus,
So David, God be with you,
until we meet again,
We’ll all be right here waiting,
praying for you until then.
73 Abrra…oops! lol I should of known since her name is Patty…another senior moment I guess!! lol
90 Dak….I love Roy and Dale! Back in the old days, my sister and I used to watch them and Gene Autry. We would sit at the bar (coffee table) with our cap guns strapped on watching the westerns. My fav was Roy and her fav was Gene! haha
I ended up either gone or busy all day. I had to get a new phone and when she was talking about the 2 yr contract, that it would be up 2 yrs from today, I said “that’ll work”! I told her what I was talking about and she remembered installing “Crush” on my old phone and put it on my new one!♥
What a fun time we had in chat again last night! I like the earlier start because it means I can stay longer 🙂 While we wait, I will definitely announce more weeknight chats as my schedule permits. Of course everyone is welcomed to go in Unplugged 24/7 and meet with friends and watch videos. Feel free to share the link http://www.livestream.com/thevoiceunplugged with anyone.

by Jason Scott on Wed March 28, 2012 at 02:33 pm
We all know David Archuleta has signed on for a two year Mormon Mission in South America. He posted his very last video blog today March 28 before he moves on to the next phase of his life.
OMG. We’ll miss you, David!
Obviously, he won’t be able to post on Twitter, Facebook ,etc, while he is away. In the video, he gets a little emotional. Aww. I can’t believe he’ll be gone for two years! Wow!

David Archuleta Posts One Last Video Blog Before Leaving On His Mission
The time is here. David Archuleta let us know in December last year that he was going to take two years off the music circuit to become a Mormon missionary. Now, just three short months later, he’s off! David has posted one last video blog on YouTube to his fans before embarking on his journey. It’s long, rambling in parts, but very earnest and sweet. You can see that there’s a whole lot going on with him. It’s not the easiest decision to make. Think about it, American Idol star becoming a modern-day missionary. We think it’s incredible and truly respect him for what he’s doing. David’s off to South America this week and he says, “This is a very personal decision at the same time I appreciate you guys being respectful of that I’ll be doing and what I’ve been trying to focus on…” It’s almost like a conversation with his fans, telling them that he’s still going to be around and that he wants to hear from them. So if you’re an Archie fan, have a go at the vlog and tell us what you’re thinking about his mission. We wish David all the luck!
The title says “It’s Not Goodbye,” but it sure felt like it.
American Idol runner-up David Archuleta posted a YouTube video today giving his last word to all his fans that have followed him throughout his journey before he starts a new chapter as a Mormon missionary.
“It’s been a very emotional last week,” he says.

“I was able to have a lot of family and a lot of friends come. I gave my farewell, kind of last talk this Sunday to my neighbors, my friends and my family…It’s a decision everyone knows about but it’s a very personal thing and I wanted to keep it that way. So I hope you guys respect that, and you guys have so I appreciate that.”
Archuleta explained that packing and getting ready has been “quite the task” and that he’s going to miss talking to everybody and sharing “weird, random things that I’m doing or thinking about.”
The singer will be serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at an undisclosed country and reportedly entered the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah, today as a precursor to the assignment.
David closes the video with, “I will see you all in two years. God bless.”

ZapToIt David Archuleta on Mormon mission: ‘I will see you all in two years’

December, “American Idol” Season 7 runner up David Archuleta announced his plans to go on a two-year Mormon mission. Three months later, the time has come for him to begin his new chapter as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Before heading out, 21-year-old Archuleta made sure to leave his fans a farewell video blog, titled “It’s Not Goodbye” on his YouTube account. “This will be the last one that I make just from home and being able to be free, not as a missionary, and stuff,” he says.
He talks about his mindset as he embarks. “It’s been a very emotional last week,” he says. “I was able to have a lot of family and a lot of friends come. I gave my farewell, kind of my last talk this Sunday just to my neighbors, my friends and my family… It’s a decision everyone knows about but it’s still, like, a very personal thing and I wanted to keep it that way, so I hope you guys respect that, and you guys have, so I appreciate that.”
He expresses some concerns about how much he’ll miss his family, but then turns his attention to his fans. “I’m going to miss being able to talk to all of you, let you know what’s going on, sharing my thoughts and weird random things that I’m doing or thinking about. I appreciate that you guys have still been there.” He thanked his fans for a video they made him, adding, “I wouldn’t be here without all of you guys doing what you do… it’s more like you guys have brought me on this journey.”
Though he says he’s excited to head to South America, he warns fans that he won’t be able to include them on his journey. “I’m trying to focus on something else there, not my career. I’m going to be trying my best to focus on the people over there, and more one-on-one experiences.”

Sad about @DavidArchie not being on Twitter for 2 years until I realized that if I add “haha” to @kingsthings’ tweets, it sounds like David!
I GOT MY FOREVERMORE CD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you could please leave comments in all of the links and youtubes. Please use David Archuleta in your comments.
Thank you all.
I arrived late to chat and ran into Gladys!
Thank you for the birthday wishes. A little story. My daughter cooked a beautiful dinner. My niece loved the potatoes and asked what they were called. Daughter said “funeral potatoes” niece said “what?’ daughter said “ask your auntie” niece looks at me, I said ” well it’s a popular dish in Utah brought to funeral receptions and holidays that’s why they’re called that, niece “In Utah?” hubby says “think about it” niece ” ohhhhhh David lol” hahahahahaha
I can’t speak for anyone else but my world seems a bit off kilter today, like something or someone is missing. Reading back my words, it sounds like a ridiculous statement to make because David is really not in my everyday world. Aside from a concert or two, I don’t see him on a daily basis except in videos and pictures online. But still there’s an emptiness….
The silver lining is that David left us something. Countless friendships have been made thanks to him, when all we signed up for was the music. An impromptu chat last night turned into a support group of friends. Bless you all!
Dee – what a wonderful piece. You are THE author of THE original prayer so long ago, or was that like…just yesterday, 😉 ….seems like it, doesn’t it?! So full of love and heart and soul. Just as 2008 seems like yesterday although almost 4+ years ago, so too the days til April 2014 will jet by.
I haven’t been by The Voice in a while and wanted to stop by and give everyone a {{{Hug}}}.

“Dee – what a wonderful piece. You are THE author of THE original prayer so long ago, or was that like…just yesterday, 😉
The prayer was one of the first things I read by Dee, Silverfox. I was so alone in this craziness that had embodied me for this singer lol Then I found people who wrote about what I was feeling, well maybe I wasn’t crazy after all. Would someone who was crazy write such a beautiful prayer for this young man? Of course not 🙂
“Just as 2008 seems like yesterday although almost 4+ years ago, so too the days til April 2014 will jet by.”
If you can stand to read comments, you can even “like” the positive ones. So far, the “one hit” type comments are getting lots of likes and thus staying at the top of the page. (That’ll teach me to read while I type. LOL.)
Hope everyone is well today. Excited to hear that the Forevermore CDs are not that far away. Can’t wait to LISTEN!!
I’m reading and liking, thumbs up on everything positive and thumbs down the stupidity. I know it takes time but if everyone did it once a day it would help to keep his name and the positivity up 🙂
The final draft for the bracelets is being made today. The original quote was too long. There is a surprise or two in store and I will show you when they arrive. I am excited because it will feel rather special to wear it. Something hidden on it …
Kizzi,
So glad we got the chance to meet at Westbury’s VIP last December!
Sending {{{hugs}}} back atya. We’re already counting down the days until David returns. Glad you stopped by.
Good news on Twitter from Kari after fans asked:
@lovefrommich@kariontour yay thanks 4 everything! When can we expect u to tweet from his account? Will u tell us when he arrives to south America?
@kariontour @lovefrommich Yes, when I have news and updates from him I will post from @DavidArchie’s account.
and
@ArchieTina @kariontour Good Morning! I guess you’ll be getting a lot more tweets from us now. Are you ready? Haha!
@kariontour@ArchieTina lol! Bring it on! I want to be here for ya’ll. I hope I can help.
Kari Sellards
I am here for you guys just like I know you will all be here for me and for @DavidArchie now and when he returns and we say THANK YOU!
Somewhere on the internet there is a countdown clock for David. They showed it on TV last night…anybody seen it? I’m gonna look around. Dja….this would seem like your type of digging 🙂
a little more from me.. #114 …. he returns on April 1, 2014, according to the clock, that’s why the extra days…. any way to get this on my desktop? I couldn’t figure it out.. (go figure) so I bookmarked it
Awwww! So sweet of you to remember. It seems like yesterday we were spazzing over every little thing David did. It was really a crazy, wonderful time. We were in the beginning of this crazy little thing called “ODD”. We were so enthralled with David and so mesmerized & hypnotized by him. Such great happy times back then when we were so sure he was destined to be a huge superstar! The first prayer came to out of the blue when David was not feeling well & I was compelled to post a prayer hoping it wouldn’t offend or be perceived to be anything more than a sincere wish that David would be taken care of. I had never written anything like that in my life! But the words just flowed. As I have always said, David has this power to inspire us to do things we never dreamed we could do or would EVER attempt to do, for that matter.
Anyway, thanks Kizzi, for taking me back to some of the best times of my life! And OMG!! The best is yet to come when David returns. I can’t even begin to imagine how we will be able to contain our sheer joy when we see him on stage again!!
SF – yes, oh, yes. I remember the “pass the O2” and the “paddles” banter…bahahahahahaha. Little did we know how much we would be inspired for 48 months by a young man who sings from is heart.
And here is a copy of your original prayer that I kept (or at least a version of it, 😀 )…so beautiful!!!
Dear Lord,
Please take care of David.
Watch over him, protect him from all harm.
Cloak him with your love and give him the strength to endure all that is thrown in his path.
Give David the courage and guidance to say no to those who ask for more than he can reasonably give.
Surround David with loving and supportive people who love him unconditionally as we, his devoted Archangels do.
Separate David from those who have agendas other than for his well being.
Give him rest when he feels weary.
Give him stamina to sustain his hectic pace.
Give him assurance when he feels doubt.
Give him joy when he feels sad and never allow David to feel alone or lonely.
Give us the wisdom to always do right by David.
Help us support David so that it’s always in his best interest.
CLOAK DAVID IN YOUR PROTECTIVE ARMS, KEEPING DAVID AND HIS VOICE HEALTHY AND STRONG as he fulfills his Destiny which was written in his Book of Life before he was born.
Though we may be unworthy Lord, we humbly pray. Amen
So apropos also for his next 2 years. Although his VOICE will be employed exclusively in service of his Lord.
Tawna, I can’t figger it out either :(.
♥thank you, at least you found it!
90. Dak,thanks for posting the Roy and Dale video. Boy so nostalgic, and so fitting a song, especially when they sing the 2nd verse.love that. I loved Roy and Dale!! and Trigger!!♥ as David always says…”good times” :))
Lynella, love “Gods Gift” so beautiful!
03. Bluesky♥ you nailed it for me, as translator! . so I am with you ~
“Yes, it is crazy. And I think I have no choice but to happily follow you into that perfectly crazy land where such miracles can and do happen. Thank you for believing not only in your dream, but in us as well.”
(just love that)
We have found various countdown clocks but unfortunately our WordPress Theme ( layout of this site) limits the possibilities. Djafan has a plan to list the months on the sidebar and then remove them as time passes.
I came home from work today and checked David’s twitter, and there wasn’t anything new. Just felt so empty inside. Like the light has gone off all over the world. I know it hasn’t, it’s just moving to a different hemisphere, but it will be pretty dark up here for the next 2 years. I’m still waiting for my OPM CD to arrive. That will brighten things up a lot.
Love all of you guys. I’d hate to think how awful this time would be if we didn’t have places like The Voice to go for encouragement. Thanks for all you do.
Something about David , written by Elder Draper. Hoping David can have his own blog about his experience same with Elder Draper. The information was posted by his family.

“It’s the Day After Tomorrow” as sung by David himslef. 3/28/12, is a great day to all of us who have enjoyed listening to a voice from someone whom we can relate to, a Brother of our own and now and Elder amongst us, so with that said we welcome Elder David Archuleta to the MTC. ”

SF, a beautiful prayer and letter, spoken from your heart. Exactly what I needed, thank you so much.
Wasn’t sure he was gonna make it through that vlog.
Him holding his sign. He made a sign for us. There could never be anyone more connected to his fans, ever.
Haaappy Belated Birthday dja!!
bluesky, I too think he now completely understands the depth of our feelings, the totality of our commitment. He gets it, he understands it, he treasures it, and he reciprocates it, completely.
Emmegirl14, “I too think he now completely understands the depth of our feelings, the totality of our commitment. He gets it, he understands it, he treasures it, and he reciprocates it, completely.”
I so agree with you….it maybe took him a tad longer to ‘get us’, than it took for us to ‘get him’, but he’s there. I kind of think he may have been in some sort of denial that he could really be worthy of this sort of happening. It was just so far out of his realm of comprehension. After all, he’s just a ‘normal, loves his family and singing, Mormon boy from Murray, Utah. Right? Haha. Not. The thing that matters now, tho’ is that he and we are all about caring and respecting each other.
I would love for his family or Kari to set up a blog for him. Maybe they will. But then, maybe we would be invading his world, his place where he is going now. *sigh*
My morning routine is changing. The first thing I do is check my mission countdown app on my phone. Each small red dot brings me closer to the day when David comes back.
I check my mail for “updates” from Google about David. These days it’s all about his latest blog in the press. Some observations I made from reading comments under articles are that there are people support him. Those who don’t know him display their ignorance by condemning his decision, even though they are not fans. As if what they type will be noticed and followed. Time spent doing such things is a true waste. The good news is that fans have given him the room to grow. David does acknowledge that fans respect his choice to serve his Heavenly Father. I am glad he said that because it tells me he is going with a healthy mindset. He won’t worry about what will be going on in the fan base because he knows we have his back. He can focus on what he needs to gain the most from his experiences in South America.
If your morning routine has started to change, let me know ? I am off for a dog walk, which I used to do in late afternoon.
All quiet on the Western Front ….. thank god for the fans making videos. Something new to watch and listen to. I’m thinking of learning Spanish over the next two years.
@DavidArchie Hey Guys! Still at MTC. Could be there anywhere from 3 to 9 weeks.
via web
This is SO cool.
So… there are a couple of things that can determine how long a missionary stays at the MTC.
1. Language: How fluent are they in the language of the country they are going to.
2. Foreign MTC: If there is a “local” MTC in the country sometimes they go there as well to learn the customs and language where they are closer to the people. So sometimes a missionary will spend additional time at a foreign or “local” MTC for that country, but less time at the MTC in Provo, UT.
3. Visas: Visas have a mind of their own and each country’s requirements are different. Some missionaries spend a little extra time in the MTC waiting for their visas. (In rare occasions, if a visa is majorly delayed the missionary may be assigned to a different area for a time.)
Ergo: “Could be here for 3-9 weeks.” ^_^
Don’t you just love him for letting us know? All us “worried Moms” and “bros/sisters” and “family”?
MT, Marlie…loving the idea of learning a little Spanish while we wait! Hey, Gladys…phrase of the week?… word of the day? Haha!
I loved that Kari mentioned PandA as one of her favorite David songs. I thought I was the only one that loved that one! It was my favorite right after MKOP from his TOSOD album. It’s my “feel good” song! I was always sad that he never sang that one live (except for Rexburg, I think) before the album came out.
Belated Birthday greetings…Dja and Pattycake!
I hope David is enjoying his time in the MTC…I think it’s great that he is getting to spend so much time with people his own age…where the emphasis is not on his career or his celebrity status. I imagine, however, that those sister missionaries are spending a little more time on their appearance these days! Haha!
I could feel the collective smile on the faces of everyone in the fanbase after that tweet! Whether it was actually tweeted by David or Kari doesn’t matter. He’s thinking of us and knows we’re thinking of him. 🙂
It would be wonderful if he would keep a written blog such as this one I found online from Elder John Robert Gaskill III who is at the MTC in Provo and noticed that Elder David Archuleta is in his building! Go to this link to read what he has to say about it.
Great Investigator Bebe, that is all very interesting and poor David it isn’t his regular fans going crazy over his presence. So there David you are a super star!!
“The other big news this week is that David Archuletta reported to the MTC yesterday, and there has been a lot of talk going around about him. His classroom is in the same building as mine and on the same floor and I have seen him a lot but I haven’t talked to him because every single person knows who he is and wants to talk to him so i don’t want to be like everyone else. Everyone is obsessed with him tries to talk to him during his classes and during meals. I feel bad for him. He already knows Spanish and is going to ____ after 3 weeks so he won’t be here for too long. I hope he can avoid the hype and focus on his mission. It is kind of cool to be here at the same time as someone famous though and just randomly walk by him and recognize his face.”
Yeah, I read his blog and thought that that whole “celebrity thing” could be just about as hard a thing to overcome as a major physical handicap. But if anyone can do it, DA can. That is one reason the people cheered him at the Christmas concert. They knew in their hearts that it was an immense challenge he was taking on. No one would have thought less of him if he had decided not to go. I will pray for him that he can know best how to handle the situation gracefully and gain what time he needs for himself.
Maybe (tongue in cheek, here!) they can have a scheduled “book signing day or question day” and then ask the others to let him be? Their schedule is so tight, I don’t know that they could. But I have faith that they will figure something out. I know he will get lots of support.
I think that I know what you are going to say but it is a vote of confidence for the future from another place, from other people perhaps. It will die down surely. He will probably be gone soon anyway. He has a good grasp of his religion and his Spanish. His travels doing firesides and whaytever else in the direction of Asia and being in India has taught him a lot so he does have an advantage this is not at all new to him as to some who are coming from school. I think that he has been doing missionary work already and understands a great deal.
Hmmm I read the blog, too. Since I don’t know David’s mind, I’m kind of undecided about how I feel and have to wonder how he feels about it. On one hand, I’d like to see him left in peace to focus on the reason he’s there. On the other, I wouldn’t like the idea that no one talks to him because of who he is.
I do think, or at least hope, that perhaps things will die down after he’s there a while. It’s all so new right now. And maybe it will work as a crossovser time for him, helping to ease the transition from celebrity David Archuleta to missionary Elder Archuleta as it dies down. (trying to find the silver lining hiding in the grey)
I almost screamed when I saw the tweet from David via Kari. That was so kind of him. Seems like David is a beacon of light even amongst the other MTC’rs, he is a celebrity, a humble one for sure. I was told today by random people that they saw the story about David on the news. I have a strong hunch that his return will make the headlines.
Bluesky, “But if anyone can do it, DA can.” I’m sure of it. Though I didn’t expect that kind of reception for him at the MTC.
#129…I have been listening to CELD lately, thanks. I am learning my first Spanish words from it. It is not a difficult language to learn. But to speak it beautifully belongs to David.
Wrote a long comment a minute ago, but lost it when it sent me elsewhere to do my password and such. So this one will be short.
Hi everyone. Missed all the hoopla with David’s departure to the MTC, was out most of the day. So hubs just went to the gym and I snuck here onto the computer to catch up. I tried to keep up on twitter but to no avail. Love all the pics and vids I am seeing here. I too wished I hadn’t read the blog, but we knew it would happen like this. That is why I am surprised the church sent him to Provo MTC. Bet he won’t be there much longer than the 3 weeks either.
Dja, Happy, happy belated birthday, dear. Hope you day was filled with joy.
SB, can hardly wait to see your bracelet. I will cherish it and never take it off till he gets home.
Buleberry Ice, Thanks so much for the thoughts. I am doing as well as can be expected. A bit swollen here and there, considering they pumped me full of 6 bags of IV solution to clean me out apparently. My eyes are quite droopy at the moment and I can hardly see. Very looking my age today. Other than carrying around this annoying bag wherever I walk to, life is good. All went well, and I will soon be my ornery old self again. But I must say, this surgery was a blessing in disguise, cause the family and doctors and nurses thought I was in pain cause of the tears, but I fooled them. And my family doesn’t think I have gone bonkers totally crying over him entering the MTC, haha!! So, as I say, LIFE IS GOOD!!
Love it here. So love all the friends we have made. Glad we have each other to get us through this next 2 years. Take care all!!
I guess there’s no getting around being a celebrity. His smile is well-known by now and as if that isn’t enough, his last name gives it away. I feel bad because it seems that he wants to maintain some sort of anonymity and realizes that it’s not always possible.
David and family
Sorry no credit given
Found on Twitter but neglected to get name
he tweeted! that is so sweet♥
I am so enjoying these videos and love songs today, feeling a little puny, and there is no better medicine than David. ahhh sing to me David♥
MT thanks for the spanish lesson today!
“I love music = amo música ….
.and … amo David ♥ haha” LOL!great idea MT a little at a time works for me! haha
also agree with what you said about the MTC, and it maybe working as a crossover transition for David?.
So do you think that it is harder for David himself, or for the others, who are in the same building with him?
Bebe, that is a sweet picture♥ awww look at hiiiiiimmm!
Djafan,
Do you have a favorite song on the new cd yet? What a
silly question; they’re probably all favorites. 🙂
I don’t have the cd yet but from The Listening Party my favorities are “You Are My Song”, “Forevermore” and “Maybe”. Oh then there’s “Nandito Ako” and “Wherever You Are”. Yep, I’m loving all that I’ve heard, so far. 🙂
Sky,
“So do you think that it is harder for David himself, or for the others, who are in the same building with him?”
Well, that may depend on if it’s a boy or girl. The girls might have a harder time concentrating. lol
But seriously, I think it has to be harder on David. The others are just distracted for a little while when they see him. He gets distracted many times throughout the day, I’m sure. So, I really do hope it dies down after a week or so. I’m sure they’ll begin to get used to seeing him and it won’t be a big deal anymore for most. At least that’s what I’m hoping for.
Bebe, that pic… It’s nice to see him with his family’s loving arms around him. He seems to be very close to all of his family. He will really miss them.
Oh My Heck, he’s only been gone 3 days and here we have a tweet already! The man loves us, just like we love him!!♥ Loving all this excitement…never a dull moment when we’re talking about David!!!
After reading that blog, I may have to revise my earlier “celebrity status” comment a bit!…but I’ll bet the hoopla will start to die down after the first week or so. I imagine it’s got to be a bit distracting for David, but I’m sure he expected it. I have to admit that I’m secretly smiling just the teeniest bit about all the attention David is getting in the MTC–having a son David’s age and working with a lot of LDS young men, I learned that many of them didn’t consider it “cool” to be a David fan. Haha, I love seeing these young men so excited about him now, and having the opportunity to experience what an awesome guy he is!
Shawna, sending get well wishes your way!
I love the David “sandwich” at #154…or perhaps its a “wrap”!
Hi The voice! MT just because you asked to be corrected, the right way would be: Amo la musica, and learnig wich article to use before names is probably one of the trickiest rules to learn, it has to do with the last letter in the word but sometimes is random and you just have to memorize it. 🙂

Science Fair Judge
Today I went and judged some science fair projects. I was forced to by my Bio 100 class, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. There were a few projects where they did more than I understand in computer programming. I understood almost all of it. I broke one kid’s code by inputting in a blank input stream. Yup. I did it. Overall it was good stuff. And I got pizza afterwards!
I worked on the same assignment for 8 hours today. Didn’t finish. Stress level rising.
I walked through our front door, and back out to visit some other apartments. I walk into one, where one of the roommates is eating a pizza and soda that his mom bought for him online and had it delivered. She did it because he called her and said that he was starving and in the last three days had two meals. At the same time, someone who cuts hair in the MTC comes in to visit another roommate and screams, “Today I cut David Archuleta’s hair!!!!!” She loved it (both his hair and the experience). Funny stuff. Tomorrow is our big day out on the field. Capture the Flag begins tomorrow.
Kari Sellards @kariontour
Who is going to Fans Day Ivory is having tomorrow at Astroplus & Odyssey in Manila to see the video for Forevermore? Send pix @DavidArchie
Kari Sellards @kariontour
@marciami no time for him to read at MTC. What he did not receive before he left I will hold and send when he arrives in South America.
I took 2 yrs of Spanish in high school, but was never very fluent. I can count to ten and know they have “feminine” and “masculine” in their words. I’m going to try and learn it this next 2 yrs! So bring on the words! I’m going to prove that”you can teach an old dog new tricks”! lol
Also, I meant Shawna, not Shana….forgot the w on # 163
TropicalAngel,
Thanks! 😀 Please do correct me. I want to learn it correctly, and Google is not the best teacher. LOL So, “Amo la musica” I like the way that sounds when I say it. (probably pronouncing it wrong haha but it sounds better with the “la” in it. )
So maybe we should just start with words, like the names of things. haha Baby steps. Once we learn some of those, Maybe you can come and help us learn to make sentences from them.
Jan,
“I’m going to prove that”you can teach an old dog new tricks”! lol”
Amo (a short vowel sound, o long vowel sound)
la (a short vowel sound)
musica (U, short vowel sound, i long e vowel sound, c k sound, a short vowel sound)
I love the learning Spanish idea. My best friend at work was born in Mexico, and she is always teasing me in espanol. 🙂 Every day. I’ve started to pick up on it a bit. It’s a beautiful language. Me likey this idea.
Mi vida was what she called me today. 🙂
Dja, my friend just visited her family down in Texas, and came back yesterday. She’s speaking Spanish more in the past two days than ever, lol. Family. ♥
So, I did some research and this is a good one. (really really difficult research) lol
(Also, I was perusing the comments and so many people found David while searching Selena. They were giving him mad props.)
I just read the blogs from the two guys at the MTC. It was to be expected I guess, that David would be somewhat of a distraction to the normal daily activities in the MTC. But I was surprised & didn’t much like how the second guy referred David though. He was being intolerant and envious. Or at least that’s how he came across. Something David is not. Maybe he should have talked to David. He could learn a thing or two about being friendly & kind to “the new guy”, celebrity or not, and there’s no better teacher than David.
That guy wrote a whole paragraph about David and the whole thing made me very sad that David would encounter any form of negativity from the others there. That guy was even put out because David got in the Choir! WHAT the what??? David sang with the best & biggest Choir in the world! THAT’s the what!!!
Sorry but that guy was out of line talking about a fellow Missionary in his blog in that manner. Especially should NOT talk about David that way.
What a treat to get a tweet from David … totally made my day!
Well, this is weird but for some reason I can’t see any of the video’s. Oh well, silly computer … will retry later.
Shawna! Oh, so glad to hear from you & thankful that you made it through not only what sounds like a quite a procedure (gosh, 6 bags sounds like an awful lot of IV fluids) but also braving the big departure day. Hope the days ahead will be filled w/ pampering from your family and beautiful music from David’s Forevermore CD as you fully recover back to your vibrant ‘ornery’ self! Hugs!
Dja & Bebe; You guys are killing me. Still waiting for my CD’s … {stomping my feet & not being very patient about it, lol!} Been listening to the Ustream of Forevermore but I’m sure it pales in comparison to hearing it live!
Sky! Hopefully the ‘medicine’ will be on it’s way soon! 🙂
MT; Yes, love the idea of learning even a little Spanish. I tried my first tweet in Spanish today by cheating and using Google translate but I’m not sure if it’s totally accurate so hopefully I didn’t embarrass myself too much, haha.
SF, the choir thing really surprised me too – huh?
The rest, I chalked up to age.
Betsy, “mi vida”, you could return the compliment and call her your “spicy nacho.” Thanks for that CLF. Remember how crazy we all went when he sang that!
dja, “And no one sings baby better than the Archuleta”…you got that right, baby.
Dja, I really love ‘Tell Me’ too. First time listening to all the songs on the livestream, Tell Me is the one that captured my heart. I just love the way he sings that song.
I had to laugh at that blog too, especially about the MTC choir and his companion, haha! I wonder if that means he will be singing with the choir during the morning session of conference tomorrow morning. eeeeeeekkkkk! If so, maybe I’ll catch a glimpse of him in that sea of faces.
Shawna, hoping you feel better soon. {{{hugs}}}
SandyBeaches, I’d love to help with funds for the bracelets. They sound awesome! Email me.
Loved getting the tweet from David today. I really hope he gives us little tidbits here and there on this journey.
Love the idea of learning spanish words and sentences every day. I’m recording them all on my computer so I can go over them daily to learn them better, but I can see how just knowing the words doesn’t always make the sentences right. That will take more time to learn proper wording.
Wow! Me thinks Jordan what’s-his-head is a leeeettle bit jealous, moody, and very full of himself! I hope he doesn’t talk to David, just so he can say–with pride– that David Archuleta was in the same MTC as he was, at the same time, and he didn’t even talk to him. I just can’t believe I really read what I did in that blog. I hope he’s a better missionary than he is a friend to the new Elder in the building. You’re right SF. He should not be talking about another missionary that way.
Betsy..oh David♥ is right. We are gonna be so d a i d when he comes back and releases a Spanish CD, eeek!
Dja, thanks for the pronunciation help, i.e. long vowel and short vowel sounds.that helps.
why do I have a feeling its gonna take me all of 2 years to learn Spanish?
and still wishing when I met David in LA I had told him my name was Baby. “hi David, I’m Baby.:)) Baby O’Baby. yes, really. It’s Irish”
SF, I understand how you could feel the way you do about what he said in his blog. I took it completely different, maybe because that’s just how my nephew would talk, but he really wouldn’t mean it in any disrespectful way. He’d actually think it was cool to have David in the MTC at the same time. I had to laugh at the choir reference because I took it as a joke. Of course he would make the choir. There would be no doubt about it. 🙂
I do wish that those who encounter David and don’t talk to him are missing out on what a great guy he is, but then again, I think they might just be giving him his space to have that normal experience he is wanting without the celebrity title hanging over him.
David’s experience will be what it is, but I think he will be able to handle himself in any situation.
I’m pretty sure that the MTC choir will be singing at tomorrow’s 2 p.m. (mountain time) session of the General Conference. It will be LIVE on the BYU-TV channel and can be watched online at Mormon Channel.org. David IS in the choir. What a thrill it’ll be to see him…..a real blessing!
Emme – Am loling forever at that. SERIOUSLY!! I already call her my spicy enchilada, lol. She made some and brought them to work at Christmas and BAM. Her nickname. 🙂
Bebe & Dja,
Those songs! *sigh,* That voice. I am still and will always be in love with that voice. Right now I am still lovin’ up on ♥Rainbow and ♥Forevermore.
Sweetonda
“I’m recording them all on my computer so I can go over them daily to learn them better,” That’s a great idea! I think I’ll do that, too.
Blueberry,
I found out today that Google isn’t perfect, haha but at least it’s close!
Sky,
” “hi David, I’m Baby.:)) Baby O’Baby, yes, really. It’s Irish” ROFL I can actually picture you telling David that. And, you just know he’s go “What? Baby O’Baby?” Smart way to get him to say that to you. haha You have to try that when he gets back and I MUST be there for it!
(Hmmm I posted another comment earlier and it’s not here. Guess it’s in the same place all those socks go. lol)
in the English language, nouns are not distinguished in male or female, in Spanish, yes.
for example, the word music, is female.
music. = la musica
dog= el perro, can be female or male= el perro la perra.
all our nouns have an article below, may be singular,
la remera= t-shirt (female noun)
el pantalon= pants (male noun)
or plural
stars= las estrellas (female noun)
days= los dias (male noun)
dja #171: I have to say I’m a little surprised by the flippant attitude of “Mr. Jordan Japan.” I thought he was quite uncharitable towards David. Not the “spirit” I would have expected.
It is interesting to hear that David’s companion will also be his body guard. That actually makes me feel better.
Got my #DA2014 t-shirt today – Hmm – it’s very small LOL Can’twait to get my CD!!!!
Been a strange day for me. It is amazing to come here and you guys are all so normal. I mean it. So… if you wondered if you were, you know: sane, cogent, reasonable articulate (Yes, I do think squee-ing is a legitimate form of expression!), able to walk a straight line in mixed company while composing complete sentences… well, as far as I am concerned you are all at the top of my list.
Just sayin’
And to think that you accomplish all of that AND listen to DA. I think his music must have a quality of healing that just straightens out all the kinks in life and clears away the clouds: “Hello, it’s David here… ”
(Sultry tones breathe kindness and tender mercies of reality into frayed cellular systems – and my self recognizes a language of sound that comes from without and yet is its own, one it can get distracted from – but can never forget. ((Thank Goodness!)) A language that it seems like we remember from some long, long before. We do not know what it is, so we call it music. But it is much, much more.)
(Ah… that explains it! We are all on the same drug! No wonder. *_* … And no cure! ^_^ )
Shawna: So glad the “procedure” is in the past now and getting better is the order of the day. Love you! Hope your CDs come soon for you.
171 Djafan
I think that these young men are oblivious to the fact that the blogs they are posting for their families – who know and love them and are familiar with both their spots and shiny bits – have the potential to be read by millions of people; discussed and mulled over, scanned and noted in various countries and climes: all because they but a certain “name” in their blog. I think this one fellow may have left off DAs last name on purpose in order to avoid just that.
Bluesky,
“(Ah… that explains it! We are all on the same drug! No wonder. *_* … And no cure! ^_^ )”
hahaha That explains you thinking we are all so normal. 😉 JK
Have you guys seenTDC today? JR has some awesome pics on there. They really know how to promote david in the Phils. Love the great displays.
Oh, and if you go to check out TDC, Hang on to your hats! Some VERY nice screencaps from the Forevermore MV. (Maybe one of our sweet admins can bring a couple over here for us.)
Hmmm, I think the video is supposed to premier tomorrow morning in the Phils. Doesn’t that mean we should see it tonight, our time? Ahhh Can’t wait to see it!
Spanish words for the day 🙂
Hermosa = beautiful
es = is
La música es hermosa. = The music is beautiful.
(again, please correct me if it’s not exactly right)
Gladys, I don’t know for sure, but I did hear that the missionary choir sings in the afternoon. This morning it is the Tabernacle Choir. Perhaps someone else knows for sure?
On another note (puns *_*) there is a tab on the page (if you are watching on the internet?) where you can choose a language. So you can listen in Spanish. ^_^
Kari Sellards @kariontour
The MTC choir will be in the 2nd Session of the General Conference. Sorry guys! http://mormonchannel.org
I think Kari had an earlier tweet about MTC choir being at the morning session.
Guess it’s MOTAB choir on the early session. 2nd session should be 4:00 p.m. EDT http://www.lds.org/general-conference/watch?lang=eng
I now realize there are some who are not on facebook so here is what the link showed:
“Here are some excerpts from Elder Silva’s 7th letter. It was a good one so I had a hard time cutting out too much – Hey ya’ll! I’m practicing my Texas accent since I am going to be leaving in about 2 and a half weeks. Crazy huh. ….We have been practicing for General Conference every day. It’s been insane but it will be worth it cause it is going to be awesome! We sing in the afternoon session so if there is anybody that doesn’t know make sure you tell them!! …So the MTC turned into Hogwarts this week. David Archuletta got here and he was pretty much like Harry Potter and everyone was being dumb and looking at him weird! I felt bad and when I went to set up an appointment to get my haircut this morning he was in there getting his haircut. I can be proud to say I just treated him like every other missionary and human being for that matter…..I have never been so excited for Conference then for this one. I’m rather sad because we don’t really get to watch the first one but I’ll try and get the ensign when it comes out so I can read them. I will probably be close to the front because I’m rather short (I know suprising right) and the director said that they try and make sure every missionary gets some camera time so mom when you see me don’t cry! Or you Alec I know you will be broken hearted. ….Oh ya so something else that’s cool is next week we are hosting the new Mish’s! I’m excited. I’ve wanted to do it for a while and now i get to so if you hear of anybody coming in thell them to look for me!
That’s pretty much it for the week so stay safe everyone! Oh ya and I wanted to say thanks toMom, Alec, Mikaela, and Flynt. We have been through alot in our lives and we made it through together. I didn’t know it until I got here but my testimony is based on my love for my family. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for all of you so thank you for you examples and always sticking with me! Love you all!”
Elder Silva
Just a thought: Although many of the songs the MTC choir will be singing may be familiar to DA, I am certain the choir has been practicing for many weeks to perform, and could be using new arrangements as well.
So.. DA arriving there just this last Wednesday and being asked/permitted to participate in the choir underlines their faith in him that he can learn and contribute in such a short time. How many times has this happened in his life? The way he has “prepared” for these extingencies, is to me, the story of his life.
I imagine DA is having the time of his life. (no pressure!)
Steno…that was just so sad for David but if he has friends like that fellow he will have great friends. Of course we are always in awe when we see him too so there isn’t much difference no matter who is near him. Maybe he is used to the awesomness that we saw all around him for years. We practiced hard for him…
it’s official. david archuleta is here. same day as petah. so crazy. can’t believe it. and i’ve been very very close to him like 3 or 4 times and remained very calm and collected. he is tiny. he is beautiful. and he’s in the mtc choir, which is making many ppl pretty uptight, since lots and lotsa ppl wanted to be in it and didn’t make it for one reason or another. all we did was fill out papers that listed our experience. not too fancy. but those poor ppl will have to deal bc i highly doubt elder archuleta got down on his knees on his first whirlwind of a day here and begged to be in the choir. let’s be logical. “oh, i’m not famous enough and i’d like my mission to be an extension of my career, so may i PLEEEEASE be on tv!?!?!” yeah. not happening. but for whatever reason, he was there dark and early the very next morning at rehearsal. wowsa. and sis. w was telling me how ridiculous it is that ppl can’t seem to let it go. she said at breakfast yesterday, ” there are worse things than having a really good singer in the mtc choir for general conference.” and i said, “amen.” and that was even coming from a not-on-the-david-archuleta-bandwagon sister wight. so there. they can all suck a toe, right? well, i’ll be nicer. but it’s still in the “i don’t have control over it” category, so i guess it is, like many circumstances i will face on my mission, not worth complaining about. and HECK! i wouldn’t complain anyway! i get to see someone whom i’ve been dreaming of singing with for about a couple years now almost every day! SWEET! even though we do no more than possibly smile at each other in passing… if that’s happened, yet. he’s very private, i believe. and doesn’t seem to want any attention.
Hi all! So, planning to watch here in the next few minutes or so. thanks for putting the link up SB.
Just wanted to share a quote I came across while going through some paperwork.
“It isn’t the tranquil and placid sea
That bring out the sailors skill:
It’s the wind and waves that pound his ship
And toss it about at will. ~Ritter
David was in the front row behind the organ. It did seem as if they tried to avoid putting the camera on him…until the cameraman just could not help himself towards the end!
😆
Elder Archuleta sings with the MTC choir today at the General Conference. For those who may have missed him in the crowd, I took some screen caps. I was happy he was in a camera shot so his family can see him 🙂
He looks so handsome and I thought that his vlog was the last time we would see him but there will be more occasions. The best picture is at the end and such a full shot…A pleasant surprise to come and find it here!
In such a big choir you get lost in the sounds of the vioces blending together. I imagine that he very much enjoyed it. The timing of his arrival at the MTC was quite on.
I am a huge fan of natural, organic trending. David did it again.
Worldwide and US. ❤
He is so loved.
Just look at his face, he's doing that glowing thing again. Even through his teary eyes.

I think this is the first #ldsconf journalists could use words like “Obama administration” and “American Idol” in their story. #winning
rikandes : I’m no pop culture guru, but would this Elder Archuleta be the David Archuleta of American Idol fame? I know http://t.co/PoLXmmNC
@jewels_my: @DavidArchie Good job singing today at Conference Elder Archuleta! =) http://bit.ly/HaWzcv
Friday at 6.30 pm began my third class at the University of laws, elements of computer science. There was a break in the middle, the class ended at 10.15 pm.
They all went to eat something, but I stayed in my place listening to david. The teacher saw me and ask.
what song are you listening?
me: I’m hearing the best singer there is.
let me hear it and tell you if it is the best singer.
me: I give the headphones and listen to “Everybody Wants To Rule The World”. Look at his face and wait.
He said: I asked you provided headphones that wanted to know you were listening. Your face was shining and I was curious. If this singer produced this effect on you, , I advise you to keep listening to that voice.
me. ¿teacher (with a little afraid) liked her voice?
he told me, I always liked that song, the version of that kid is different, mmmmmm, yes, like me, his voice has peace.
I look at that screenshot of David amongst the choir and think 15 months ago he was singing as a soloist with Motab!!! Then I chuckle reading that some missionaries aren’t happy that David’s in the choir and they aren’t. 🙂

David Archuleta’s “Forevermore” music video premieres on MYX TONIGHT at 8 PHL & on at 8 AM EST for international fans!
We have plans to put that beautiful pic of David on the left sidebar. 🙂
KSL News has an article and video up from today’s conference.
“Also at conference was the recently ordained Elder David Archuleta, who sang with the Missionary Training Center choir at the conference. He entered the MTC earlier this year to serve a two-year mission…”
“BONUS
The newest (and most popular) missionary Elder David Archuleta was spotted singing in the Saturday afternoon session as part of a special “Missionary Training Center” Choir! 🙂
Side note: The last time David Archuleta performed in the LDS Conference Center, he was the star of the show, and the people sitting in the choir seats in this photo were his back-up singers!
I wonder what it must have been like for him to experience this role reversal today? I imagine it was quite a symbolic and humbling moment. For two years, Elder Archuleta is no longer the star, but has chosen to join the rugged rank and file of the Lord’s army, where he will serve as part of a large team, working long hard days with only blessings as payment. David, and all of the missionaries singing in this choir, represent a group of youth who not only love their religion, they live it. What better message could we hope for at Conference?”
254. pardon my excited squeeing comment before I watched the video.
One day, I shall learn to curb my enthusiasm, and be silent.when silent is deemed to be best.
what a beautiful video you made for us David
So softly and tenderly, he is reassuring us we have a place in his heart.
have a blessed Palm Sunday everyone.
Loving Forevemore Video. Yes!! The Hands and the Archugaze. The notes at the end are to die for!!
Also love Trying To Be Like Jesus Abrra. I was there when he sang this at Beaver Creek and it was just a couple of days post Announcement. Such a simple message that all can follow whether they believe in Jesus or not. I listen to this quite often, trying to be like David.
Blessings to all. Loved seeing David in the Choir yesterday. Also enjoyed the talks, especially the one on Envy.
David’s eyes were glistening during Praise The Man.
Love the Forevermore video. The hands! The smouldering archugaze! The voice! Those last notes!
Just goes to show when you have a gorgeous man with a killer voice you don’t need anyone or anything else in a music video.
Where oh where is my CD????????
I played Forevermore for my hubby and I loved his response! He asked if it was a cover, and I said yes from the Philippines. Then he said it reminded him of a Beatles love song and thought it was really good!
David has a relationship with the camera that is so pleasing to the eyes! I have to brace myself for the future…
“So softly and tenderly, he is reassuring us we have a place in his heart.”
Sky, I thought the same thing as I was listening to the words. Even though so many songs are love songs, the ones that David writes and sings can be directed to his fans so easily. You done it again, David! Love it.
Love the video!!!!! It’s like he is saying I love all my fans and I’m so happy that you are here supporting me. Oh by the way…HOTNESS OVERLOUD!!! imo, first video that showed David adult sultry good looks. The camera loves him, of course, not as much as we ODD fans do, lol.
Just watched the Forevermore video and I love it!!!! It is magical says my granddaughter 🙂 It proves again that a true gifted genius singer doesn’t need any gimmicks period.
‘American Idol’ notes: David Archuleta, Adam Lambert, and David Cook
Here’s the cover.
For the first “American Idol” notes of the month, we’re looking at some stories that are taking place all over the world — no joke.
David’s new music video – David Archuleta recently recorded a new album of traditional Filipino music entitled “Forevermore,” and now we have the official music video for the title track taken straight from Filipino TV.
The video is just as tender as the song, and it helps to make you realize just how much we are ultimately going to miss Archuleta’s voice during his two-year absence in order to focus on his Mormon mission. It was just last week that David said his last goodbyes — and while there will be some more music coming out during that span of time, he’s not going to be around in order to promote it.
David news continues today. So much media picked up the LDS conference MTC appearance with pictures and video.

Video: Elder David Archuleta makes appearance in general conference choir
Published: Sunday, April 1 2012 12:01 a.m. MDT
The Saturday afternoon session of the 182nd Annual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints offered music by a men’s and women’s combined choir from the Missionary Training Center. Those who watched to the very end of that session might have noticed as the camera focused for a moment on the most famous participant in that choir — the American Idol star David Archuleta.
Blending into the choir with his white shirt, dark suit, red tie and newly trimmed hair, Elder Archuleta’s name on his Spanish language name tag was unmistakeable. Of course, Elder Archuleta is no stranger to the Conference Center stage, having performed there as a solo singer for the Christmas series with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir in 2010.
Look to the right of the screen at around 4:42 for a glimpse of the singer.
Bebe,
“Real talent doesn’t need high-budget videos. The Voice alone is all that’s needed to engage the audience and sell the song.”
I completely agree. And having a gorgeous face attached to that voice is an added bonus. (He really does look all kinds of gorgeous and every single year of his age in it.)
I think it’s a beautiful video. And I really love Forevermore, one of my favs from the album. All they needed was his voice singing that song and his face in it for me to be a fan of it. Nothing else needed. (Well, except maybe a few more close ups.)
I think it’s a beautiful video too. Closeups of his hands, that expressive face (2:27) . The sunlight on his face in the outdoors part – I have to say it’s staggering.
And Sky – please never apologize for squeeeeing. We love it, we all do it, and there is no silent rule. <3333333333
Anyone else notice that he did the watch switch up thing again? It graced both wrists. 🙂
Back to my own personal viewing party.
I will be honest and say I was not thrilled with the filming of the Forevermore video at first. I knew it was a copy from a television broadcast, so I let it go. His voice is so pure when he sings this song it needs no fancy “story”. Luckily I found a HQ version posted on AFS from Yahoo Philippines that changed my mind on the production. Here is the link : http://archuletafanscene.com/2012/04/01/forevermore-music-video-on-yahoo-from-ivory-music/
I had quite an interesting day here in the cave. Cheers to my son in law for helping me out on some things that he does better than I do. I came into my room and set a full glass of lemonade on the mouse pad that my grandson was using and he promptly knocked it over 😉 It poured over my keyboard and underneath too. Soaking all my silly little scraps of paper with info about various passwords, instructions on how to reset my router, and precious phone numbers of fan friends I had tucked there for reference. The rug below was dark with wet sticky lemonade. I tried to save the keyboard by flipping it over and shaking the liquid out for several minutes. It was not to be, I had damaged it so that the space bar did not work anymore. Son in law took over and scrubbed the rug with hot water and rug cleaner. Its looking fine! Then he helped me color my old lady hair roots. 🙂 It’s always easier when you do some one else’s hair, right? I look MAHVELOUS!
I just got back from Best Buy where I bought a new keyboard. It has been anything BUT silent around my cave today 🙂
David Archuleta: ‘Forevermore’
By Yahoo! OMG! Editors | Yahoo! Special Projects – 6 hours ago
In his final video blog before he goes on a spiritual mission in South America, David Archuleta thanked his family, friends and fans who supported him throughout his career.
“I wouldn’t be here without all of you guys doing what you do. You guys have brought me on this journey. I appreciate being able to share what I’ve learned with you guys because of you guys,” he said.
And with that, David Archuleta leaves his avid followers an inspiring song that somehow summarizes his love for his mission and love for his fans.
Here’s the online premiere of David Archuleta’s newest music video “Forevermore” courtesy of Ivory Music and Video.
Oh my abs!! What a day! Oh well, as long as you look beautiful-it just doesn’t matter….
I love the video ….nothing more needed …just the face and the voice….and the hands…
As I told the guys in chat last night I have been blessed with dreams of David where I am reading things that are written—no images –no people just words—
Last nights installment ( what I can remember ) Someone was writing that David had come from behind to win a foot race against two other guys for the only spot left on the MTC flag football team. They mentioned –that he really knew how to pace himself. Haha How’s that for a weird dream. 😉
Hey!! At least I’m dreaming about him—hope it keeps up for 726 more days!!
ONE MORE THING FOR THOSE WHO ORDERED VIA MULTIPLY ACCOUNT:
Please make sure that you complete the VERIFICATION PROCESS by sending in a scanned copy of your credit card or any valid ID. At the bottom of the 2nd email that you should have received, it says:
” In order for us to verify the payment and proceed with the delivery of your order via astrovision, we will need for you to send us a scanned copy of the credit card holder’s valid ID (your real name) and the front side of the credit card (you may cover the last 8 digits for protection). This is a standard operating procedure to ensure that we are transacting with the card holder himself/herself and that the card was not used fraudulently.
This additional step may not be required in other online sites but since we are closely monitoring charge backs and refunds, this is something that we really put emphasis on.
You may send the scanned copies of the documents to this email address — verifyph@multiply.com and put in the subject line: VERIFY: PP, username, Php x,xxx.xx
We are hoping for your understanding and once again, thank you for patronizing Multiply.”
Failure to do so means your order is pending and not being processed. Which means you may ave to wait for a little longer for the shipping
I’ve always thought the song was to die for since the first time I heard it and now, between the gorgeous tone in his voice and his gorgeousness in general, well … do i really need to say anymore?
To whomever had the fabulous idea to make that video, Thank You!
275. Dak, those dreams are nice.keep em coming!
Angelica, “Simple and real, without frills, and it gets more powerful with each viewing.”
YES!!
That voice is like a drug. The more you listen the more you crave it… can’t ever get enough, Even listening to Davids voice through headphones,I turn up the volume and tightly press the headphones to my ears! Know of any surgeon that does earbud transplant surgery?
Sky!…Haha: “Know of any surgeon that does earbud transplant surgery?” I totally know what you’re talking about–nothing like that voice!
Angelica…”it gets more powerful with each viewing.” I noticed the same thing!
MT…”the gorgeous tone in his voice and his gorgeousness in general” Yes, and yes!
Abrra…hope your day is better tomorrow! Mine was not a great one today either. My daughter who attends BYU (the one who so many of you sent prayers to last year) went to General Conference in SLC today, and collapsed during the last session. She was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital. I am about 5 hours away and was freaking out. Fortunately, it wasn’t too serious, and totally unrelated to the illness that almost took her life last year. She is doing much better tonight…and so am I.

**sigh**
It’s almost time for the candle to be lit for real, and for kitty to find her perch. I love this place. {{hugs to all}}

If only I can get through this.

I love it..hope you will too.

Sorry to ramble — I’m a mess today.

God bless. Take care.”

Watched the vlog hours later when got off work. No tears yet. Maybe it will hit me down the road but for now I just feel relief that he is one day closer to coming home. Oh, the Places You’ll Go!
by Dr. Seuss
Congratulations!
Today is your day.
You’re off to Great Places!
You’re off and away!
You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes
You can steer yourself
any direction you choose.
You’re on your own. And you know what you know.
And YOU are the guy who’ll decide where to go.
You’ll look up and down streets. Look ’em over with care.
About some you will say, “I don’t choose to go there.”
With your head full of brains and your shoes full of feet,
you’re too smart to go down any not-so-good street.
And you may not find any
you’ll want to go down.
In that case, of course,
you’ll head straight out of town.
It’s opener there
in the wide open air.
Out there things can happen
and frequently do
to people as brainy
and footsy as you.
And when things start to happen,
don’t worry. Don’t stew.
Just go right along.
You’ll start happening too.
OH!
THE PLACES YOU’LL GO!
You’ll be on your way up!
You’ll be seeing great sights!
You’ll join the high fliers
who soar to high heights.
You won’t lag behind, because you’ll have the speed.
You’ll pass the whole gang and you’ll soon take the lead.
Wherever you fly, you’ll be the best of the best.
Wherever you go, you will top all the rest.
Except when you don’t
Because, sometimes, you won’t.
I’m sorry to say so
but, sadly, it’s true
and Hang-ups
can happen to you.
You can get all hung up
in a prickle-ly perch.
And your gang will fly on.
You’ll be left in a Lurch.
You’ll come down from the Lurch
with an unpleasant bump.
And the chances are, then,
that you’ll be in a Slump.
And when you’re in a Slump,
you’re not in for much fun.
Un-slumping yourself
is not easily done.
You will come to a place where the streets are not marked.
Some windows are lighted. But mostly they’re darked.
A place you could sprain both your elbow and chin!
Do you dare to stay out? Do you dare to go in?
How much can you lose? How much can you win?
And IF you go in, should you turn left or right…
or right-and-three-quarters? Or, maybe, not quite?
Or go around back and sneak in from behind?
Simple it’s not, I’m afraid you will find,
for a mind-maker-upper to make up his mind.
You can get so confused
that you’ll start in to race
down long wiggled roads at a break-necking pace
and grind on for miles across weirdish wild space,
headed, I fear, toward a most useless place.
The Waiting Place…
…for people just waiting.
Waiting for a train to go
or a bus to come, or a plane to go
or the mail to come, or the rain to go
or the phone to ring, or the snow to snow
or waiting around for a Yes or a No
or waiting for their hair to grow.
Everyone is just waiting.
Waiting for the fish to bite
or waiting for wind to fly a kite
or waiting around for Friday night
or waiting, perhaps, for their Uncle Jake
or a pot to boil, or a Better Break
or a string of pearls, or a pair of pants
or a wig with curls, or Another Chance.
Everyone is just waiting.
NO!
That’s not for you!
Somehow you’ll escape
all that waiting and staying.
You’ll find the bright places
where Boom Bands are playing.
With banner flip-flapping,
once more you’ll ride high!
Ready for anything under the sky.
Ready because you’re that kind of a guy!
Oh, the places you’ll go! There is fun to be done!
There are points to be scored. there are games to be won.
And the magical things you can do with that ball
will make you the winning-est winner of all.
Fame! You’ll be famous as famous can be,
with the whole wide world watching you win on TV.
Except when they don’t.
Because, sometimes, they won’t.
I’m afraid that some times
you’ll play lonely games too.
Games you can’t win
’cause you’ll play against you.
All Alone!
Whether you like it or not,
Alone will be something
you’ll be quite a lot.
And when you’re alone, there’s a very good chance
you’ll meet things that scare you right out of your pants.
There are some, down the road between hither and yon,
that can scare you so much you won’t want to go on.
But on you will go
though the weather be foul
On you will go
though your enemies prowl
On you will go
though the Hakken-Kraks howl
Onward up many
a frightening creek,
though your arms may get sore
and your sneakers may leak.
On and on you will hike
and I know you’ll hike far
and face up to your problems
whatever they are.
You’ll get mixed up, of course,
as you already know.
You’ll get mixed up
with many strange birds as you go.
So be sure when you step.
Step with care and great tact
and remember that Life’s
a Great Balancing Act.
Just never forget to be dexterous and deft.
And never mix up your right foot with your left.
And will you succeed?
Yes! You will, indeed!
(98 and 3/4 percent guaranteed.)
KID, YOU’LL MOVE MOUNTAINS!
So…
be your name Buxbaum or Bixby or Bray
or Mordecai Ali Van Allen O’Shea,
you’re off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting.
So…get on your way!

God’s Gift
Someone came into our lives,
someone we weren’t expecting,
But there he was and now,
before you know it like the Spring,
That has followed Winter,
he is gone,
And as Summer soon approaches,
you wonder just how long,
It will be until you see,
his lovely face again,
And pray that God will keep him,
safe in his arms ‘til then,
We love him and the beauty,
of his voice and of his spirit,
When we listen to his singing,
we praise God each time we hear it,
For He gave him the gift,
that he’s passed along to us,
With his spirit he has shown us,
what it means to follow Jesus,
So David, God be with you,
until we meet again,
We’ll all be right here waiting,
praying for you until then.

David Archuleta Bids Farewell to Fans in His Last Video Blog – March 28, 2012
by Jason Scott on Wed March 28, 2012 at 02:33 pm

Djafan! (((hugs)))

You are love, Dee
Hugs!!!!!

Haha!

It would be wonderful if he would keep a written blog such as this one I found online from Elder John Robert Gaskill III who is at the MTC in Provo and noticed that Elder David Archuleta is in his building! Go to this link to read what he has to say about it.

Hi all,
I just read the blogs from the two guys at the MTC.
Ok, end of rant…
Loved David’s tweet today!

David loves his family, David loves music.
david ama a su familia, david ama la musica.
in the English language, nouns are not distinguished in male or female, in Spanish, yes.
for example, the word music, is female.
music. = la musica
dog= el perro, can be female or male= el perro la perra.
all our nouns have an article below, may be singular,
la remera= t-shirt (female noun)
el pantalon= pants (male noun)
or plural
stars= las estrellas (female noun)
days= los dias (male noun)
I hope this helps. I do not want to confuse them.

You are amazing!

Kaycee,
We have plans to put that beautiful pic of David on the left sidebar. 🙂
KSL News has an article and video up from today’s conference.
“Also at conference was the recently ordained Elder David Archuleta, who sang with the Missionary Training Center choir at the conference. He entered the MTC earlier this year to serve a two-year mission…”
You can see Elder Archuleta at the 2:00 mark.
http://www.ksl.com/?nid=148&sid=19813487
And from “Mormon Soprano”

Good Morning All!!!!!

Deseret News

I think it’s a beautiful video. And I really love Forevermore, one of my favs from the album. All they needed was his voice singing that song and his face in it for me to be a fan of it. Nothing else needed. (Well, except maybe a few more close ups.)

I will be honest and say I was not thrilled with the filming of the Forevermore video at first. I knew it was a copy from a television broadcast, so I let it go.
