David Archuleta Launches New Clothing and Hair Product Lines!

Singer/songwriter, best-selling Author, Humanitarian and Actor, David Archuleta can now add Endorser for clothing and hair products line to his resume. Just a few hours ago at a musical fashion show at The Trinoma Activity Center in The Philippines, David launched both a new clothing line for Bench Clothing and a new hair products line for Fix Professional Hair Styling Products.
A huge thank you to Norms, who was able to make a Ustream available for the fans back home. After an impressive slide show on a large screen, in which David modeled Bench fashions, he sang five songs, “Nandito Ako”, “Touch My Hand”, the “Good Place/Let It Be” medley, “Crush” and then “A Thousand Miles” after the fans chanted “one more song!”.

David carried the entire concert portion of the show himself and the emotional connection he has with the fans was palpable. There even seemed to be an element of farewell and appreciation, in my humble opinion. Maybe you’ll agree if we’re lucky enough to see the performances on youtube.

Just got through watching the video up top and a rerun of the live stream. Wow, great performance by David as always and I love the way they launch things there in a big way. Music, BIG pics of David 🙂 , confetti cannons. Go Bench & Fix! And the Filipino fans didn’t disappoint, they turned out in a great number to support David, and of course shared with all of us here.

Omigosh, skydancer. Your “I feel like a crazed squirrel running all around, gathering up nuts for the long winter” has to be the perfect metaphor for what most of us must be feeling. I think over the next two years I am going to be very, very thankful that during American Idol season 7 I was enamored enough with a young Latino singer to seek out information about him on the web. The relationships forged over those first months have helped so far and I think they will keep helping.

David saying “I needed that” made me cry. My love and devotion for this amazing young man is cemented not that it wasn’t before he just keeps me adding to it 🙂
I’ve offered Bench to pay for that video of the photo shoot. Did you guys see him playing it up for the camera? I think he’s always been a ham but to shy and inhibited to let loose and be his total self. We began to see it on the My Kind Of Christmas Tour in the way he dressed, danced, sauntered, flirted? Not to mention his rich, velvety, impeccable vocals. Have you watched Salt Lake’s This Christmas? If not please do so 🙂
Which is why I’m so thankful that the opportunity for Nandito Ako. David has said in so many interviews that he has learned things about himself and grown so much by this experience. He seems so happy to know that he can and did do a good job of acting and that he was able to tap into those emotions which exist in all of us but some of us are better at letting them out. David tapped into something deep in himself and was surprised that he had the ability to do so and portray behaviors that aren’t the norm for him or for most, but its acting. I truly believe we wouldn’t see the confidence and growth if it wasn’t for this unexpected endeavor and might have given him a way to release some to those emotions that we sometimes hold in and on to.
I was so excited yesterday reading that David grew up watching telenovelas with his mom. I also grew up watching them and still do. They’re intense drama that last a few weeks. They have a story to tell they tell it and they end. A new one starts with other actors or some of the same. They are very well produced and educational. One of the last ones a watched was based in the town of Tequila, Mexico. In the midst of the drama I learned all about the production, marketing, and export business of the tequila. Right now the one I’m watching is set in a cattle ranch in Tuxtla. These telenovelas are a respected body of work in the Latin countries. They have big names and singers in the roles being played out. The trailers always show the intense scenes to spark interest, but they also have warmth, laughter and lotsa love ♥ And from what I’ve seen so far Nandito Ako has all the same elements.
David’s voice will always be the call but if TPTB don’t hear it then things need to happen to make them aware. Like acting and modeling and yes, the mission. In one month he gained 159,760 followers on facebook, twitter, last.fm and my space. Some of those may be just curious but the media monitors and reports these things to those measuring popularity. Just for comparison Cook with the mega promo gained 25,320 followers in same amount of time. Cook gets radio play, his tour was average and mind you he had Gavin with him, a well known who I keep seeing on night time shows but had no draw. Everyone says the money is made on touring. Well David had a very successful tour close to selling out and almost selling out venues and VIPs. Cook’s VIPs were $75 and no sellouts. Cook has a label, management, publicity team, etc. So why is this? Eman said it best “David has real and staunch fans” yep he does.

I think it’s a little of both.
I can’t help feeling a little guilty that I’ve been thinking so much about myself and all that I will miss while he is gone after his heartfelt tweet about “needing” that video and his comments about realizing that he may have to start from scratch.
As much as he wants to do this mission, the thought that he might not have fans left (even thought I don’t believe that) when he comes back and may have to start from scratch must be so hard for him. I know he has “faith” that it will be ok, but there will surely be many times in the coming months that some doubts will creep in and worry him. My heart kinda hurts for him. It makes me even more determined to be here when he gets back.

You said it perfectly MT. My heart hurts for him, too. I think one reason he has accepted all these wonderful opportunities (acting, modelling, endorsements) is that they are things he has wanted to try, and a part of him wonders if he will have such opportunities when he returns. I tend to think he has laid such a foundation in the Philippines, that he will be able to get started again there in two years without “starting from scratch.” I’m not sure about here in the US though.
I had an interesting experience a couple weeks ago at the salon, and fortunately it did not involve hair color-ha! There were about eight women, ages 30-50, in the salon when the talk turned to American Idol, X-Factor, and The Voice. Well, all I could contribute was that I had only watched one season of AI and that I had become a huge fan of DA. All the women immediately said things like, “Oh, he has a terrific voice” followed closely by, “I wonder what became of him,” “Why didn’t he put out any music,” and “I’ve never heard anything about him since.” Without wanting to appear like a rabid fan, I mentioned his CDs and touring, etc., but everyone then said they didn’t listen to pop, or teen pop, etc., and that wouldn’t have been the sort of thing they would buy. It occurred to me that if I hadn’t made the effort to find out about David through his fansites, I probably would have been saying the same things, because I never listen to pop radio, seldom watch TV, and I certainly wouldn’t have come across his CD in any local stores because they weren’t well-stocked around here. I don’t know how I would have known what he was doing without the fansites.
My point is that David still has tremendous name recognition from AI, but Jive’s imbecilic insistence on pushing him to teens and then not promoting him with CFTH or TOSOD effectively isolated him from many of his older fans, at least here in the US. I I’m just so very grateful to the TPTB in the Philippines and the fans in Asia who are supporting him, and I’m even more grateful for the way in which they share him with us!

I had a little accident with my eye on Monday and haven’t been able to see very well until today. Doctor took the patch off and now its a day off and I can see! So I had all day to savor all the BEAUTIFUL David goodies that I hadn’t been able to properly appreciate all week.

Shes says: “This is the only footage I had of the signing session. Cos I went out of the venue, to get my send-off gift to David Archuleta. But when I was trying to come back,the security wouldn’t let me in anymore! Towards the end of his
signing, one of organizers recognized me and asked what I was doing outside and let me in! So I got this shot but there was no more time to give him my gift. It was weird how randomly selective the process was in allowing people to go up on stage for the signing or gifting. I just wanted to hand the gift, even to Kari or any of David’s assistant but even that we were not even allowed. So Naree and i just went to the hotel to leave our gifts at the concierge. Here’s hoping he or Kari got them.”

I was supposed to sit in the moshpit but when I was studying all the angles and the realization that IT WAS the moshpit (source of all featured pix & TV clips), I had to peak to the organizers to allow me to transfer. Lorma was the same cos she has to Ustream.
Was 2 mins to show start when we were allowed to transfer. Thank goodness cos we were able to do what we set out to do. Capture his pure amazingness 🙂

hello all.i just have to tell this story,pleas excuse the spelling .lol today the wife and i went to the mall ,i wase ther to buy dvd,s am transfering all me vids to dvd,s,all the ones from the phill. well on to the story i went to the radio shack and my wife went to the book store,i was fineshed firet and walked down to the book store and was looking in the window and say my wife went into the store and she was looking at books in this isle i said to her david likes thealchemist wonder where it is turned around and dam ther it was at eye level.i got it later this night i am watching tv and was thinking how funny that wase the book right there,and wastalking to her about it ,went back to my room and clicked on fod and low and beholed dvaud hade just twetted about the alchemist,,i my be crazy but i think god wants me to read it .makes you think doesn<t it

WELL!!!!! I NEVER–in my life have seen a more photogenic human being–it’s to the point where it’s beyond words–it’s ridiculous!!!
David even seems more relaxed and having fun in these photo shoots–not looking like “What do I do next?” He’s just going with the flow–where ever that goes—just moving around –lots of action-so the camera can capture different looks–not posed. LOVE–LOVE–IT!!!
I unearthed a T-shirt I bought about 2 years ago–that about says it all–
DAVID……A irresistible combination of puppies, bunnies, freshly cut grass, sunshine and testosterone.
Maybe puppies and bunnies don’t quite fit any more—but they’re so huggable. 😉

What we’ve seen happen in a mere month in the Philippines can surely serve as a future blueprint for how PR & marketing should be done in promoting an international star like David. It is not David that needed the changing but the types of music that were being in the forefront. After seeing what was presented at the Grammys opening and closing and in between, i think that I can safely say that David was before his time and they will be ready when he returns…After his time away, he won’t have to go far away again…well for shorter trips maybe, everyone does!

David & Kari should be getting ready to head back to the states or may already be in the air so I wanted to post the Prayer for David with a few additions to reflect our gratitude and our wish for David’s safe return.
Dear Lord,
Thank You for taking great care of David. For watching over him and protecting him from harm.
Thank you for surrounding him with your love and giving him strength to accomplish so much in such a short time.
Thank you for helping David rise up to the challenges he faced and the courage to say yes to those challenges and no to those he could not reasonably accomplish.
Thank you for surrounding him with people who respect, support and love David unconditionally and separating him from those with agendas other than for his well-being.
We pray David continues to have the stamina to sustain his hectic pace and will know to rest when he’s tired and weary.
Give David assurances that he is loved when he feels doubtful and unending joy as he has given so much joy to so many.
Keep him always safe in your protective arms as he makes his way back home to the U.S.
And please Lord, give us the wisdom to do right by David and help us in the way we support him so that it is always in his best interests.

Feeling a bit melancholy tonight as this awesome chapter comes to a close. Another chapter begins…but, alas, no JR, Lorms or Naree to document it for us, no nightly videos and pictures to go through, no mall shows or press conferences to anticipate, and no cryptic tweets to decipher, haha! (And yet we will all be a lot more rested!) We truly have been spoiled these past 5 weeks, and it was apparent through it all that David was doing it for the love of his fans. Thanks to everyone who made it possible for us all to be a part of this wonderful past month…that definitely includes you too, admins! When I look at that huge lighted poster it reminds me of the “law of attraction’. Back when we first became a fan base for David we all had wishes to see his face on a billboard. We knew he was deserving of whatever success that would make this possible. Some fans made mock magazine covers or billboards with David’s image to show us his future. We stayed strong and loyal to his career in music though all the long months after he left his “handlers”. It does my heart good to see how far he has come by being “just David”. But we knew that this was all that ever mattered to him. He has shown by example that being yourself brings the most success.

The send off video is so touching. Such a constant outpouring of love these past 5 weeks!…I hope David is able to take home all that love in his heart…and keep it there with him over the next 2 years.
I just LOVE this recent comment from David. It speaks volumes as to who this wonderful young man is..
“I’ve worked very hard for the last 4 years or so. To be able to come to where I am today… to be able to have the opportunities given – to record, to do shows, to provide for the fans – and it is also been my way of living, I mean it’s been my job, too. So to have to decide and leave all that is very hard. But I think this is something when you trust God. I don’t know what’s gonna happen in 2 years. I don’t know if I’m gonna have to start from scratch again. But I trust God. I have trusted Him so far and He has never let me down. I don’t want to let Him down cos this decision is for Him. So I trust that He knows my intention and He will provide a way when I get back, like He always has.”
It reminds me of one of my favorite verses from the Bible:

Kaycee, it breaks my heart to read those words from David “I don’t know if I’m gonna have to start from scratch again”.
Hoping that he has created a good foundation so that he doesn’t have to start from scratch.
God does help those who help themselfs.
A year hiatus would of been perfect, but two, I’m a little worried. Only worried about his career, not David personally. He will be just fine and have a fine life with whatever he chooses to do. I’m just hoping that his passion for a music career is even stronger in two years, IMO.

I go to the Somos El Mundo video almost everyday because I love David’s Spanish voice (Ok, I love his voice period!) and what I notice was that David always is commented on, I would say that he is one of the most commented on artist in that video and always very good comments.

David Archuleta comes home: David has been in the Philippines filming a soap series for TV5 in his very first acting gig and while he’s had a blast meeting his fans and working on new projects, he’s headed home to Utah to get ready for his mission with the Church of Ladder Day Saints. Before he leaves on his mission, David has been busting his behind to some new music recorded for his fans, since he will be gone for two years. He posted a new video blog and revealed his plans to record some music for us when he gets back to America. That video of he send off—brought many tears–I’m sure some of the words were changed for David–it sounded like it to me anyway.
Whoever that man was that talked to David–oh my–David was fighting back the tears–he was all choked up — maybe someone has a clue who it was–not that it makes any difference–but it sure touched David.

I was just coming here to write the following:
Can we all take a minute and discuss and appreciate the beautiful Wherever You Are?
Because it is so gorgeous. There is even a note that sounds suspiciously like the note or sound or whatever the heck he did in In This Moment. You know the thing I’m talking about.
This song is gorgeous and now there is a clear version. I just LOVE what David can do to a love song.
So yes, I cannot wait for this album to be released.

I want to send my heartfelt condolences to David and his family. Was sad to hear about his great grandmother. God Bless them and may they have peace in their hearts.
Don’t know how anyone could have a dry eye after watching the 2 videos above, one from the Philipinos and the other from Viet Nam. They are so heartwarming and sincere. So glad David went to both places and had such great treatment.♥
Hope David is trending worldwide. That is one thing I can’t help with…never got into the twitter thing! Hats off to you Blueberry Ice!!

Trending went well. David trended Worldwide, USA, Canada, New York, LosAngeles, San Francisco, Salt Lake City and a few other cities occasionally. It was very strong for two Hours.
Kari is good about telling David when he trends and we left her messages.
David has trended 4 days in a row now and Phillipines will be working on NanditoAko next.
I’m glad I joined twitter!! Probably won’t use it much once David is gone but glad the Fan Sites will be here.

Tonight was my first time tweeting except a couple of times yesterday to figure it out. lol It was fun seeing his name trend worl wide!
And I checked out the TV5 live feed and it worked!! Yay! Unless they block it, which I really hope they don’t, I think we should be able to see it. I can’t watch it as it airs, but bless them for having recordings of the last 4 hrs up to watch. So I can see it a little later … I think. *fingers crossed*
Whoo Hoo … tomorrow is the day!! Oh, and I just went to the site and saw the comercial with David for Nandito Ako. 🙂

I have seen in the programming of TV5, there will be a marathon Nandito Ako on Saturday from 21.30 hours. (Manila time)
My work starts right at the time of Nandito Ako, so will I see the chapters in the marathon on Saturday.

Yea!! for Heidijoy!! lol That is the greatest thing!! haha When I don’t even know the first thing about it. Actually, I tried to sign up for it and something wasn’t going right and I gave up. But every once in awhile I get an email that someone is following me and I wonder how that can be, when I don’t even twitter!!
Can’t you still make David trend even if he’s not around? Like “we love David Archleta” or “we miss David Archuleta”? That would keep him on the circuit for the 2 yrs he’s gone.
And last night on chat we were talking about wearing tee shirts that had 2014 on it and all the fans would know what it’s about and if we see someone with it on, we know they are a fan.
