A Masterpiece

When God created men
They were not all the same.
Each from a different palette
So many of them came
But every now and then
A special one is made,
Painted with touches of color
From the beauty that God gave.
From the dewy green of grass
He’s given him his eyes.
With the color of cherry blossoms
He painted lips to smile.
From the softly falling snow
He found the color for his teeth.
And for his skin, a special treat,
The dew and color of peach.
And from the blackness of the night
His locks of hair are hewn.
And then he gave him breath
So with golden voice he’d croon.
His heart was made with special care
From the garden of the rose.
In deepest red he fashioned it
With love and care and hope.
When giving him his inner light,
He reached into the sun.
He knew this one would shine so bright
He’d be known by everyone.
As he gazed upon this creature,
God knew he’d cast a spell.
He’d made this one a masterpiece.
He’d used his palette well.

David looks tired in his valentine’s vlog. I know he’s having fun and doing so much for us, but I hope he’s getting enough sleep. He’ll have to catch up on his 17 hr flight back home, I guess.

How spoiled have we been this past month!? I literally can’t stay on top of all the wonderful things going on in David’s life! I marvel at his ability to juggle it all. And, so many beautiful, heart-felt comments here that express the emotions all wrapped up inside of me. Thanks to all for keeping this site a warm and welcoming place to hang my “David hat.”

“You never know how long you are ever going to be able to do that”…spoken in part from the heart by David. The passing of such a magnificent singer as Whitney, has a significance to many musicians including David. I am guessing that he had received his group Valentine from FOD.
A great many musicians have so much extra to contend with in their lives that we would never know about but sometimes you can see it in their eyes and feel it in their voices.
MT, you certainly have a way with words that creates such lovely poems about David!

Loveliness up on top of this post, thanks both of you.
I would also like to comment on more loveliness, the music video of Nandito Ako. (no longer with us, but lovely.) David’s music has become part of the background of my life, often times the forground, as well. I just need to say this finished, professionally done version of the song was ethereal, haunting and was a “what was that?” ,moment for me. I think I am so used to hearing him with screams and OMGs it was a shocker, but also the quality in David’s voice was unique. The first few notes, I was truly a bit confused,,,, until I settled down into the bliss that only David can create for me. Just wow and thank you David.
Also thank you to all of you in the Philippines, who have worked so hard to make me feel I am along for the ride in David’s backpack. It has been an amazing gift to those of us that will miss him so while he is on his Mission.
So this a.m.,,, I am full of thanks! Happy Valentine’s Day!

Here we are in the feast of David, storing up as much as possible to prepare for the famine. We didn’t need Joseph in his dream coat to admonish the importance of the storing up. So many people doing so much to accomplish this.

I do believe that, like any work of art, David is a thing of beauty that we enjoy looking at from all perspectives, he makes us think, trying to figure out just what it is about him that makes him so special to us. But like any painting, it isn’t just one thing. It is the combination of MANY unique brush strokes that makes it so beautifully fascinating.

The composer of “Nandito Ako,” Aaron Paul del Rosario, sent an open letter to David Archuleta. Following are excerpts. Hear ye, hear ye Archie!
“First of all, thank you! There are so many beautiful Filipino songs and for you to sing mine is such a blessing. When you finished as a finalist in ‘American Idol,’ I always dreamt that one day you’d sing something I wrote. Now that it’s actually happening, I’m not even there in the Philippines to celebrate the occasion.
“I live in California so all I do is follow your tweets and fan sites to see how things are going. Oh, and of course, my publisher keeps me updated.
“I do hope that you still get to record the English version, ‘Forever With You.’ I say ‘version’ because it’s not a literal translation. I tweaked it a little bit. I know your schedule is tight but my publishers are still giving it a push, so I have my fingers crossed.
“Thanks, David, for making this songwriter’s dream come true and for being a part of the wonderful journey of my song ‘Nandito Ako.’ See you in two years!”

David told us he was not used to showing extreme emotion and that was something he had to push himself to do as an actor. Yet when he sings the emotion is very extreme.
Listening to him sing with others I am always amazed at how much his voice affects me in comparison to any other singer.

Bench Launch
Bench officially welcomes David Archuleta into their family of international celebrity endorsers this week.
The campaign launch will be this Friday, February 17, at 5pm PHT at the Ayala TriNoma Mall in Quezon City, Philippines. David will be signing his new photos for the Philippines’ leading clothing and lifestyle brand.
A billboard for Bench’s campaign with David will be put up in the next few days in Magallanes.

Dayzee, totally agree!! Not to take away from any other singers, cuz they can sing well, but David is able to make us FEEL while he sings. It just so happens that he also possesses the most beautiful voice in the world, so it’s a double whammy! And everybody else just pales in comparison.

I’m with the no one does it for me like “The Voice” camp. It doesn’t matter what he is singing. There is that something in his voice that must come directly from the heavens because even his speaking voice stops me cold.

I’ve marvelled, also, at how much David’s voice is so very different from anyone else’s. I can hear and feel his voice so distinctly when he is singing with others. His harmony is perfect, and his voice is so soft and tender, and yet so powerful. He just has what no one else does. No words can describe it. ♥♪♥♫

Chills and goosebumps while listening to the trio sing Nandito Ako. If I didn’t know David, after seeing him in this performance my reaction would still be chills and goosebumps. David takes the song to new heights and brings it out of this stratosphere!
Like dja said, he is so humble. In his tweet he thanked Ogie and Regina for having him but they seemed thrilled beyond all reason to have him on stage with them. Wish I could understand what they said about him in Tagalog at the end of the song after he left the stage.
David owns Nandito Ako, hands down.
I’m so moved at the amount of respect for David. The writer of NA is still pushing for David to sing the English version and he’s been a fan since AI!

Bebe, I just don’t get it at all.never will. I was curious when David made mention in a recent interview that he had been approached before (about acting) but didn’t ever feel comfortable or have interest at the time? something like that?.
I occasionally wonder about that, since he said it!
Perhaps, there were offers that came Davids way, that he chose not to do, or did not feel comfortable doing,here in the U.S.Its something we would never have known about, but its hard to believe if we see the IT David has, and the Filipino people see the IT , and David’s fans from all over the world see the IT then people that are schooled in the IT business d- -m well know!!

Ok, MT…your awesome poem inspired the poetic child in me, haha! I work at an elementary school all day, so my Valentine ramblings have a bit more “elementary” flair! Valentine parties all day will do that to you! Hey, and I even stuck with the color theme (somewhat)! I shall title it…”A Valentine Ode to David”!
Roses are red, violets are blue…what joy you inspire by just being you.
Sunshine is yellow and storm clouds are gray…but your smile and your laugh brighten any dark day.
Sunsets are orange and stars twinkle white…you lift us all up with your bright inner light.
Emeralds are green, and diamonds just shine…when you sing us a song, everything feels just fine.
And shifting gears a bit…
Trail mix is crunchy and Thai food just rules…your charming good looks turn us all into fools!
Nemo is fishy and sharpies are black…that strong auchgaze might just cause an attack!
Oars can be scary and shorts are quite rare…but watch out for the scissors when it comes to your hair!
Bunny suits are funny and one-armed hugs are the way…dear David we love you…Happy Valentine’s Day!

36 video….just wow. David really is in a league of his own…his voice just gives me chills even when he is singing with other good singers, his voice just soars. People flip out over Adele’s voice (who I love)…but seriously people in the states need to hear David live in a big way when he gets back from his mission. Hopefully by then nicki manaj and others who use distractions when they perform will be just a memory. That will be my prayer for the next 2 years!! :). And yes David owns NA…and soon 9 other songs…lol

Ogie Alcasid has given his blessing to David. The small gesture of bowing to David, when he was singing his song, recognized that Nandito ako, now has another owner.
We all know that when David sings songs of others, he is the absolute master.
Ogie Alcasid is the first of a long list of original singers, who has realized that his song in the voice of David can reach the stratosphere and still rising.
David never needed a crown to be king, he is our prince.

I don’t know how to bring this over…..go to FanScene and there is an updated account of David’s presscon that is going on right now. You can click onto some of the songs on “Forevermore” (this song is will be the 1st single and David shot the video for it last night). The songs are so beautiful. I can’t listen to any of these without sobbing….can only imagine what it will feel like, hearing David sing these songs for the 1st time! On this Valentine’s Day, we awoke, feeling an enormous joy, seeing David sing with Regine and Ogie….and now this special day ends with David’s love, continuing to flow to us. It doesn’t matter where we are, where we live…..David is with us all and we are the most blessed fans ever, not only because of his marvelous voice, but equally because of who he is and how he lives.

#78 that looks like the live stream of the tv5 trade show that kari tweeted about. wonder if david has appeared yet.
tv stations hold such trade shows regularly to publicize their program line-up for the coming months. guests are advertisers, program sponsors, other business partners and the press. excerpts from the new programs will be shown to interest advertisers in buying air-time or sponsoring the programs and so that reporters can write about the shows.
stars from the station usually come out to mingle, be interviewed and some of them would perform. so maybe we’ll see david sing.

Yes, perhaps more unusual things happen besides someone leaving at the beginning of a successful career for a two year hiatus and that is a 23 year old singer who has just won 6 Grammys going on hiatus for 5 years to work on a relationship. Two years seems shorter now for some reason.

I caught some of the UStream around midnight EST. David was not on stage for the Nandito Ako promo. It lasted about 3 min. 3 cast members came out and spoke in Tagalog about the premier of the show. i think David was doing the OPM press con at that time.

Continuing my discussion with Ivory execs re availability of Forevermore to international fans, I got clarification about how they can be best delivered outside the Philippines.
As initial discussions have been made and several communications exchanged among admins of fansites. Archuleta Philippines has taken the helm of this concerted project for a more streamlined cascading. So always watch out for AP announcements 🙂
Ivory Music & Video is the exclusive licensee and distrbutor of Sony Music products (e.g. Forevermore) and from which Astroplus, Odyssey, CDWOW and other music/online stores get their inventory.
Am so excited for this all-English OPM project, which David worked so hard for, given the limited time he has. The guy will do anything for his Archies, as you will hear from the presscon videos I will post later.

I just finished watching the 8 presscon videos and my heart is exploding with such pride and admiration. So willing to share his thoughts and feelings on so many subjects. He looks so at peace with everything he’s been able to accomplish. So many times mentioning he’s leaving this for the fans and that he knows his fans will find a way to have what he’s leaving for us lol. It’s obvious to me that David is “owning us” now and recognizing he has us. That we will be here waiting for him. I don’t know how much more he’s planning to do when he gets back to the states but I’m am really curious 🙂

Read the help page thoroughly before you uninstall? It might make a difference in the library of videos on that program. Don’t want to lose them. Usually when a program stops working , its due to a file being corrupted. A fresh install should fix that.

I can’t go another minute without thanking everyone who had a hand in bringing us all the wonderful videos-pictures-posts and every other little minute detail of David’s visit to the Philippines. From the greeting at the airport, when he arrived, it has been nonstop. I can’t begin to mention all the Filipino fans, who have shared so much with us. From the video takers—picture takers– to the dedicated fans who turned out for all his appearances—to all the people he worked with – a huge standing “O”!! I can’t imagine what a world of hurt, we over here, would have been in –if it were not for your sharing.
And to our marvelous administration for all the hours and sleep loss you have so generously given to us. You are one FANtastic bunch of coconuts. And I am deeply grateful.
When David’s book was due to come out and we got a sneak peek at the jacket—I said I didn’t care if there was nothing inside the book but squiggly pigs and stick men—I’d buy the book just for the cover. Well, I feel the same about the mini-series—we have been blessed with so much that has come about because of the filming—that seeing the finished product will be the cherry on top of a mile high sundae. It could just be David reading Shakespeare and I’d gobble it up.
Now that I’m not two blocks behind everyone else, maybe I can post and be current.
OH, and ya I’ve had the oxygen out several times , not to mention several 911 calls I’ve had to make–there is no mercy.

Been thinking lately ( dangerous) about how those acting lessons helped David be more relaxed around girls and not be awkward, just be himself and relaxed. I think he also discovered that he CAN touch a girl and give two arm hugs and not be struck by a bolt of lightening from above. It is acceptable. 😉

Dakgal, you brought up a good point about David. I too, sometimes feel like his self imposed strict moral values has kept him very closed, of course, not when he is on stage singing. So glad that this acting gig has opened him up and he seems so much more comfortable in his own skin. Big fan of David always, but I love the new 21 year old adult David.

David’s values led him to where he was when we met him four years ago and David’s values are what have made him so very unique and special to so many worldwide. Why they chose so much family violence, carried out all the whacks, the slaps, the shoving, crying, blaming, discord and accusations, I will never know. He could have been portrayed as a hero, but then that would not have been such a sharp contrast and would not have been so alarming to the viewers which is what they must have wanted for him.
I am not looking for explanations, to be corrected, as the premiere tells all and I can’t wait to have David in view again as David, especially where the time now is short. I am so pleased that SnowAngelz brought us back to his concerts, TY SA!

I read the same about Adele, that she’s taking a five-year hiatus from her career to concentrate on her relationship. That news broke immediately after she received six Grammy Awards last week.
Speaking of Grammys, Sunny Hilden tweeted that she bought David a ticket to this year’s Grammy Awards
ceremony for his 21st birthday. Of course he couldn’t attend due to his trip to The Philippines.

“Nandito Ako” miniseries is high drama, full of passion and emotion. I guess it’s just the nature of the species.
I keep seeing the Forevermore presscon interviews in my head well after watching them. No question rattled David; he was full of poise and conviction.

Oh Bebe, I know it is high drama full of whacking and slapping at least that is what is highlighted in the premiere. Some people are just not enjoying that kind of drama and that can be expected. I think I read a statement that the slap first put on David could be heard around the world by his fans. The very first scene reported was the scene on the stairs where David was slapped. You see it is so far from being David with the physical acts, that it becomes sensational.
But that is one opinion and we all have our own like different religions, different political views.

Yeah.. um I have watched a few S. Korean movies with my son who went there and knows the language. The humor and drama are different. I quite enjoyed them after I got more used to the style. I don’t know how this will be for me with NA. Love the song to pieces. I am trusting DA that the story line as he says, is in the end about family values and closeness. I guess I will have to wait and see how it plays out for me.
I posted earlier that I feel like a type of Rip Van Winkle who wakes up after 10 years (in this case) and find that DA has completed so many things in one month that I think I am in a time warp.

So, my dear DA: How did you decide all this? How are you going to be with it? Some one has seen an opportunity (that many fans thought was a slam dunk) and offered it to you and you have considered and taken it.
On the one hand… I love that you are going to get more exposure. That your name and face will be more well known. I believe that will perhaps lead to more people listening to your music and perhaps opening doors for you in the future. I guess I feel like the mom who encourages the child to step out, to try new things. And then the child does and I want to say, “Wait!!! Are you sure that is what you want? Are you sure you know what you are doing? Are you sure you have thought this through thoroughly?”
Somehow, DA… waiting (musical puns aside) is not in the timing right now. I bow to your own right to decide to try these things and deal with what happens. How ever many grey hairs it may add to my already ‘frosted flake’ appearance. I love looking at pictures of you. So… but… and… but… Well, anyway. It is your face after all. And a very lovely one. May it bring others to love you as we do, along with those qualities that make you shine more than the lights on any stage. And may these new endeavors bring you growth, experience, ultimate peace and joy.

My e-mail to Astro was similar although I mentioned being in Canada and about paying with Visa or Paypal. I received an instant reply which is obviously generic as it is identical to Abrra’s. Guess they will follow up when they can give more details.
Sure hope this is the answer to obtaining copies of what will no doubt be an outstanding album — another David treasure.

David has been cramming 2 year’s worth of work into whatever time he has before he has to go. Doing it for fans, fun and profit (and I’m all for profit!).
My thoughts have been that he’ll be gone for 2 years in which he won’t be able to generate a livelihood. So I’m good with whatever opportunity comes his way and he goes for it. The music part, of course is for us fans, and I love that. The miniseries was a chance to try something new-acting, and I’m glad he had a blast doing it. I have to agree with Poof and Angelica, because I’m having the time of my life following everything happening with David.
He’s kind of like superman…Faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. Well maybe not leap tall buildings, but what about that leap against one. 🙂 Looks to me like he has become comfortable his own skin and is feeling great about all the positive growth he is experiencing. I couldn’t be more proud of him!
Bring it all on!!! I can’t wait to see Nandito Ako and everything else he is leaving us. And may I just say I might need the paddles, so whoever had them last, could you pass them my way? This Bench and FIX shoot may just cause some real damage to my heart!
