Join David, Eula Caballero, Jasmine Curtis-Smith and the cast of “Nandito Ako” on set as they film Josh Bradley’s concert scene this Friday, February 3, at the Tanghalang Pasigueno. Crowd participants can bring concert paraphernalia such as glow sticks, posters and banners provided posters/banners make use of the name “Josh Bradley”, not “David Archuleta.”

Grand Fans Day at SM Megamall Cinema 4 in Mandaluyong City, Philippines, this Saturday, February 4 at 12pm PHT.See David and his “Nandito Ako” co-stars Eula Caballero and Jasmine Curtis-Smith. Only 500 tickets will be distributed for the Grand Fans Day.

David Archuleta is headed to Singapore this weekend! This Sunday, February 5th, David will be doing an in-store signing session for The Other Side of Down-ATE at HMV Marina Square, starting at 3.30pm SGT.

I imagine for most of the people David has been working with these past few weeks that this is the first time they had seen the transformation of David/SuperDavid that occurs when David steps on the stage. Wouldn’t it have been fun to witness that?
SB mentions how the memory of concerts attended still excites us. Just the thought of the power of David on the stage is so great it gets our pulses racing. Even though we cannot attend the “upcoming events” that Angelica has listed for us, we are still excited for those who will be there.

With all the over the top tweets about the concert, I can’t wait to see the finished product! I knew that he wouldn’t disappoint…but it sounds like he did what he does best…surpass even the loftiest of expectations. I bet it felt great for him to get back up on the concert stage doing what he loves the most–music. I’m so excited for David and all the wonderful experiences he has had the past 3 weeks. I can’t believe it’s over. I’m sure his body could use a bit of R&R…haha, I know I could! Now…about those recording sessions…(sorry, David…take all the time you need!)
What a surreal experience for David to go from super-celebrity, his every move cheered and cherished, autographs, pictures, tons of fans…to relative anonymity on his mission. So many interesting life lessons for someone so young…and yet, someone who appreciates and embraces every step of growth along the way.

want me to share some behind-the-scenes moments? Lol I wrote it down since I can’t keep track of the things he does off cam. Haha
He turned his back from the audience, so we’re seeing “his sexy back”, a lot of girls squealed and stuff. Then some clapped.
He faced us and said, “Why are you clapping?” haha man that was epic. His voice’s still echoing in my head.
He kept on whistling the song Rainbow. One sexy moment there.
Another funny moment: the prod. peeps were fast forward-ing the song Wherever You Are so twas making a sorta squeaky sound.
Then he heard it. And mimicked the way it was played. He was all, “the wind that blows blaaah..”
Well, it doesn’t sound funny here but there, all of us were lmao-ing. HE. WAS. SO. CUTE. He keeps on rocking his chair, back and forth.
I’m flooding again. I’m sorry. I think it’s time for the fangirl to hit the hay.

Sponsored Children in Philippines Meet David Archuleta

Children in ChildFund Philippines’ programs and a few of their school peers received a special treat last Sunday when David Archuleta made a surprise appearance at a ChildFund gathering held at a local school.
Children from the Teatro Bu-bot [arm-in-arm] Children’s Advocacy Theater had prepared all week to mount their much-touted “Many Faces of Poverty” performance for ChildFund Philippines National Director Katherine Manik, and her unspecified guest.
Little did they know that the special guest would turn out to be none other than recording artist David Archuleta, who is in the Philippines filming a television miniseries.
Archuleta, now 22, who finished runner up in the seventh season of American Idol in 2008, teamed with ChildFund for his 2011 My Kind of Christmas tour. He is also sponsoring a child from Honduras, his mother’s native country.
Archuleta has developed a large fan base in the Philippines since his American Idol debut and through his three previous visits to Manila. Filipinos are highly anticipating the upcoming miniseries Nandito Ako, starring Archuleta and local talents.
His unannounced appearance on Sunday caught the children by surprise. Thrilled and starstruck, the children quickly recovered to deliver the program they’d prepared.
Archuleta fell silent during the troupe’s simple performance, which the children themselves conceptualized, articulating the different faces that poverty and disadvantage assumes in their community. The 10-minute skit is wordless, preferring to describe exploitation, vice and neglect through music, movement and expressive dance.
Masks partially obscure each of their faces as they depict society’s fevers, which are shed finally through the expression of children’s growing cognizance and assertion of their rights and responsibilities. The skit illustrates how children, their community and ChildFund help foster an environment conducive to the totality of each child’s life and identity.
Moved by the performance that he described as “amazing” and “powerful,” Archuleta took the floor in turn, regaling the children with an a capella rendition of Simon and Garfunkel’s “Bridge over Troubled Water,” followed by an encore of Robbie Williams’ “Angels.”
Archuleta then spent time meeting the children in small groups. Though he currently sponsors a child in Honduras, Sunday’s gathering was the first time Archuleta had the opportunity to interact with children in ChildFund’s programs.
The theater troupe, sponsored children and even the school’s marching band had time to ask Archuleta questions and share stories of what sponsorship means to them.
With translation assistance by ChildFund Philippines Program Director Mark Dasco, sponsored children told Archuleta: “Please help us share the privilege of sponsorship with others, by inviting more people to sponsor [children].”
As the event came to an end, many children said they would long remember this exciting day. As he departed, Archuleta expressed his happiness at meeting the children: “Gosh, I feel so good today! Thank you so much for this experience!”

The people that im looking forward to see when I wake up, and the people that shared laughter’s with me even in just small span of time. The pain that everyone is going through now will make us stronger though, the bond will never be forgotten by everyone. We hope that its not a “mini-series” anymore so we can still shoot for a long time and stay together for a long time but not. We just hope that you all will enjoy Nandito Ako. We’ve worked so hard and we’re hoping that all our sacrifices will be replaced by your support!
Its David’s first acting project so im looking forward for the support for him. All the Archies will be proud of him even more. You made the right decision to support him because he is really a good man and really cares for you guys.

Watching the preview with David was the ultimate for me! It was beyond my expectations…which is always the case with David…he never fails!! I think that I feel the way we do after an incredible concert experience and we were given unexpected surprises. The love he was feeling was partly from his new relationships and the closeness he feels with such a project. He adores his co-stars.
Well this has been a good reason to be up in the middle of the night, fabulous actually and hey you were nearly all here!!!
We have witnessed another one of his firsts or maybe more than one. Great hugs!!

That song. How does he he do it?…touch your heart so deeply…transform you to a different place…bring you to tears…when he, himself has been going non-stop for 24 hours or so! An intense 24 hours, being pulled in a hundred different directions…the big concert, the Grand Fans Day, the presscon, the taping for Talentadon Pinoy, M&Gs, signings, good byes…and all this after very early mornings, very longs days, and very late nights taping for the show!…and then he’s right on to Singapore! I don’t know how he is holding it together! I’m barely holding it together, and all I had to do was sit at the computer! How does he find the emotional and physical strength to step out of the craziness and sing LIKE THAT!? I guess it’s all about love–the love he feels from the fans…and for the fans. Hmmmm, to quote a cheesy song from the 70’s: “Love Will Keep Us Together”!… perhaps that is what is keeping him going (because there is definitely an abundance of that)!
Abrra, you’re amazing.
Silverfox, I miss your prayer in behalf of our very busy, always giving boy. May God’s blessings be upon you, David, watching over you and giving you the strength you need.

Just got home today, completely stunned at what I am seeing. That trailer….where do I start, uuummmm, the bunny suit maybe…or how bout Josh taking a swing… or getting taken out by a motorcycle… or those tender, vulnerable glances… or maybe the beach scene in shorts… the concert Josh, oh my…. and then there’s angry Josh, tearful Josh…. the hugging, embracing, brushing of costars cheeks Josh….aye-yi-yi David.
He really has acting chops, and it excites me to no end to hear him talk about how much he enjoyed it and really wants to do more.
And then I watched David in the 42 min video in #173 and the 11 min video on mjsblog. His sincerity and appreciation of the filipino’s and their warmth and their culture, his charm – so well spoken, his humility, humor, playfulness, his acknowledgement of the unexpected personal growth from this experience (growth that we can already see), talking about the timing of this right before he leaves – that it was “exactly what I needed”, the shots of him and the girls during the trailer (he looks so happy, so proud), all the tears after, the kinship and caring, a real affinity. And then he sang Nandito Ako… brought me to tears, made my heart just ache….. no idea of the meaning of the words, but I understood the emotion of the song. David, Paula was dead on 4 years ago, you are ridiculous.
I will wait a lifetime of tomorrows David.

From the first time I witnessed his unexplainable transformation on stage, I knew he would realize someday that acting would be in his future and that he would love it and be VERY GOOD and eventually GREAT at it. It’s only a matter of time before we see David on the BIG SCREEN. His acting skills will soon match his considerable ability to sing anything in any language like no other. His photo should be used in dictionaries to describe the meaning of “MAGNIFICENT”.
My only regret is that David’s acting potential was recognized first by the Sony Asia & TV5 people who acted wisely on their hunch about David. And they hit the jackpot when David was very willing to do things he has never done before and step WAY out of his comfort zone. But truthfully, I would have preferred that David have his first real acting experience here in the US, no offense to the wise & wonderful Filipinos. The industry honchos here have had blinders on where David is concerned. It’s confusing and sad that David is not been widely recognized for the immense talent he is here in his own country. Major US labels & management agencies should be promising him the moon & bowing down to him just to get him to sign with them. Pursuing him during his MKOC Tour was a little too late since David already had a different path in mind. I hope, actually I KNOW David is being observed now by movie industry VIPs. My fervent wish is that there will be projects proposed to David when he returns from his mission. Which brings me to another thought…
TV5 has gone above & beyond in promoting David and Nandito Ako. The Filipino fans have also done a super job in supporting David and treating him like the Star he is. I’m amazed but not surprised at the depth of their love & admiration for David. Because of all the media promotion and their support, David has risen to another level, not only personally but professionally as well. My concern and question is, where can David go now on his Mission? Where in the world will he be able to ride a bike as if he were just another ordinary young Missionary? In fact, I believe David is surprised at the positive response he has received doing Nandito Ako. He may not have counted on all the media attention he has received & will continue to receive especially as the series progresses. He is NOT Josh Bradley. He is David Archuleta, Singer, Song-writer, Author & Actor. He is a beloved International Artist and he must own it. I hope & pray he & the church officials will make whatever adjustments are needed to assure David’s well-being and safe return.

Anya to David: “Didn’t I tell you not to come out! Holly’s gonna kill me if she finds out something happened to you!
Fight scene. David punches a guy and the guy hit him back with a boat paddle. (That explains the bandage).
Anya to Josh: “Holly loves you”.
Holly to Josh: “I just have a question for you.”
Nandito Ako. I am of those who think that david should succeed in his own country, then be recognized worldwide.
The best kept secret (pop) has already been discovered by the Filipinos. I pray that the following findings, (about David) are made in America.

I can’t help but feel fate, destiny, karma, call it what you will, might have had a play here… the locale, the timing… for reasons we don’t yet understand.
He took a quantum leap out of his comfort zone, but in a place where he feels unconditional love and acceptance. A place that gives him the best chance for success in his first true acting venture. I couldn’t ask for anything more. I loved it when he said, “this is exactly what I needed” at this time in his life.
I too have had concerns from the time he made his announcement and agree that they are now magnified.

Judging by the trailer, I think David has delivered an amazing first effort. LOVE the bunny scene, and I can’t believe how realistic the fight scene is (Hey, I work in a high school–I’ve seen some good ones).
I’m delighted David took this opportunity off the radar of US critics who should have no reason to review a show either not aired or not widely aired in the US. I’m afraid I don’t have much (okay, any) respect for most of the entertainment/music industry in this country who just recycle the same tired stuff year after year with no appreciation for true talent. As I said before, many, many kudos to TV5 and Sony Philippines for offering David this opportunity and then supporting and promoting him. I hope they paid him a king’s ransom. I hope they have already lined up a movie or another series when he returns. I hope Nandito Ako is such a HUGE success for everyone that entertainment and media people in the US suck eggs-LOL! (Sorry y’all, I can’t always be like David)

I do not even know what to say. A newer, stronger, much more confident version of David has exploded into existence. He simply keeps growing hour by hour, day by day. I looked at the BTS outtakes with the acting workshop, he was all giggly and scooting back from close contact. Now, 3 weeks after you can find him casually and unscripted, placing his hands on the backs and waists of his costars. Especially Eula 😉
As an aside – there is a weirdly cute thing she does with her knees. One is always more forward than the other 🙂
I am in complete awe of his newly tapped talent in a new genre and will say once in as much as we think we know a lot about David talent-wise, it seems these past 4 years we have only scratched the surface.

YES! David has the uncanny ability to learn, absorb & master new things & ideas for his craft in a matter of weeks or months what takes other artists years.
So many fans are hoping David returns to Asia after his mission to pick up where he left off. Me? I am hoping the eyes, ears & mind have been opened by a VIP in the entertainment industry right here in the USA. Someone with the vision to see all that David has done starting with the MOTAB Concerts, to his MKOC tour and to the last month in Manila and will use that vision to give David his due the same way they have done in Manila & all of Asia. Someone who can see all that David has to offer as an artist. To have the vision to offer projects that only David could make seem easy & can pull off. To see David not only for his talent but for his work ethic and for always being completely professional.
We all know David can dance. How could he not? He is Latino after all. So I can see David perfecting his dancing skills next and perhaps someday star in a remake of say…
West Side Story or Grease with some subtle re-writes. He has shown he is willing to step out…wayyy out of his comfort zone with Nandito Ako and I believe when he returns from his mission, he will be ready to rise to new heights and proceed to blow away the entertainment industry!
My hope is that the momentum from his performances in his MKOC and Nandito Ako will not diminish and that his time away will fly as quickly as the live performances I’ve been privileged to attend. I have always excitedly anticipate his live performances just to think at the end that they were just not long enough and end way too quickly leaving this audiences wanting more & more.
Better yet, David WAIT, WAIT, DON’T GO!

As much as I love David’s own songs, these beautifully constructed pair of love songs fits his voice like a glove. In addition he even “davidized” them to the point that you would never know other artists first sang them. Its no wonder he re-recorded NA with “more heart”.
I believe this new ease/glide/swagger in his singing demeanor which we first glimpsed with AI Finale Apologize, has come about as a nice side benefit from the acting.
Per SF’s point – I can only hope upon his return he will maintain this standard of comfort and extend these new ventures.

It’s almost 8AM Monday morning where David is. Nothing scheduled today I think, so maybe David can rest or take in some site-seeing. Though I wouldn’t be surprised if he does something humanitarian, ninja-like as he’s been known to do.

My sleep has been thrown off…I just awoke from some sort of sleep, call it a nap I suppose….I am speechless and have been blown away by David and I am still tumbling around in some desert out there,haha…I went to church this morning and when we had a prayer I looked up and smiled and I don’t really know why. When we sang I got chocked up and when he gave the sermon I listened for any hint at how to understand better some things that I don’t understand.

MANILA, Philippines – He dressed so simply, moved so quietly, that fans nearly missed singer-songwriter and TV5 contract star David Archuleta when he left for Singapore early morning Sunday to take a quick break and meet his legion of fans in the Lion City.
His departure from NAIA Terminal 1 surprised passengers and some airport personnel who barely recognized the American Idol sensation as he arrived in a casual getup of jeans and green-and-black-striped round-neck T-shirt.
The 21-year-old star, who had been busy the past days taping for the TV5 miniseries “Nandito Ako”, and recording the theme song, checked in at the Singapore Airline business counter with his road manager and two Filipino assistants.
His Filipino road manager politely declined requests for photo ops and interviews with the young singer, who was looking tired after having only a few hours of sleep and an early morning airport call.
Only a handful of airport observers recognize the teen star, and after passing through the immigration formalities, he then excused himself and proceeded to the airport VIP departure lounge to freshen up.
By the time news broke of his impending departure, airport fans missed him entering the restricted Singapore Airlines lounge prior to his boarding the flight to Singapore.
But the singer, who wowed local fans with his flawless rendition of “Nandito Ako” in unaccented Tagalog, had a different tune: “I will be back” were the last words he uttered to security personnel manning the final security check prior to his boarding the flight.

Archuleta, who had three Manila visits prior to this one – the last of which was in July 2011 for a solo concert – had earlier signed up with the Kapatid Network to do a 3-week mini-series with local teen stars Eula Caballero and Jasmine Curtis.
Earlier, he met celebrity couple Regine Velasquez and singer Ogie Alcasid in a recording studio for the final recording session for his miniseries’ title song, “Nandito Ako (I Am Here)”, which was originally popularized by Alcasid.

My thoughts exactly. Much as I love having David in Asia, I fervently hope that he would one day make it really big in the US. That is where he needs to shine. The rest of the world would follow.
Nandito Ako is fun and a great first foray into acting. But with all due respect to David and the team, no sequel please. There should be no going back, only forwards to bigger projects that would allow him to hone his acting skills and realize his full potential as in that field.
If I heard the interviews correctly, he did say acting projectS – plural. So I hope someone in Hollywood is already in talks with him.
I look forward to the day when we can all say that’s David Archuleta, winner of Oscars, Grammys and Emmys; we knew he could do this from the moment we set eyes on him on American Idol.

Did you like the adaptation we made on Nandito Ako? By how David was moved, I think he really liked it so the AP guys are beaming w/ glee, LOL. Oh yeah we made DA cry, woo-hoo! We’re such sadists, LOL
Seriously, love how Kia adapted the lyrics of the song. I will also pen a proper (read not technical/computer-generated) lyrics for the original Nandito Ako song later.
Meanwhile I am still at it – uploading videos. Omyjosh, this is really an adventure. Extremely tiring but completely fulfilling.
Will soon share BTS stories. ABANGAN – anyone knows what that means by now? 🙂

I wasn’t going to but stayed up late again last night for the Singapore signings. David is running me ragged. LOL I came in on the Ustream when he was almost finished signing. After he finished he got up from his seat and there were a crowd of fans waiting for him outside the store. All held up cameras so as not to forget the moment. They had time for a few questions and the first comment had to do with David’s mission and how he will keep in touch with his fans. That’s what fans in any location have on their minds. After he answered several questions, all the fans wanted was to hear him sing. He wanted to please them and asked what they wanted to hear. He sang “Wait” and “SBL”. A capella. Off the cuff. Glorious.
It all comes back to his voice, doesn’t it? There’s something so magical about it. The notes he reaches make you feel good. It’s as simple as that. I still don’t know how it’s possible. I’ve heard nice voices before but there is something about the quality of Davids’ voice whether singing or speaking that soothes, calms and keeps you wanting more. In fact, once it grabs you, it sucks you in and it leaves you with no choice but to crave it, forever.

I know I’m terribly behind, but I finally found time to watch the whole Q&A TV5 Presscon. David did such a wonderful job answering the questions, and was so gracious and well-spoken. He’s becoming a real pro. It was fun to see him so excited about acting and interested in future opportunities. Some of my favorite (and very telling) comments:

Krbdavid1…I watched him as he turned to sing and when he had finished they clapped, all but one…but dang we can’t even go and check that out. But it was Jasmine I believe, then she came forward with the others. He definately did have the closest physical connection with her I believe but each to his /her own ideas on that! Anyway one looks at it, it was quite fine. Take all of the memories with you David and you will need quite a few to cover the time away. To me all of this leading up to his departure is like a very highly unusual dream, but the dream sequence is not over yet.

Regarding video at comment #265…Look Around is song number 96 at the 1:06 mark. At the 8 minute mark there is a song called Jump that is advertised as one of David’s, it comes in right after Save The Day. I was just wondering if anyone else knew about that song, and is it your opinion that it is a David song?

I don’t think there is too much to consider in that video. To me it seems like something made up by a person who thought they had a ” clever” idea. Save the Day is David’s voice. But if you notice when “Jump” comes on, they used his CD cover again. No such song to my knowledge, nor does it sound like David. I don’t have access to hear it from work but I think there was auto tune effects. We all know he doesn’t like that. It’s a hack job in my opinion. Many try to get hits to their videos by using famous artists material, yet they are usually promoting some cover they did. I suspect that Jump is sneaked in there for some reason like that.

David dressed in the bunny suit for Nandito Ako reminds me of the time he was photographed sitting all wrapped up in a snuggly blanket on the set of AI. He looked cute as a bunny then – all warm and fuzzy!! And dreaming? Of rabbits? We do know his dreams come true.
Wonder if a stunt double was used to film the actual falling-down part of the rabbit scene? Can’t mess with David’s “hare!”

The Nandito Ako performance at the Talentadong Pinoy just boggled my puny little mind. (283) He was so classy, gorgeous and poised, and that was just looking at him! I think every aspect of this performance is just one of his best ever. The TV5 tape added to it too, the camera work, quieting down the screaming and the great shots of the audience. That look on their faces is certainly universal; pure delight!
I don’t know how he is keeping up with all he is doing, but I sure am enjoying it!
