For Marius

Posted by djafan on Thursday, September 29, 2011

Dasianu Marius Vasile

All of you were so generous with your gifts and donations of money for the Arizona event, we had money left over.  Thank you so MUCH!!!  Here is the link to  I encourage you to go there and read about this truly remarkable young man who has endured so much, with a strength of spirit beyond my capacity to even comprehend.  Here is the letter I will send with the money order today.

We really are so blessed, not only to be a David fan, but for all that we have.

David Archuleta fans are one of a kind. It’s been great hearing about those that put in a sase in there gift or letter to David and it’s no surprise that he is responding, some responses he mailed from Arizona! It’s no wonder I’m his fan 🙂

The video where he tells of Marius.

  2. This is wonderful! Perfect thing to do with the extra money taken in.

Totally agree with Djafan and ArchieFanDoc-FanScene/AFAC
What a nice thing to do, can’t complain is right!!! 🙂

Once again, I want to give my appreciation and heartfelt thanks to Djafan, SandyBeaches and last but not least to SweetonDA for their efforts in making the AZ event happen and thus for being able to give this donation to Marius on behalf of David.

David does have the best fans in the world! 😀

    Have a great day everyone!

Very worthy cause. The organization is also very good about sending thanks on behalf of Marius.

Thank you Djfan,SandyBeaches,SweetonDA and Angelica for all that you did for David, his fans and now Marius.

Thanks for letting us know and making such a great decision. Treasure my note from David.

Marius has an inner light that shines, much like the the glow we see in David. Something greater than both of them brought them together in LA. We will never know the conversation that took place, but I know that both David and Marius were left richer in their belief in the human race. Reading his story humbles me and reminds me about what is important in life.

I have sent Marius a message, you can too!

I watched you transform this post from a “just the facts, mam” information blog, to a beautiful tribute to Marius. Your eye for art is stunning and shows the depth of your caring concern for this beautiful boy. You have showcased his plight in a most dignified way.

“We really are so blessed, not only to be a David fan, but for all that we have.”
    So absolutely true♥
Love what you have done, thank you…and your letter to go with the donation is just perfect♥

1.Dja, thanks for posting that video
I love when David speaks of Marius and his ‘really bright light” and the spirit of this brave, amazing young boy, beginning at 3:52. just one of the many reasons I love him so much. His ability to see that in others, always.
It’s why we are drawn to you, like a moth to a flame,Mr. Archuleta…because of your light, and your spirit!)

So grateful to you for expiditing the donations to Marius. Thanks for all your efforts.

Yayyyy!!! Got my Abravanel Hall tix!!!

Tawna–How did you know I was mortgaging my home? When I first saw David in person (LV AI Tour) I told my grandkids I was selling my home and following David. They were all supportive but refused to subsidize my wanderings.

Kaycee–Making plans for Cedar City. Hope to see you there.

  12. bebereader said

Angelica, Hope you had an enjoyable birthday!

    Dayzee, Congrats on your tickets!

Was busy with family yesterday. For the next ten days is a holiday that we celebrate, Rosh Hashanah, the beginning of a new year for those of the Jewish faith. So, Happy Rosh Hashanah to anyone here who celebrates! I cooked and cooked and ate and ate. haha It’s good to spend quality holiday time with family and friends.

I nearly cried when I saw this post about Marius. I knew it was coming but seeing it in print and all…David will be so happy that his fans donated any funds that were left from AZ to this good cause.

Great to see some new shows added to the “My Kind of Christmas” Tour but was shocked that there are still none for the midwest and the south! Don’t give up. It still says on the bottom of the list “More dates to be announced”.

I guess it should come as no surprise that the Westbury VIP is already SOLD OUT, but so fast! “Dec 1 (THU), 8pm: Theatre at Westbury, Westbury, NY, regular tickets on sale Sep 30 / VIP sold out”.

    WTG David!

  13. tawna21 said

Got my tickets! 🙂 FYI you can only get 4 pkgs at one time. I had to do mine in a groups of 3 and 2. Then I had to use 2 different cards cause my card didn’t like that much activity on it at once. Whew! I’m done, breathing again, and off to re-finance my house before I go grocery shopping. LOL

  14. sweetonDA said

Thank you for this wonderful post Angelica, and another thank you to all the fans who were so generous with their donations. It’s nice to be able to have such a great charity to give the extra funds to. Yes, Bebe, David would be so proud.

Congratulations Tawna on getting your tickets, and everyone else who is fortunate enough to get to see David in concert at Christmas time. It’s going to be magical. I’m still trying to work out a way to make it to Anaheim, but it would have to take a miracle.

  15. marciami said

Thank you for the touching post Angelica, and to those who helped to make the thoughtful gift to Marius. David would be so happy to know that fans want to share what they have with someone in need – to let Marius know that his is not alone or forgotten. I remember David saying somewhere that he could see the light in Marius’s eyes. I think David has that same light of hope and faith and joy in being alive.

  16. Heidijoy said

Got my Abravanel Hall tix too!!Dayzee. Hope to meet some of you there. Tawna it sounds like you had an interesting experience too. I kept getting rejected and after numerous attempts, three phone calls, a call to the bank etc. The staff took my order on the phone and found there was something wrong in their system with my address. I have e-mail confirmation and am excited. Still hoping for something in the Midwest etc. Maybe Novemeber would be a good place to add more ha!ha! Never too early to start a Christmas Tour.

  17. KathyH said

I’d go tomorrow if he came to the Midwest, Heidi! 🙂

  18. Freo said

Fingers crossed for Midwest stop if they are driving to ID from PA. I’ve heard there’s a lot of factors that go into making a booking. I have a feeling that a Midwest stop would sell out quickly.

  19. tawna21 said

Yay! Heidijoy, I can’t wait to meet you! I don’t know about you, but when those red words pop up about being rejected I go into a cold sweat and stop breathing. Fortunately, I didn’t have to make any phone calls. Oh, the things we go thru to be around the people we have grown to love (sight-unseen), and to be in the presence of a young man who has brought changes into all of our lives. Life could be really boring without all of this.

Freo, I can guarantee a Midwest stop would sell out quickly. I wonder why there isn’t a venue available for them to book? Or maybe the venues charge too much. I wondered about November, also,Heidijoy. Hmmm, lots of questions about it that we obviously don’t have the answers for. We are all still hoping for you. ♥

Hey, we made it thru the grocery shopping and didn’t have to turn to the guy behind us for a loan. LOL (you all know I’m joking here, I hope) 🙂

  21. marciami said

    Dear Admins –
First, thanks for all your dedication and hard work for The Voice. I am wondering if you have thought about making a place for people here to talk about the MKOC tour – tickets, gatherings, transportation, hotels, etc. It is so hard to coordinate these venues and I think it would be really helpful. Especially for those New Yorkers to help those who don’t know all the secrets!

  22. Heidijoy said

Yes Tawna, I hate that red flag and the clock to the right that gives you 10 minutes. David’s tweet fits with that ticket buying procedure and trying to get a Midwest show.(Freo and Kathy H)ha! ha!

  23. tawna21 said

When I click into this post, the first thing I see (after the title) is Marius’ face from the nose up to his blue eyes. My gosh, those eyes are gorgeous. Just look at the light and sparkle in them, and you can see what David saw in him. There IS light and spirit in this sweet boy.♥

Thanks again, Angelica, for doing what you did for him.

    Marciami #21–good idea. imho

  24. fewwords said

It was wonderful that you donated the extra money from Arizona to Marius. I know that it would make David so very honored that you did that in his name 🙂

My hopes for a midwest show are fading but I’m thankful I got to see David last Ft.Wayne. Singing his heart out in the freezing cold and looking extra glowy & snazzy too (fingerless gloves FTW!)

I was also able to shake his lyrical hand , yes that one right there in the left pic;) & thank him for sharing his music and voice with the world.(sigh)

Wouldn’t it be awesome if he gets to do one of the morning shows in New York while he is there? (Regis & Kelly would be great!)

and yeah, I love this site (back to lurk mode)

  25. sweetonDA said

Yeah, I was able to work it out and I’m going to the Anaheim show with my two sisters, but not VIP. Got my tickets already.

All Access presale tickets available now. Code: “GLAD” for anyone who wants to get tickets today instead of tomorrow. I got the Dinner tickets in Tier 2 almost dead center. Can I say Yiiiiiiiiiiiiiiipppppppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who else is going to the Anaheim show?

  26. gina said

wow sweetonda, i’m so happy you are able to work it out! good for you (and your sisters too)…i’m going to sta. rosa vip. i was able to recruit a co-worker to go with me (together with her two daughters), although they will just get the reg tickets.

Holy Moly, Betsy! What a find!

/bows to your ninja video finding skilz.

Give me a few minutes to edit this video down for use in Unplugged and for an MP3 of the duet.

  29. sweetonDA said

OMG, Betsy that is an amazing find. Thanks you!

Gina, thanks! I wish it could be VIP, but my sisters aren’t ODD like me and wouldn’t spend that kind of money on them, but I’m just stoked that I can actually hear him sing those wonderful Christmas songs. I’m turning it into my birthday present for myself. It’s going to be great

Have fun with your co-worker. Has she heard him live before, or are we going to have three more fans after the concert? 🙂

  30. gina said

sweetonda, lol. my co-worker and her daughters are casual fans during his idol days, they voted for, they have not heard him live yet. when my co-worker heard that he’s having a xmas concert, she eargerly asked if she can go with me. she loves xmas songs and like david (but not as odd like me, lol).

Here is I’ll Be There Duet David and Olivia on Tomedy.mp3

  37. emmegirl said

Betsy and Jonerz, you have killed my night…a must list of things to do and here I am again!

She really has an amazing voice and wow, what a talent. But, alas, can not take my eyes or ears off soulful D. This type of music really allows for those glorious runs and that improv, which comes from somewhere in that bottomless musical reservoir he has deep inside, to just flo-o-w out of him. Even at 13. Addictive.

  38. tawna21 said

shnauzzers! Betsy #27–that video is a gold mine! I’m in love with it! Notice that even at 13 yrs. David can slide into that key change smooth as glass and the way he covers his ear to hear himself. He was born a professsional–I do believe.

Sweetonda #29–“Has she heard him live before, or are we going to have three more fans after the concert?” I love it! And, more than likely Gina will be bringing 3 more home for the rest of us to meet. 🙂

Emme–“that bottomless musical reservoir he has deep inside,”—perfect!!

Back to watch soulful David 🙂 is it possible to have just the David part in a mp4?

  39. Abrra said

    Tawna here you go.

Angelica, what a great post! So glad there was money left over for Marius! Bless him, he has went thru so much.
Betsy, oh my gosh, love that video. I could listen to David 24/7!
Any age, any song! He just has it, so glad to support him!
Going to MKOC in Utah! Doing the happy dance and can’t wait to see some of the great gals that I met in AZ!!

  42. betsy said

    Could he be more adorable?

  43. dakgal said

Betsy—I don’t know how he could be more adorable—but he sure did get more adorable — I wanna just squish him!!! And a real sharp looking dude at 13 also. But I think he could have used some Sharpies that night. Little stinkers not as sheltered as we thought.

Angelica–Thank you for sending the extra money to Marius in David’s name—I’m one of the dorks who wasn’t paying attention when money was gathered–so I’ll send a donation also.

  44. Amb4DA said

Just a quick morning drive-by, but had to stop in and say…this was a wonderful idea, and so glad there was extra to put toward something like this to spread the “Davidlove” in another neaningful way.
Also, so amazing (overused word, but couldn’t think of another!) yet not totally surprising that he answered cards…that is really so fantastic, and means so much for people to know he’s read their heartfelt words and responded. He’s one of a kind alright…seriously, his Voice alone would be enough reason to be a fan for life, but then there’s so much more..
Well…my computer’s being wonky typing here again for some reason, so that’s all for now…hoping to get good tix today, and hoping to see more dates too for MKOC! Have a great day, VPeeps.

  45. Amb4DA said

Besty #27..what I find…I’ve never seen that one!

Kind of prophetic words about keeping “real talent” alive and not falling prey to commercialism, music stealing, a business gone awry etc…

Looking at David and listening, all I kept thinking was…the seeds of musical genius rising…it was all already there…the runs, riffs, deep deep soul, music from his bones. …and that sweet, shy, amused nature..still shows today too. Loved watching that, tks for sharing.

  46. Amb4DA said

    oops, I meant “what A find” duh. ok…told ya computer’s spazzing..cya!

Will David be there tomorrow? 🙂

  58. bluebar said

On second look, the attraction for David at Yountville may not only be the chili and salsa, but… “blues, jazz and rock!!”

Artist Johnny Smith was born in Long Beach California in 1962. He began his musical life at a very young age. Born into a musical family, Johnny’s mother nurtured his vocal talents while his uncle and aunt, well known music icons Delaney & Bonnie Bramlett, provided musical mentoring and advice. But it was a televised performance of Elvis playing “Hound Dog” that truly inspired the 9 year old Smith to pick up the guitar and pursue a life of performance and by the age of 10, he was regularly invited to perform on stage with local professional musicians….

My idea regarding David’s interesting twitpic:

In an interview or discussion somewhere on video or perhaps in COS, David has said his friends come to him with “their relationship” problems. So, I think this “anuptaphobia” is a concern he applies to them and not necessarily to himself.
    BTW.. is that David’s handwriting?.

  80. bebereader said

Tawna, idk he sure got a lot of replies on Twitter!

Bluebar, It doesn’t look like David’s handwriting to me. I’m thinking he saw the sign in his travels today and thought it was cute enough to take a pic and share. The replies he’s getting on Twitter are hilarious,

@DavidArchie do you relate to that?? Come on David, I don’t think you have anything to worry about.:)
@DavidArchie awww! Sweet! Quite the word!! You don’t have to worry bout that!!
DavidArchie this shouldn’t be a phobia for you! Not a chance of that happening. Just give it time, give it time and it will fall in line 🙂
@DavidArchie Be careful…now a million girls will tweet “You want company”? lol
@DavidArchie Hmmm… I could help you fix that David 😉

#70 Tawna, Thanks, it will be good to meet you too! I’m going to VIP with Dayzee. We will look like the 3 (short) musketeers!! lol
Dayzee is short too and I’m only 5′ tall. Just gotta find a good, cheap airfare now!

bebe~ love the tweets! So funny & I’ll bet so true too!

I’ve just gotta say…….I’m going to the Anaheim show. And I have the VIP package!! Its like Santa came early!!

My family still occasionally asks me what it is about David that I still like. I’ve told them its his voice but then he’s got that smile! On top of all that he’s the kindest, sweetest, most giving person too. They still don’t get it but I can live with that. 🙂

dja~ I’ll be looking for you at the Grove!

Hello everyone!!!!! I have had a crazy busy week, waited & waited & waited for a midwest date that still hasn’t happened so….I am going to New York!!!!! I am going to the 1st two shows. *faints*

FYI, there is a venue sponsored VIP at Irving Plaza which supposedly allows for front of line access and a special VIP balcony area. The venue told me that you can choose to be on the floor if you wish. Contrary to what folks are saying, the venue told me that THERE ARE NO SEATS anywhere, not even in VIP balcony. A few people have called them and they have gotten other information about time of entry, VIP areas, so I am holding off and trying to call the Manager on Monday just to clarify what I am getting for my extra $20. All the people that have answered the phone have said that there will be a separate VIP early entry line, and that we will get in 1st. That is worth the $20 for sure! Once I get more info, I’ll post it.

I cannnnnnnot wait to see New York, David, and meet some fans! 🙂 *faints*
