Remember Malaysia? Yeah, somehow I just can’t let go of that concert. It was April 2009 and I almost started smoking again.
Speaking of smoking, how fitting that his autograph signing this morning (for us) will be held at a place called Fahrenheit?
I predict temperatures in the upper hawt regions in the tropics of Malaysia for the next couple of days. Precautions should be ignored. Why bother? He ain’t even trying, folks. That’s what makes it so maddening. And irresistible. Face it, he’s our toast and we’re jam.
Speaking of jam, he will be jamming out, not at the Sunway Lagoon Resort Park for 5,000 fans, oh no, but HERE, at Negara Stadium to a vast multitude of jam…uh fans. At least there will be air-conditioning this time.
Get ready Malaysia cause… ♫ we’re having a heat waaaave, a tropical heat wave, the temperature’s rising, it isn’t surprising, he certainly can…can. ♫ On second thought maybe we’re toast and he’s jam? However you serve it, this breakfast has gone “Continental” and you know that always leaves you wanting more!

I watched the Ustream which was very uneventful I’m happy to say. I always hold my breath as David makes his way from the airport gate to the waiting car. Fans were there waiting for him but for once I wasn’t afraid for his safety. The crowd was very orderly. Thank you, Asian fans for taking care of our prince.

Ok I’m freaking out now… David just appeared on the Malaysian news right about now!!! It’s the report of his press conference this afternoon, he talked about Amy Winehouse’s death and how he is not as popular as JB. lol he said all he wants and loves is making, and hope his music will help people even in a small way!!! (yeah, David you have no idea don’t you) Oh he looks sooooo goood on TV.
I want to kick myself now cause I don’t have twitter acc . so I can let you guys know what’s going on here. !!! I’m soooo excited now yay yay.

SB–#3— I probably missed it , but what was the occasion in these videos? A meet and greet or something else? It was just different –very casual.
We’ve all seen David’s stage persona–him doing signings–press conferences–VIPs–TV interviews–meet and greets in a more stiff formal setting ( always press hanging around with a ton of cameras).
But I don’t recall seeing anything like this—getting to see him interact with people/fans his age–without feeling he had to be on ( just chatting )-David is a little guarded but more relaxed and seems to be having a good time. It has always seemed to me -in a group of people –i.e. the AI reunion videos– that he hangs back and lets the other people do the talking.
I love these videos — because here he is letting me have a little peek at what it’s like just to hang with him. Just casual , everyday
chit chat. (LOVE his chuckle, its so quiet)

One more thing before I go for the day. I have been following someone from Vietnam on Twitter. Didn’t know anything about him at first. Then. She interviewed David.
She went to his show.
She has been tweeting ever since, about him. She is proudly calling herself an Archangel. She has changed her profile pic to him. She is searching out others, David fans, and talking to them. She changed her phone wallpaper to him, lol.
We are witnessing the birth of a superfan. 🙂

David Archuleta Doesn’t Do Drugs
Cutie pie David Archuleta arrived in Kuala Lumpur this afternoon and at a press conference several hours ago, he was presented with a plaque marking his six times platinum status by Sony Music Malaysia and a wau as a souvenir.

David expressed sadness at the news of Amy Winehouse’s sudden passing: “I know she’d gone through a lot and she lived a very difficult life but she has made some great music which has made a huge impact on the music industry. It’s sad to see her go.”
When asked if he ever took drugs, David, although a little surprised by the question given his squeaky clean image, answered it like a pro.
“David posing for photographers — check out the sumptuous spread on the table!”
“I can say that that’s something I’m not involved in,” he said. “I try to encourage kids of all ages if there’s something that they’ve become quite addicted to… I do believe that if you’re motivated enough to get out of it, you can get out of it. I just hope that if anyone is struggling with that, I know that they can improve their lives by getting out of it.”
For the concert tomorrow night, David may perform Touch My Hand because he revealed that it was one of his favourite songs. “It’s a song that’s meant to be performed live,” he told the roomful of press and invited fans. “It’s meant to describe what it is like to be on stage and to see the crowd and what it feels like to share that moment with someone there at the show.”

There’s no doubt after today that David loves his Malaysian fans because he distinctly remembers his last trip: “I do remember coming here last time when I did the showcase. I always remember that experience and I remember all the Malaysian fans that were there and were at the airport too. I’m really excited to come and do a full concert in Malaysia because the fans have been very supportive. I’m just preparing many of the popular songs from the albums that are released and a few covers that I like to sing. I just hope that the Malaysian fans enjoy it.”

Dak, I read on AFS that platinum status in Malaysia is reached for sales of over 15,000 units but I don’t know what exactly sold 6 times 15,000. But it’s all good!
To my knowledge he never received platinum recognition for Crush but achieved that status long ago. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

Thanks for the video! I watched with pride as David received his 6x platinum award and had his pictures taken by the media. At 3:00, the host said, “You’re so much better in person. As for those dance moves, I think dancing is in his blood just like he was born to sing. He has such a natural rhythm. Something tells me we’ll be seeing more and more of it as he begins to really relax and let himself have fun on stage. We’re just seeing the beginnings of it.
Angelica, those tags cracked me up. I can understand how she feels. There are some fabulous photos in that bunch.
So, who’s the resident screen capper today? I wold love (pretty please) to have a screen cap here of that lovely 6X Platinum award in David’s hands. Watching him get presented with that award just mad my little heart go flippity flop. ♥♥♥ I am so happy for him.

♥ I want him to have tons of awards. ♥ Not becuase he wants or needs them, but because they are a symbol of appreciation for the amazing ♫ gift ♫ he has, and he is getting better all the time.
This Asian tour has loosened him up nicely and I really hope he brings that new found energy and confidence back home with him. Lovin’ the off-the-cuff, playful singing and all those new moves.

Malaysia is David’s last stop, wonder if we’ll see any surprises 🙂 ? So proud seeing him get the award, his face showed his surprise and gratitude at the same time.
That first picture at #33 David is an amazing performer, the energy in that picture makes me want to get up and jump!
I still haven’t caught up with everything but watching video after video his voice stands out above everything else. I know we say how could it get better, but it has, so strong and piercing, even in the soft parts, he grabs the heart and doesn’t let go.

That Interview was one of the most relaxed I think I have ever heard. He was enjoying the guys and they loove him. The bleep is killing me, lol!

Hi! Just want to share a few from the events here in Malaysia (yes, I flew from Manila to KL, Malaysia last night to watch David’s last stop in Asia because I know its going to be epic).
Here’s the setlist from David’s concert in Malaysia. He sang 17 songs. I think David decided to add Crazy in the encore just before he came out for the encore.

I am uploading my videos of David’s soundcheck BEFORE the official soundcheck that was for VVIP ticket holders. We walked into the stadium not knowing that we weren’t supposed to go in yet (no one stopped us). We heard the band playing so we thought the soundcheck for VVIPs already started. He sang 5 songs (Altnoy, TMH, EAM, STR, Elevator). There’s a portion in EAM that David sang using his lower register. We only found out that we weren’t supposed to be there yet when Jeff saw us and wondered how we got in. I guess, the security got an earful from Jeff after that.

I am also uploading the Q&A vid during soundcheck. I was able to capture the part where David was supposed to sang a few lines from Adele’s Someone Like You (he played a bit on the piano) but the host cut him off and told everyone that it’s already time for Q&A. Lucky for the girl that got a birthday song/greeting from David.
I am also writing my recap which I hope to complete soon. It’s 3:30 AM here but I still can’t get over all the events from the last 24 hours.

That Crush vid … well… he definitely finished his tour with flair! I am so thirilled for David that I can’t even begin to express it. There are so many thing that happened during this tour that I hope David never forgets. I hope he always remembers how this tour felt, and always remembers how much his fans around the world love his voice, his music, and him as a person.
I also hope that the outstanding job he has done on this tour is noticed here in the states by people who can and will help him kick his career into high gear. He is just too incredibly talented for people here not to even know when he puts new music out. *sighs*

Well, I finally made it thru David’s time in Asia. What a bummer that real life happens during David time. Sadly,there have been some hard times (thank goodness for David’s music). The fun times were some really fun times, tho’.
I’ve so enjoyed all of the posts and comments that have been offered up here. The pictures and videos are breathtaking!! David is bringing home a lot of love from the Asian fans. He’s got to be floating on cloud nine from all the love♥ and kindness and appreciation that he’s received in the last week. You can see in his eyes and actions how it has affected him.
I wonder if he’s home yet? It will be good to have him “home”. Hopefully they have nothing planned for a few days, so they can all sleep, rest, and recover from the stomach ails that bothered them. They deserve some down time. ♥♥ [We all need some downtime now to recover from this tour, also.] 🙂

FYI, this is just a joke guys. MT asked for any reactions to the photo and my first one was to laugh at the sort of silly, mischievous expression on his face. I remembered an interview where he said that during the photoshoot for TOSOD, he didn’t want to do pictures at that time that were like, “Oh you know you want me.” To me, this is the oppostite of that kind of photo, so the caption made it even funnier.

Good morning to everyone here! How is everyone? What a great tour! Great videos! When Steven said it was going to be epic, he wasn’t kidding! This just has to make David sooo happy and hopeful! And the band was phenomenal! What a great experience for all of them! I think back to the “Decision” vlog… and how David said something like… “I’m not suppose to be doing this”….. Reminds me of the feelings he had when he sang Imagine… not the popular decision but held to it… Doors opened… and they have opened again. I wonder how many other doors will open as David follows his inner voice.. This is exciting! yay!

My daughters’ reaction!, Ok imagine dinner plates as their eyes and a big soup bowl as their mouths haha that’s their faces (mine too) when they see David in the flesh for the first time, and they let out the scream so loud that I just couldn’t remember when was the last time I heard that from them, but yeah David’s appearence just struck us, we thought we were prepared.. enough !!! nope we’re wrong lol he just glows with his inner light so tender that shine through him like Angelica said above. I don’t know.. he look so peaceful, warm, kind, and plain “good” oh clean too haha a bit tired though. That’s how my daughters explain him anyway, ha to me he doesn’t look like he from this world!!! how can a humanbeing looks so good in everyway like that !!!

I hope David’s flight is better than my neighbor’s coming from France–she’s been stuck in D.C. and NYC for
1-1/2 days because of the airline. 😦 I think she must be in the air now headed for Utah–I haven’t heard from her that it was cancelled again. Can you imagine 18 international flights landing at the same time in D.C. and all those people having to go thru customs? Not so much fun I would guess. **one foot in front of the other**

Hoping for that Asian tour DVD. Not to put a damper on it because it would be the icing on a very delicious cake, but I remember that for each show on the Christmas Tour, David also wore the same outfit and we didn’t get a DVD. 😦 Please tell me that it’s different this time.
