Angelica, your post has me sooo excited for David’s adventures in Vietnam over the next few days! It’s so wonderful to see the passion of his Asian fans.
Not to be redundant…but can I just say “Heaven”. *Sigh*
Hi all~ I have been reading theVoice everyday for a long time ladies. Love this place! This latest post is so touching. I just love all the Asian fans. They seem so sweet, so genuine, so full of joy. And it looks like about half of them are boys! Yay for fanboys!
dja~ you wrote on the previous post about David’s September 17 appearance in AZ. Well, I’m happy to tell you I’m going with 3 fellow Archies. Let me know (email) if you’re going. We can meet up!
Angelica, abrra, dja, sky, dak & so many more, you’re all such great & funny writers. Its so comforting to know there’s a place where I can go to relate to other ODD’ers about the best singer on the planet. Ever! (right Abrra?)
The photos of David’s fans in Vietnam blows my mind. The Vietnam I knew in the sixties was not a place anyone wanted to be. My brother was there a year, fighting the, “war” that he didn’t want any part of. His experience was life changing and made him bitter. So, to see a new generation that looks happy and excited for the arrival of an American singer is heartwarming. The Asian fans almost put us to shame when it comes to planning a campaign for David’s arrival and welcome. I am sure those big signs cost a lot of money too. I’ll send these photos to my brother. I am sure he’ll be glad that there are people in Vietnam that are doing well and look happy. David is a goodwill ambassador of love. By the way my brother’s name is David and our baby brother’s name is James. I pray that David Archuleta stays well so that he can fully enjoy this tour of a lifetime.
Today on the other side of the world, David will experience yet another reminder of the importance of his existance in the lives of so many people. No doubt he will be blown away & humbled by the outpouring of love, admiration & devotion for David. And he will wonder what HE DID to deserve such adulation? If only there were words to explain to David, the enigma that he still is in so many ways, this love affair we have of who he is & what he means to us, here and all over the world.
I am heartened that David & his fans in Vietnam are several generations removed from the horrible memories of a past war. This is THEIR time and the past is the past. Enjoy David!
David said he didn’t know “how it would be” in Vietnam. In other words, he no doubt read up on the history and wondered what to expect. Silly boy! Seems to me, the Asian countries he is visiting are trying to outdo each other showing him the love!
Bye all! Off to work I go! I do ramble on sometimes. 😆
ps…Angelica, beautiful job covering David’s Asian Experience! 😀
SuzyQ,
I love your post. Ever since I heard that David was going to Vietnam, I have had the same thoughts. It’s such a different world. When the younger fans think Vietnam, they will think David, music, peace, love.
Have a good day everyone. ♥
I just have no word to explain how happy I am for the David and his trip to Asia and also for the fans here, it just blow my mind how much he’s loved and vice versa, he really is one of a kind (not even one in a million cause there’s no one like him) I now realize that our love and admiration for him will only grow and will never stop just because it’s who he is … the stranger who is the easiest person on the face of the earth to love (if that make sense lol).
I hope he has the best time in Viet Nam and here in Malaysia, and hope the rest of the world will wake up… take notice of how special David is, and (realize) how lucky they are to have David enriched their lives !!!
This is so beautiful – that video brought tears, chills and a huge smile! Bless David for providing those of us old enough to remember a look into the lovely young lives of Viet Nam today. It never ceases to amaze me all that this young man teaches me.
Though David doesn’t go to Thailand but he’s so good to the fans there cause on the day that David went to Sony Phil, he chat with some Thai fans via skype!!! according to them, David started the conversation first talking – rambling about Thai food for a good few minutes lol the fans got so star struck they got tongue tie haha ( I know I would lol) David sang everything and more accapella for them , blow them away!!! they took video too but they will only show it on 5 August cause that’s the day his album drop in Thailand and they’ll have listening party then.
Pocoelsy, that sounds wonderful and he does enjoy Thai food so much. I believe that it is his favourite food…
Angelica, all of the pictures including the video are awesome. Besides his rendition of Heaven, this astonished me. We have all wanted David to be adored the world over just like we see in the pictures. It is not a matter of time or the fact that he has to pay his silly dues that people talk about, but just to be recognized for the wonderful singer and person who he is. This article has those very pictures of our dreams for him but to our disappointment it has not happened here at home. Well, I believe that the huge doors have opened for him and there is no turning back.

Wandering what @DavidArchie did at SonyMusicPh ofc yesterday? He chatted w/ Thai fans via Skype! He also sang “Everything & More” during the chat & his voice is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.

Lots and lots pictures, videos and articles on David’s philippine visit
Playing the keyboards while singing ‘My Kind Of Perfect.’
MANILA, Philippines — The saying “three’s a charm” worked for third-time visitor David Archuleta.
The “American Idol Season 7” runner-up arrived July 17 in time for his successful Manila concert held July 18 at the Araneta Coliseum.
Fans screamed at the top of their voices at the glimpse of the 20-year-old American crooner and songwriter. Talent aside, it only needs his boyish charm to perfect a night loaded with one and a half hour of showmanship.
David sang 17 songs from his past and present albums, satisfying the crowd composed of youngsters and oldies.
“Hello Philippines!,” went David who started the show past 9 p.m. with “Stomping The Roses.” His getup was relaxed – black jeans, plain gray shirt and red jacket – making him sweat all over on that hot, humid day.
“Kumusta kayo, Manila? It’s good to be back here. Thank you for coming. It’s my third time here,” David addressed the crowd as he tried to perfect his Tagalog.
No dull moment
The upbeat “The Other Side Of Down,” “Something Bout Love,” “Elevator” sent David dancing and jumping to the beat full of energy, same with “A Little Too Not Over You,” “Love Don’t Hate,” “Touch My Hand,” “My Hands,” “Falling Stars” and his hit “Crush.” The repertoire made the audience sing as if they were singing the national anthem – united, synchronized, and take note, with lyrics memorized.
Not to be missed from the repertoire were covers among them: Tears for Fears’ “Everybody Wants To Rule The World,” Daniel Bedingfield’s “Gonna Get Thru This” and Bryan Adam’s “Heaven.”
David also shared a piece of advice to the crowd. “Have a dream. Live it, work hard for it even if the others tell you, ‘you can’t.’”
At the middle of the show, David didn’t forget to thank and commend Julie Anne San Jose, who front-acted for him.
“She has an amazing voice,” said David of Julie Anne.
That boyish charm
Showing how talented he is, David sang a couple of songs while playing his keyboard. The left-handed artist didn’t play the guitar, though many expected him to.
Playing his composition “My Kind Of Perfect,” makes David imagine “I wonder if she goes to the theme park… if she likes music just like me…”
During the jam-packed meet-and-greet session held at the event center of SM Megamall a day prior his Manila concert, David told the crowd his “kind of girlfriend:” “Down to earth, loves her family, love to go out and most especially, loves to eat.”
David’s serene voice, beyond the powerful falsettos and ballads relayed sincerity and depth. Beyond being a pop crooner, he’s a total performer. His most uploaded performance attests to this – his rendition, for instance, of Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me.”
Playing again on keyboards, “A Thousand Miles,” as David said, is “a song that I like to sing a lot. It reminds me of my mom.” David seemed to forget the chords and lyrics of the song’s second stanza. But with only a boyish smile, he pulled off recovery and was rewarded with loud cheers.
He even changed the lyrics to his fans’ delight: “You know I’d fly a thousand times if I could just see you… Manila.”
David then addressed the cheering crowd, “You guys just make me freeze!”
“Salamat, audience! A big salamat for being here. You guys are amazing. I can’t thank you enough” prompted everybody as he sang his last piece, “Zero Gravity.”
Overwhelmed with the crowd’s plea to come back, David rushed back and said, “This is so amazing, incredible! It’s been remarkable making me come back.”
As soon as the American Idol Season 7 runner-up came out on stage singing “Stomping the Roses,” audience members started dancing to the beat while others stood up on their seats to get a better view of the American singer.
David kept on jumping up and down and walking across the stage as he performed “The Other Side of Down,” culled from his latest album of the same name.
As soon as his song ended, David shouted: “Kamusta kayo, Manila?”
The crowd reacted with cheers and applause as David continued: “It’s so good to be back here. It’s been amazing.”
Wearing a gray shirt and red jacket throughout the concert, David liked to gesture with his hands and walk around the stage.
Some of the songs that he performed last night include “A Little Too Not Over You,” “Don’t Let Go,” and his version of the Tears For Fears song “Everybody Wants To Rule The World.”
When he sang “Something ‘Bout Love,” he gave up mic duties for a while to let the crowd sing their hearts out.
For his next song, production set up a keyboard to let David play. He told the crowd that when people ask him if he likes blondes or brunettes, he points out: “I wonder if she likes to go to a theme park…”
He then sat down on the keyboards to play his song “My Kind of Perfect.”
He performed the keyboards for the second time when he played “A Thousand Miles,” which he admitted reminds him of his mom.
He expressed his gratitude for his Pinoy fans by telling them: “I would really fly a thousand miles to see you guys.”
For one of his songs last night, he sang “Elevator” and asked different sections of the Big Dome to sing along with him. He was very pleased with the results, prompting him to exclaim, “Good job, Manila!”
At around 10 p.m., David said that his last song would be “Zero Gravity.” He thanked the audience and went backstage but the crowd kept on shouting, “We want more!”
After a few seconds, David was all-smiles as he went back out and announced, “I’d like to perform a few more songs. You guys are just so amazing. This totally encourages me. This song is what I did on Hollywood Week [on American Idol Season 7]. It’s a song called ‘Heaven.'”
Before he left the stage, David made hearts flutter with his declaration, “Mahal ko kayo!”
For his final song last night, he went all out in singing “Crush.”
@DavidArchie so excited bout ur concert 2mor. U know here in VN, we called u “shiny smile” or “angel’s smile”. We love u so much!
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
I love this tweet so much.
His smile is his passport to the world.
Thank you Angelica, the pictures tell the story. I have a lump in my throat. That is all. David is love.
I am so impressed by the Asian fans and so happy for the amount of time David is spending with him. As a mom, I wish he would occasionally pause from eating and notice some of the beautiful girls-HA! There were some stunners in the airport at Vietnam!
HI everyone! Gosh …tears… things just keep getting better… loving all of this! Found this translation at FOD. Thought you guys might be interested.. David is soooo busy!
They are calling David “LITTLE PRINCE”!
“The Little Prince The guy was very friendly informal chat with reporters, and so Vietnamese in exchange conference which took place several hours ago. Landing Tan Son Nhat Airport at 5.30pm after a long flight than ten hours, had to run right out stadium Military Zone 7 to rehearsals for the show tomorrow, but tonight’s 8:30, “Little Prince” David is matched with a permanent smile on the lips at a press conference held at Riverside Exchange Palace. He made everyone present tonight because of the extremely touching as much friendly despite extreme fatigue with heavy schedules.”
So nice to see the love here! Shiny Smile Angel’s Smile on the Little Prince. David is soaking up all the love in Asia and we are loving it too! So happy David arrived safely as we all prayed with SF. The pictures I’m seeing are heartwarming as the preparation you showed us Anglica was.
Vee thanks for sharing your excitement and memories. Glad you made it to the Departure lane and made it home safely.
Cheers to all. Thank God there is peace and joy in Viet Nam!!
You guys are making me cry with your awesome comments. So much love for The Archuleta in Asia, throughout his fanbase here in the states and here where we celebrate on “The Voice”.

Why Vietnam “jubilantly” welcome David Archuleta
21/07/2011 21:35
“The Little Prince” was very friendly in an informal chat with reporters, in an exchange conference which took place several hours ago.
He was friendly to every one present tonight despite extreme fatigue with heavy schedules.
Only talk in a short time, David Archuleta is still trying to answer questions from reporters. Especially since he sent word: “Hello Vietnam” to people in Vietnamese but really push it! Many commented: “He was easy-going and terrible loving.”
“Little Prince” will not forget the fans, he confided that he felt extremely surprised and happy above all love for his fans at the airport this afternoon. David would like to thank everyone with the good will try to perform well tomorrow there.
When asked about tomorrow’s performance, David was smiling and revealed that he will not bring surprises to the “flashing” on stage, he wants to conquer Vietnam in his own voice. It is worth looking forward to right?
A lot of showbiz stars hit Vietnam has to greet and interact with David Archuleta tonight, including singer Britney Hung, Noo Phuoc Thinh, Bao Thy, Uyen Linh, Van Mai Huong, actress Ngo Thanh Van, 365 groups.
Angelica, your post today, along with comments of others, has brought me out of lurkdom, to comment on a fansite for the 1st time. Now that David is in Vietnam, we older fans can’t help remember the Vietnam of yrs ago. We lived on Clark AB in the Philippines in the mid 70s so David’s tour in Asia has me constantly remembering that time. I can understand the Filipiinos love for David; I felt their love for music and anything American way back then. When Saigon fell in April of 1975, orphans were brought first to Clark, before heading to the U.S. to find a home, where they would be loved. We did what we could, hundreds packed into a sweltering hangar, and then we helped carry the babies onto the plane. The youngest would be about 37 now; might any be a fan of David…..it makes me wonder. David is a beautiful gift, a blessing to ALL, and tomorrow and Sunday, the Vietnamese will receive! It is totally overwhelming for me.
Silverfox….your analogy of comparing the size of the Asian countries to the U.S. is something I was also thinking about. As much as we would love for David to receive the same love here, the kind he is now experiencing, we’ll have to be patient……it will take time but it has to happen. BTW, I need to apologize to you, sandybeaches, angelica, and djafan for acting like a fan of the fans, when I met all of you after one of the MoTab concerts. All of you on The Voice are such awesome writers and I thank everyone here for all your hard work on this wonderful site.
Please come back and share this great adventure with us? I loved your story about the orphans. I remember the whole thing like it was yesterday. Realizing that we are far from the current generation of fans that will see David in concert, there is a lovely juxtaposition on having David bring his music to Vietnam. It was in times past a place of pain and suffering, and now he is there to show them nothing but kindness and love.David is the Ambassador of Love for the US. He is spreading love wherever he goes in the world.
Thank you Nancy for a lovely comment. BTW I have never met my fellow admins in person. You are ahead of me in that dept.
Oh my gosh, it just keeps getting better! Throughout this whole Asian tour I’ve been telling myself “I’m not going to cry, I’m not going to cry”. Well, that didn’t fly today. Something really big is happening here!!!
David just looks gorgeous in that shirt at the press conference!
And how in the world are we going to welcome him back to America after all this??
#34 Gayle, “Something really big is happening here!” You got that right! and its more than a song… look at the happy influence David is on people… I was reminded of that when David walked around the table to hug the grandma… how many “popstars” would take the time to do that? and then David skyping with the Thai fans… He takes the time to touch other peoples lives… much more going on than a song….and David’s songs are out of this world awesome! LOL!
David made the Forbes list 3 years in a row!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So many saying he was done, washed up is still in the top ten even though it was a so called slow year!!!! David is still in demand and gets paid for appearances and must get paid nicely. With everything he’s doing now he’s a ringer for next years top ten 🙂
So darn proud of this young hard working man!
10. David Archuleta ($1 million, tie)
Defeated in Season Seven by David Cook, Archuleta went on to release a self-titled album on Jive records that reached No. 2 on the Billboard charts. His memoir, Chords of Strength, debuted last June.
There are some very beautiful women in Vietnam! The lady at the airport with the white silk dress seems to be his “handler” and she is quite lovely. David even gave her the once-over very ninja quick like just before they came out the doors of the airport. She’s also with him at the press conference so she must be at least one of his handlers. 🙂
David looks happy & not a bit tired in the photos from that press thingy. In fact, he looks wonderful with just a slight hint a 5:00 shadow and that dang itchy stubble above his lips. 😉 He’s never looked better!
#34/Gayle: “And how in the world are we going to welcome him back to America after all this”?? <<<A very good question & a very tall order!
I'm nearly speechless at the tremendous welcome David is receiving from his Asian fans ~hoping he is soaking in all this love & affection. He SOOO deserves it!
~Time to put out thinking caps on guys 'cause we all know we love him JUST AS MUCH! ❤
Abrra#42- Love your pic spam. Haha shadow alert.
5th pic down He looks great in that shirt. He just glows.
Last pic I’ve been Eyelashed! lol and what a gorgeous profile!
I don’t even know what to say, where to begin, so I’ll just say my heart is bursting with joy and pride and love. I can only imagine how his family feels.
He is perilously close to the beginnings of that mustache he was talking about.
Showbiz Shelly has been a fangirl of David’s since well, since as long as I can remember. Cute pic, djafan.
For someone who has been traveling for a few days I don’t see any signs of jetlag, do you? As SF said, David looks better than ever! Perhaps it’s from soaking up all the love from his fans.
This Asia tour was a great idea! He sold to tens of thousands of people and hopefully sold a ton of merch too. He picked up stage skills a la rockstar. Praying that he makes oodles of money on this tour and is able to repeat show back home.
Emmegirl and ram,
I’m a fan of the watch too. I bet it’s one of those watches that tells the time in all different countries. Maybe he glances at it often to to see what time it is at home in case he wants to call to see how the family is doing. That watch is probably more ‘grounding’ than we realize. JMO.
Abrra-The VIP is decorated in the style fit for “a prince”. It looks like he might be getting the royal treatment in Viet Nam. I am very excited to see what other experiences David will have there.
My feeling about this amazing day ❤
Posted on July 22, 2011 by vocaotuyetnhi
I don’t know what to say right now. I’m really happy today. Maybe, my dream has come true. I had a chance to meet David in person, heard he said “Hi” to Vietnam. You’re so cool, David. I know that everyone knows that, but I just want to say it thousand times and thank you so much. The way you treat to your fans, it’s so awesome. I wanna cry when you shook my hand and received our gift, but I was afraid that you would be scared 🙂 ), so I just controlled and told to myself : “ It’s ok, I’m face to face with you and nothing brings my down“ 🙂 ) I know that you’re so tired after flying, but you still smile with us. I’ll remember the way you looked at me when they told me that you couldn’t sign or take photos anymore cause you’re so tired, the securities pushed my back, but you told them to let me in and took a photo with me. I was speechless at that moment. You checked out our gifts and looked so excited about them. Looking at your smile, I didn’t want to remember anything haha. And Mr.Jeff, you’re so cool, too 🙂 ). You always asked if I’s ok when you saw me with my sadness. So today is my big day. I’ll never forget it. I just want to thank ss Huong and Mrs Robin Tuyen again for giving a chance to meet David. Thank ss Windi, ss Tiffany and Steven for helping me a lot and of course all the ArchAngels in the South. They always stand by me everytime I feel disappointed, encourage me and make me stronger. I love you so much.
My heart is so full today. Just got through this whole thread. From the airport welcome to the beautiful a capella Altnoy (I’ve never loved that song more) to the hug for Lola (so dignified, so beautiful), the gorgeous pictures, the Txnancy’s beautiful delurk story (♥), and all the comments.
I just knew the second I woke up that it was going to be a great day. I annoyed everyone at work by overusing the word super.
I wish I was kidding about that last part, lol.
FG and MunkFOD, yes it is a tall order! When I asked myself that question I was thinkin about how David would notice the difference in airport receptions and such between Asia and the US.
His graciousness would not want anyone to undergo hardship for his sake. I understand just geographically it would be hard on a lot of fans to go and welcome him at an airport. David knows how much we love him here. But wouldn’t it be awesome if we could do like the Asian fans?
Sorry-from my phone-limited text. 😦
Back in the year…oh I don’t really know at this point, I was driving in a car with Abrra and friends. Our conversation progressed into another realm of thinking in regards to David and perhaps it was seeing him in history long ago. Well with article writers together in a car driving to see David, there was bound to be imaginations gone a bit crazy the longer we talked. I do think of him as a Prince at times. There is a beautiful picture of David that was the lead picture a few articles ago and when I saw that picture, there were fleeting visions of Prince Harry. Maybe it was in the warmth of his smile but that picture brought the word “Prince” to my mind instantly and to me he has come to that.
Something electrifying is in the air, we can sense it and it is wonderful.
TXNancy, it is so nice to hear from you. Your comments on #31 are so very interesting. It is wonderful to read some of the history of that time as it is still in our memories and the best part is knowing now about the monumental changes that have taken place.
Okay, I just had to come out of lurk mode to make a few comments. I can’t help but feel so proud to be fan of David’s right now! All this fanfare to welcome him by the Vietnamese Archies is very heart warming! I couldn’t help but shed a tear or two as I scanned over the photos and watched the video they made for him. David has got to be the luckiest person walking on the face of this planet. He has SOOOO many people all around the world who love him to pieces. There is no doubt about how his Asian fans feel about him. I just wished he could get that kind of reception here back home in the U.S.. I’m one of David’s hometown fans, and the Asian fans even put US to shame. They truely know what a special person he is.
I’m just throwing this idea out there as one way to welcome David back home to the U.S.. What about starting a group card for him??? I would start one myself, but I don’t know how. Anyway….any thoughts???
I’ve been reading everything and wanting to comment and just don’t know where ot start! David’s reception in each country has been so awesome. And the entrance to the VIP, wow, I can’t imagine how that must make him feel.
Dja, 35,000? Can that be accurate? Wow, that’s a huge crowd! When I saw the photo of the crowd in Manila, it floored me. It’s so surreal to think of our little guy, capturing and holding the attention of that many people, ( many who don’t even speak the same language) having them totally engaged and singing along, shouting I LOVE YOU, with no fancy background singers and dancers, no huge show going on behind him, no crazy stunts or costume changes, just him, his charm, and his voice. It amazes and thrills me.
There’s lots more I want to say, but I just can’t find the words except to say “Love All The Fans around the world.” ♥ Thanks for loving David and for sharing with us. ♥The same goes to everyone here as well. ♥”
David, just soak it all in … and know that your fans all over the world feel the same way.
PS Now THAT plaid shirt looks goooood. That face. 🙂 How gorgeous he is!
hello all, just want to say it would ne very hard to meet david at the airport here in the us because of the securety here i am luckly when i can gey close enought to pic people up much less stop to great them, and that young man would make anything he wore look good it,s him not the clothes lol and if he gets any more hamson we will hat to lock him up. lol
In every picture taken of David on this tour he looks rested. How can that be? I never remember seeing him look this handsome in every single shot. Is he just getting even more photogentic or is it that he is just so excited and happy that he beams? Anyway, I have added a few dozen to my collection.
The photo with the older woman is a hoot! That looks could say a lot of things. It could be,”Did you see the two arm hug I got? Well, eat your heart out, ladies”. She’s obviously a “Cougar”. Good for her!
The Kelloggs shirt has asian writing on it. I don’t know what country but maybe a fan gave it to him.
I see from the photo that David will be performing in a outdoor stage again. it’s too bad because it’s going to be another sweaty performance. Oh Darn.
Seriously, what is going on with the media nowadays? Do they really need to ask him the sex song question on the Vietnam conference? I think David kept his cool and just showed how honest and true to himself as an artist and person he is so kudos for that!
Anywyas, if you want to take a look at my review of the conference I’ll leave here the link and I would appreciate your comments about this whole situation, thanks!
David Archuleta practices piano, waits for press event, Vietnam
credit DArchSiteVids
“There was a piano in the holding area for David Archuleta’s Welcoming Party press event in Vietnam. In this behind-the-scenes exclusive, David plays some of his song, “My Kind of Perfect.”
(yeah… first pic….. 1st pick….. I really don’t care which cause either meaning fits. He is, in that shirt, a sight for sore eyes, kind eyes, sorry eyes, ai yi yiiiiiis and all other eyes that may be. closed or open.)
One more short video of ALTNOY rehearsal. A closer view. Notice the majority of fans in the front are males . That is so good to see a balance of genders. It shows that he IS reaching all demographics.
I know its very late–(glad to see our night owl, bebe) but I have been reading all of the comments today–watching all the videos-looking at all the pictures—and words just escape me:
So isn’t it interesting that David should come up with a “tweet” that describes it all—“Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: What! You too? I thought I was the only one.”
Well I could just bawl my eyes out right now!! ( where’s one of angelicas wonderful characters right now!)
What do I even want to say! To tell you the truth I don’t even know. This tweet is epic–because it spans countries –age groups– old or young–rich or poor–fans from every corner of the earth and their love for this very special human being.
David , I do feel so much friendship with all your Asian fans who have demonstrated their love for you in so many ways—and with all the US fans, who have watched your every move and worked so hard to bring it to the rest of us on the different sites. ( Esp. this one ) Love you guys!
I am still overwhelmed with the love people are showing David – from Indonesia, here in my country, Vietnam and on to Malaysia.
I have been feeling sorry for myself about missing the concert and the excitement- but then, the Almighty had other plans for me. The night of the concert, my grandson fell in school, hit his head on the cement floor and started vomiting. We had to rush him to the hospital. He was admitted for observation, underwent x-rays and a CT Scan – Praise God he is doing fine now – but what would I have felt if I was in Manila enjoying myself, leaving my my husband and my daughter-in-law sick with worry?
I am happy the hotel called me up personally to tell me they brought my gift to David;s room.
I know he will be back for another concert, hopefully in this part of the country.( Kris Allen came two years ago).
Thank you everyone for the videos, pictures…I am at peace (backing to lurking.)
I have not found a UStream for his show in Vietnam, so I will spam some tweets, translated articles and pictures.
David got his venue confused.
@DavidArchie
Getting ready for 1st Vietnam show!! Tonight in Ho Chi Minh City at San Van Dong Stadium 8:00 PM!
@DavidArchie
Bah, sorry for the confusion guys! I’ll see you tonight at the Quan Khu 7 Stadium! Or Military Zone 7 Stadium! haha
David Archuleta had a fear of light flash
22.07.2011 08:59
‘But now I’ve changed, become more used flash lights and how to share more. I know what my goal in life to pursue the ‘American Idol 2008 runner-assertive press Vietnam.
American Idol Runner 2008 season came to Vietnam in the late late afternoon flight on 07/21, no more does little respite, David Archuleta on the car straight out of the stadium QK7 attend the examination program Music Idol Event 2011. Hi David. Welcome you to Vietnam. But we were waiting for him for so long. Can you explain why miss an appointment online meeting this morning and why not delay this afternoon? (Van Minh, 20, TP HCM)
– Hello readers VnExpress.net. I arrived a bit late editorial slightly from the original schedule from morning till now because I have to attend rehearsals program at the stadium in preparation for the show tonight. Sorry you very much for all you have to wait long. Many thanks for the warm welcome you!
– Who was David Archuleta? (Nguyen Van Thao, 21, Hue)
– If just talking about music is certainly none other than Michael Jackson. One of the reasons David idol Michael Jackson because he has put lot of energy as well as his passion for things like dance, singing, songwriting.
David has always stressed the emotional component in the compositions and performances

David responded quickly before the reader’s questions.
Do you feel what they are called “angels”? (Ngoc Anh Nguyen, 21, TP HCM)
– I do not know. Often I hear them calling me intimacy is “Archie” only. It could be because of American Idol 2008 singing my Angel, so fans have called me “angel”. But can they think of me with the feeling of affection like that.
– Did you try any cuisine Vietnam yet? Pho, perhaps? (Trinh Quang Hieu, 30, Hanoi)
– I just have lunch at a Vietnamese restaurant and the dishes that I like a pancake. Pho is my favorite, and I have plenty of places to try pho. I also love to eat grilled chicken, salad book and I would like to Hanoi to try another noodle.
– I became a fan ‘big’ of him, after watching the clip “Crush” on TV. I was very impressed. The song is very sweet. I like watching him sing, looks like an angel. He may very well face shape. Do you think you will participate in a Hollywood movie someday not? (Judy, 20, TP HCM)
– I would like to thank very much for your compliments. I did not think I have photogenic face first (laughs). Now I am not thinking of becoming an actor in Hollywood but want to concentrate with the singing. However, in the future if given the chance, I will try out for the movie industry.
David owns smile, friendly and children
You have a nice smile and friendly. You Americans do not look like much. You can share the root of your parents are not? (Huyen, 23, Go Vap, TP HCM)
– I would like to thank you for the compliment. I was born in Miami, Florida. My mother was born in America, originally from Honduras. My father came from Spain. You see, I’m American but my – Archuleta – native Spain.
– Hi David, I watched the video clip he sings “Fallin” in a contest many years ago, when he was about 10 years old. Do you think he has natural abilities or talents can be due to the hard work? (Beta Minh, 26, Q1, TP HCM)
– I think it is hard work, not innate. The hard work comes from passion, almost every day I practiced the song, love the singing. I never stopped singing and stopped composing. To be like today, I must be patient and exercise a lot!
– The Vietnam combat are lip. You become celebrities based on real voice in American Idol. What do you think the artist has a voice weak and often lip? (Huy Minh, 25, Hanoi)
– In American Idol, I totally sing it. So when you hear me sing, you can also get out, I sang a few wrong place (laughs). About the artist lip, I attributed the dance they encounter a difficult or emergency situations that do not perform the new song “live”. Actually nothing is perfect first.
I love his fashion style. He choose his costume while performing his or stylist decided by that?
– Thank you very much. Also the case only my friend, sometimes I choose to wear on stage, but mostly due to the stylist in charge of this.

I’m new to Vietnam should not know much about the fans here. But I hope that in the program tonight, I may be exposed and closer to the youth of Vietnam.

– Hi David, I remember these songs are “adults” which he performed in competitions like American Idol “Imagine”, “The long and winding road”, “Angels,” “Do not let the sun go down on me. ” Do not know why but I feel him with this music than the music for teenagers (like his first album). Does he have a mature album with such style? (Phuong Anh Nguyen, 24, Singapore)
– I sing those songs in the competition and I love deep feelings that they bring. Upon examination, you must follow a standard in the song. In the contest, I have more freedom to choose their favorite music. I still enjoy singing and writing pop music and lyrical music. Several weeks ago, I launched Everything and more, this new single is to prepare for the Asian tour, it carries echoes of pop music and very “adult”
– David can tell the moment makes you feel ashamed of it? (Nguyen Minh Ngoc, 17, Ayba_baya@yahoo.Com)

– Hi David, I look forward to working with the singer in the future? (Ngo Tuyet Trang, 16, HCMC)
– There are a few names such as Sara Bareilles, Natasha Bedingfield, John Mayer … These are the voices that I really wanted to work together in the future.
Hi David. His music is pure and gentle. But most of the singer who loves to dance and perform with the dancers on stage. I do not see him doing so. What advice he had for the artist in Vietnam, because they think, took the stage to perform with the troupe? (Tran Huu Phuoc, 19, 996, provincial road 10, Tan Tao Ward, KP7, Binh Tan District, HCM City)
– I think you have to start from emotion rather than an arrangement that. My music has always been uplifted by the moment. To achieve success, I do not think I need to dance. For example, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, John Mayer, Celine Dion, Jason Mraz …. do not have dance and still achieve success.
– Hi David! In everyday life, what is most important to him? (Hoang Manh Quan, 20, Hanoi)
– The most important thing to me is to keep faith in God, life, on the strength of his close family and life values that I believe.
– If you can return to your past, you want to change anything? (Phuong Thao, 23, Ella.Arashi @ yahoo.Com)
– I do not want to change anything in my past life. There are times when you encounter obstacles and find it difficult, but later in retrospect how they have overcome difficulties and how you will grow and improve.
David regrets because there is not much time for the interview online.
Tonight, on the first night in Vietnam, he is surprising given what Arch Archies Vietnam? There are four options: 1. He will invite an Arch Archie to perform a song? 2. When the Arch Archies below want you to sing again, he will sing 10 posts? 3. He will sing the National Anthem Vietnam with everyone? 4. I’ll take pictures along the Vietnam Fan Club David Archuleta on the stage? Thank you! (Lee Kuan Yew, 15, Long Bien, Hanoi, Vietnam)
– Eve today, I will bring many surprises. But if the fans singing my gut request, I will sing to you hear.
– I would say if you want to convince people who never knew him to the concert tonight? (Lan Anh, 19, TP HCM)
– I will tell them that music is very important to me. I love music and I like writing songs bring meaning to the lives of people. I went through a long flight halfway around the world to come and sing for hearing audiences Vietnam. I hope to bring you a night of many emotions.
I feel very excited because there are only a few hours is that I went on stage Stadium to sing the 7th Military Region for Vietnam listening audience. Again, I thank you for sending a lot of interesting questions to me. Unfortunately, time is running out. I hope to see you in concert tonight at 20h

VIETNAM: David Archuleta Live in Ho Chi Mihn City http://wp.me/p1E1iE-nV

Sky, ram, djafan…What just happened? David went up yet another step in his performance skills. The more he lets go the higher he climbs!
Sky, I thought that extra arm looked a bit weird too but now that I look at it I think maybe there’s a poster or picture on the wall behind them. Ya think? I can’t come up with any other reasonable explanation.
I wonder how a tour like this effects Davids earnings. It will be interesting to see….
In the mean time David is knocking it out of the park. I am happy for me because I get to watch this all unfold and I am probably even happier for David because I can see how much he is getting out of this on a personal level. Sometimes he looks like a little kid, but on the stage when he sings and lets it all out, it’s like he grows and becomes larger than life. It is an amazing transformation and I marvel everytime I see it happening.
Ay,caray! Peeps, the Principe has landed!! Why, oh why couldn’t I have flown to Vietnam to be there and see this live? Something happened there. Doncha think? I think I need to calm down.
Tessielynn- “It is an amazing transformation and I marvel everytime I see it happening.” You said it perfectly. One minute you see what looks like this little kid and then he gets on stage and woah he’s mesmerizing.
EWTRTW — My heavens, what is happening here? The overwhelming, unbridled, joyful exuberance exhibited by David in this performance is mind-boggling. He is obviously full of the happiness of life — dancing, turning, bouncing, hopping, skipping, swaying, swinging, back-stepping (I don’t even know what to call it), shoulder and head wiggling and just plain ‘stuff’. I can’t stop smiling at how much David loves performing and this song especially seems to mean so much to him. Every show he does in Asia is even better than the previous one — oh my, what will it be like when he gets to Malaysia? Go David — we are so proud!
Sorry, really . Was referring to Bebe’s second vid on #101. Also, thanks to all of David’s fans who are so giving of their time and for all their efforts.
I think my favorite pictures are those of David reaching out to his fans & the many hands that touch his..pretty much speaks volumes to me. He is loved beyond belief!
What Ever Happened to… David Archuleta?
July 22, 2011 03:20 AM EDT
What ever happened to David Archuleta? He’s just fine, thank you, and wowing his most adoring fans in Manila, Philippines, all this week. The American Idol runner-up has been floating under the radar the last few years, but it looks like he’s ready to take the world by storm, just as he should be.
The finale of the 2008 AI was one of the most watched, and most contested, finishes ever in the show’s history, always remembered as the battle between the “Two Davids.”
But his most die-hard fans will always say he was robbed and was clearly the most talented singer that year.
Flat album sales and little publicity since have proved the point that American fans have a short attention span. That’s why it’s so gratifying foreign fans have held on to their devotion to the 20-year-old phenom.
And there’s plenty of time to make a first “comeback” for one of the nicest guys ever to grace the Idol stage.
So David Archuleta is doing great and currently touring Asia on his Other Side of Down tour. Look for him to get back to the states soon. Maybe his fans at home can show the same kind of love? He sure deserves it.
Angelica! So I know you said you were telling the story with the pics and all….. and you put “The End” but oh my gosh!!!!! I think this is ‘JUST THE BEGINNING! ” LOL! holy smokes!!! soooo awesome! 😀 Way to go David! yay!
Angelica- “Once upon a time a Prince among men had a voice so beautiful, it carried him far away, all the way to the Far East.”
So begins this next chapter. It turns out that your story is true to life. I can hardly wait for the next chapter. And truthfully I don’t ever want this story to end.
Please David put out a single in Spanish. I watched the show Premio Juventud on Univision last night and I kept thinking about David’s talent and how the Spanish language audiences and all others around the world would be bowled over with this passionate weaver of words and emotions.
BEWARE of DM (private) Tweets from people you follow on twitter, The hacker has changed the “bait” from “Is this YOU in this video? ” to now offering drugs without a prescription. I just got one from someone I know. It’s happening to many, if not all who have twitter accounts. As long as you don’t click the link, you are fine. If you do, run your virus protection program ASAP. It may seem like a harmless site that you are directed to, but the reason they want you click is to tag your keystrokes. That’s right, its possible for a hacker to know everything you type once they have tagged your computer connection. They can then steal your passwords to everything you log into, such as online banking accounts.
NEVER click a link in a Direct Message. No matter if you think you trust the sender.
I just finished asking SF if she knew why Ben may have been sitting down for the concert. So in my search I found out on FOD that some of the band members have been sick. That answered my fear…
I hope that all goes well for them! Be healthy guys! I have heard of others who have done the same tour which is so far away to begin with in their travels and have become ill while performing…
Please take care of David. Watch over him, Protect him from all harm.
Cloak him with your love and give him the strength to endure all that is thrown in his path.
Give David the courage and guidance to say no to those who ask for more than he can reasonably give.
Surround David with loving and supportive people who will love him unconditionally as we, his archangels do.
Separate David from those who have agendas other than for his well being.
Give him comfort and rest when he’s weary and give him stamina to sustain his hectic pace.
Give David assurance when he feels doubt and give him joy when he feels sad as he gives joy to so many.
Cloak him always in your protective arms during this time on his journey throughout Asia.
Keep David and HIS VOICE healthy & strong as he fulfills his Destiny which is written in his Book of Life.
We ask that you bestow Special Blessings on David & the band for good heath as they continue on to Hanoi and Malaysia.
Though we may be unworthy, we humbly pray. Amen.
David, have a safe & uneventful flight to Hanoi. You are constantly in our thoughts & we are so happy to see your stay in Asia so far has been all you hoped it would be. All the photos & videos are indication that it has been! Continue having fun & please take care! Keep with you our love & prayers. You are Everything and More. Contigo Siempre!
Seems my twitter account was hacked & infected with an annoying virus. I must have received 50 DM’s on my phone telling me they couldn’t access the link I sent them! This was around 2AM when my cell phone started vibrating like crazy! And it happened AGAIN a little while ago, so I deleted my Twitter account. No biggie since I rarely tweet anyway, but in order to follow David, I have to have a twitter account. So I guess I will register with a different profile JUST FOR DAVID! Not having access to the Internet at work makes it imperative that I at least get David’s tweets!
So that’s my sad story for today. 😦
David was fantastic, awesome, sublime, energetic, mesmerizing, magnificent and totally out of this world amazing AGAIN! Why am I even surprised? Actually I wasn’t really surprised. He raises the bar for himself & surpasses it with each performance. Just amazing!
One more thing, I think I read somewhere the MOTAB CD/DVD can be pre-ordered now. Unless it was a dream? I have to look for that information again.
Most every twitter account is having the same issue. That’s why I posted about it. If you didn’t click any links, you are ok. I am sure Twitter is working on fixing the hack problem. It has happened before. Making a new account probably won’t change the situation right now.
Did you know that you tried to sell me Viagra? LOL
What an incredible spazztanstic week! Even before listening to all the video performances, I got CHILLS just from reading everyone’s comments about them and then to listen … well I am speechless! How does David make me fall in love all over again with each dynamic performance?
Angelica; … One can certainly feel the love for David after watching those video’s. Isn’t music a wonderful language that all cultures can relate to and so beautifully communicated by the one and only Voice?
Gayle; #34 … “And how in the world are we going to welcome him back to America after all this??” Djafan; #122 … “I need everyone to show up in droves to his first US appearance and go crazy for David!” I can’t help but linger on this. It sure would be wonderful to show that our (U.S.) love and support is as fiercely loyal and dedicated as the international fans. I like Cindy’s idea of an e-card but also wonder if something could be done for his 1st show which is the Arizona event right?
MunkFod; #35 … “He takes the time to touch other peoples lives”. <— So true! For as busy as he is, how tired he may be or how chaotic the fan frenzy and media barrage can get, I am amazed at his selflessness, attentiveness, genuine care and respect of other people’s feelings.
So many heart stopping photo’s but those Vietnam press ones (#29, #83, #84) were just lethal! How about if we all pinch in and hire a permanent official photographer to capture all his tours, media and press events, lol.
Is it just me or does it seem the band is catching David’s creative energy as I think I’m hearing a variation of their arrangements with each show? I'm liking the chemistry and think they compliment David without being overpowering.
SF; #133 … Your prayer is so timely especially after what SB shared in #132 … thank you.
Kaycee; … A little late but hope you had a wonderful birthday!
Abrra; … By the way, I really enjoyed your brilliant U-stream recap of the Manila concert and wondered how you were able to coherently put that together!
Sorry i posted before but did not register
Thanks to sweet1902. 19 minutes of david, from STR to everybody wants to rule the world.
Good audio, but you can still see David
Never seen him dance so much before, EWTRTW, STR, TOSOD. He was groovin’! I am officially in love with that “now-na-now-now-nowowow” at 3:13 of EWTRTW and that little spin move. 🙂 Praying we get to see this freer, looser, version of David on his US tour!!
I think he is running on pure adrenalin. Looked like he could take a tumble a time or two and missed a few lyrics. I do not know how he has kept up his schedule …the concerts, rehearsals, press conferences, mall appearances, book signings, and who knows what else… without complete exhaustion (not to mention the flight). Please David, take care of yourself and get plenty of rest to wrap up the last leg of this tour.
Agree, Emme.God love him!♥ he is giving them everything he’s got,and more!! David!♥
the band did such a beautiful job. hope they all feel much better tomorrow.
think SBL and TMH and ZG were songs the crowd knows well.
TMH
The security people are intense…. Staying in front of him wherever he goes, keeping the fans at bay.Back and forth back and forth…wow!
abrra, gonna need a slow-mo MGR of those smooth subtle hip and shoulder moves at the beginning of this video eeep!

Hi everyone,
I just have no word to explain how happy I am for the David and his trip to Asia and also for the fans here, it just blow my mind how much he’s loved and vice versa, he really is one of a kind (not even one in a million cause there’s no one like him) I now realize that our love and admiration for him will only grow and will never stop just because it’s who he is … the stranger who is the easiest person on the face of the earth to love (if that make sense lol).
I hope he has the best time in Viet Nam and here in Malaysia, and hope the rest of the world will wake up… take notice of how special David is, and (realize) how lucky they are to have David enriched their lives !!!

Why Vietnam “jubilantly” welcome David Archuleta
21/07/2011 21:35
“The Little Prince” was very friendly in an informal chat with reporters, in an exchange conference which took place several hours ago.

Woot Woot on David making the Forbes’s List!!
JMO.

Oh so many videos!

Oh Darn.

David Archuleta: ‘I’m successful because of hard work’
Except for the delay due to congestion, online interviews with 2008 American Idol runner-place full of friendly and professional. 20-year-old singer responded very quickly to questions and often dedicated readers angelic smile.
> D. Archuleta does not mind their music being processed too ‘clean’ / David ‘baby’ smooth sweat coming to Vietnam
– Hello, I have a question for you. Why do you want to become a singer? (The Bach, 20, Hanoi)
– I like the feeling of happiness that music brings to me. Become a singer, I can express voice, my feelings through music and emotion to begin with many people.
From age 6, in one go see the musical Les Miserables at The Theater in the state of Utah, I wish I would grow up to become a singer.
– I have a girlfriend yet? Most times he would have to choose between going crazy and you love dating? (Ngo Thien Dang, 18, Thelostworld.Dx @ gmail.Com)
– I never had a girlfriend. Since I have never encountered Keeble difficult cases that (laughs). But I had composed a song to say the mood of the meeting and I want that song called “My kind of perfect.”
Like a trip to Asia to tour, before departing, stylist helped me prepare all the costumes. But I choose to bring a jacket that I like.
– The difference between Vietnam fans and fans in Asian countries like Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, What? (T Phan Xuan Minh, 19, Phu Nhuan District, HCM City)
– Fans in each country has its own character. Fans Vietnam distinctive, very excited. One example is when I was down to the airport was very enthusiastic reception. I’m new to Vietnam should not know much about the fans here. But I hope that in the program tonight, I may be exposed and closer to the youth of Vietnam.
– Because you’re Hispanic, you play guitar good, right? (Do Phuong, 16, Ha Noi)
– Spain is not where I was born. I play guitar and I hope to play better.
– I never felt ashamed of the work done. The difficulty in life is the challenge to help you grow. And those moments that make me a better understanding of life.
– I heard him singing “Contigo En La Distancia” and saying that he sang great. Do you think one day will be a Spanish album or not? (Bree, age 13, Tan Phu)
– Thank you very much. I was eager to make a music album Spain – language of my father. I can not wait anymore, but look forward to doing it right.

It may seem like a harmless site that you are directed to, but the reason they want you click is to tag your keystrokes. For David and companions…
Lord,
Please take care of David.

Good night all. Work tomorrow. BAH!

Lots of notes 🙂 I was doing a set list and put some notes next to the songs. Then I just got so caught up in the concert, I had to do a recap.

Thanks SF!
