I gotta tell ya I’m a little too not over the concert in Jakarta and now we have Manila to get through. I can hardly get through “Gotta Get Through This” (the ending holla is totally unfair.)
One thing is sure: we are in for IT, with a capital I and that stands for
He is crazy good and getting better. Check out the videos on this thread and have mercy, cause there is more to come. Much, much more. Oh yeah. We got Trouble right here in ArchuCity. And it starts with T and that rhymes with D and that stands for David. David Archuleta is evolving again and there’s no turning back. Just sit back, buckle up, and enjoy the ride. Welcome to your life.
Today a book signing in a mall where folks have been lined up for hours. Tomorrow, another concert at Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Manila. Capacity: 40,000.
Oh yeah, we got trouble my friends. He is the Music Man.

O my!!! It is finally here and 19 songs!!!!!!!!!! How are we going to survive??? But I am ready….ustream bookmarked, twitter feed on other screen to follow along and alarm set for 8:00 am here in Utah:)))) I hope I can get some sleep so I will be alert and wide eyed for this epc event:)))) I so enjoyed staying up and watching the ustream of his arrival in Indonesia-what we don’t do for our man!!!! It was awesome:) He so deserves this.
So thankful my grandsons baseball game isn’t until noon or I might have had to miss all the excitement in the morning in Archuland!!! All I have to do now is keep my hub busy so I am not disturbed during the concert, but I will somehow!

Up early Sat, and thought it’d be a good time to catch up a little here, and get ready for later~whoohoo.
Was recently trying to answer the bf’s question to me “what IS it” about David that has made the “fanaticism”…”Elvis and Beatles”-like.
I told him, first, that’s a topic that gets discussed constantly, as we all try to put our collective fingers on it, and somehow will always fall a little short..you can’t always pinpoint that kind of “magic”…nor should you be able to.
…and there are many many elements to what has charmed and captured many about David..
But as I look at these shots today…. I think in particular to the beginning, and his “message” in singing Imagine….his ensuing embracing of other cultures, charities, foods of all cultures etc etc…when people adopted the “One Love, One World, One David”…they got it.
Speaks to a lot of hearts, this little Pied Piper of positivity..”ha ha.” (it’s early…I may sound silly at this hour…)
I’m still learning myself as I watch and follow in wonderment …what IT is……..but, for sure, to me…he has it.

there are 10-hour time difference with Jakarta, Buenos Aires is 11 am in Jakarta is 9 pm. I’m ready.

I got gifts. The book is going to Mexico, to Victor, has no money to buy it, and the CD is going to Colombia, my friend does not have money and there, in Colombia, is not got the first cd of david. I send her a treasure. (Her words).
They are very happy, thank you Ray, we’ve made happy, two beautiful people in the archuworld. And I keep the photos as a national treasure, are for me.
I hope you agree with this decision I ever made.

Well said. His voice was so gorgeous and what emotional power he transmitted to the audience here and there in that Jakarta performance. Can’t wait to see and hear the other vids coming esp. GGTT (I have to verify to myself that the ending was real.)
He looked amazing too, with that shirt blowing in the breeze. He actually found a shirt that totally matches the color of his lips. See #54 and the 6th pic down in #78 for proof. 🙂
Have to go out for a while on a few errands and hoping to see more vids when I return. Hoping to see a lot of you guys in Unplugged tonight too, for Jakarta vids and to talk about “what just happened.” He brought never before seen or heard swagga and holla and I need to debrief or decompress or defib or something. I felt it too. I remember David saying just 2 days ago that he spoke to MJ on the phone once.
I got a chill when I saw the shirt blow back from the draft. I didn’t realize they had a wind machine on stage, so it was quite a moment. I was sure that MJ was watching and gave David a nod of recognition for his talent and showmanship last night.
David sang Nature Boy as a young teen. It rivals the original.

One of the many special characteristics I see in David, as someone else mentioned, is his openness to trying new things whether music, food, languages or customs. I say “bravo” David for your fearlessness and goodwill in all the countries you have visited.
His heart and soul are just breathtaking and expansive that he can see humanity in it”s goodness. It makes me feel so happy and proud.

Ok…back up to #5…I love that interview…so cute between them…(like the Jakarta version of the Shelly-Christmas one from 2 yrs ago :))..but besides all that…may I just say…Mr. Man of the World does an impressive job with every language I ever hear him speak. And if I’m guessing I’d say, out of respect for each country, he’d practice until he could perfectly speak.

Still trying to digest this concert while waiting for more videos. I know that David is trying to discover his own sound but I never expected this! It’s early morning in Jakarta and I heard that David and his crew left Indonesia shortly after the show and are headed to Manila. This show was dynamite. The tour is going to be nothing short of epic. I hope the Manila show is filmed by a professional videographer so it could be sold to us. They’d make a mint off of us, don’t they realize it????

Yes, the the Showbiz Shelly interview, when David turned the tables on Shelly and threw back at her the same lame question, “So how was YOUR first kiss?’ In this interview, since the journalist was also a singer, he said “I want to hear YOU sing!” after she asked him to sing something. He may have looked a little uncomfortable during the interview but he was in charge.

David Archuleta talks about his new journey as an independent singer-songwriter as he gears up for his upcoming concert in Kuala Lumpur.
David Archuleta has the buoyant wholesomeness of a Disney Channel pin-up. Blessed with boyish good looks and soothing, vanilla vocals, the childlike singer with the cute charisma has come a long way since he first stole our hearts on the seventh season of American Idol.
After a brief episode with a paralysed vocal chord that nearly destroyed his singing dream at age 13, young Archuleta emerged the runner-up on the hit reality series just five years later. Now at 21, after a highly successful self-titled debut album, which sold nearly a million copies worldwide, his season CD Christmas From The Heart (2009) and last year’s The Other Side Of Down, Archuleta is ready to go his own way.
Last February, it was announced that the engaging performer from Utah in the United States has been dropped by Jive Records, his label since 2008. Archuleta also left his management, Wright Entertainment Group in the same month to pursue what he called, “a new direction.”
Free as a bird: Now at 21, David Archuleta is ready to go his own way with his music career.
It’s a certain change of environment, but if the wide-eyed singer has anything to say about it, it’s a positive one.
“A lot of people were surprised to hear that I’m not with Jive Records (owned by Sony Music Entertainment) anymore. But it wasn’t like that. I’ve actually been offered a different deal to still stay signed with Sony but I just felt like I haven’t been happy for the past one or two years and I haven’t been going the direction I’ve been wanting to go,” said Archuleta in a recent phone interview from Nashville, Tennessee.
“Ever since Idol, it was like go-go-go-go-go; do this, do that! There were so many people telling me what I should be doing and what’s going to make me successful but I didn’t actually have the time to think about what I really wanted to do,” he added.
Just like his affable persona, the singer was chirpy and candid throughout this interview.
“I was under a lot of pressure and I didn’t know what to do. I was just so confused…. Now, I finally feel like I’m breathing oxygen again and I’m free to be myself again.”
While his heart is still set on singing, Archuleta said he is not looking to be signed under a new label at the moment.
“I’ve learned a lot from the industry since Idol but right now, I need space to grow as a musician and to try to find my own sound. I want to spend time just writing and putting songs together, and then go out to record labels and say: I’m ready to make an album now. This is the music that I want to do – do you believe in me?”
For now, he is working towards writing his own music with songwriters from the musical city of Nashville.
“I love the vibe here,” he said with typical candour. “It felt like magic the first time I came here and that’s why I’ve been coming back over and over again.”
While country music remains synonymous with the city, Archuleta said the local music scene has a healthy variety of pop, punk and rock.
“There are so many types of different musicians out here. Ke$ha, Kings of Leon and Paramore are all from here.”
But despite his inherent optimism, the singer isn’t afraid to admit that his transition from manufactured pop star to independent songwriter has not been all smooth sailing.
“I was always so afraid to do this before, making decisions for myself because there was always someone else making decisions for me,” he shared.
Archuleta, who began performing publicly at 10 when he participated in the Utah Talent Competition (and won the children’s division), also revealed it is hard for him to finish a song on his own.
“I have a lot of ideas that I’m really excited about but I’m still trying to figure out my sound and what I really want to say in my songs. Hopefully, some of the writers I’m meeting will be able to get the songs I want to write out of me. I want to be able to connect with my fans and reach as many people as I can.”
“I love Adele so much and people love her because she puts her heart into her songs and you can hear how much feeling she puts into it. I wanna be able to do that.”
Pop fans can breathe easy, though, for Archuleta will not abandon his pop roots just yet.
“I still love pop music. That’s what I’ve always been doing but I want to work harder on my vocals. I want to put more focus on my voice instead of all the beats and sounds that technology can add to a track.”
“People didn’t vote for me on Idol because of who I was working with or the kind of tracks I was singing. They voted for me because they liked my voice.”
The best part about making music on his own is that he doesn’t have to meet anybody’s expectations anymore, he said.
“This is all coming from me, from my heart.”
Faith also takes precedence for the singer.
“No one guides me better than God. I could be going so many different ways and it’s scary because I could mess things up and I’m not sure exactly what’s going to happen, but with God, I feel good about what’s going on and the decisions I’m making.”
His family background is also a strong one.
“My family has been consistently there for me. My parents, especially, they’ve been extremely supportive because they just care and it means a lot that there are people who care about you and who are there for you.”
Archuleta also revealed there’ll be another album on the way but added with a tinge of prudence, “just not this year.”
“Right now, I’m thinking of releasing just another song for fans who’ve been so patient and so good to me.”
Besides writing songs, he is also working on shows for the Christmas holiday season.
“There could even be a Christmas release, even if it’s just a little one,” he hinted.
But his Malaysian fans won’t have to wait that long, for the congenial singer will be back to perform his first full concert here on July 26 at Stadium Negara in Kuala Lumpur.
Archuleta, who was last here in April 2009 for a mini showcase in Sunway Lagoon in Selangor said he is very excited about his upcoming concert.
“I was sweating a lot the last time I was in Malaysia but it felt so good. It was such a fun experience to meet my fans and it’s great to be able to come back and do a full show. There will also be a full band this time around.”
Fans of Archuleta can expect a performance filled with breezy, light-hearted numbers from all his albums at the concert.
Organised by Sony Music Entertainment, Malaysia, David Archuleta’s concert will be held at Stadium Negara, Kuala Lumpur on July 26 (8pm). Tickets are priced at RM300 (for VIP), RM230 and RM190 for numbered seats, and RM150 and RM90 for free seating. All prices exclude RM3 ticket handling fees. Tickets are available at Ticket Charge (www.ticketcharge.com.my) and AirAsia RedTix outlets (www.AirAsiaRedTix.com).

Oh my…..I just can’t even process this concert yet. The Ustream BLEW my mind. His voice was FLAWLESS. And now the pics and vids of the emotion and swagga and holla (thanks Angelica!) His talent is limitless. The new songs are so beastly epic that they need a freakin cage. I can’t believe I worried if he’d hit those high notes in E&M. I was such a fool. ALWAYS trust The Archuleta. We knew they’d come to life once David sang them live. But knowing it and seeing it happen are two different things. I love how he told the Asian fans that the songs are for them. He’s so endearing; such a gentleman and a gem.
About the MJ reference…by the time the Asian tour is over, okay I’ll say it…I predict some new dance moves, inspired by MJ. David is loosening up onstage this tour. What a wise choice to go to Asia where he has a whole nation of fans, gain more confidence in his stage skills and then bring it all back home.

So glad I got to see the ending of the show here, after Crush, his exit (cellcast cut out before that for me)
Gave me chills on so many levels. Pure David…donning the blankgon (which I didn’t even know what one was ’til now…kid’s schoolin’ me), taking as many gifts as he possibly can, likely appreciating how important it is to the people who took the care to bring them…and the love, respect and adoration back, he SO deserves. Chills still…the fireworks (I love fireworks)…for whatever reasons I just felt it all as he ran around that stage. Great vibe. and David purely in his rightful element.
Maybe THAT’S the ‘magic’ he talked about feeling over there. And of course…he’s the magic. 😉

The 20-year-old American Idol 7th season runner-up is back in the Philippines for a one night concert in Manila on July 18, 2011, 8 p.m. at the Araneta Coliseum.
David will serenade his Filipino fans with new songs from his latest album ‘The Other Side of Down’ including his latest hits ‘Something ’Bout Love’ and ‘Falling Stars.’ Fans can also expect previous hits from his self-titled album David Archuleta.

i was limited to 10 mins.. but they used 2 mins for intros andwhat not..dang … i think i submitted 18 questions, they chose only 5 that i could ask..but i think was able to ask more … and yes.. the questions I asked were from all of you guys!

Archuleta arrives in Manila for Araneta Coliseum concert
MANILA, July 17 (PNA) — American Idol Season 7 finalist and first runner-up David Archuleta arrived Sunday afternoon in Manila for a solo concert on Monday, July 18, at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
Archuleta, who is in his third visit to the country, arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 at around 1:05 p.m. aboard Singapore Airlines flight 910.
Archuleta’s fans, who patiently waited for several hours outside the NAIA terminal, shrieked after the American Idol finalist waved his hand towards them.
”Mabuhay! Nice to be back here in Manila,” Archuleta said before he boarded a waiting car.
However, before Archuleta got out of the terminal, one of his bodyguards gave chase to an unidentified cameraman after the latter tried to record Archuleta’s passport at the immigration zone.
It was later learned from Archuleta’s group that filming of the celebrity’s passport was not permissible.
The cameraman was earlier briefed regarding the coverage that taking pictures or filming such personal information of the celebrity was strictly prohibited.
When confronted, the cameraman denied and even volunteered to show what he had recorded in his camera to the chasing bodyguard. (PNA)
