David will be at the Celebrity Basketball game for Duffy’s Hope in Delaware today. There is a sold out VIP where many are attending. He will be presented the list of all the TOSOD CD donors to the Children’s Hospital at the VIP.
Celebrity Basketball Game
The mission of Duffy’s Hope, Inc. is to advance community hope by fostering the academic achievement and social enrichment of at-risk youth through advocacy, education, mentoring and community outreach. To meet our mission, our year-round H.O.P.E. (Helping Our young People Excel) Mentor Program, in partnership with Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Delaware, has been active and growing for more than ten years. Additionally, Duffy’s Hope, Inc. facilitates an eight-week summer basketball program for area at-risk boys; we proudly announced our first girls’ league this season. The focus of both of our programs is to provide intervention, resources and safe-havens for area youth The annual celebrity basketball game has become a major resource of promoting the importance of adult involvement in the lives of youth and the need for continual financial support of youth based programs. Money generated from the celebrity games help to maintain our youth programs and allow Duffy’s Hope, Inc. to expand its services throughout the state.

I admit it, I am a little disappointed he isn’t playing. Wonder if he will sing the SSB, or maybe halftime entertainment; he would sell a ton of concessions going up and down the stands, how bout ref..he has experience. He mentioned cheering from the sidelines, backflip maybe? Or he could sing the cheers, from a megaphone.
Anytime a good cause is being helped and we get to see David, it’s a good day.

Bummer about him not playing basketball. Ah well, we live in hope. I wonder if that tweet was a disclaimer to show up without dressing out in shorts. Might be we may see him play a little anyway. Just hoppin’ on amidst a crazy Saturday to see if there are any David sightings yet. That’s awesome that Lupe could go with him.
I had no idea where this event was taking place…I just realized that our family used to go to the beach every summer just a few miles south of there at Rehoboth or Dewey Beach. It’s a beautiful seaside area–I think David will love it!
Wish I could stick around for updates…oh well, I’ll have to catch up tonight. Play Ball!

Hey guys, I just got home and I couldn’t believe my ears! I just heard “Stomping the Roses” being played at Toys R Us tonight! Oh, it sounded soooo goood! This is the very first time I’ve heard any songs played from TOSOD on the radio. I’m spazzing … could it be that finally the radio will be playing more of David’s music because at this point I’ve been so disgusted with the radio stations that I’ve essentially stopped listening to them.

Last night was just sheer fun & I cannot imagine another celeb who would have been such a great sport, a great example and then to top it off with “Ribbon” just made my night. The tweetfest was hilarious. David’s fans are the absolute best and we get it all from him. Cheers to Lupe too! Loved it all.

David and basketball…
First off, David is a major athlete and with his speed and agility plus his smarts and instincts, he would be a wonderful player only if…he had had the time. You could see it in his moves, his handling of the ball, he has it all there. If he was a hockey player, he would be very fast, have a beautiful stride, fake the best of them, find the holes to sink the puck and deke away from the big ones gunning for him. I just think that he would be a super athlete if he just had the time to work on the skills of any sport.
He does the long distance run, snowboards, rollerblades and I would imagine that he has had a hockey stick in his hands. We also know that he practices his baseball swing and that is probably just the very beginning of his list.

So it’s Christmas again in Archieville. Spent the day opening all the presents. Just one cherished gift after another. Whew!!
For just a moment I wondered if he was looking pale, then realized it was the Archieglow still intact.
Mulder’s photobucket slide show available here at #84 is just unbelievably beautiful. I will pack up those pictures and keep them safe.
All of those short videos of the game are like single flowers for Abrra to gather together and make us a bouquet. Thanks for sharing your talents with us. The Ribbon in the Sky mashup is great!
I have my Stadium of Fire tickets hanging on the wall by my computer. I put them there so that I won’t forget to go.

okay so let me start off first by saying that this was, by a comfortable mile, the most hilarious archie event i have ever been to. we were sitting right across from the sidelines (where he was the majourity of the game, big suprise) so i creepily watched him and took mental notes/ lots of pictures for you guys
* he was player #7
* he only played for about 1 quarter, which took a TON of convincing. he protested like none other.
* when he did play, it was a hot mess. i think he ran the ball the wrong way at one point.
* he body checked another player (by accident of course) and the ref called a foul. the speakers yelled out “PERSONAL FOUL, MR ARCHULETA” and he threw his hands in the air and yelled “WHAT DID I DO!?!” (theres a pic of that below)
* he got bored watching halfway through and started entertaining himself by making funny faces and tapdancing under his seat
* if he accidentally hit someone he would apologize profusely
* he tried to look like he was watching the game by counting the players (this happened about 5 different times)
* that kid can RUN. he would be unenthusiastically playing the game one second, but then the next he would be racing down the court. convinced he is part gazelle.
* also while on the sidelines, i noticed that he would be spacing out staring in the distance. the game would be at one end of the court, his eyes were at the other.

Did I ever tell you, you are my HERO! 😉 You are absolutely beyond priceless. You went to entertain at a charity function and found yourself having to go a thousand miles outside of your comfort zone and despite your many, many fruitless protests were the main attraction.

“Let me start by saying, I have met David numerous times at rushed meet n greets where I have 30 seconds to talk to him about various projects. This was the most relaxed meet n greet I had ever been to which was PERFECT because it made it less nerve wracking for me!!
Here’s my story to all of you…the generous fans I did this for. My goal was for David to see just how special and successful this project was, all because of you guys!!
I will try to keep this short haha
It started out as a rainy 2 hour drive down to Delaware. On the way, I tested my phone to see if the twitvid worked by uploading a video of my adorable son at his ice skating lesson. Needless to say, doing this drained most of my battery!! So, when I was next in line to see David to talk to him, my phone died!! Thank gosh for @Maureen_abms who graciously took all these photos with her phone. There was not enough time to plan video. So, here’s my conversation the best I remember it!

I haven’t had time to comment, but I have truly appreciated all the wonderful fans who have kept us all updated on David’s fun adventure yesterday…and what an adventure! Who’d a thunk?! Boy he surely keeps us guessing as to what he’s going to do next! For someone who rarely sticks a toe out of her comfort zone, I am so impressed and touched at his willingness to participate like he did–such a good sport! Such a good guy! And how he whips out those impromptu songs…I’ll never know! That RIIS was absolutely amazing! How he can stand there in that little restaurant in front of a hand full of people and just GO FOR IT blows me away! The best is yet to come…I can just feel it!

I have a problem, though. I wonder if anyone can help me with it. I have an iphone and have been getting David’s tweets fine since I got the iphone a week and a half ago. Then about 4 days ago they stopped coming. I don’t get any of his any more. Has that happened to anybody else? What do you supposed happened? Is there anything I can do to fix it? Sorry to bother, but I am so missing out!

Sometimes things get wonky with data from twitter. Try going back to twitter and re enter your info to have his tweets sent to your phone number. It may have got crossed up in a server upgrade or such mystical things as that.

Just caught Part2 of “Ribbon”(not to mention his blog-version tease!)via David’s tweet. I don’t know what I love more…his impromptu performance or the audience’s willld Davidluv! …luv when people show the Davidluv.
The crowd: “yAAAAy DaviD!!..THAT’S HOW YOU TURN IT OUT! YEAAAA” ..then I thought…I sounded similar to that 3 years ago, in front of my t.v. set after his final hunkerdown Shop Around notes. *sigh* n’ nothin’s changed since.
(not to be completely dumb here, but why was he singing into someone’s phone?)

Hey Silverfox! Just recently I was trying to remember what the other names were other than David that people had called him, and the only one I could remember was Steven. So of course I had to laugh out loud to be reminded of the rest of them. You are so funny. I miss you!!
Please excuse me, but I have to share some personal happy, exciting news to you! Some of you may remember that I was oh so sad because I felt like I couldn’t go to the Stadium Of Fire concert on July 2nd because of a family reunion our family was hosting that same weekend. Well, yesterday while talking to my sister in Portland about the reunion I asked if her son and his family were coming in from New York. When she said she didn’t think they were going to be able to come after all I reminded her that the only reason we were having it over July 4th was because her son said last fall that was the best time for them to come. Then I mentioned David’s concert that I had wanted to go to on the Saturday night of the July 1-4 reunion. To my absolute surprise and shock really she said so sincerely and directly, “Patti, you need to GO SEE DAVID, I mean it, you need to do the things in your life right now that are so important to you!” Well,I burst into tears because she was the one I was worried about the most not being happy if I didn’t join the family that night for outdoor games. I immediately called my angel friend, Shawna, who had purchased a ticket for me “just in case” and couldn’t even talk for a minute because of the tears. So, I AM GOING to SOF after all Angelica, and I am so happy about it I could scream. Sorry, just had to share.
These last few days have been so much fun for me because of Duffy’s Hope that even having chemo yesterday didn’t bother me at all because I had received David’s tweet about him singing RITS in his vlog and couldn’t wait to get home to see it. I was blown away. He never ceases to amaze me. I don’t know if I have ever mentioned to anyone here how much I LOVE that special guy David Archuleta!! haha
