David Archuleta’s Performance Of Imagine On American Idol Season 9 Top 9 Results Show
Vocal prodigy, David Archuleta, made another triumphant return to the American Idol stage during Season 9’s Top 9 Results Show on April 7th.
Seated quietly at the piano, he performed another inspiring version of John Lennon’s “Imagine”, once again reminding all of us that he is a force to be reckoned with. The sophistication and poise he brings to this performance is pretty amazing. How he is able to pack so much into one song and yet make it sound flawless and effortless is beyond me. He is truly a rare and precious gem in the musical world.
And yet, not only is this genuine young man supremely talented, but also he is a kind and gentle human being who is extremely humbled and thankful for the prodigious musical gift bestowed on him at birth.
He is so approachable and so gracious to everyone – is it any wonder that he is collecting more and more fans with each passing day?

And now we hear from David Archuleta, singing “Imagine.” This should be special. On the piano no less.
Listen up, Aaron Kelly. This is what you’ve been aspiring to. Two years ago, this is the song that made David a favorite on American Idol. And he sure didn’t forget how to sing it, huh?
Pretty special, just like I predicted. David always displayed wonderful vocals on Idol. And he was always at his best performing sensitive songs like that one.
David says he’s always nervous in front of the judges, afraid of the critique to come. Really, David, you’d have nothing to worry about after a performance like that. Trust me, it would have ranked as one of the best in season nine.
And great news for David fans. A new single and a new album should be coming soon.

David Archuleta returned for the perfect “American Idol” week that celebrated Beatles songs, which meant he dusted off “Imagine.”
He attacked the song with his typical earnest enthusiasm, but this time, it was old-school John Lennon-style with the piano accompaniment.
Archie really worked well with the simplicity of the song, and it’s easy to see why his fans are still devoted to him.

Fans from around the world have been waiting to hear this heartthrob once again on the stage and he had his moment. A popular Idol and runner up from season 7, he didn’t disappoint his fans when he hit the stage. Absolutely inspiring it was a great night for Idol music with his sitting in front of the piano and belting the words out.
The song Archulata sang for the crowd for tonight was the Beatles hit “Imagine”. A moving performance, it was nothing less than a perfect.

David James Archuleta is unbelievable. This performance is my favorite all time ever, ever! Best version of Imagine! The grace and subtlety and power and passion and beauty… I feel like I got hit in the face with a 2X4! It was beautiful and moving and honest and real and he sang it as it should be sang as he always does but he changed it AGAIN and added his own special Archuleta style that no one, absolutely no one on this planet has!
It was more than I had hoped for, had dreamed of, and that is saying alot! I cannot even begin to comprehend the future that he has ahead of him, he is already light years beyond the bulk of his peers.
And gorgeous, did I mention gorgeous, soulful, mature, masculine, piano playing, gorgeous masterclass artist… at 19yrs old!
I can’t take it, and can’t stop watching.
(and I ain’t saying a word about that neck and those shoulders!)

Last night was magical in so many ways. David got the opportunity to show the world how far he has progressed in his artistry. He overcame his nervousness before the “judges” be they behind the desk or in front of their TV’s. Fans saw him in a new light. More mature in look and style. Very cool vibe at the piano, relaxed as he sang his signature song. Those who were on the fence about his talent fell head first in love!
Our anticipation for his book and Cd has now been tempered with the chance to see him on TV again. He knows when to “give” when we need it the most.

Allow me to restate the obvious. David’s performance last night underscored what we have known for 2 years. David is without peer as a singer and stylist on the music scene today. The contrast between David’s minimalist, wonderful performance , and the other 2 pretentious, over blown , “in your face” theatrics, said it all.
I caught the looks on the faces on some of the Season 9 contestants during David’s performance. I think it was a feeling of relief that David didn’t decide to wait until this year to audition for the show. There are no “David Cooks” this year, and even the crooks that run American idol could not have denied David the title this year.
Having David on the show is a double edged sword for AI. On one hand, he elevates the show just by walking on to the stage, and gives the show much needed class and dignity. On the other hand, it exposes AI for the “shlock-fest” it really is, something that was evident before and after David’s all too brief time on last night’s show.

Good afternoon! The sight of David last night, at that grand piano, the size of a car (to quote Abrra) showed that he has arrived and is a serious singer/songwriter. I stayed up too late last night reading reviews and comments. The consensus of opinion is that people who are new viewers of American Idol were blown away by his performance. I hope Yoko Ono and Paula Abdul were watching last night; they would have been filled with pride. I know I was.

What I heard today with Ryan Seacrest was the “new” more mature David that matches the visuals of last night’s performance. We learned much about how his life has changed, yet his soul is right where it should be.

Having heard the interview with Seacrest, I have concluded that Ryan has been told to “cool down” the enthousiasm for David on AI. The radio interview clearly demonstrates Ryan’s affection and respect for David, while his AI persona regarding David borders on the disrespectful. A new viewer would never conclude that David is the most popular contestant in the history of the show based on his on stage treatment by Seacrest and, even more so, the judges. Where was Randy last night? Randy raved about David week after week, yet he is yet to make any comment on David’s visits back to the show.
And, what about Kara? She WROTE “To Be With You” and sang the duet part on the CD, yet she sat there without uttering a word last night. Ellen has a “Mormon” problem, due to their official any-gay position, but there is not a more non-judgmental person on earth than David. Shame on her for her dismissive tone last night. Simon is, well, Simon, so I’ll give him a pass because he’s that way with every previous contestant that comes back.
I”m loving the rave reviews David has gotten. I guess we’re not just a bunch of nutty fans after all (LOL). Bring on that book and new CD.

It has been a tough week for our family. The return of a life threatening illness, an accidental death and some serious unravellings of a solid marriage have left me a mess. I have spent the week in a zombie-like state, neither eating, sleeping or caring.
I was happy, in a dazed way, that David would be singing on AI but disappointed it was Imagine. There was, however, no way I was going to miss it. I pulled my stool a foot from the screen in anticipation.
Then he was on. Oh my. Immediately, his warm, gossamer voice was wrapping itself around me and I was comforted. His beautiful smile lit up the stage (and my heart). Imagine is such a message of hope, and boy, did I need to feel some hope. I thought I knew what I would hear when David sang Imagine last night, but David knows what we need to hear, and I heard it.
I had a good night sleep last night, got up and had a bagel with cream cheese. (Both halves :))Thank you David. You change me and my life.

Blog From David – 4/8/10
Helloooo everyone. I wanted to check in really quick and let you know about my time yesterday back at the American Idol studios. I had such a great time!!
I have to admit being on that stage again shook me and my nerves up pretty good. I wasn’t sure what was going on with my mind. Just seeing the audience, the contestants, and then the judges was so weird lol. But I saw Ellen smiling right before I started and it made me feel better haha. But I haven’t really performed Imagine very much in the last couple of years since I had sung it twice on Idol, and now it’s 3 times. But it was such a privilege to get to sing it again, because I think it’s a song with a message that’s important for people to hear again right now. It also reminded me of how much that song meant to me, and to again show people what I love about what music can do for others.
So while I was at the studios, I got to meet all of the contestants. I was on my way to get something from my hotel room, and saw them all standing outside waiting for rehearsal. I got out of the car and ran out to say hi to all of them really quick. A group of cool people! And they sure did really well this week. I’m really glad that the judges decided to use the save this week with big Mike because that was pretty intense lol. Anyway, I also got to see all of the crew again! my old studio teacher who now is Katie and Aaron’s teacher was there, along with all the stage managers, producers, security, cleaners, technicians, and so many more people. I forgot how many people were involved to make the show happen, and I was glad to see them all.
My mom decided the day before to drive down with my grandpa and sister to come see the show since my mom’s dad has never attended an Idol show. It was fun having them there, along with some of my friends. It was a fun night to perform and have them there since Jason Derulo and Rihanna were there. Jason and I both performed at Jordin Sparks’ charity event back in February, and he is seriously one of the coolest, friendliest artists out there. A really nice guy, and my little sister
loves him lol. I also had the chance to meet Rihanna who was also really nice (and tall, but she had really high heels on. She’s still taller than me either way.) But it was just a fun day yesterday! I
hope those of you who watched it enjoyed it! I love getting to sing a song like that, and hope to find more songs like that in the future to perform for you guys Smile.
Another thing I got to do this week was go to the Five For Fighting concert with Matt Wertz opening for them! It was such a goooood concert!! Matt invited me to go and it is one of my favorite concerts
I’ve attended! The music was just so good, and it just moves you. Some of my friends came with me and were introduced to some great music. You guys ought to check both of them out if you haven’t yet! One of the dances at my high school actually had a Matt Wertz song as the theme haha. That’s how I first found out about his music, and now I’ve gotten the chance to write with him and hang out with him. And as you may know from going to the Christmas tour, I performed a Five for Fighting song called The Riddle during those concerts. When I was watching that show, it made me really think, “Man, I hope to be able to do that with my own music and writing some day.” John Ondrasik (from
Five for Fighting) really does that with the songs that he writes. He tells amazing stories in them that just really hit you and make you think and feel. But really it was a great great show!
Well that’s all I had to say for now! I wanted to let you guys know I had a great time at Idol, and now after a meeting and some interviews today I’m off to a writing session. Tomorrow I’ll be singing at the
half time game for the Utah Blaze, which will be fun to support a Utah team haha. One of my really good friends is such a Blaze fan, and I’m doing it in honor of him. It’ll be great to be with my family tomorrow too since it’s my mom’s birthday. But I better get going to this writing session, and I’ll talk to you guys later!

I just finished watching David’s performance again. And again, I thought he did an amazing job. He was a little nervous but only his fans who listen to him over & over and know how he sings every note & every little nuance can tell. All the fans-to-be who watched would have no clue. 🙂
David’s hair was a shock at first, but he wears it well and it “grow” on all who are having a little problem with it. I loved what he chose to wear, except for one little detail. If I had dressed him, I would have chosen a WHITE skinny tie instead of the wide striped tie, however he still looked great! And I loved the shoes with no socks ( at least it looked like no socks ).
I also listened to his interview with Ryan…OH MY!! He is no longer a kid. He is pretty much in control as his dad is no longer on his management team. I love that he knows it’s up to him as to what direction his career goes now. He is turning into a mature, savvy businessman taking care of HIS business which very well may be a huge multimillion dollar business in the future. I’ve always said David is responsible for many people who are dependent on him. He said decisions he makes now can & will affect many others. What’s really great and what made me admire him even more, if that’s possible, is that he is aware and he’s up to the challenge. I love that whatever he does in the future will have his stamp on it. He said he is in a new phase and it’s a new time for him! How very exciting is that?!

Last night was sensational in every way…
We came together from several fan sites and have since then written back and forth to friends in all of those places about our one special person, David. It has been a long while since so many of us have come together to chat and it was a glorious occasion.
The HD video is gorgeous as well as the pictures that have surfaced and can be seen here. My husband said that he wished that he had as many friends as I do because when you are a true fan of David you have so many friends worldwide!
The reviews coming in (as well as the Seacrest interview) are delightful and the individual reviews as seen on all of our sites are exciting, so please check them out. I believe that we have matured and grown in our own talents and artistry right along with David. He is the most unique, inspirationl person I have ever known.
I have enjoyed the writings by Bliss, ronaldsf and many others putting into words David’s presentation of ‘Imagine’ and all the thoughts that go with it.
I am most amazed by the attention that he has received from fans around the world who have been just as ecstactic as all of us here…

David’s interview with Ryan was one of the highlights of the day. You can hear how much he’s matured in the way he answers questions. He barely hesitates anymore and is more self-assured. He wears confidence very well! Among his other fine attributes, David is very loyal to his family. I enjoyed hearing him speak about his family how much he misses them. But what I enjoyed most was hearing the spark in his voice as he talked about his career. There’s no doubt about it; this man is in charge!
Bliss, Like you, I didn’t understand why Randy and Kara didn’t give David a warmer reception last night. Idk, maybe they welcomed him backstage but that’s no excuse. They should have given him a warmer public welcome back to the Idol stage, IMHO.
One day in the near future when someone writes a tell-all book about what really goes on behind the scenes at American Idol, I’ll be first in line to get a copy.

61 Bliss – love your post. I have always liked Seacrest and believe that he truly likes and respects David, but he owes him big time after the dismissive way he had David leave and then actually turned his back on him – I don’t care if you are just following your marching orders, that was so disrespectful. And I agree Bliss, the entire panel was rather cool and dismissive also. I don’t need gushing, just honest reaction and appreciation for an honest performance. And then David’s description in the interview about how they told him he was going to do soundcheck and then pushed him on stage and told him it was time for his performance…. multi billion dollar corporations have their own personal agendas and care nada, squat, zip about anyone who might threaten that.
And now that I have that off my chest, I apologize for being a downer on such a beautiful day. And I did, in fact, love the Seacrest interview, thought he treated him respect and sincerity. And then there was David, who just shines, period. I don’t even know what to say as to the maturity and depth of his responses in that interview. He is wonderful.

Emmegirl– Last night I thought maybe it was just me, but I was upset over the way David left the stage or was ignored of the stage.
He was left flapping in the wind, like “Oh, he must be done with me”. Reminded me of the time during Idol when David and Cook were in a filming outside ( when Cook said David had a dry wit) and Cook up and leaves –David just stands there like he was abandoned.
I’ve never seen that on Idol before and hope never to see it again. Talk about awkward. Shame on Ryan. Also,I’m sooo fed up with the Idol judges that I won’t even go there.
I have now got in as many listening s of David last night as time will allow, can’t get enough.

I think TPTB at AI have an attitude that the contestants are beholden to the show for whatever success and popularity they enjoy after the show, so no “returning conquering hero” status is due them. Carrie Underwood was quoted as saying that any return to AI fills her with anxiety because, as she put it “They (AI) always shoot for maximum terror”. This is clearly seen by the way Ryan shows no mercy on elimination night in order to create the best “reality TV” they can contrive. It’s sometimes tough to watch, as it is occasionally downright cruel.
David, however, is one tough cookie, and always has his eye on the ball when it comes to singing and the opportunity to perform and share his gift. He’s not afraid to “feel the fear and do it anyway”, a quality I both admire and envy.
He’s my hero.

Next comes the creepy music, then…
“I’m sorry to tell you that…..(pause for what seems like ten minutes, to ensure that the contestant squirms in their boots on public TV while the camera does a closeup of their face) that….that….you are going to Hollywood!”
The poor contestant doesn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

If you watch the video of David facing the 3 judges to learn whether he made it into the top 24, and onto the live shows, there is a point where David gives a faint smile while Simon is rambling about how young he is and whether he is mature enough, blah, blah. I always felt that was David “getting it” that Simon would not torture a 16 year old kid on TV and then send him home.
If you watch the video of Carly Smithson facing the same situation, you will hear Simon admonishing, of all people, Paula, for being overly harsh and “cruel” to Carly, who was crying during Paula’s overdone monologue prior to giivng her the good news.
Why is this considered “entertainment”? They never did this on “Ted Macks’s Amateur Hour”. Oops, I might have dated myself on that one.

This appearance on AI has, I believe, done wonders to expand David’s fan base and raise the consciousness of non-believers and semi-believers(poor souls). His performance has been received universal raves from the diversified press, and any questions about David’s talent vis a vis the current contestants were answered completely by the performance.
This is coming at the perfect time. The general public now has an upodated view of David, and their image of him as the “young boy” on AI has been replaced by David’s new grown up, handsome, mature young man, persona. This will make him more appealing to those who loved his voice, but could not bring themselves to be a fan of a “kid”.
A word of warning to those who care about this kind of thing. If you thought David had a certain “look” in places like Duluth, Mn., Milwaukee, and Grand Rapids last year, wait till he hits the stage in similar garb this year. He’s older, taller, and has been working out extensively since then. He’s also more confident and less inhibited. I think they might include smelling salts in this year’s VIP package. Enough said.

Funny story.
Bebe had told me that David had on a green shirt and gray sweater ( ok it’s a jacket, but work with me here) while we talked by phone as I was out on errands.
When I got home my search began.

How lucky are we to be given this time in our lives to see David grow & evolve into THE VOICE of this generation as I knew he would. He’s growing at the pace HE himself has chosen. He could have gone another direction but he knows better. He knows exactly what he’s doing and what is good & right for him. He is following his destiny.
And YES, the hair is looking better & better too. 😆

Looks like everyone is stll recuperating OR re-viewing over & over David’s very special & magnificent “IMAGINE” and the videos from David’s Blaze halftime performance.
Just wanted to make a comment about MY thoughts about the “judges” seemingly lukewarm reception of David on AI. I have watched the actual footage recorded on my DVR and I have come to the conclusion that they were amazed and maybe suffering from shock & awe. Maybe they were expecting the same David from season 7, or the David from last season’s guest appearance, perhaps? Seems to me they sat there thinking, “WHO IS THAT MAN & WHAT HAS HE DONE WITH LITTLE DAVID ARCHULETA?” I felt like many fans who were upset at what looked like disrespect towards David by the judges & even Ryan. Then I noticed the looks on Simon’s & Kara’s faces and even if at first they were ready to dismiss David as just another Alum, that quickly changed after his stellar performance. I like to think Ellen was trying to act coy as well only because David really likes her. They didn’t really show Randy, but I would have loved to see his expression as well.
In any case, David did what he was asked to do by Simon Fuller, and he did not disappoint. One more thing…I do not, & have not watched AI since the end of season 7 except twice, not will I ever watch again as I am hoping David will use his new-found confidence & the courage to say “NO Thanks” if he’s ever asked to appear again as a guest performer on AI. David undoubtedly will always be grateful to AI for what he thinks was the only door or opportunity to get where he’s at now. I have always thought & have no doubt whatsoever that David could have done it on his own. It may have taken longer, but eventually THE DOOR would have opened up for him without AI. It was inevitable. David’s Destiny as The Voice is written in the stars. Of that, I am as certain as I am that there ARE stars in the sky. When Season 7 ended, I thought there had to be a mistake, that they announced the wrong “David” as the winner. Then I began to suspect a conspiracy. I thought it was a set-up, that the “voting” was not legitimate. That there really were no votes counted, and I even went so far as to think BOTH David’s knew which David would be crowned the IDOL. The finale performances were so far apart, David’s so superior to Cook’s that even Simon called it a “knock-out”. But it seemed to me, JUST after Ryan announced Cook’s name, the looks on both David’s faces showed no real surprise as if they knew about it beforehand. It took a while, after my initial bitter disappointment and disbelief subsided, for me to realize David would not have been a party to such deception….To this day, I cannot bring myself to watch the announcement of Cook as the AI for season 7. It’s still painful to watch David who showed no surprise and was truly happy for Cook and Cook who also showed no surprise. Go figure. But I seemed to have rambled on as I do often, and which I will miss about David as he seems to be getting over that very special & lovable trait. 😆

Isn’t David just the greatest? Unless we get another tweet from David, we won’t hear from him until Monday, so…

This is what I meant by my “Disney-esque” reference to them looking “twitter-pated”. (Bambi and friends discover love) … (Random comments I made somewhere above here.)
Sometimes when you are struck by something, you just want to look at those with you and share raised eyebrows or grins or elbow nudges, etc.; especially if you are with people you relate to in a unique way: like the judges relate to each other.
Other times, what you feel is so individual and personal you just feel like you are kind of “singled out” in your experience and you don’t talk about it to others until later. You are totally focused on what you are experiencing right now, a total immersion.
That’s how they looked to me: not like judges, but like they had just heard DA sing imagine. And it was unimaginable.

(About Ryan turning away from DA three times, etc. and the ‘programed time’ not allowing for chat with the judges … I have no comment. If there were “marching orders”, “agendas”, etc. it was like: who cares? DA blissfully did what DA does best: he explored the “brotherhood of man” and we were one.)

David sure has treated us this week. Now he’ll be off to New York for some more writing and we’ll be all ears waiting for any news.
After David’s interview with Ryan and Idolsnow I think many who were on the fence about his book may consider reading it. David shared so much in those interviews of himself and where he is headed that I think just maybe he will now be taken seriously.

I just had to chime in to say I had the same impression of the audience and the judges on the look in their faces after David was finished singing Imagine. Because of the time difference in Asia, I first watched his performance on Youtube. The sound in YT is different, a lot more muted and tame from the TV version, and David’s voice sounded a bit shaky in the first verse but strengthened towards the end of the song. I first thought that they didn’t give David the overwhelming response he deserves, the cheering was a bit sedate. But when I watched the show on TV (delayed telecast on Star World), I was surprised that David’s performance was actually very impressive from the start, despite some apparent nervousness, and the audience cheered a lot louder than I initially thought. I’ve been watching the YT vid and listening to a converted mp3 on repeat for three days now, totally mesmerized by the understated yet powerful performance of a more buff and mature David. His longer hair did not necessarily make him look older. It actually reminds me of him in a photo at a younger age. But what makes him look older is his solemn but confident demeanor as he played on the piano. (Along with a longer face that has lost its baby fat, wider looking shoulders and a narrower lower torso, as viewed from his back, omg!)
I guess I do agree that the audience and judges were in a state of stunned surprise, still trying to savor the what-just-happened-there feeling of being struck by a soul-stirring Archuleta performance. In listening to some of David’s CFTH tour performances of songs like Ave Maria, OHN, FOG and Silent Night, the overwhelming applause always seems to happen after a few seconds of silence. It’s like they had to wake up from a euphoric stupor, go back to earth from wherever they were taken, and react with such awe and wonderment. It must have happened the same way after David’s AI9 guest performance. Observe the facial expression of the audience behind Kara and Simon. They all are smiling in the same admiring way. Even the judges seemed to be speechless afterwards. Who can be expected to speak after such a stunning rendition? I actually think Ryan was fangirling when he greeted David after the song — I noticed how high pitched his voice was, as if excited to be able to talk to David. Then of course he had to tone it down to appear in control of the moment. And he had to prove it by turning his back on David as a signal that it was time for him to leave the stage and no longer be the center of attention. The drama of the results show has to go on.
The only thing is that David does not need the drama to impress. All he had to do was sing and play the piano. No special effects required to stun the audience. His soaring voice was more than enough to conquer the hearts of millions once more.

I have awakened this morning to some interesting recaps of David’s performance on AI. David is spell binding as we all know and he bound them with one of his spells and that was caught on tape. I don’t think that there is any other explanation. I know from being at David’s concerts, that I zoom in on him and never want to miss a single note. So I do just that, probably sporting the same stunned look after he sings!
By the look on her face, I don’t believe that Ellen has ever been so surprised by someone as she must have been with him. David is remarkable in the sense that he took hold of the strain of the relationship and worked with it in David style. In front of millions of people around the world he proclaimed his fondness for her with an “I love Ellen”, so how can she resist that? Remember yourselves how everyone who speaks with him at the ‘Meet and Greets’ say that they just go blank when they’re speaking with him? I think that there was honest blankness going on all the way around.
The nervousness and excitement that we have been feeling over the last week will be repeated as the single and album release dates draw nearer. Leave room…better yet ‘make room’ in your schedules for the times they are a changing…

SF and ascphil, you make some wonderful points. I guess I forget that not everyone lives in the Archuniverse and have not seen him perform and progress in the last year, or 2 years for some. And there were elements of that performance that surprised us, let alone those who do not follow him on a daily basis.
ascphil, I had noticed Ryan’s high-pitched greeting to David, lol! I love the thought of them being shell-shocked, along with a few million others who saw that performance.

I sometimes get so excited and comment to non ODD’ers and I get a look and smile that says “there she goes again” I can’t comprehend what’s wrong with them…lol And Ryan fangirling actually makes sense now, confirmed by how good he treated him the next day while interviewing him.

David was delivered center stage on a motorcycle by the team’s big hairy mascot before he performed “A Little Too Not Over You” and “Crush”. He also sings “Happy Birthday to his Mom. Aw.

There is so much love, joy and humility in that one video that I didn’t even notice that it was blurry until it was over.

As I told my daughter, I have never gotten such a big kick out of one person in my whole life ( and that’s a long time) as I have David. What he has done in three days, including Wednesday’s appearance on AI, has been priceless. The terrified look on his face when he was first on that motorcycle. which turned to a look of sheer glee in a matter of seconds, actually made me feel I was riding on it with him. He took me from tears of joy Wednesday night with his singing, to tears of admiration with his singing Happy Birthday to his Mom and the frosting on the cake singing with Jonah. WHAT A GUY!!! I have a smile that hasn’t left my face for days. I noticed that anyone in these videos who looks at David can’t help but smile.
I told my daughter she wasn’t leaving my house today until she watched the video of David and Jonah, so I put it on full screen, and we watched. I turned around to say something to her, and she had tears streaming down her cheeks. He’s definitely a “Gotcha Guy”

Of all the many things about David that I love and admire, it is his way of always knowing the appropriate thing to say, and the appropriate way to behave in any situation, that tops my list.
His kindness and joy, without even a hint of patronizing, to Jonah, is a classic illustraion of how David “knows” how to behave in challenging situations. It also helps that David is not a person that just “acts” like he cares. He actually, really cares, and it shows.
For me, the fact that David is the best singer on earth is a bonus. Being the best example of what a human being can be is what brings me to my knees.

My granddaughter watched the video of David and Jonah as I watched her, she’s 13, she was smiling the whole way through and then turns to me and said I can’t wait for his book. Made me proud and hopeful of the influence David will have on the youth of today because if he could get their attention with his music they may also come to realize that his example of what a human should be is what we should all try to emulate, it’s a win win for the world.
