When I was asked to do a video for The David Archuleta MHS Music Scholarship by those whose brain child this is, I was pleased to be a part of this endeavor to honor David and encourage excellence in music. It is my hope that in posting it here on The Voice, it may further help a gifted young person realize their dream and pay tribute to the one whose talent and heart inspired this gift. Angelica, I saw this video last night and it’s just overwhelming. To David’s “When You Believe”, and those clips, especially from home coming, I know I’m not alone when I say that that just makes a person misty eyed, a whole lot of sentimentality there, and YES, as TOfan says, “look what you made me do”, lol. Really really beautiful job. It’s a wonderful dedication that honors David, the creators of the charity, and his devoted fans. Joining in the standing O to you.

So beautiful, Angelica. As CB said, the combination of you and David is lethal. I have watched this over and over again already today. I already donated once, but this makes me want to do it again and I think I will right now. Such a wonderful thing to do to honor David. He deserves all the honors that come his way. You, Angelica, with this video brought back so many memories of when David came home to Utah during AI. I wish so bad I had been a part of that but I missed out. But you could feel the excitement in the air here that day in Utah even if you weren’t apart of it, cause it was live on TV!!

Angelica!!! Thank you so much for creating such a wonderful video. The videos of David coming back to his school in Murray are my very favorite videos of all!! What a beautiful young man, being honored on such a beautiful day with beautiful family, friends, teachers and people from all around Utah!!! They honored him there…at the beginning of his journey, and we are honoring him now for all the love and happiness he is spreading around the world. It tells his story without too many words. I hope this “gift from the fans”: The David Archuleta Music Scholarship(s), will help young music students pursue their dreams too. It was just so touching and heartfelt Angelica. Thank you so much for making this.

Go Home David, Country Music Doesn’t Need You
The rumor mill has been working over time, and our greatest fears have been confirmed. David Archuleta has been working on a new country album. Is David’s new slogan “Those that can, do, those that can’t, turn to country music?” I am not being derogatory. Country is and will always be my first love, but can we honestly respect music from someone who has never experienced it in the first place. College should have been David’s fall back plan, not country music. Will he be a male replica of Taylor Swift? I will say no. He can sing Taylor under the table. The real problem is that I foresee him being just another Matryoshka doll version of the Rascal Flatts.

FG: Whoa on those Sacvids! Did you hear the frenzy when David was behind the curtain, about to come out? That was us! Well, not us, exactly but it represented all of the fans. Gah it’s been too too long since I heard those glorious screams of joy for David! Need a concert and need it now! *sulks* Guess I’ll have to settle for youtube. By the way, Youtube: I love you!
dja: The writer of that article was obviously using David’s name to get hits for his column. If he was a serious writer of a column on country music he would know that many a rock and/or pop song came out of the town of Nashville. More to the point, good songwriters of the caliber David has been working with in Nashville, can write for any genre. Take that, Mr. Todd and YOU too, can go back where you came from!

Angelica – Your video is beautiful, and I don’t think anyone could have made a better one to represent David and this scholarship effort.
I, too, remember the Homecoming so well. I was glued to the live-stream on this computer. We saw David from “6:15AM – in the morning,” through all the ceremony, till much later at night when he sang our National Anthem at the Jazz game.
He had been on the go all day long, and despite being overcome with emotion… he gave more to us that day than we could ever repay him. Or so we thought (at the time).
Despite the many other charities we give to in honor of David, I think this scholarship fund for MHS students may become the most meaningful to him and the one closest to his big loving musical heart and soul. I’m glad he gave it his blessing.

Dear Lord,
Please take care of David.
Watch over him, protect him from all harm.
Cloak him with your love and give him the strength to endure all that is thrown in his path.
Give David the courage and guidance to say no to those who ask for more than he can reasonably give.
Surround David with loving and supportive people who love him unconditionally as we, his devoted Archangels do.
Separate David from those who have agendas other than for his well being.
Give him rest when he feels weary.
Give him stamina to sustain his hectic pace.
Give him assurance when he feels doubt.
Give him joy when he feels sad and never allow David to feel alone or lonely.
Give us the wisdom to ALWAYS DO RIGHT by David.
Help us support David so that it’s ALWAYS IN HIS BEST INTERESTS.
CLOAK DAVID IN YOUR PROTECTIVE ARMS always and please keep David and his voice healthy & strong as he fulfills his Destiny which was written in his Book of Life before he was born.
