New chat room name FTW! Thank you SandyBeaches and thanks once again to everyone who participated in the contest.

Just got off the phone with my bff. She lives hours away but we see each other several times a year and try to talk at least once a month. I’ve been meaning to call her but just kept getting side-tracked and she apparently was too.

Anyway, she called this morning and said, “David Archuleta told me to call you.” She is not a fan, liked him on idol but is not really into music much. So she never gives him a thought. She said she had a dream a couple of nights ago. She was in a store looking for a gift for someone but she didn’t in the dream know who the gift was for, which made it difficult. Finally, she picked up a plate and the name, David Archuleta, was engraved in the center of it. As soon as she saw it, she knew that this was the gift and the person she had been shopping for was me. Then she woke up and the next day, “David Archuleta” kept popping into her head all day, constantly. Just his name, at random times and each time it did she thought of me. Last night she tried to sleep but it continued, she kept waking up with his name in her head and as soon as she did, she would think of me. So she said when she got up this morning she told David, “Alright, alright, I’ll call her!” But she told me on the phone, “I know it wasn’t really David at all.” 😉

    *SPAM WAND* in hand

    Angelica
I had sort of a similar experience lately from my BFF who was not getting how I care so much for such a young performer. Then I gave her Christmas Live CD. Fields of Gold she knew from Sting. To her ears David *stung* him by singing it better. Then this week she emailed me from out of town, out of the blue.

“Do you think that your young friend has gone to Haiti to help in relief effort.?
I keep thinking of him and don’t even know him, and can only imagine how you must be feeling. ”

So, it must be that David has abilities to creep into the hearts of the non- fan types and win them over!

Thanks for all the kind words about the site. We have a 5 person TEAM. We feel honored that we can do this and have such a great fan base to come by and visit.

“We must fight for our dreams”

In 2008, on the seventh season of American Idol, a charismatic boy of Honduran descent named David Archuleta, finished second in the competition. And, coming from the United States, the young artist arrived in the country to participate in a series of activities organized by the Enterprise Mentors International foundation, which provides training to farmers in impoverished areas of various developing countries.

On Tuesday night, before giving a talk to young people about values, principles and how to achieve their dreams, the singer, 19, spoke to the media about his visit to Guatemala and his music career.

A tad nervous, David explained that he has arrived in the country to learn about the conditions of poverty that some Guatemalan communities live in, with the intention of promoting programs for development. On this occasion he visited Patzicía, Zaragoza and the village Chirijuyu, in Chimaltenango, as well as Antigua Guatemala. His tour of Central America, which he announced via Twitter, also included Honduras.

    Possessor of a great voice

Accompanied by his mother, Lupe Archuleta, the young artist said that music is something that has impassioned him all his life. “I think my voice was a gift God gave me and I must use it in a positive way,” he said in halting Spanish.

He is currently working on a book recounting his life, so that his fans can know a little more about him.

“Fame has allowed me to hear the different stories of people, and I want to tell them that we must fight for those dreams, that there is no reason to abandon them,” the singer concluded. And as a farewell to the national press, he performed the famous Spanish ballad “Contigo en la Distancia.”

    He is so admirable.

FG#12 Fun idea for an article! I can think of a few things. Why don’t you have a go at submitting an article?

Dja#24 Regarding the article on David playing (Peter Parker) “Spiderman”, this comment bears repeating here:

“He’d totally fail as Peter Parker, the photographer. Ever looked at the pics he’s taken on his Myspace? All blurry lol. Anyway, don’t let his cute, sweet, innocent look fool you. He can be sassy (with a hint of sarcastic and fierce) if the mood strikes him! Love that about him, too. Example from m & g (Meet & Greet) with him:

Fangirl, pretty & knowing it, walks up to him: “Hi, I’m your future wife.”

David, not as thrilled as she probably would have liked: “Well. Thanks for the heads-up.”

    LOL”

Kudos to SandyBeaches on naming our new chat room!

Thanks to everyone for your congrats. for the chat name “The Voice Unplugged”. I think that it is a good off shoot from the title of the web site of the same name The Voice…David’s voice comes to us like the marvelous voices of Pavarotti or Bocelli…

I remember when I first heard that a concert on AI was going to be unplugged and that was the first time that I had heard that expression and wondered…what?? So yeah of course everything natural, all voices on their own and sometimes that is how we like to hear David sing. He is a perfectionist at unplugged…

So without any frills but with fun and laughter, enjoy your chats unplugged!

All the best to the team of five and enjoy every moment…

During AI7 That web site was not nice when they referred to David. VFTW is Vote For The Worst They were dedicated to stacking votes towards a contestant who THEY deemed the worst of the week. It would be hard to imagine he had not heard about them and their antics. They don’t seem to “like” anyone.

David finally tweeted! His last tweet was over 36 hrs ago. I love his tweets & feel all warm & gushy when I read them on my phone as if he tweets to me personally. You’d think I was a 16 year old! I’ve always said David is my Fountain of Youth! Wish I could bottle the feeling! 😀

On the other hand, I admire that he has resisted tweeting about what he’s been doing. He’s sightseeing with his family and probably doing lots of interesting things BUT he is being respectful of them by not tweeting a lot even though I’m sure he knows we want to know everything..what he’s doing, where he’s going, what he’s eating, etc!

He’s so very special and missed like ca-ray-zeh!

Good night all! And for David,

    Dear lord,

    Please take care of David.
Watch over him, protect him from all harm.
Cloak him with your love and give him the strength to endure all that is thrown in his path.
Give David the courage and guidance to say no to those who ask for more than he can reasonably give.
Surround David with loving and supportive people who love him unconditionally as we, his devoted Archangels do.
Separate David from those who have agendas other than for his well being.
Give him rest when he feels weary.
Give him stamina to sustain his hectic pace.
Give him assurance when he feels doubt.
Give him joy when he feels sad and never allow David to feel alone or lonely.
Give us the wisdom to always do right by David.
Help us support David so that it’s always in his best interest.
CLOAK DAVID IN YOUR PROTECTIVE ARMS AS HE JOURNEYS TO FAR AWAY PLACES DOING GOOD AND CHARITABLE WORKS.
Keep David and his voice healthy & strong as he fulfills his Destiny which was written in his Book of Life before he was born.
Though we may be unworthy Lord, we humbly pray. Amen

David, have a good & restful night’s sleep with sweet & happy dreams. Thank you for all you do and for who you are. HAVE A SAFE & ENJOYABLE TIME IN CENTRAL AMERICA. Keep with you all our love, support & prayers always. Contigo siempre! We will be with you always! TAKE CARE!
